Best firmware for Xz2 Premium - Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium Questions & Answers

Hi, I'm currently running 8.0 without any issues. I just bought this phone last month. Can anybody tell me which firmware runs the best on this device? So far, from my research, Pie and Android 10 don't have great reviews. Please advise, thanks.

Android 10 is good enough to use in daily life. And secure.

I think androi 10 is ok

This doesn't mean we'll build oreo for the aging N7, even with app optimizations and system optimizations oreo still probably won't run well on the Nexus 7 2012. I don't even see why we bother with android, what we need to do is work on Sailfish, because that runs buttery smooth on this tablet. Who knows though, maybe we'll see a Sailfish OS 2.x build for the 2012 Nexus 7 soon
Anyway I would be surprised if android go actually makes the Nexus 7 noticeably faster, heck, I would be surprised to see an oreo build at all.

I would hope that the Devs manage to port it to the grouper, because AOSP Nougat with no gapps is fairly usable, so I think Oreo isn't much heavier than Nougat

I prefer Sailfish OS, its faster, smoother, and much much much more lightweight.
late to this party, but as an owner of a grouper, i can report that my sony xperia sp of similar vintage is running google go built on 8.1 with great success
As another owner of a grouper I would like to see this come to some light and possible development. Available for testing too ..
So I feel dumb as I created a thread asking about exactly this without realising this thread exists... You can add me to the list of people that would be interested in seeing this come to life.
additional info : the xperia sp with this enabled has far greater battery drain in standby than the "stock" oreo - presumably due to power used in shuffling memory space
standby with it enabled is ~ 36 hours... but without it is 9 (yes, that's NINE !) days
Lol I just brought my nexus 7 2012 back to life. Rooted, installed twrp. Android go/Oreo would be nice.

mine's doing great service as the music media hub in the kitchen / living area, porting flac files from the server using neutron (great app !) via bluetooth to the nad d3020 and onto a 2+1 wharfedale speaker set - sounds fantastic
it's on 7.1.2 security patched to jan 2018
if you don't use it already, i recommend wugfresh's nexus root toolkit :good:

Thank you for the tip, Nexus 7 Tulip running smoother then ever now.
Unofficial Oreo 8.1 AEX rom runs very fluidly on my nexus 7 flo (using gapps 8.1 pico). Its much better than any other rom that I've tried. It comes with the elementalX kernel and substratum built in (has 9 custom themes).

Resurrection Remix v6.0.0 [android 8.1.0] for Leeco Le 2 (X52X)

Hey guys, I found this rom on a site and thought should share it with you all.
I AM NOT THE DEVELOPER OF THIS ROM NEITHER DOES IT BELONG TO ME.
Its the RROS 8.1 (Unofficial Build).
Download: https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=890129502657590711
Gapps: https://opengapps.org
(arm64, 8.1, pico)
I feel this is the best rom for Le 2 based on Oreo.
It has a really good battery backup and has no bugs.
Everything works perfectly fine.

I really want to try it but i am currently on 9.5.2.0 MIUI which is quite stable for me. I use Forcedoze & appfrozen to get the best of the experience. For me battery life is imp & GPS also (but i usually use it really less but accuracy is the key)
Today i got 105mins SOT in 30% battery, so my guess say i might get 5+ hrs on same.
I have been a fan of RR since i was Galaxy S2.
I would like to have an opinion for daily driver

I tried this rom for a few hours but didn't like the performance and regarding the battery life, every Oreo rom has battery draining issue including RR (this rom). I personally use DotOS Nougat version as it is very fluid and battery life is way better than any Oreo rom I've tried.

Android 9 Pie Port

Any possibility of Pixel Experience (AOSP) rom based on Android 9.0 Pie for athene?
Not even Athene Oreo roms are out of beta state, what other than a barely bootable alpha of Pie would you expect?
I don't think we'll be receiving pie right now as devs are either busy with treble or making Oreo better
Few developers have created branch for P and started working.. WAIT.. WAIT, AND DON'T ASK FOR ETA, YOU WILL HAVE IT WHEN STABLE ENOUGH FOR USE...

Blame lenovo for the missing Oreo blob's cause they never released official android Oreo version for this device.
The developers here make an outstanding job to get Oreo running WITHOUT the essential drivers.
So now you can answer your questions yourself
I wonder if they will ever release oreo for this device. I lost all the hopes. They even have g5 lineup to update.

Personally I don't have hope too:crying: it will be a shame if they don't do it and will have an huge impact on their image(hopefully)
Their image is already lost. Their priorities have changed. I don't know why they launch so many variants, and struggle later to update so many of them. And the recent 6th gen series gets update support only for a year i think.

Yes ....and for g5 series I don't think so they will get pie...and only one major android update will be given by them From g5 series I think so. And I don't think so we will get Oreo .....not even soak test until now....its been one year and above . so better we guys should try to make a stable custom ROM than depending and waiting for update.

Which one is currently (Oct-2018) the best XT907 Custom ROM to use?

Good afternoon!
Well, after being loyal to this Motorola for a couple years, I finally got on my hands a XT907 with Android 4.1 (that means I can unlock bootloader for free! YAY!)
Since something like January 2017, I want to have a higher Android version on a Motorola RAZR M. Back then, I had a couple ROMs on a list what I wanted to test. However, I got a XT907 capable of this 22 months later
So, now what we are on 2018 and things evolved a lot, I want to hear suggestions: Which one is, for you, right now, the best Custom ROM to use for a daily use? That means this XT907 will be my principal phone, so I'll use from Office Suite to Hotspot (Short words: I need a ROM fully functional).
Thanks in advance :highfive:
I have recently flashed CRDroid Android 7.1.2 shared by DiamondJohn, it looks great with Overclocking and extra customization, so far there is no bug apparently, and being on unlocked bootloader means you can switch to any rom after testing, i had cm 12.1 before this which restart it self randomly after somedays, so def Android 7.1.2 is so faar good one.

I see. I just installed to my mother XT912 LineageOS 14.1, and that is my first experience seeing a non-stock ROM on a Motorola hahaha
Just wondering: You need to overclock CRDroid Android 7.1.2 for it to run smoothly? Or I can just install it to run it well?
I don't have much experience going deeper on customization. The farthest I have went is Xposed Framework in Motorola, and Custom ROM/Kernel in Samsung

Hows your battery so far ?
i was using CrDroid 7.1.2 , but as everyone know Lineage OS 14.1 and all other Nougat Rom have problems with battery calibration on our devices so i reverted back to Marshmallow Lineage OS 13, so far battery is working alright but not as good as Lollipop, so i might revert back to Kitkat Bootloader and then CM 12.1 after somedays.
