Thank You so much.

What's the point of making another root thread? We have so many already saying the same thing. Also you really shouldn't take someone's work without giving them credit. Probably didn't even ask for permission to use.

And please don't download minimal adb/fastboot. That thing is 2 years+ old, completely out of date, and probably why people have fastboot issues when doing other things.

Thank you so much i rooted my oneplus but whenever i open whatsapp or some other apps my phone hangs at that place and i am unable to go back

Were the first 5 threads not good enough?

Thank you but, I have a question. When upgrading to another version of Oxygen, how do you stay root without having to flash again with ADB?

You install as usual then enter magisk apk and patch before restarting phone.

Hi all,
About Magisk, we must download the canary version or the stable version please?
Thank you

[Root] Zenfone 2 Official Android 6.0 Root + Xposed and Downgrade

**WARNING** You need to have background knowledge of adb, fastboot, twrp, sideload.. before you can go on with this thread.
1. All credits go to @shakalaca. If you like his work, please make him a small donation for encouragement.
2. This is a systemless root. Yet you need to unlook Lollipop before upgrading to Marshmallow.
3. Flashing the attached SuperSU file modifies stock boot.img. In case you receive an OTA file later, do
**REMEMBER to FLASH BACK TO STOCK Android 6.0 BOOT.IMG** to unroot before upgrading to official Android 6.0.
Root:
1. Unlock your device in Lollipop, then upgrade to Android 6.0
2. Once you are in Android 6.0, fire the following command to boot twrp. <twrp.img> is the twrp recovery file. This TWRP is recommended.
HTML:
adb reboot-bootloader
fastboot boot <twrp.img>
3. adb sideload the attached SuperSu file in twrp. /OR install the SuperSU in twrp if you saved it in device storage.
4. reboot system. You will see a warning screen saying "Your device has failed Verification". Ignored it and wait for the reboot.
5. Done
Unroot:
Just flash back stock boot.img
Xposed:
1.Flash the attached Xposed file from twrp.
2.use Material Design Xposed Installer: Download Xposed Installer here
Downgrade to Lollipop:
In case you need to downgrade to Lollipop, follow the instructions with care. Do it at your risk.
Refer to Asus Zentalk Forum and grab the required files from there.
HTML:
fastboot flash token bom-token.bin
fastboot flash ifwi ifwi_ann_a0-mofd_v1-ze551ml.bin
fastboot flash fastboot droidboot.img
fastboot flash splashscreen splashscreen_ze551ml.img
fastboot reboot-bootloader
Now you are back in Lollipop. You can flash back stock recovery(.184 recommended), wipe the device(cache/userdata/system) and then sideload back stock LP or MM as you wish. OR, you can flash custom recovery/boot/system.img start from here.
Good luck!
It worked!Thank you master!I bow now....

Assuming that everyone knows how to use adb and its commands
1: Well first make sure adb and drivers are on your pc.
2: Plug phone in make sure USB debugging is on
3: In adb cmd window type "adb devices" to make sure phone is recognized, if so proceed
4: type "adb reboot recovery" phone should boot into recovery with android robot on screen
5: Then type "fastboot boot <twrp.img>" twrp.img is whatever your file is named
6: phone will boot into recovery, go to adb sideload in recovery
7: type "adb sideload <SU.zip>" or whatever you have it named
8: After it's done loading reboot from recovery, it will reboot twice and the screen will say as per OP
9: After phone optimizes...enjoy root.

Guess your ZF2 is not unlocked in LP first, so that you can't see twrp booting. Since you are in Android 6.0 now, try to downgrade to LP, Unlock it, upgrade to 6.0 and then root.

Z17S (NX595J) Unlock Bootloader & TWRP

Hi, I'm new to this phone. Just got it 1 week ago. I tried to find any related information on the bootloader unlock and custom recovery, but it is very limited. I think maybe this phone is not well known. I would appreciate if someone can provide me the way to unlock bootloader, flash TWRP and roots. I can't live without magisk and viper4android. Thanks.
Here ya go,
1. Download and install minimal fastboot adb
2.Download TWRP rename it Recovery and move it to minimal fastboot adb folder
3. Unlock bootloader, in fastboot enter the following code : fastboot oem nubia_unlock NUBIA_NX595J
4. then also in fastboot: fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
5. you may need to format data in TWRP to get it to boot up !

Hi, I've tried numerous timed and it always won't pick up the command of unlocking bootloader. It always stay in the fastboot menu. I've toggled the 'OEM Unlock' function in the developer setting, as well as the USB debugging. Any idea why the device won't pick up that command?
Is it changing to unlock after you enter the command?

I'm having the problem. Unlock is not sticking to unlock. The unlock works and the flash works but as soon as you try and reboot into recovery it hangs at a blank screen no twrp. Console says waiting for device and stuck. next time I go into bootloader it says locked. The count is 3 for unlock count is there a limit? 7-6-18 Nubia Z17 NX591J WIn 10.

I don't understand? Appears not locked? It is locked. Now I remember when I flashed my Star N997 the developer said that there is a unlock bit that has to be turned on in the process of unlocking. I think this may be the case here since it unlocks until a reboot. I am deep concerned that after a unlock count of 3 the phone will not boot anymore. Do you know anything about these things? Another thought is does the USB C need different drivers and should it be plugged into a USB 3.0 outlet?
TWRP will flash only when it's unlocked so even if it's saying it's locked go by what you can do with TWRP
---------- Post added at 12:25 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:24 AM ----------
I did it several times and never had a problem
i was looking for camera.apk file from Nubia Z17S phone from Stock ROM, can anyone upload it here..it should be located in system / app or app-pvt folder, you can copy using Root Explorer tool.
pls. let me know...
I'm having problems unlocking the bootloader. Has anyone got the proper TWRP for this phone? I can't find it. The one I have says FAILED (remote: Requested download size is more than max allowed). Thanks
hello links no longer works. Someone could give me back the TWRP and minimalb fastboot adb
For anyone's information, TWRP will not boot in recovery while the phone is being charged. Unplug first. You will just get a black screen.
i am also experiencing the same issue.. where can i find the drivers for this phone nx595j? or how do i uninstall the drivers for it?

How To FIX Signature error 132 when flashing stock RUU nougat

Hi world Here I bring you a mini tutorial on how to solve this problem, in the way that I solved it and it worked for me, it's very easy and I hope it works for you.
I DO NOT MAKE ANY RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE RISK INVOLVED BY TRYING THIS.
Prerequisites:
adb fastboot minimal
Hboot M9_4.30.617.12
RUU_HIMA_UL_N70_SENSE80_ATT_MR_NA_Gen_Unlock_4.30.617.12.exe
first of all, the first thing I did was to update the HBOOT to the latest version of the unlocked / developer model
Step-By-Step:
1. If device is booted into Android, reboot into download mode by running:
Code:
adb reboot download
2. Now place the Firmware_xx.zip into your adb/fastboot folder (which will be C:\Program Files (x86)\Minimal ADB and Fastboot" if you use my Batch Tool).
2a.
Code:
fastboot oem rebootRUU
3. Followed by:
Code:
fastboot flash zip M9_4.30.617.12_NoWipe_TWRP3100.zip
(IF you encounter any errors which are not “FAIL90”, have a look into Post #3 or ask in the thread! DO NOT REBOOT THE DEVICE!)
View attachment 4607611
Flash the file again and done.
View attachment 4607612
After this simple step, just install your ruu and your phone will be ready.

[GUIDE] Flash Firmware/Update Bootloader to 3.19 - S-ON, no Stock OS

This procedure has only been tested with my personal TMOB101 - x.xx.111.x Phone
Since there was no guide on how to do it I mixed and matched what I found to my personal needs.
Use at own risk
I doubt many people will need this but this might end some hour-long research sessions and save the sanity of a couple of people.
Requirements:
-PC with USB 2.0 ports
-unlocked bootloader
-HTCDev Account to lock/unlock bootloader
-Installed One M8 Drivers
-Uninstalled HTC Sync (not disabled)
-Portable Minimal ADB & Fastboot
-htc_fastboot.exe https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B8L4pkbzdlR3eTlJSjdKVEdHX1U/view source: @EddyOS here
-Signed Firmware.zip matching your phones CID
-S-OFF not required
If there are multiple firmware updates I strongly suggest to flash them in succeeding order
Step 1. - preparation:
Create a folder containing Portable Minimal ADB & Fastboot
Download htc_fastboot.exe and place it in the same folder
Download your required firmware zip file and place it in the same folder, rename it to firmware.zip
Step 2. - execution
start your phone in bootloader mode by pressing the power and the volume down button
connect it to an USB 2.0 port
Run cmd-here.exe from the minimal ADB & Fastboot package as admin.
reboot to bootloader
Code:
fastboot reboot-bootloader
lock bootloader
Code:
fastboot oem lock
reboot to RUU
Code:
fastboot oem rebootRUU
Your phone should reboot to display a silver HTC logo
Flash firmware update using htc_fastboot
Code:
htc_fastboot zip firmware.zip
wait until the phone indicates the finished process
reboot to bootloader
Code:
fastboot reboot-bootloader
Unlock bootloader following HTCs instructions
https://www.htcdev.com/bootloader/unlock-instructions
Flash your desired recovery and your desired rom as usual afterwards
_____________________________________________________
Useful to know:
I had no backup to stock available and wanted to upgrade my old phone from an outdated CMod build to a more recent LineageOS build that required Bootloader 3.19 - my version was 3.18
Whats your cid?
Code:
fastboot oem readcid
What firmware version does my CID require?

[How to] Enabling cam2 (GCAM) for every android version with temp root + keeping OTA

This guide worked for every OREO version, and also is working for PIE ! :good:
You will enable camera2 on your phone, and keep it stock afterwards so it can receive future OTA updates. :victory:
1 - Unlocking bootloader
Unlocking bootloader, this command will delete/reset your phone, so do backup of files as needed.
First of all, enable the Developer Option.
To do this go to your Settings -> About -> Software Information -> More -> Now Tap on the Build Number 7-8 Times until you see a toast message “Developer option enabled”.
Now go back to settings -> Enable the OEM Unlock by going to Settings -> Developer Option and Enable OEM Unlock and USB Debugging.
Now connect the phone with your USB cable, use USB port 2.0 on your computer.
It should appear on your phone screen an asking for access privileges of your PC (device, maybe Linux), allow it.
Download ADB if you don't have it.
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1yCdMyAAOD46T4B8haFuZVF57E4-WK8l2/view?usp=sharing
In ADB folder, double click "Open CMD here.bat".
AND FROM THIS TIME, YOU DON'T CLOSE THIS CMD AT ALL, UNTILL YOU FINISH THE WHOLE GUIDE
Code:
adb devices
Your device should appear with some random numbers like this
https://www.howtogeek.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/image34.png
If it does, go to next stage, if it's not, you are not installed usb drivers corectly or did not enabled usb debugging.
Link for USB Drivers for Mi A2.
http://dl.adbdriver.com/upload/adbdriver.zip
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
Unlocking bootloader, this command will delete/reset your phone, so do backup of files as needed.
Code:
fastboot oem unlock
Phone will reboot, go to check developer options > usb debugging ON once again.
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
Again in fastboot we are unlocking critical partitions, and once again it will erase verything from the phone, so be sure to do the backup as needed.
Code:
fastboot flashing unlock_critical
Again when the phone reboot, check developer options > usb debugging ON.
2. Rooting the phone (temporarily)
Download stock boot and patched boot of android version you have, if you need versions for OREO, find somewhere in forum, here it is link for PIE.

10.0.2.0 https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1_cIM0ltKD_PU1mIiWwUE-nMba964NyvN?usp=sharing
10.0.1.0 https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/18tcBVaKwH9cy_RVczf-GSc_tAkFYvn15?usp=sharing
9.6.17.0 https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1D9RlDZRupdriCyJM4p0ixvntPE2QPP9w?usp=sharing
Put the files in adb folder, both the stock boot.img and patched_boot.img.
NOW !
There are two methods, so you can choose between those two:
1. Faster and easier one with only booting patched boot
2. Slower with flashing, but this one will teach you how to flash and root your phone
1. ENABLING WITH BOOTING PATCHED_BOOT.IMG
In CMD type
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
Code:
fastboot boot patched_boot.img
When the phone starts, wait for magisk to appear in apps, or if it's not there, find it in apkmirror site, magisk manager, download, install from phone it is easier.
https://www.apkmirror.com/?post_type=app_release&searchtype=apk&s=magisk+manager
Then when you start magisk, it will ask you to download full zip, just skip it, your phone will now be rooted.
3. Enabling Camera2 api (lvl3)
In CMD type
Code:
adb shell
Code:
su
(this time look at the phone screen, allow root access ONCE)
Code:
setprop persist.camera.HAL3.enabled 1
For PIE and for using v6 Gcam ports three more commands, for OREO it is not needed.
Code:
setprop persist.vendor.camera.HAL3.enabled 1
Code:
setprop persist.camera.stats.test 5
Code:
setprop persist.vendor.camera.stats.test 5
Press ctrl+c to exit adb shell (windows) or just type "exit" and again "exit"
4. Unrooting the phone
Start magisk again, go to UNINSTALL, choose full uninstall, magisk will reboot the phone in process of uninstalling, and the phone should start normaly without Magisk installed, and with camera2 enabled, because nothing was flashed, you are DONE !
2. ENABLING WITH FLASHING PATCHED_BOOT.IMG
In CMD type
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
Code:
fastboot getvar current-slot
Then when you see your active partition, flash the patched image.
Code:
fastboot flash boot_a patched_boot.img
OR if it was b partition active
Code:
fastboot flash boot_b patched_boot.img
Code:
fastboot reboot
When the phone starts, wait for magisk to appear in apps, or if it's not there, find it in apkmirror site, magisk manager, download, install from phone it is easier.
https://www.apkmirror.com/?post_type=app_release&searchtype=apk&s=magisk+manager
Then when you start magisk, it will ask you to download full zip, just skip it, your phone will now be rooted.
3. Enabling Camera2 api (lvl3)
In CMD type
Code:
adb shell
Code:
su
(this time look at the phone screen, allow root access ONCE)
Code:
setprop persist.camera.HAL3.enabled 1
For PIE and for using v6 Gcam ports three more commands, for OREO it is not needed.
Code:
setprop persist.vendor.camera.HAL3.enabled 1
Code:
setprop persist.camera.stats.test 5
Code:
setprop persist.vendor.camera.stats.test 5
Press ctrl+c to exit adb shell (windows) or just type "exit" and again "exit"
4. Unrooting the phone
Start magisk again, go to UNINSTALL, choose full uninstall, magisk will reboot the phone in process of uninstalling, prepare and hold down the volume button when phone restarts, your phone will go into fastboot.
Type the command for active partition
Code:
fastboot getvar current-slot
Code:
fastboot flash boot_a boot.img
Or
Code:
fastboot flash boot_b boot.img
Code:
fastboot reboot
This is it guys, you have enabled lvl3 (camera2), and unrooted phone, ready for next OTA updates.
Install camera2 probe from gplay to confirm.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.weis.camera2probe&hl=en
Phone needs to stay with unlocked bootloader, because if you lock the phone, you will lose camera2, but do not worry, the future OTA updates will work.
If this guide helped you, please click the thanks button, that's all, cheers. :highfive:
If you're using temp recovery, just fastboot boot patched_boot.img, no need to flash, and once done just reboot
if i flash boot.img back i get stuck in android one screen

Code:
adb reboot bootloader

The post has some errors but I'm here to report you guys how I made it work.
adb devices
adb reboot bootloader
(I had the bootloader unlocked already so I didn't do those steps)
fastboot boot patched_boot.img
(Notice I didn't flash the patched image, you don't need to do that, my current partition was b, but that doesn't matter since I'm not flashing anything, I am just booting into the patched/rooted image)
(Installed magisk manager and rootchecker)
(magisk said it was rooted, so did root checker)
adb shell
su
(I gave the permission on my phone)
setprop persist.camera.HAL3.enabled 1
(If you check the post carefully, this line above is not the same one the OP has, that one is wrong, mine is right)
setprop persist.vendor.camera.HAL3.enabled 1
ctrl+c
adb reboot
(Notice I don't flash anything here as well, since I didn't flash the patched image, so if I reboot, it will boot into my stock boot image)
aaaaaaand it's done.
Thanks to the OP for his work, and please correct the line that is wrong. Cheers.

@Jamesismo, thanx, I fixed the typo mistake, did not have the DOT in command line, it was not an error, just a typo, but thanx.
And yes, please guys, do not quote the first post.
In a guide, a neewbie can learn how to unlock bootloader, root the phone, enable cam2, and unroot the phone.
So he can choose, whether he wants to stay with rooted phone or not, or to unroot later if he wants...
I think that with this method, OTA will work even if he has Magisk installed, because nothing is changed in system, but that needs to be confirmed.
I noticed that many people want to lock the bootloader to recieve OTA. It is unnecessary you still receive OTA with an unlocked bootloader provided you have not changed the system folder etc.
Hey @minnuss good job! glad to see this.
I would change one thing i noticed: "Press ctrl+c to exit adb shell."
That's a Windows thing, doesn't work with Linux or Mac. Most people 'should' know how to exit a command prompt, but if not, safer to just say type 'exit' and hit enter. That works on all of the systems.
Cheers

If may i ask what version of Gcam you recommend? I've tried
Arnova's v8.3b1 and the front facing camera doesn't work on photo mode, but work on video.
Thanks
@minnuss Hey bro, the post does still have a typo, after "setprop" there must be a space, not a dot. (First line)

It does work in protrait mode 5mpx, and if you change it from 5mpx to 3mpx, normal selfie works as well.

Fix for front cam on Arnova 8.3b1 > go to settings > developer settings > camera.enable_micro UNCHECK (all the way down in developer settings)
Back, back, exit, remove cam from memory, restart the cam...done ! :fingers-crossed::good::laugh:
The google camera APK that I've used in oreo does not work in Pie. Any new suggestions? With night sight preferably! Thanks
@hugopg
There is no version 6 gcam mod that works for our PIE, but you can use this, it works nice, and do the fix for front cam, just a post up from this.
Arnova's v8.3b1: GCam-5.1.018-Pixel2Mod-Arnova8G2-V8.3b1.apk
