Black levels are pretty dark. Twice as good as G8 power and hugely better than Realme devices in the same price range. The contrast ratio of the IPS display is quite good at 1294:1

I saw it happen once, so far. I bought the phone in March of this year, fwiw.
But it is not a regular occurrence, so YMMV.

Color accuracy isn't very good, especially for an IPS panel. Definitely a disappointment if you're used to the very saturated AMOLED displays, or even higher quality IPS displays. Blacks are pretty good, but color accuracy seems, at least subjectively, not much better than that of my Moto E 2015.
Both of the sites below have measured the Honor 6x screen for color accuracy/temperature/brightness/contrast etc. No need to ask opinions. On one of the sites, you can plug in your favorite phone to see how its results measure up to the Honor 6x.

For color accuracy, the 6X's Delta-E rating of 3.28 was once again better than the smartphone average (4.1), as well as the scores of the LeEco (4.99) and the Axon 7 Mini (3.92). (Numbers closer to 0 are better in this test). Once again, the Moto G4 Plus sported superior numbers, with a Delta-E rating of 2.33.
The one area where the Honor 6X fell a bit flat was color range. Covering 114 percent of the sRGB gamut, the 6X trails the LeEco Le S3 (137 percent) and the ZTE Axon 7 Mini, whose OLED screen hit 177 percent. The Moto G4 Plus' color range was more limited.
Color accuracy isn't very good
it is moderate and can not be differentiated with end user perspective. Not all the users can really understand or differentiate this so this is not an issue here at all.

I actually kinda like its minimum brightness

Maybe I'm just spoiled from my galaxy note 4 since it would go both dimmer and brighter.. I mean it's not bad, I'm just used to dimmer, and wouldn't mind dimmer. but it's a mid-range device, not a flagship like the note 4 used to be ?*

lol I know i used to be there as well I had a note 4 and I feel the camera of course was better as well but hey i cant complain I only paid 237 for this phone new.Also I have had fair share of bad luck I lost my 256gb note 8 koren version with 128gb micro sd card as well Just as few months ago.

if you came from a phone with 100% ntsc or an amoled you will be disapointed, the reds and greens are about 50% off in terms of accuracy the only accurate color are the blues.
the phone has 84% ntsc color accuracy only
i couldn't demo this phone before i bought it, i could have got a mi 8 for the same price with a samsung oled panel
You can tell this is where corners were cut. The color accuracy is mediocre, it leaves a bit to be desired. Reds are somewhat washed out, greens could be more refined, and whites have a blue-ish tone.

Only if display matters more to you...
I used my old Motorola Moto G 1st gen to calibrate the screen but the Poco screen don't even come close to the Moto G screen. I think the Moto G 1st gen has one of the best IPS screen in terms of color accuracy even for todays standard.
hTC Produced some of the super-fine LCDs with their SuperLCD

I wouldn't call it great, this tries to achieve an impossible task on a below average screen / display.
It somewhat tries to blnket the issue and fails miserably.

Not an app. Its an in-built feature available in most of the custom roms, its called "Live Display".
I am currently on Evo X even they have this feature.

I compared the Mate 20 Pro and Mate 20 screen, both in the same place and same time, with the screen of my LG G7 in the 3 minutes supermax brightness mode. Both huawei phones had the flash of my LG G7 directly pointed in the ambient/light sensor. I disagree with all the reviews I've seen. Everyone will the you the Mate 20 Pro has a "better" screen, but I doubt anyone has really compared them side by side outdoor. IMHO if you look for sunlight visibility, the Mate 20 and its RGBW screen is the one to get. The Mate 20 Pro screen was less bright than my G7, although it was beautiful and the color was very stable from every angle thanks to the AMOLED screen. The Mate 20 was indeed brighter than my LG G7 (remember I was in the in the 3 minutes 1000+ NITS mode), so I guess that must be one of the brightest screen ever made to date. I'm writing to inform anyone and to ask owners of the mate 20 to test the max brightness of their phones. Does it shut off after 3 minutes as my LG or is it usable for few hours outside? That's a very important factor to me, and I couldn't test the phones as much as I would as my time was limited. Thanks to anyone sharing their comments.

Yeah, I like the phone. It has great battery. The camera isn't as bad as I initially thought. Compared to my Cyber-shot w810 compact camera, the Moto g9 kicks its ass.
The Google assistant stuff is the most annoying thing. The assistant button is useless, and when trying to unlock the device, 9 out of 10 times it starts the assistant. Disabling the assistant only leads to assistant settings.... Lol.
Please someone do something!
And now for a serious problem: I have been able to unlock the device with a fingerprint not registered in the device!
