it´s a cellphone... doesnt gonna last mora than 1 year with me, and im not a FreakyVersion dude, works the same one with android 8 than a android 11, also Xiaomi releases the Update list and the 9a is on it.

I think otheres dont seem to understand what this thread is about, (maybe its just me tho, Im new af) but it seems to me there is lots of stuff, no like some of the samsung phones I had in the past, where there is nothing (appart from rooting).
there are roms (LineageOS, arrowOS, Nusantra etc)
there are recoveries (Orange fox is apparently better than TWRP for this model)
there are root (but that is kind of common nowadays)
one thing I should say, the wait time to unlock bootloader is annoying af, I recomend if you get this phone inmediately associate your phone to your miunlock acccount (dont inmediately unlock it) but with this when/if you wanna unlock the bootloader you dont have to wait 6/14 days, this process (binding phone to account) is harmless and totally official and has no consecuaces since the phone will ask for your account to do resets anyway, it is a bit annoying tho since the phone has issues receiving messages, I recomend using a differnet phone as recovery phone, that.
Just to let that clear, until youre told to wait 6 days you havent changed anything on the phone, so try to get that message as soon as posible and stop.

CM port

Hi everyone,
I have juste created a thread asking for the official port of CM on this device (I can't post the link because I'm new....), section device requests.
Be free to comment the post (even a +1) , I am sure you can find the link we google, and we have to prey that they will take a look at it
Kisses
Won't happen until Alcatel releases the source code and given that the phone was just released to canada as recently as June 30th you can expect to wait a couple of months for that.
Just want I want a bug filled rom that gets rid of one problem and another pops up. I just love when we all use cm and the Bluetooth crashes all the time, disconnects, and overall bearly works. I love when the wifi disconnects and you have to restart the phone just to get it to work.
Sorry I'll stick to the stock rom where everything works perfectly fine.
Wont be any cm roms until we get twrp first. Im shocked more devs dont own this device.

It hasn't even been out 2 months yet. It's an off name most are not familiar with and alcatel's first true shot at an enterprise/flagship level device. It has threads on slickdeals.net advertising it's low price...it will eventually get support by either the source being released or a new exploit being found that can be used to provide temp or perm root...once someone has root they can pull the recovery and boot partitions and development can begin.
It's unrealistic to expect developer's to be jumping all over this phone so soon. I'd never even heard of it till I was looking to buy a zen phone 2 and found so many articles comparing it to the idol 3.
Woukd be nice to have it or either dirty unicorns crdroid or omnirom ^^ now that we have a working TWRP

yeah id miss it too but meh lol but theres the dolby atmos app that has been ported from a lenovo ROM that should work with our speakers and also there can be a way to port the colorOS camera app from oppo phones those can take up to 50mp shots because they use sony sensors even on the one plus one has been achieved an yet it has the same sony sensor also hopefully xposed framework could work on us because of the adaway for youtube ^^
Well if someone's working on a CM port I'd be interested in helping to test it.
Thatd be nice id help too for testing purposes im a very heavy user and this phone has been keeping up with me lately
I'll throw my vote in for a cm port. as well as another tester if needed. Dont have tons of experience, but I'll be happy to help where I can.
well im pretty sure theres going to be a bounty thread for it or any other rom ^^
hi guys,
i just ordered this phone and soon within this month hopefuly will land in my hands in india.
my question is cant we use sources of other SD 615 phones like MI4I, YUreka and TCL M3G to develop rom for our device/ or cant we use their roms with our stock kernel ???
as TCL M3G is already having cm 12.1 and MIUI V6 and several other roms on movilesdualsim forum

Can you use the computer chip from a v8 chevy in a v8 ford? The software has to match to the hardware. How is the software going to control the screen when they have different digitizers? Different sound cards. Just as with your pc the drivers have to match the hardware.

hahaha praying here too but we need their source code so that someone can work on a ROM for us
One of the CM maintainers, contacted me here on a PM today and requested files from the device. The work on the CM port will be started probably the next week. I will not disclose his ID for now in order to save him from possible questions on PMs. Probably CyanogenMod soon will be available for the Idol ... I just spread the news.
Cool, looking forward to it!

Thanks for the update! It's been quiet for a little bit regarding a CM port. Good to see it's still WIP.
While I look forward to having trees to build with, I find it kinda funny that they asked for files when a couple of them have the device already. Unless the files are from a different version?

It's best bang for your bucks for 300$. This phone is a beast it's flying through everything you throw at it and battery is crazy good.
There is some Roms for it if you like flashing them for different tastes. Roms are good, they similar I think just different flavours like I said, it work well most of them.
Should you buy it? Definitely you will be glad you did, Cheers

Yes Bootloader is unlocked easily, easiest phone to rooted for me.
yes and yes
but what about roms? lineage os? etc? seems like no one is working on this phone

What do you expect honestly? You want top of the range hardware AND top software and development AND you expect the phone to cost 250dollars? You cant have all of these things for such money. You want more software development? Buy oneplus 3t, it has exactly what you want. Same hardware as le pro 3, just smaller battery and better amoled screen, also costs 200dollars more. Dont want spending more? This ia best device for money, end of story
All roms are same or similar, function of the phone is the same. Just some people addicted of flashing them.
We need few roms that work good thats enough. This phone had more than few good roms.

There is official lineage os 13 running on my phone right now which works quite well. I do not count on Leeco to deliver nougat quickly, but at some point they most likely will or someone will find a way to make the camera work otherwise. And what exactly would you need it for? I want it too but "need", no.

I was afraid you would ask , it's relatively poor. Relatively! I use it "normally", meaning whatsapp, telegram, Facebook, emails, a smartwatch keeps Bluetooth on, and I check news like 5 times a day. With that and putting it in flight mode over night, it lasts 2 days with around 3 - 5 hours SOT. Turbo's roms lasted around 50 % longer, standby and SOT, but in 2 different versions of his my phone didn't collect emails and messages which is a no go for me.
And lastly, my previous LG G4 lasted one day under those conditions, so I'm still quite happy.

Compared to stock, not great. BUT, compared to other devices, it is comparable.
I don't want to open a new thread for one question so I will ask here:
does this phone have dual-4g or one of SIMs have to work on GSM, just like in le1 pro?
Dual 4g, I use Vodafone for everything and have another 3gb lte data only from t-mobile in slot 2 as backup.

I don't know if you have been keeping track, but Lineage 14.1 just arrived, so much for no1 working on this . If you like, join the developers channel, you should soon see feedback there. I'll do the update tomorrow since it's too late for me now and my kids will wake me at 6, 7 if I'm really lucky ^^.
Buy it without thinking too much it's the best choice for the price

Agreed
Future looks good,!
Considering the US Snapdragon S8/S8+/Note 8 and US carrier LG V30 do not have bootloader unlock yet, the Moto Z2 Force has development potential. The reason I got the Moto Z2 Force was bootloader unlockability with T-Mobile! I was so sick of US Snadragon S8+ bootloader lockdown, I got a 2nd phone that I could actually compile custom kernels for!
Exactly ?
this phone has finally pulled me out of the wood works and i am officially working on this device and no longer am going to lurk on xda. i have been building android for years and want to try to provide more to the community that has given so much to me already. i have a t-mobile unit i do not use and a at&t one i have as my daily driver. im ok with bricking both devices for this to progress forward.
i am working on building a few roms unofficially from a few sources as of now Resurrection remix boots but has far too many bugs to put in the wild. before anyone asks no i am not sharing until i have direct permission and a git setup for the entire build.

Cool deal bro, welcome to the show lol looking forward to more devs on this device and more roms to play with.
I am getting one of my at&t models replaced so once the rma for it shows up I'm going to try to get a root method on it and will not have to worry about bricking it since it already is getting replaced for the sound issues it has. stay tuned if i make progress i will update everyone.

dude, how many phones did get oreo ? even the recently launched op5t (next to pixel in software updates ) has nougat pre installed . wait for 2018, you will surely get. and believe me, Oreo already has battery drain bug and that's why 8.1 launched recently .
consider famous brands like s8 and note 8 , they are still using nougat.
Of all oreo devices out there now is in beta phase only.
so.. do you want slow update STABLE os or do u want fast update BUGGY os ? believe me, i have used honor 6 and oneplus 3 and i certainly felt like you before switching to oneplus 3 but the weekly or frequent updates made a headache for me. well that's may be just me. but it's also a fact. neither am against a company nor am favouring anyone but i just stated my point
I don't know if everybody here thinks wrong, or I am wrong . Honor v10 comes with Oreo out of the box.

dude, what about Nokias, HTC U11, U11+, some Honors already, Xperia XZ1, Compact, Xiaomi, and many others, not mentioning all with Android One program? And "consider famous brands like s8 and note 8 , they are still using nougat..." Well, thats just Samsung, never been so fast with updates, nor it's a famous brand, the s8 or note 8 (but you've meant models, not brand, right?).
Honor v10 comes with oreo and treble support, so you can't even compare that to pre oreo phones that were born with nougat. In theory the treble support and the fact that Huawei released the kernel sources for this phone straight away, should allow for some decent community development
On top of that, I think Huawei was just giving out 100 free devices to willing developers because they want to strenghth the custom rom community for this phone
I think honor really trying to compete with one plus by helping developers by providing all the hardware details and documentation to develop custom Roms for the Honor View 10 and with the treble support soon we will get many custom Roms. I hope developers will take interest in this device.

Which community? Since the bootloader is locked this device is crap for me. I will replace my Honor view 10 with an OnePlus . Cu
Dead.. Community development is bad.
Broken recoveries.
Difficult and buggy flash procedures that render different results.
What works on one phone isn'tguaranteed to work on the next of the same make and model.
Really nice hardware.. Just tedious flash procedures.
Many other companies willingly help developers... While honor steals improvements and then locks down their phones.
If you really want a flash friendly phone.. Huawei and honor isn't.
My next phone will be a Samsung Galaxy note 10 international version.
If you're looking for a development-friendly phone, Honor is not the solution for you. We do have a program where we give out bootloader unlock codes to a select number of people every once in a while, but there is no official support for unlocking your bootloader. This results is a very small development community.

why less custom roms

Yes custom Roms aren't what they used to be. There's still options though. We do have stable TWRP on A10, A11 is going to take time. Not everything happens overnight. Rooting isn't hard either really.

This is the real underlying cause of very few custom roms. It's also the cost of the device. many people can't afford a thousand bucks.

That's right. I'm flashing roms since my galaxy S1. Ive never had a phone without custom rom. But nowadays stock roms starting to be better an better. Even MIUI is a great rom if you debloat it a lot! Today I'm only rooted with a custom kernel. I don't want to miss OEM feature and just want to have a stable rom! And with OxygenOS we have it!
There are ROMs and there is root, we really don't need twrp.
Root is extremely easy, as is unlocking the bootloader.
Personally I'm not a fan of the dual slot system, I think it just confuses the crap out of people, but what can you do.
I'm coming from a Huawei p20 pro. If you think it's bad here, just check out the "development" over there, and they were thriving not so long ago, now it's just as dead as death over there.
(They actually made a development section for the p40 Pro lol why? )
We'll have development for some time yet and will more than likely be root and development for many years to come.
Plus the developers we have here, a lot of them are self taught so why wait for someone else to do it for you?
Make yourself a ROM..
I've done it before (many moons ago) its a great feeling making a ROM you made yourself that boots, of course if it's a non OOS ROM you'll need twrp but that'll come in due course.
I agree in part that development has declined but we should be grateful for what we do have, which is more than a lot of other devices..
I think partly with 1+ it's because the OS is already pretty damn good, plus OnePlus haven't exactly made it impossible for us to mod things..
I also look at another flagship phone that released this year, almost low to none custom ROMs.
Yes thx, I've been on pixels for the last few years & always on a custom rom. I got kona soon as I could and have been loving it. While I have used magisk modules and custom kernel, this is the first time in a really long time that I've stayed on the stock os. The os has came a long way and am thankful to have kona and wouldn't change it for nothing. I've really enjoyed this device so far. Anyway thanks for sharing and just thought I'd share my thoughts.

Aye I've done the same, even the pixel seems lacking.
Are we looking at it wrong though? I mean back on the HTC devices I've owned sure I did a tonne of flashing but I usually settled on 1 or 2 ROMs and we do have more than that here, so do we have what we need rather than what we want?
Lol I'm sure we'd all prefer the latter, I would too, but it's something to think about, I mean Paranoid Android is here, sure it's had less updates than an rtx 3090 but it's here
To add to what others are saying... Cooking a ROM is a very time consuming project. Not a lot of people want to spend the time on it anymore. When I first got a smart phone, it was an HTC touch diamond. Windows phone OS. Back then, tons of people were learning to create custom ROMs and mods for them. That has slowly dwindled over time. On Android, ROMs were mostly created to get AOSP ported to most devices. Nowadays, all phones have custom hardware that needs a factory ROM to be useful. AOSP is not very desirable as it is the most basic form of Android with only basic functionality for mostly Pixel phones. Most people are now only concerned with using a debloated stock ROM and rooting for modules etc. This is the norm. I don't think it will change. It is what things have evolved into over time.
Also we can install treble ROMs can't we?
I've talked about this before.
There should be dedicated sections for functional treble ROMs where common issues can be laid bare so they can at least be worked on with specific device owners.
Asking a question about your own device in a treble thread seldom gets an answer.
AFAIK we'd need twrp unless Fastboot can be used? Not sure, have only managed to get one treble ROM to boot back on the p20 pro when I had it unlocked.
Most of it worked if memory serves..I'll give them a whirl next time I Bork my system or i get bored and will make a thread detailing which ones work.
i will never go for huawei

never allow us to open boot loader. u cant even root. i sold p30 pro after using it for 3 months. i always come back to android because we can root. other wise iphone is better in all the departments and it has value also. but if android is same as ios i.e closed eco system then who needs it. we do flashing etc because its fun. as a doctor this things makes me feel; good because i do something (rooting etc) which is beyond my profession. which is fun and entertaining

Actually I couldn't disagree more.
Point being the OS even without root is still better, still more open and content is still better.
Think Apple TV Vs Shield TV Pro, I can play Wii, GameCube, Dreamcast, arcade, neogeo, SNES, megadrive, Atari, Amiga, spectrum commodore, Amstrad, pc engine, pc games, Android games, can watch any movie, listen to any music, connect any controller (multiple controllers) wired or wireless, have it as a searchable Nas drive in my network, watch IPTV through it.
Apple TV can be used for apps like Netflix, that is it.
No file manager, no emulators, nothing.
iOS is not better than Android, not even close, maybe the camera and that's due to singular hardware.
Also Huawei/ honor devices DID allow bootloader unlocking, I know this as I unlocked my p20 pro they stopped it in July 2018 and then reopened it briefly in late 2018, nothing since.
Before this time it was always open, they partnered with XDA to promote their devices and then when they gathered ground they pulled the rug out from underneath everyone's feet, Huawei are slime, they deserve to be hit financially.
Anyone who bought a p30 or p40 is either not bothered about rooting or doesn't want the latest and greatest hardware (Mali GPU is horrific, Kirin is a joke)
If anyone does buy Huawei, they're contributing to the problem as they're still giving money to a company who went against everything that Android stands for.
There is literally no point of there being a P40 forum or P30. It's not even Android in my eyes.
The only way that will reverse is if people stop buying from Huawei/honor, if you're not part of the solution you're part of the problem.
Going back to Apple, the only device I like from them is their MacBook Pro simply for it's trackpad as I love the features it offers, but as an OS? No I'm always the phone nor OSX can cut it Vs Windows/Android..
And would you pay £2,500 for the privilege of using their trackpad? No I'd rather buy a top gaming rig.
It'll always be this way, Jesus iOS just got widgets lmfao,, welcome to 2007 Apple, haha.
And you think is better? You must be joking.
