[GUIDE] Enable VoLTE & VoWiFi on all devices NO ROOT. - OnePlus 8 Guides, News, & Discussion

This is a quick guide on how to enable VoLTE and VoWIFI on every OnePlus 8 or 8 Pro device.
This method involves downgrading the OnePlus LogKit APK to the OnePlus 7 version.
I recommend you to backup the existing LogKit APK using ADB on a
Or download an APK extractor from the Play Store, i personally recommend: https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...m.ext.ui&hl=nl
After you extracted the original LogKit you need to download the old LogKit which you can find as an attachment in the thread.
Install the downloaded LogKit APK and follow the steps:
1. Open the Dialer app on the device.
2. dial *#800# and LogKit will open up.
3. Scroll all the way down and click on Function Switch (this is missing from the stock OnePlus 8 LogKit APK).
4. Select VoLTE and when prompted to reboot, press cancel.
5. Select VoWifi and when prompted to reboot press OK.
6. Your device will now reboot and you should have VoLTE & VoWifi enabled.
7. Reinstall the backup from the LogKit apk (VoLTE & VoWifi should still be enabled when you reinstall the backed up LogKit apk).
The above has been tested to work in The Netherlands.
If you have followed the steps, please let me know what your results are!

My device OnePlus 8 / IN2010

Works but..
Tested on oneplus 8, in Europe. VoLTE works without any problems, but VoWifi has issues, meaning I see the VoWifi symbol constantly disappear and the phone goes to cellular calling mode, then it appears again and so on, despite having the Call on Wifi set as priority in settings. I have no idea why it does this, it's like it is losing the handshake between itself and the mobile operator's network for Wifi Calling.
Very often I see VoLTE symbol instead of the VoWifi despite the fact that my wifi network is fine.
When it loses the Wifi Calling, it happens randomly, for 5 minutes or for more. I have to either switch to airplane mode or restart the phone sometimes to get VoWifi working again.
Any idea what else could be done? I have even done the QPST changes, activating the India vodafone VoLTE for Sub0 and Sub1 and still, same issue.
I have the International/Global firmware on it, not the European one.
Network: Orange Romania

I have same issues with me my one plus 8 (N2013 model)
I haven't tried QPST changes
Volte button and force vowifi button have disapear since change carrier from one who doesn't support Volte/vowifi (Orange Fr) to Bouygues Telecom (France)
Volte working fine, vowifi just time to time like you have explain very randomly

It would be really nice if OnePlus would give us an update to the Log Kit so we didn't need to do this.

Do you have the original logkit? I miss make backup

Using t-mobile branded OP was able to enable, but the icon is not there.

Just an FYI to anyone wondering: I bought the IN2015 model directly from OnePlus. VoLTE and VoWiFi both work right out of the box with T-Mobile (I'm in the Philadelphia area). I didn't even have to turn them on, they were already enabled.

It seems that after I switched back to EU firmware, from Global, I no longer have problems with VoWifi. I also switched in QPST from India Vodafone to Telia Finland, but even with Telia, when I was using the global firmware, I would still have issues with VoWifi constantly disconnecting. Now, with the EU firmware, seems to work with 0 problems. I have it like this for 3 days now, and VoWifi stays on all the time when I am conencted to a wifi network.
You may want try to switch to Telia Finland in qpst PDC app and check afterwards. Also install the older logkit apk to be able to enable the volte and vowifi buttons.

Do you have a backup of the original logkit i saved it badly?
Thank you in advance for your help.

Qualcomm Driver (Install on PC / preferable inside Virtual Machine, select WWAN option) - https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=11410963190603864074
Oneplus Engineering Mode (Install on phone) - https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/oneplu...-apk-download/3. Install Oneplus Engineering Mode
4. Phone Dialer > Enter *#801# > Open with Engineering Mode > enable "Full-port Switch"
5. Connect phone to PC
6. Run PDC Program
7. Select Qualcomm device
8. Note down the current configuration (where "Active" is shown)
9. Activate India-VoLTE Vodafone (Right Click > Set SelectedConfig > Sub0 and Sub1)

Does not work when using an AT&T mvno. They're notorious for preventing users from using VoLTE and VoWIFI if its not a carrier branded device so this doesn't surprise me.

(5.0.2+5.1) (UPDATED 08/27/2016) How to: Use Verizon Moto E (2015) on ANY GSM network

Please follow the updated directions provided by Bendrexl below before attempting any other methods.

Here's a roundup of essential steps from this thread that worked for me...
:good: HUGE THANKS to: Whoareyou, docna, caspar347, Dishe
Prepare for battle:
Ensure your Verizon Moto E 2015 is configured for USB debugging.
Ensure your Verizon Moto E 2015 has airplane mode enabled.
Ensure your PC/Mac has the Android SDK Platform Tools installed & accessible via your terminal / command line (added to $PATH var).
Download 5.0.2 factory image: http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-e-2015/general/stocks-firmwares-moto-e-t3113235/page2?nocache=1 (Thanks to caspar347!)
Unzip / expand this .zip archive.
Open a terminal session in the directory you just unzipped (containing NON-HLOS.bin & fsg.mbn)
Execute!
In your terminal with phone plugged in:
$ adb reboot bootloader (your phone should now reboot into bootloader, wait for this)
$ fastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin
$ fastboot erase modemst1
$ fastboot erase modemst2
$ fastboot flash fsg fsg.mbn
$ fastboot reboot (WAIT for phone to fully boot before continuing)
$ adb shell (your command prompt will change to something like [email protected]_cdma:/ $. If you get kicked out of the session while entering the next commands, just type adb shell again and pick up where you left off)
[email protected]_cdma:/ $ pm clear com.android.providers.telephony
[email protected]_cdma:/ $ settings put global preferred_network_mode 9
[email protected]_cdma:/ $ settings put global preferred_network_mode1 9
[email protected]_cdma:/ $ settings put global preferred_network_mode2 9
[email protected]_cdma:/ $ pm hide com.motorola.setupwizard.phoneservice (optional)
[email protected]_cdma:/ $ exit (or just unplug & reboot phone)
$ adb reboot (or just unplug & reboot phone)
On the phone:
Turn off Airplane mode
Open Settings app > More > Cellular Networks
Ensure Preferred network type selected is "4G (recommended)"
Under Access Point Names, add the appropriate APNs for your specific carrier. (for Fi data, I only needed "h2g2").
Disable all Verizon apps through settings or Titanium Backup. (Optional)

Background Info: I work at Walmart in the Connection Center, and today I had a customer wanting to switch to Family Mobile from AT&T, so I showed them our Family Mobile devices and T-Mobile Devices, they didnt seem interested in them and said they wanted somthing that had Android 5.0 Lollipop, I thought about it for a minute and remembered that the Moto E (2015) shipped with Lollipop installed, I also knew that Verizon phones come unlocked, so I showed them the device and they decided to go with it, they bought the Family Mobile Micro SIM starter kit, and the Moto E, but once I powered it on, I couldn't get it to connect to Family Mobile, so I tried to access the advanced radio menu (*#*#4636#*#*) to no avail, but I eventually got it working, with full LTE support, heres how:
POSSIBLE SIM SWAP WORKAROUND (Reported by wogeboy):
Disable vzwAPNpermissions.apk and vzwAPNservice.apk using this program: http://bit.ly/1HHyVao
I have not tested this as I dont have a VZW Moto E to test it on.
5.1 Updated Instrcutions:
With the SIM you want to use the the phone :
1. Put the phone into Airplane mode (I'm not sure this is needed, but it doesn't hurt)
2. Go to Settings -> About Phone and tap on "Build Number" until it says you are in Developer Mode (~10 times)
3. Go back one menu, and right above About Phone there should now be an option for Developer Options, go into that.
4. Turn on USB Debugging
5. Connect the phone to your computer and type "adb shell" in your CMD window
6. Run the following commands in adb shell :
pm clear com.android.providers.telephony
settings put global preferred_network_mode 9
settings put global preferred_network_mode1 9
settings put global preferred_network_mode2 9
7. Turn off Airplane mode
8. Power off and Restart the phone
9. Open up the settings app, go to the mobile networks panel, select "Prefered Network Mode" and change it to "4G"
10. Input the appropriate APNs for your specific carrier
11. (Optional). Disable all Verizon apps through settings or Titanium Backup.
CREDIT: docna
.
5.0.2 Instructions:
1. Power on the device with the GSM SIM card in the SIM card slot
2. Connect to WiFi and complete Google Sign-In
3. Go to the Play Store and search "Network" download the first app (A white circle with a black phone in it) (This will allow us access to the advance radio options)
4. Open the "Network" shortcut
5. Change the radio mode from "CDMA/LTE PRL" to "GSM/LTE Auto"
6. Open up the settings app, go to the mobile networks panel, select "Prefered Network Mode" and change it to "4G"
7. Input the appropriate APNs for your specific carrier
8 (Optional). Disable all Verizon apps through settings or Titanium Backup.
The only thing I couldnt solve was how to remove the "SIM Card is not from Verizon Wireless" error in the status bar permanently, but thats just an annoyance, and causes no usability decrease.
This Works!
Thanks a lot, had been trying to get the GSM working. The "Network" app in the Play Store give access to the hidden radio selection menu. Verizon was able to disable all other way to enter the radio selection menu but this one did it. I think there is a apk file somewhere which disables the annoying "NOT verizon SIM" message. I will post here if I find that works.
That's a lot easier than poking around in NVram! Thanks, OP. And yeah, there's a Setup app or something you need to freeze for then sim error. I'll have to get mine out and find it.
Here are screen snaps. The VZ phone is actually picking up LTE for Ting (T-Mobile).

Thanks a ton for this! Do you know what the APN setting should be for T-Mobile? That's my current challenge. Every site has a different opinion. Including T-Mobile.
APN: fast.t-mobile.com
MMSC: http://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc
that should be all you have to set
Method Works on SPRINT AND BOOST too
Thanks

The device may not support Ukrainian bands, check with your carrier to see what band they use for HSPA/LTE
I'll have to get mine out and find it.
This only kinda works with T-Mobile. No LTE or 3G, just edge - and that keeps disconnecting and reconnecting about once every minute or so. I'll have to look into the return/exchange policy if I can't get data working.

Yep. See my snapshot above for Ting GSM (T-Mobile) in Florida. 4G LTE indicated.
I figured it out. With WiFi on my cell signal strength fluctuates wildly, but as soon as I turn off the WiFi the signal settles down, and I get a solid LTE connection averaging about 32Mbps. Strange, but I've seen crazier things.
Side note, the XT1528 is not eligible for the Motorola unlock program, and cannot be rooted by any method currently available. Several "one click root" tools claim to support it, but don't actually work.

That root thread won't root the XT1528?
Root must be flashed with a custom recovery, which in turn requires that the boot loader be unlocked. Since the boot loader on the XT1528 can't be unlocked, we can't use that root technique.

[GUIDE] How to enable VOLTE working in RR without Jio4gvoice app

Here is a guide how to enable VOLTE in RR without Jio4gvoice app.
Supported ROM :
RR 5.7.4
Instructions
1. Open ES File manager and enable hidden folder. Search .Jio4gvoive folder delete it. Then delete jio4g app and voice app.
2. Now again install jio4g voice app and register through it.
3. Now Delete Jio4gvoice app.
4. Open dialer and dial *#*#4636#*#* .
5. Scroll to end and open OEM specific settings.
6. And turn on MBN AUTO LOAD, volte debug, VT DEBUG, WFC DEBUG. ( After clicking on it will show turn off so don't get confused with it. )
7. In SIM Settings Disable Connected line indetification & open APN settings.
8. And If you have loop APN just edit APN "www" to "jionet" and save it. Keep APN PROTOCOL AND ROAMING PROTOCOL TO "IPv4" otherwise internet will not work.
9. Now reboot to recovery and wipe dalvik cache and cache only.
10. Restart your device and open dialer.
Workaround :
If you are not getting network in jio then open system ui tuner by pressing on settings icon in Qs panel or search it in setting.
Then add tiles "LTE" . Now enable LTE from QS Panel(check screenshot) You will get network.
If you are getting volte icon like volte1 and volte2 then volte is enable. Just try to call and enjoy. If it's help just click thanks.
If anyone is on lineage os try this and report me back if it's working on it too then I will edit it to lineage os too.
Those who will publish this guide in their site please give proper credits.

Not this one but simple trick worked for me given by @TechGeekD without first step
no need to download any application to fix VoLTE
1). clean install latest build
2). goto settings -> SIM cards
3). set cellular data to Jio 4g & Calls to Jio
4). goto SIM 1 settings (or SIM 2 settings if Jio is in sim slot 2 )
5). see if Enhanced 4G LTE Mode is enabled or not !! enable it if not
6). goto Access Point Names (aka APN)
7). select 3 dot menu press Reset to default
8). add new APN with settings given below
APN SETTINGS
Name: ims
APN: IMS
APN Type : IMS
(notice one thing APN Type & APN is written in Capital !!!)
do not restart thats the bug ims setting stays there but not visible in settings cause after restarting we can not add new ims setting with same APN and APN Type but simple tweaking with APN & APN Type will fix it (but still don't restart after VoLTE gets working it will be gone again and you can't tweak it now)
Edit :- Selinux needs tobe on permissive mode

Did you tried these workaround? Can you get volte icon in dialer in front of sim1 and sim2? If you are able to call through jio4g voice app. Follow steps from starting like deleting .jio4g voice folder and all that. These were tested personally by me in RR . If nothing works I better recommend you to flash 19s eui then clean flash lineage latest rom ( for bugs report to rom's threads) don't try to flash any other bootloader or modem files. As @codeworkx also mentioned that lineage is nothing to do with bootloader or modem. Note - MM have issues but nougat don't.

Try other JIO sim from a VoLTE supported phone.
OR
Put your JIO sim in other phone which have VoLTE working then put it back to your phone, try both method because this helped me sometimes.

VoLTE Enable in K3 note

I tested in Following Roms:
Vivo funtouch OS
Lenovo k4 note ported ROM
Miui 8 (marshmallow)
This is for all MTK devices which is support VoLTE. But lenovo k3 note is need more mod for VoLTE.
This is not working for me.
Steps to use VOLTE in Lenovo k3 note :
Part 1 :
Go to settings > SIMs and networks > APNs > (Select the jio sim) > Add APN (we will have to use two APNs here - so add them if not present)
1st APN will be to use 4G data with Jionet as APN and default as apn type , dont touch the other fields (probably you will be using this by now)

2nd APN will be to call and send sms through VOLTE. - use the following settings :
Name : ims
APN : ims
APN type : ims
APN protocol : ipv4 / ipv6
Do not touch the other fields. - > Save

Part 2 : This is a little complex part for normal users as this involves engineering mode edits.
"Proceed with caution"
Enter engineering mode by dialing *#*#3646633#*#* from your phone dialer or download MTK Engineering Mode from playstore.
Go to Connectivity menu by swyping one time to the left from Telephony menu.
Select CDS information > Multiple APN
Now you see a list MMS will be the first option with down arrow, click on that and
select IMS and click START button.
4. Now come back two times and swype right to see Telephony menu in engineering mode.
Click on IMS
Click on USSD > Ussd Support > select ON and set

5. Again come to common menu (inside IMS menu)
Select operator_code > select VoLTE_Operator_RJIL from the big list > click on set

6. Come back twice (to IMS menu)
Click on Common > mncmcc check > select OFF and set

DONE .. Now click home button, exit engineering mode and check for HD voice symbol. If you see that , try calling any number from the default dialer - Fast method is to call the customer care number 199 to check if the calls are getting connected or not.
Now everything is setup.
If your phone is not showing HDvoice symbol beside the battery icon even if the HD voice is turned ON in settings (it will be next to data sim selection), try to turn off the sim and start it back (Just go to airplane mode and come back), check.
Why is this not working for you?

Just follow this above steps at any of custom ROM by chance it will be work. This procedure is work in many MTK Devices.
If it is not work any of Roms the update is only given via OTA by lenovo developers.
I couldn't find cds information under connectivity. How will i proceed further?
This method is actually working for many other devices but in Engineering Mode in K3 Note, under telephony menu, there is no option of IMS. If some developer or any coding savvy user could make IMS option available in Telephony Menu of the Engineer mode, we could proceed further and try this method fully and there is a high chance of success.
This method does not seems to work after doing the apn thing. I can't even access engineering mode using the above mentioned number.

lenovo k3 note VoLTE
guys there is proof that k3 note doesnt have VoLTE
as volte requires the band of 800 mhz ,1000mhz and relatively lower frequencies which is not supported by k3 note
so i believe there is no point in researching on it it is like trying to reinvent a wheel!!

VoWIFI not working?

I have enabled ViWIFI by dialing *#*#869434#*#* and I have activated Make calls using Wi-Fi and turned "Network preferences" to Prefer Wi-FI.
I work in construction down below where I don't have any signal but I do have stable wifi. People can't reach me nor can I reach them. I can only get in contact in certain spots, and I assume that's because I'm getting a phone signal, and not the Wifi kicking in. Is this down to the phone carrier, or doesn't it work with this phone? Is it possible that work disabled this feature on their network?
For me the same and I am interested too if someone has a solution to get that work.
Yes, for me both works fine. Have volte and vowifi with my RN7 working. For vowifi I need to modify the modem by editing with Qualcomm pdc / qfil tool.

I've got QPST, PDC etc. all working and my device is showing up.
My phone comes up with Row_Commercial showing Sub 1 as active and everything else inactive.
First I changed Row_Commercial's sub 0 and sub 1 to active... Rebooted the phone and tested my VoWiFi... Still not working on T-Mobile.
I then reset my Row_Commercial setting back to how they were.
Second:
I set commercial_MTS Sub 0 & Sub 1 to active like you mentioned.
Did the same steps as above rebooted the phone and still am unable to use VoWiFi.
Even went through with the *#*#VOWIFI*#*# toggle... Rebooted the phone and still am unable to use VoWiFi.
Which carrier are you using?
Wonder if mine is blocking my VoWiFi access
So I've checked out this thread and downloaded the TMO-Commercial MBN file. Loaded it into PDC as instructed and with Sub 0 activated, I'm able to now see the VoLTE icon on top of my screen. My phone shows VoWiFi and VoLTE are switched on in the *#*#4636#*#* menu as before (see screenshot).
(Funny thing is I found with both Sub0 & Sub1 activated VoWiFi is greyed out on the 4636 menu).
I can now select VoWiFi which I couldn't do before however when I chose it nothing happens. ( see video)
Getting closer... Hopefully we can get this working on T-Mobile... Fingers crossed

Found some information about vowifi activation on other Xiaomi phones, provider Digi Romania, using PDC tool. I'm tried to activate the vowifi service (volte already working, same provider) using PDC tool (changed profile to "DT Greece") but without success.
Can you share some additional information about PDC & vowifi, need specified MIUI/firmware version?

Which profile did you use? ROW_Commercial which was activated only provides VoLTE. Activating e.g. AIRtel_Commercial results in working VoWifi, but broken VoLTE :/ Und unfortunately the profiles mentioned in https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=78133826&postcount=23 don't exist.
Edit: Extracted some configs from non-hlos.bin, it contained a "Telefonica Germany Commercial" mbn file, unfortunately no luck with VoWifi so far.

No need to use extra *.bin.
Just use pdc tool and select DT_Poland_commercial.
Have vowifi and volte working with o2 Germany.
But after last update (xiaomi.eu) 11.0.2 Android 10 the volte Symbole doesn't appear. But it is working.
Check when doing a call and the network don't change from 4g to gsm. Also check with ussd code *#*#4636#*#* -> telephone info 1 or 2 -> more -> IMS Service Status "voice over lte available"
Thanks for the hint, here it works now also with DT_Poland_commercial. But really strange it doesn't work with the MBN for Tef_Germany_Commercial.
I'm wondering if my phone is now stuck on T-Mobile regarding roaming networks. I'm in the Netherlands now and the phone is only in T-MobileNL instead of using KPN like my work phone does (using also o2).

Same here. The messege "QMI connection not ready, please use USB driver version 1.00.32 or later and fix the connection before using PDC tool" appear and not work. Tested multiple Qualcomm drivers, multiple miui distributions, nothing.
Tried to enable VoLTE & VoWIFI on my Redme 9 Pro, using the PDC and can actually get the VoWIFI works. However, once the device reboot, it just fall back to the ROW_Commercial profile and have to redo again to get it work.
Do not know if this happened on other Redmi series?
Can anyone help with this issue?
On my poco f3 i have figured out with PDC but after reboot the values reset...any fix for this?
Could anyone tell where the config's are stored. I was on Android 11 - now switch back to Miui to do the changes via PDC. I did a backup of the EFS patition via OrangeFox. Then flash an Android 12.1 Rom. Restore EFS None of the custom Roms works with VoWifi
Any suggestions?

How to turn on Wifi-Calling and VoLTE on 8T after update

Hello everyone!
Finally I've find way to turn on Volte and Wifi calling back on 11.3.4 and 11.4.5!
When i bought the phone on the stock version i had aviability to turn on VoLte and WifiCalling, but after 2 updates - 11.3.4 and 11.4.5, dont why this options gone.
Little guide how to bring back this option on your phone:
1. Use this app "Apk Extractor" to backup your currently Logkit
(https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ext.ui&hl=pl&gl=US)
2. Download this version of Logkit: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1bQYKY6tI5O37yXVyXpFYdOHIvMB9iuMt/view
3. Now, open the dialer app and dial *#800# to access the menu.
4. Scroll down and tap the Function switch option and turn on VoLte and WiFi calling.
5. Reboot phone
6. Check Sim & Network option
7. After that reinstal your backup Logkit!

I do now have the option to turn on wifi calling! However when I toggle it on, it does not stay on. KB05AA on Verizon wireless.
Thanks now I can see mine and it's already on?
Can someone upload the backup of the original apk. I kinda didn't do that. Lol thanks I'm advance. Also mine doesn't stick either. I am on verizon as well.

You can just look for it in the apps, make sure you press "show system app" and after you found the logkit, press "Uninstall updates"

You can also activate VoLTE by changing MBN with Qualcomm PDC like OP5/6/7 but you must be rooted now
Follow the guide here

It can be usefull just for using software with your parameters / Carrier
hi, i don't find logkit apk in apk extractor. however I displayed the system applications
have an idea why?
i tired to enable volte and vowifi and both are enabled but still no volte or vowifi on my old phone it worked fine same sim in th e8t and its not working any ideas?
Thanks for this. Just tried and I now have the WiFi calling option and it works fine (for Vodafone UK).
Funny thing is even when I reinstall the extracted (backed up) logkit it still doesn't revert to the original one. Uninstalling updates also does revert back but it fine. I can't imagine there's any harm in using the downloaded one.

In OOS12 and ColorOS12 access to logkit and engineering mode were somewhat hidden by developers.
The easiest way to access toggles is obtained with root access and Magisk.
Just install attached module. Enable VoLTE and VoWiFi toggles.
Thank you! Works flawlessly!
