Downgrade camera on Android 9 - Samsung Galaxy S8 Questions and Answers

I've been trying to downgrade the camera cause I really need the vĂdeo pro mode. I'm on Android 9 and I have root. Does anyone have tried this?

I tried it for about a week, and no joy. I tried extracting the APK from an Oreo S8 and couldn't get it to work on PIE (even with root). The app wouldn't install, even after editing version information.
I then spent about a month trying to downgrade pie to oreo on s8 (using combination file and also trying dirty flash), and couldn't get that to work.
I would contribute to a bounty for this ($300, if that's allowed), as the Oreo S8 camera rocks, and pie sucks.

Having trouble updating my Oneplus 5 from Nougat to Oreo

I've been trying to do this for a few days and unfortunately the problem just seems to get worse. The only ROMs that work are Nougat roms such as the ResurrectionRemix I'm running currently. Sadly, this is my second time coming back to it and more and more phone functions keep failing. For example, at this moment WiFI and the fingerprint reader are out of commission. Whenever I try to flash an Oreo Rom I get an error message in red.
If anyone can help I would appreciate it!

How do I install pixel experience on my Moto g5 plus XT1686?

I have rooted my device and have TWRP installed but I found out in some old Post in this frum that I have to roll back to nougat to install pixel experience. Is it still the case with the latest version of pixel experience? Since I'm new to rooting devices and this is my first time flashing a ROM, do I need anything other than the pixel experience zip file? Any kind of help will be appreciated.
The latest versions are based on Oreo firmware so if you are in Stock Oreo you can simply make a clean flash for the latest PE zip and that's all. I did it that way even without knowing I had to be in stock Oreo and it worked perfectly.

Screen auto-rotation

I know this is a mostly dead platform, but figured it was worth a shot to ask. My Trek 2 stopped auto-rotating the screen awhile back while it was stock. I had not updated in awhile, so I tossed in an AT&T sim to get it up to date. I did not notice it at first (I use the tablet intermittently) but I am almost certain that update coincided with the screen no longer rotating.
After several months and being tired of manually rotating the screen I took the time to put AOKP on it. Part of my desire was hoping to resolve the screen rotation. It did not. But, I did see a comment in one of the ROM threads where it looked liked someone had the identical issue and it might be related to the software or a minor difference in hardware. Does anyone have any ideas?
Some K88 tablets' auto-rotating only works with MM, not Nougat. Check your current firmware. It will be 7.0.1 or something above 7.0.0, not 6.X.X
The only solution is by flashing K88 back to MM. Sometimes, directly flashing B33 still may not work. So I recommend to flash B31, and then upgrade to B33, but not again to Nougat. Once update to Nougat, then the auto-rotating will not work again. I tried all custom firmware(nougat + oreo), but my K88 auto-rotating is not working with them.
To flash back to B31, you need to install TWRP using jasminetool. And then directly flash B31 stock firmware.

Thanks for chiming in! Any idea what the limitation is? I have LineageOS installed right now, it runs great other than the rotation issue. It looks like all of the custom ROMs are Nougat based, is my only option to go back to stock to get auto-rotation back?

OOS camera apk on RROS?

I know this might be an unpopular opinion... But I friggin LOVE oxygen OS camera app. I got my OP8P all dressed up with TWRP in both recovery slots, magisk installed, and resurrection remix flashed... Aaannnd I hate the camera app.
I really reeaaaallllly want the oxygen OS camera... I tried installing a few apks from apkmirror and only one out of 7 I tried worked. The ones that didn't work just showed a blank screen. The one that got past that, couldn't select any options at all, and immediately FC'd the moment you touched screen.
Can anyone guide me on how to get the OOS camera app working on RROS? If I'm going to be stuck without it... I'll have to dump RROS, and that would be sad panda ? time.
Thanks in advance.
Totally agree, have said this to all the non OOS threads, plus FHD over QHD.
Main reason why I wouldn't switch from OOS.
Id say it's possible but not by simply installing the camera APK.

Is there an android oreo stable rom?

I tested many oreo roms but quick tile doesn't work, on some camera too and on few of them, bluetooth address was 00:00:00:00:5A:AD and it enables after 6 or 7 seconds
I also tested the stock oreo rom but if you delete chrome or modify it, many Google apps stops working
Well, after trying many times stock oreo rom and other roms, i finally decided to go to stock oreo, but i feel kinda limited on things like dark theme and some few things, substratum didn't help
