RevOS-MIUI rumoured to have added support for Mi Mix 5g - Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 5g Questions & Answers

Does anybody have experience with this rom? They mentioned on a twitter post earlier this week that support for Mi Mix 5g will be added soon.
https://twitter.com/RevOSTechs/status/1260523438877429763/photo/1

I think I'm going to try it right now.

Please report back how it goes, especially with functionality. They are claiming MIUI 12 so I am keen to see what is and isn't working.

I have successfully downloaded and flashed it! ?
Hello,
I am here, from Kuala Lumpur, MY
As for now, so far so good. Need to experience more the latest miui12!
See yeah!

I'd say the same. Everything works well except for some minor minor bugs with the dark mode and 3rd part apps (like SwiftKey) and the fact that it's not that fast and smooth as the previous one I had (pixel experience). The main camera app works as well and video recording works too (but for some reason it records only up to 1080p 60 fps). The main question I have now is about the battery drain. I hope it's at least as optimized as the pixel experience is.

Great reports,
Interesting about the video working to 1080p. Any idea if 5g connectivity is working?
I wonder what they have based this on as there is only MIUI 11 beta ROM in circulation as far as I know and this registers as MIUI12.

I think they kinda ported the ROM from the one for the Xiaomi K20 Pro since they have quite the same hardware. I read once that, even if it's very risky, you can force flash a K20 ROM on the Mi MIX 3 and it will boot anyway. Unfortunately I can't test the 5G network, BUT:
There's no "Tethering USB" option in the settings. This functionality is disabled for some reason.
There's no "Hotspot" option in the settings. This functionality is disabled too :crying:
The ROM is quite laggy (Don't know if it's because of a conservative governor or if it's just about a bad optimization).
I think I'll roll back to pixel experience, too many problems that need to be solved yet.

I flashed it on the global version and got a lot of problems like loosing my EMEI and so on. Luckily I had a backup. But I don't want to go back to Android 9, do you have a link to the PE rom? Thanks.
Btw, it is the rom from the Mi8SE.

Here's the link to the repository with all the ROMs for Andromeda:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/xiaomi-andromeda/files/
Just tap on the green button saying "download the latest version" and it will download the PE. Or just go into the Pixel Experience directory and find the latest one =)
I also suggest you to install the 78 Hz dtbo, it's freaking smooth

The official RevOS website says, that the 5g rom is a port from the mi8SE firmware.
I tried it again and now it seems to work. But I can't set the Fingerprint. Did you tested the Fingerprint and if yes, was it working?

Guys, is this an official ROM of MIUI for MIX3 5G? It will be update normally?

Actually I don't remember of testing the fingerprint scanner, but it's always the first thing I set during the first set-up, so I don't remember if it worked on my phone or if I skipped that step XD
A porting from a completely different phone with a different SoC family and model, different modem (and it's not even compatible for the 5G), different screen type and resolution? The only thing matching between the Mi 8 SE and the Mi Mix 3 5g is the main camera sensor XD And I'm not even considering that there are different approaches to the light sensor/proximity sensor and so on. I mean, why?

Maybe the challenge strange, I haven't got any set up screen. Straight into the launcher. I will test PE instead. Sounds promising, thanks for that.

No? There isn't even the official MIUI 11 for the Mi MIX 3 5G. This is a porting from the MIUI 12 ROM for the Mi 8 SE apparently, made by this RevOS Russian team.

Me neither, but then there was the Google notification to complete the setup of the phone and I did it.
Yeah, I'm using it now and it's absolutely perfect. The video recording is the only thing missing.

please could you provide a guide to install this rom? i have a virgin mi mix 3 5g and can't wait to get this update. thanks

The MIUI 12 is absolutely unofficial, and way far to be something barely stable XD
Anyway, every custom ROM for the Mi Mix 3 5G is Unofficial.

No I don't think they will, the Mi MIX 5G is (officially?) abandoned, although there is a petition here:
https://www.change.org/p/xiaomi-corporation-upgrade-mi-mix-3-5g-flagship-to-miui-11
So maybe Xiaomi will notice that that wasn't a fair and smart move, I mean, forgetting about their first 5G smartphone (and in general, one if not the first 5G smartphone ever made), with top-notch features, initially sold for around 600$ is nearly like a scam.
Anyway, I don't suggest you install the Revos porting at the moment. It lacks many basic features (such as USB tethering or the Wi-Fi hotspot) and it's very, very laggy.

lol ... Your account should be banned.
i think there's two, and i've tried them both - but back on v5 if that helps. both can be downloaded here: http://www.miui.com/download-110.html
the first one is miui_i9505_shiro_5.5.22_297f4c9327_4.4.zip - works ok but google apps won't work & I can't get titanium to run (freezes at 'checking for sqllite'). I've tried both clean flash and dirty on top of v5. In a clean flash wifi won't enable.
the second one is miui_i9505_rainbow_5.5.22_6a27167d52_4.4.zip - everything was great with this apart from one thing, 3rd party apps can't switch on mobile data. this is shown as 4.4 kitkat so might not be linnked to the lollipop changes, but even with a rooted phone various toggles i tried & more importantly automateit couldn't enable mobile data (it can disable no problem).
so for me, one has wifi probs, the other data toggle probs. both deal breakers so i'm back on the one here.
another Shiro version released today, same link as above. trying it later...
edit: still hates titanium.
Are there any mirror for these downloads? I cannot do better than 3K/s
I'm surprised people actually want to run MIUI. As good as it's interface is, and as beautiful as it runs, it ain't a patch on any TW ROM. Very strange.
And I use a genuine Xiaomi phone as well!!

I don't see why people like MIUI vs TouchWiz or AOSP, or CM.
MIUI is big and bloated and slow and full of Chinese unnecessary dog****. The Redmi Note 4G (my phone) runs MIUI V6 and seems to have lots of problems but when I flashed a Lollipop CM12, improved hellishly, but no camera so I couldn't keep it

not bothered about convincing anyone else tho.

Oh I wasn't looking for an argument, was just hoping you could tell me what I'm missing when I switch away. The phone I have right now, runs MIUI, so trust me, I've got lots of experience, but to me, it just isn't worth the bother. Plus, their update cycle is painful.
I guess it depends though, if you're a developer MIUI really isn't for you, but perhaps as a user, it might be more appealing. I find MIUI a really awkward platform to develop on.

[ROM] [HELP] [RR] [64bit] [5.1.1]

Hi!!
I need seriously help with Resurrection Remix ROM which ported to especially for Lenovo a6000 Plus, it has 64 bit OS (author: Amodindo). You can found the ROM here: http://www.techolite.com/34318/lenovo-a6000-resurrection-remix-rom-5-8-8-64-bits.html
This is very very great ROM, nice performance and battery usage and lots of feature. But unfortunately this ROM has annoying bug, if you try to lock GPS to the satellites with maps or other GPS info app, your phone will rebooted instantly. Yup this is very annoying bug especially if you use your phone for navigating or play with geo-location based games. So if you a developer or an expert. Please help with make a fix for this bugs, that will be great help for author of the ROM and user who love this ROM
For your help, Thanks

Wait until tomorrow. I will test for any other bugs. GPS didn't reboot my phone but will check again. And I have no idea what the 'no SIM' bug is but my phone is getting proper network coverage and cellular data works just fine. The rom felt a bit sluggish after installing but got pretty stable after 3-4 hours. More stable than stock rom and comparable to Satgass' CM12.1. And Xposed works fine as well! Didn't check battery backup though. I will keep on updaing about my experiences. So far the rom is good! Thanks for bringing it to the light.. Wouln't have noticed if had not seen your thread.

For me, the no sim bug usually appears within few days of working. After that, the phone refuses to connect via cellular data. Calling is OK, Wi-Fi is OK, but no mobile data anymore. It happened with EVERY CM12.1 based ROM for A6000 I have installed. And believe me, I have tried almost all of them (from techolaty and amodindo). Even the ed300's bugless CM12.1 here from xda dev. I wish you, your phones is OK, but I don't give it another try

Yes, I share the same opinion. Like the lockscreen bug, which was fixed start of may in the nightly builds, is still present on the latest build. And then they didn't implemented the weather option correctly.
I totally agree.

Why don't you quit whining and install a custom rom? First Cyanogen OS does not make beta updates they make Stable updates that fix the bugs that were in the previous ROM builds and versions. I flashed there newest COS13.1 build and it works completely fine and my carrier acts much better than it did previously. They also fixed many other issues that you can find out yourself. They are not a ****ty company and OS and you shouldn't be making posts like this. I want the moderators to remove your post because you may of have offended the makers of the stock rom and of the phone itself. If the lockscreen bugs you were referring to tapping the lockscreen shortcuts rapidly they appear at the status bar, its there but that's a non issue cause you have to really be retarded to be doing that.
The weather provider option isn't available. You have to use a workaround to get it to show up.
Another bug I experience is volume keys skip tracks works intermittently. Really annoying that's its not consistent. It works perfectly on CM13 nightlies so they'll fix it eventually
I also had some really slow charging but a subsequent flash of the fastboot image fixed it.
I love the ROM regardless, it performs great and no major deal breakers, neither do I think Cyanogen is crap. Just chiming in on the bugs

I don't use cyanogen os, so i don't have to patient But I'm a very patient person, so no problem for me.
So nice to see people whine about a company which is releasing continuous updates for a 2 year old phone. Isn't that the kind of support that people get on Nexus, but still people find a reason to whine about it.
Buy the OnePlus 2 or 3 and see the Oxygen OS support that you get and then compare it with COS, probably then you will appreciate COS support.

Please think twice before you make posts like this as it is hurtful to others

I don't agree with you because i have no lockscreen bug and the weather option is implemented fine for me so you obviously didn't flash correctly

No updates yet. I've had my M9P for about 2 weeks now. So far I have not encountered any wi-fi issue whatsoever. Make sure, it's not channel interference from nearby accesspoints (if on 2.4GHz).
Help
Any stock or custom roms for p9 pro
No OTA yet. I have issues that runkeeper for some reason doesn't work with this phone. Every other phone I have ever used since 2010 has always been working, but this one doesn't.
Also I already bought Google daydream since they announced it will be available soon. Well, its about one month from that announcement and nothing since that. Daydream sitting in the desk now.
And otherwise it seems to be working just can't connect the controller.
I bought Mate 9 Pro (LON-L29 : 6/128 GB) several weeks ago and I got an official OTA updated last week. But I cannot any difference from the old ROM.

Interesting. I guess I'll be on the lookout for the OTA update. Thanks!
Go to HiCare app, click on service, (you need to login to your huawei account), click on update, you will find the latest update which is B165SP01

Did that already. Says I'm on the latest version.
I've tried to update my divece from B124 to B139, with no luck, but i got a brand new device yesteday, and it was on B139 from scratch, and i found some few fixes i have been working with on B124, so it seems like they have problems with thier OTA update.

Yup same here. Even if I click OS update early adopters it doesn't show anything. Its very strange especially considering that there are not so many Mate 9 Pro out there.
It worked for me. Thanks.

Where are you located. I am in the US and can't log into the ICare app.
I'm in California and I can log in to HiCare just fine.
***Update***
I just noticed that I can log into the HiCare app but when i try to "associate a phone" with the account there's no phone setup. But when I try to setup my phone there's no option in the drop down menu for USA. Could this possibly be the reason I'm not able to get updates and it always tells me Im up to date?
According to this: http://hwmt.ru/oth/HWFF/info/view.php?find_model=LON-L29 There have been several updates since LON-L29C721B124 which I currently have. But for some reason it doesn't update whatever I try to do.
I wonder if it's possible for this to work on the M9P...
https://forum.xda-developers.com/p9/how-to/tutorial-how-to-update-form-b360-to-t3544232
I tried without success
I downloaded app "firmware finder" from the playstore and it can find the latest update B139 for me, I can download it and MD5 check is success. However when I try to install it from the recovery I get an error.
Most amazing here is that Huawei isn't telling us anything here. Why many people with L29C432 are not able to receive latest version for their phones even if its already 2 months old.
Really annoyig, I do like the phone but horrible software support makes me want to consider some other options.

New owner contemplating lineage flash

Hello,
I am new to android and recently ordered a Leeco pro3 for $120 (couldn't pass it up). I have read that it does not get ota updates in the US, so I have a few questions. Is there any detriment to using an outdated android version? Can I still run apps like facebook, twitter, and Snapchat? If i flash to lineage, will I still have all of the features (camera, Snapchat and facebook apps, etc)? I know the IR blaster won't work, but this isn't an issue. I just have read that certain apps won't work and want to avoid having a phone with no camera or no social media apps such as Snapchat. Thank you all ahead of time.

If all you need is just core functionality then I would there is nothing wrong with running the stock rom. Everything will work right out of the box and all of those apps you mentioned should run just fine. Not to mention you should get really good battery life. With that said if you like some of the features that come with Nougat based roms such as better Doze and Camera API 2 support so you can install apps like google camera and give you camera a nice performance boost then go for it. I have installed all of the aftermarket roms available in this thread and IMHO Paranoid turned out to be the best. I havent had a single issue with it and it has the latest drivers taken from Oneplus 3's source code.

Thank you for the quick response. Given the fact that you have gone through using custom roms, have you been able to use snapchat on Paranoid? I have read that custom roms cause the app not to work. Also, for someone who has never used an android device, how hard is it to flash a custom rom? I am very interested in having a better camera, as I will be coming from a Lumia 950 XL (it has been deteriorating and Microsoft seems to have given up on W10M.). I know that this isn't on that level, but anything I can do to get the gap smaller is good. I am also interested in other features, but have to ask - is your battery life significantly worse running a custom rom? That would be a turn off. Thank you again.

Nope my battery life is near identical to stock and everything works on Paranoid. My favorite thing about it too is that all viarations of Google camera also work which will give you great pictures and videos if you play around with them far better than stock imho. But play with it first you will find that you can do far more on Android than you can windows mobile. The ecosystem just doesn't compare. If you want to to install a rom then follow the guides but make sure you do your homework before just jumping in. It's not difficult but a screw up could brick your phone. But there are also many guides for unbricking as well
Lineage has new Android versions first, but doesn’t have good battery life on this device, use a different ROM. If you want Snapchat, you can use a ROM that passes Safetynet or maybe Magisk’s hide feature. Oreo ROMs don’t pass safetynet, but some other Nougat ROMs do.

This is great news that the camera actually improves. Do you have snapchat issues with this rom? I just want to ensure I am able to enjoy everything android has to offer (well, as much as possible on a year old phone for now), as I have missed quite a bit of apps on W10M.

This is very helpful, but I am confused how to tell. Do you know any roms that pass safetynet? Thank you both for your help.

Paranoid does, so does AICP I think, both for nougut, not Oreo ones yet as SELinux is not working on Oreo. There are others that probably do also, but I haven't tried them yet.

This is tremendous. I am already turning into an android fanboy and I haven't even got the phone. It is quite impressive that the opensource community can get the latest editions stable on these devices. I just saw no need to go buy a galaxy or near $1K smartphone when the SD820 is still a powerhouse in my eyes. Do I have to root to install Paranoid, or just unlock bootloader and flash? (I may be missing a step but am going solely off of how I understood the guides)

SD821, not 820, the model with the 820, the so called elite, has nearly no development.
You have to flash a file to unlock the American model’s bootloader. (The SD821 powered x727 I think it’s called...) the Chinese model x720 has an unlocked bootloader, but is missing US carrier frequencies so it’s worse for Americans.

That's not great. I think I have the elite coming because it says SD820. Am I essentially screwed on roms?

It's a major difference in both hardware and support. I'd return it for a refund.

It looks like there are the same roms though. I even found paranoid. Is the 820 to 821 really that big of a difference? This thing was so cheap.

It stinks because I had an additional coupon bringing this to $120s. A dual sim (necessary for work) phone with a sd820 for that price seemed too good to be true and now it seems it is. However, if I can still get the play store ill be fine on any rom (would prefer a custom).

So ya you got the Elite. I do recall there being a couple of ROMs for that phone just poke around this forum and I believe you will find them.
you can find all the detailed specs here:
https://www.gsmarena.com/leeco_le_pro3_elite-8614.php
The only thing I would really be concerned about is band support and if you will get LTE or not. It looks like its a mixed bag here:

I checked the band support and that's good. Will this come with the play store though? And if not, is there a way to install it on the stock rom? I just want to make sure I have the basic apps (although I'd prefer a custom rom)
