[ROM] [HELP] [RR] [64bit] [5.1.1] - Lenovo A6000/Plus Questions & Answers

Hi!!
I need seriously help with Resurrection Remix ROM which ported to especially for Lenovo a6000 Plus, it has 64 bit OS (author: Amodindo). You can found the ROM here: http://www.techolite.com/34318/lenovo-a6000-resurrection-remix-rom-5-8-8-64-bits.html
This is very very great ROM, nice performance and battery usage and lots of feature. But unfortunately this ROM has annoying bug, if you try to lock GPS to the satellites with maps or other GPS info app, your phone will rebooted instantly. Yup this is very annoying bug especially if you use your phone for navigating or play with geo-location based games. So if you a developer or an expert. Please help with make a fix for this bugs, that will be great help for author of the ROM and user who love this ROM
For your help, Thanks

Thanks dude, I'll check and test. I hope all creepy bugs sweeped away. :victory:

Well I suppose there will be the "No SIM" bug. I haven't met any working CM12.1 ROM for A6000. There always was this annoying bug sooner or later. (Including this fantastic rr ROM )

What is the 'No SIM' bug? By the way there is a CM12.1 by Satgass which has no bugs. I am currently running the same.

This rom has the problem of random reboots. It suddenly reboots while playing games.

XoplaxOS has no bug too, try the rom. I'm satisfied with this rom, elegant and fast

Well the 'no SIM' bug as well as 'GPS bug' is not present in this ROM. Experiences none issues so far!!

Wait until tomorrow. I will test for any other bugs. GPS didn't reboot my phone but will check again. And I have no idea what the 'no SIM' bug is but my phone is getting proper network coverage and cellular data works just fine. The rom felt a bit sluggish after installing but got pretty stable after 3-4 hours. More stable than stock rom and comparable to Satgass' CM12.1. And Xposed works fine as well! Didn't check battery backup though. I will keep on updaing about my experiences. So far the rom is good! Thanks for bringing it to the light.. Wouln't have noticed if had not seen your thread.

Well I checked the rom no bug at all did I face. There is no GPS bug no SIM probpem. Everything works just fine and battery backup is good too.

For me, the no sim bug usually appears within few days of working. After that, the phone refuses to connect via cellular data. Calling is OK, Wi-Fi is OK, but no mobile data anymore. It happened with EVERY CM12.1 based ROM for A6000 I have installed. And believe me, I have tried almost all of them (from techolaty and amodindo). Even the ed300's bugless CM12.1 here from xda dev. I wish you, your phones is OK, but I don't give it another try

Try the one by Satgass from amodindo. I ran it for 2 months and do I tell you, my cellular connection was 2 times more stable than the stock Vibe UI.
---------- Post added at 12:09 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:06 AM ----------
I will give you the link tomorrow. Gotta search and for some odd reasons the amodindo site does not work on my phone and I am darn too sleepy to power on my PC. That ROM is very good for performance, I switched only because of customizations available in RR ROM.
---------- Post added at 12:10 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:09 AM ----------
By the way can you tell me how do I increase camera quality of this phone? Any app? Mod? Especially the video recording quality. That's the only disappointment.

lol ... Your account should be banned.
i think there's two, and i've tried them both - but back on v5 if that helps. both can be downloaded here: http://www.miui.com/download-110.html
the first one is miui_i9505_shiro_5.5.22_297f4c9327_4.4.zip - works ok but google apps won't work & I can't get titanium to run (freezes at 'checking for sqllite'). I've tried both clean flash and dirty on top of v5. In a clean flash wifi won't enable.
the second one is miui_i9505_rainbow_5.5.22_6a27167d52_4.4.zip - everything was great with this apart from one thing, 3rd party apps can't switch on mobile data. this is shown as 4.4 kitkat so might not be linnked to the lollipop changes, but even with a rooted phone various toggles i tried & more importantly automateit couldn't enable mobile data (it can disable no problem).
so for me, one has wifi probs, the other data toggle probs. both deal breakers so i'm back on the one here.
another Shiro version released today, same link as above. trying it later...
edit: still hates titanium.
Are there any mirror for these downloads? I cannot do better than 3K/s
I'm surprised people actually want to run MIUI. As good as it's interface is, and as beautiful as it runs, it ain't a patch on any TW ROM. Very strange.
And I use a genuine Xiaomi phone as well!!

I don't see why people like MIUI vs TouchWiz or AOSP, or CM.
MIUI is big and bloated and slow and full of Chinese unnecessary dog****. The Redmi Note 4G (my phone) runs MIUI V6 and seems to have lots of problems but when I flashed a Lollipop CM12, improved hellishly, but no camera so I couldn't keep it

each to their own I guess. I've used miui for a couple of years now, occasionally trying other roms but never last more than a few hours before restoring.
not bothered about convincing anyone else tho.

Oh I wasn't looking for an argument, was just hoping you could tell me what I'm missing when I switch away. The phone I have right now, runs MIUI, so trust me, I've got lots of experience, but to me, it just isn't worth the bother. Plus, their update cycle is painful.
I guess it depends though, if you're a developer MIUI really isn't for you, but perhaps as a user, it might be more appealing. I find MIUI a really awkward platform to develop on.

While a novel idea and a good way to separate, xda trends say this isn't going to get much use and everyone who is able to post in the development threads will post about anything related to the rom including installations. 45 pages in a few days is just too much to go through. Not everyone can read that much quickly. I'm sure skimming will probably skip a lot of the repeated questions.
Also, last I recall the OP of the ROM thread didn't include his build manifest.

Hey guys, I have been running the 20151018 build for a day or so now and it is amazing. I have only ran into one problem.
Facebook constantly crashes (even when I do not have it open) - I uninstalled it for the time being until this gets resolved.
I do not see the battery drain that the Dev was talking about. The standby is pretty amazing!
Answer questions just ask me!

No it didn't. I normally do not use Titanium Backup for anything other than SMS ad Call Log. Both SMS and Call Log worked because I had them backed up as XML files that I manually restored but as far as restoring Apps, i couldn't. There wasn't even an option.

Maybe try NextCameraMod! It supports everything! Haven't ran into an issue thus far!

GPS Signal Lost ?!

When using Google Maps, the phone keeps losing signal every half an hour or so - why, and how do you fix it dudes?
Is this common with the Zuk or am I the only one with the problem?
I actually had a problem with GPS today. It kept shifting my location so i missed the station I was supposed to get out of the bus.
I hope it's fixable with software update.
No, you are not the only one with this problem. It's the same with mine. Here's a larger thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/zuk-z1/help/gps-fix-problems-t3231931
I switched to CyanogenMOD and problem is gone. This is common in CyanogenOS.

What is the difference between CyanogenMOD and CyanogenOS?
Where can I get the MOD version and how do you install it?
Thanks!
Is this defintely an issue with COS, and not hardware in the handset?
Seems like an ideal handset for my needs but working and accurate GPS is absolutely essential for me as i use my handset for a lot of fitness/strava stuff. If CM12.1/13 fixes the issue o can live with that

CyanogenOS is backed by Cyanogen Inc. company which was founded by few companies which wanted support for their devices. On the other hand CyanogenMOD is (was) pure comunity project.
To install CyanogenMOD you have to unlock bootloader, flash TWRP and than CyanogenMOD. Not so easy for beginner. Sorry I can't send links as xda begginer. Just google CyanogenMOD and find Zuk Z1 (code name Ham) on download page for more details.

Definetely not hw issue. No signal loosing or precision problems with CyanogenMOD. This device is really great on HW perspective. I can say that Lenovo wasn't saving money on any part. Sound is great, battery is not loosing capacity, notificatin LED can show any color and every sensors are not the cheapest one. And GPS? Best signal reception I ever had on my phones.
But SW support is really not perfect.

Best ROM out there for Moto X Style?

Hello, two questions:
- What is the most stable and most problem-free 7.1 ROM for Moto X Style? CM, Lineage, Slim7?
- Should I wait for the official ROM?
Thanks.

For me it's dirty unicorns. It's really stable and the latest weekly has the camera running superb for me so far with Snapchat and the inbuilt camera app. Also has the most kernel customizations out of every 7.1.1 custom ROM. Highly recommend you to try it out and see for yourself since ROMs are based on personal preference.
And I would recommend: next time ask such questions in the Q&A section or even general section but NEVER in android development section.

Don't take this the wrong way since it is a sincere question. Why not in a developer thread? I have been a member of the CM11 thread until the project ended and it was a developer thread, the ONLY place you could get up to the minute, real help for the custom rom. It was a developer thread especially made for this rom.

Because the question is generic. Fur the most part the development sections should be geared toward resolving issues with ROMs and/or what features the ROM may need improvement on. Asking what people think is the most stable ROM or what not sure not contribute to development.

That is a good answer. No one should be in developer threads asking what is the best rom, etc. But to join a rom specific developer thread is a good place to post rom questions for this device. We need *some place* to discuss this and IMHO, the developer threads are the best, where you get the best answers, and most serious places to get answers. With that in mind, one has to behave accordingly. I.e.: No clowning around for best rom, best games, pokemon, or any other out of place questions or comments. You have earned your Thanks. Thanks!
EDIT: "Generic" question, that is the significant part I missed. There are plenty of places to discuss generic rom questions but not in a developer thread. For specific questions, I would imagine there are threads for that. My CM11 thread was quite specific so the Q&A was most welcome there. :good:

I have read through them all. There is no sufficient information. Everyone is like thank you so much for this without saying any issues, so after installation I found everything was broken.
When u ask also people come and say "why don't u try it for urself?" What sort of theory is that? last time all ROMs used to have a section at least for bug list of features that doesn't work, but none of the new ROMs have that. Its like we have to take a medicine without knowing the side effects to know only about them after trying it.

11.2 RC is what I recommend. That didn't have any problems what so ever except flashlight. I'm on the latest weekly and there is just small changes that don't matter much except viper for android can work on enforcing and magisk is in the settings menu now.

Aicp April nightlies have been amazing, huge upgrade over previous Roms for me, including previous versions of AICP itself. Battery life is poor currently, but everything is buttery smooth and snappy (v4a, Substratum, pixel launcher, moto camera and gallery all working flawlessly). I'd highly recommend trying it, even if you have previously. I just switched my color profile to "deep black colorful" as well and i must say I'm really loving my phone again.

11.2 RC is what I recommend. That didn't have any problems what so ever except flashlight. I'm on the latest weekly and there is just small changes that don't matter much except viper for android can work on enforcing and magisk is in the settings menu now.

I had major problems flashing DU when I tried. I did a full wipe and tried 3 different gapps, including the recommended mini dynamic gapps and I got constant google play services force closes when it booted up. I couldn't even get to settings to try to close or mute something to look around at what was causing it. I'm using Ground Zero Roms Validus and its great for the most part. Still want to try DU though if I can figure out that issue.

That's weird. I never had that problem before. I might flash the ROM and gapps and make a backup and maybe install it to Android file host so you won't run into any problems. I use open gapps aroma and change the SMS app, clock, calender, and other stock apps for Google apps and it worked fine for me. Even dynamic gapps worked fine. I don't know what the problem could be.

I can understand the frustration, but to some degree it is almost a crap shoot, especially on AOSP. Things can break from one update to the next as the devs work their magic. What worked today may not work tomorrow and vice versa. That is why I recommend trying then out. Devs typically work to improve their ROMs both stability and feature wise but given the difference in usage, apps, and even manufacturing variances in hardware internals, a ROM could work well for one user's needs but be broken for another.
As far as AOSP, I hear a lot of good things about AICP, but I use stock rooted on my MXPE so I can't confirm anything. It works great on my old LG G3 D850.
How?

Aicp April nightlies have been amazing, huge upgrade over previous Roms for me, including previous versions of AICP itself. Battery life is poor currently, but everything is buttery smooth and snappy (v4a, Substratum, pixel launcher, moto camera and gallery all working flawlessly). I'd highly recommend trying it, even if you have previously. I just switched my color profile to "deep black colorful" as well and i must say I'm really loving my phone again.

Sorry for the noob question...I did a lot of custom roms on my SGS2 and SGS4 but when I got my Moto X Pure I have just used it stock.
I have been having enough issues with it that I considered replacing it with a Moto G5 Plus but decided I might as well try a ROM before I give up on it entirely.
So back to the noob question...how do I get from stock to that ROM? Also, can you send me a link to the ROM you are talking about (This one? https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x-style/development/rom-aicp-clark-xt1575-t3222868/page646)

To your noob question: I'm pretty sure the general process is the same to get a custom ROM as the SGSs you did. Flash the appropriate custom ROM made for your device via custom recovery. That has not really changed since custom ROMs for Android first came into being. The methods of getting a custom recovery onto a device changes though so please use due diligence to get it done if you haven't already.

RevOS-MIUI rumoured to have added support for Mi Mix 5g

Does anybody have experience with this rom? They mentioned on a twitter post earlier this week that support for Mi Mix 5g will be added soon.
https://twitter.com/RevOSTechs/status/1260523438877429763/photo/1
I think I'm going to try it right now.
Please report back how it goes, especially with functionality. They are claiming MIUI 12 so I am keen to see what is and isn't working.
I have successfully downloaded and flashed it! ?
Hello,
I am here, from Kuala Lumpur, MY
As for now, so far so good. Need to experience more the latest miui12!
See yeah!
I'd say the same. Everything works well except for some minor minor bugs with the dark mode and 3rd part apps (like SwiftKey) and the fact that it's not that fast and smooth as the previous one I had (pixel experience). The main camera app works as well and video recording works too (but for some reason it records only up to 1080p 60 fps). The main question I have now is about the battery drain. I hope it's at least as optimized as the pixel experience is.
Great reports,
Interesting about the video working to 1080p. Any idea if 5g connectivity is working?
I wonder what they have based this on as there is only MIUI 11 beta ROM in circulation as far as I know and this registers as MIUI12.
I think they kinda ported the ROM from the one for the Xiaomi K20 Pro since they have quite the same hardware. I read once that, even if it's very risky, you can force flash a K20 ROM on the Mi MIX 3 and it will boot anyway. Unfortunately I can't test the 5G network, BUT:
There's no "Tethering USB" option in the settings. This functionality is disabled for some reason.
There's no "Hotspot" option in the settings. This functionality is disabled too :crying:
The ROM is quite laggy (Don't know if it's because of a conservative governor or if it's just about a bad optimization).
I think I'll roll back to pixel experience, too many problems that need to be solved yet.

I flashed it on the global version and got a lot of problems like loosing my EMEI and so on. Luckily I had a backup. But I don't want to go back to Android 9, do you have a link to the PE rom? Thanks.
Btw, it is the rom from the Mi8SE.

Here's the link to the repository with all the ROMs for Andromeda:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/xiaomi-andromeda/files/
Just tap on the green button saying "download the latest version" and it will download the PE. Or just go into the Pixel Experience directory and find the latest one =)
I also suggest you to install the 78 Hz dtbo, it's freaking smooth

The official RevOS website says, that the 5g rom is a port from the mi8SE firmware.
I tried it again and now it seems to work. But I can't set the Fingerprint. Did you tested the Fingerprint and if yes, was it working?
Guys, is this an official ROM of MIUI for MIX3 5G? It will be update normally?

Actually I don't remember of testing the fingerprint scanner, but it's always the first thing I set during the first set-up, so I don't remember if it worked on my phone or if I skipped that step XD
A porting from a completely different phone with a different SoC family and model, different modem (and it's not even compatible for the 5G), different screen type and resolution? The only thing matching between the Mi 8 SE and the Mi Mix 3 5g is the main camera sensor XD And I'm not even considering that there are different approaches to the light sensor/proximity sensor and so on. I mean, why?
Maybe the challenge strange, I haven't got any set up screen. Straight into the launcher. I will test PE instead. Sounds promising, thanks for that.

No? There isn't even the official MIUI 11 for the Mi MIX 3 5G. This is a porting from the MIUI 12 ROM for the Mi 8 SE apparently, made by this RevOS Russian team.

Me neither, but then there was the Google notification to complete the setup of the phone and I did it.
Yeah, I'm using it now and it's absolutely perfect. The video recording is the only thing missing.

sorry i'd like to know if this is an official custom rom (like lineage), and not some unofficial or unstable ones, thanks.

The MIUI 12 is absolutely unofficial, and way far to be something barely stable XD
Anyway, every custom ROM for the Mi Mix 3 5G is Unofficial.

No I don't think they will, the Mi MIX 5G is (officially?) abandoned, although there is a petition here:
https://www.change.org/p/xiaomi-corporation-upgrade-mi-mix-3-5g-flagship-to-miui-11
So maybe Xiaomi will notice that that wasn't a fair and smart move, I mean, forgetting about their first 5G smartphone (and in general, one if not the first 5G smartphone ever made), with top-notch features, initially sold for around 600$ is nearly like a scam.
Anyway, I don't suggest you install the Revos porting at the moment. It lacks many basic features (such as USB tethering or the Wi-Fi hotspot) and it's very, very laggy.
