bootloader - Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Questions & Answers

hi sorry english but i use google translator i have encountered problems with unlocking the bootloader. I explain then after that or entered the account the device asks mi to reset the phone and after forgetting account done all this continues to ask me to redo the usual procedure and does not send me forward as a consequence in flash does not make me the unlock procedure how can i solve?

Very difficult to understand your question but i'll try.
First, you need to have a MI account logged in your phone, and also in the MI unlock tool on the PC.
Then, you need to wait for the time generated by the MI unlock tool, could be a few hours to days. After the wait time has completed, only then can you unlock the bootloader.
You also need to allow usb debugging and allow OEM unlocking in developer options.

I explain myself better after I made the request from my mobile phone, it asks me to bring factory data to then add my account and so it continues without telling me anything

Have you downloaded the flash tool on a PC?
Is the waiting time period given by the flash tool over?

the flash tool gives me the following abbreviation please add your account in MIUI's setting - Developer options - Mi Unlock status and I'm not asked to wait for any period of time

You have to do what it asks first and connect the phone via usb cable, then click on unlock and then it will generate the wait time.

the crux of the problem is precisely that I cannot add the MI account to the mobile phone when I insert it I am told to insert it correctly but immediately afterwards a window appears asking to reset and then rejoin the account and after doing so continue continue to ask me to reinsert accounts

-Find the "Mi Unlock Status" and add your Mi Account details and login
-Now access Fastboot mode
-Run "Mi Flash Unlock Tool" and login
-The tool now indicates xx hours to wait for unlock the bootloader

after adding account I am told this Don't disconnect from the network, sign out of your MI account,perform a factory reset, or erase system data
if you've already done any of the above,add your Mi Account again; otherwise, you won't be able to unlock your device
and it continues like this even after I do what is required and I am stuck right here

Are u sure guys that he means that? I understood that if the bootloader is relocked we now can use this tool for it to display Locked instead of relocked.

@OP: right, so that initial message saying ur bootlpader was still unlocked even though the message was gone was a fluke still, very valuable info on how to properly relock bootloader!

just a note, if you already have a DC unlocker account, the HCU can only be used within the first 30 days. I've just tried mine and the account has expired in HCU and their support say to re-activate it requires paying for 8 credits.
well in that case i would rather register a new account (free) instead of paying 8 credits to reactivate the old one

The phone does not boot up anymore so i can not access to enable OEM in point 2
Start from Fresh.
Download the Stock image and attempt to flash via recovery. / Odin
I dont fully understand the OEM Option.
But if its not been enabled and the system has been modified the Device will fail to boot.
You need to unlock the OEM Option.
This is why its worth reading the instructions over and over again and even reading about peoples problems before flashing.
I know my way around android, i have been flashing since android was first around.
Regardless of how well i know things.
I still spent the time reading the threads, Peoples problems, common issues by not reading instructions properly before i even touched my S7.
You will be faced with less issues the more product knowledge you know!
Its better to know more than less
Assuming Smart Switch is the new replacement for Kies (Never used it)
But you may be able to restore the device properly from here.

I gathered that from your error, maybe I should have worded it "Did you follow this thread....."
You will probably have to try to get into download mode several times as I have heard that is is pretty tricky with the error you get but you will get there
what ever i do it always says with green writing CUSTOM BINARY ( RECOVERY) BLOCKED BY FRB LOCK,
I tried to flash twrp-3.0.1-0-hero2lte.img .tar, again same error, and when trying to flash firmware it goes through but it would not boot up and at the end of flash process i get { dm-verity verification failed need to check DRK FIRST on GALAXY S7 edge }
My FRP method this:

Insert prepaid sim 0$, and 0mb internet, but LTE network...
Personalise phone start, and wifi not turn on. Google verification fail, and NEXT button active...

I have the same problem. I can't root the phone because FRP lock is on but I can't turn it off because I can't get to the OS. I've tried flashing official firmware already.
Smart switch emergency function can bypass the FRP lock and restore the firmware.
IT is a stand alone fuction for phones with FRP problems.
You need your serial number for this to work.
I have been able to fix the frp problem when I flashed my phone but did not turn on OEM unlock.

The only reasons OEM unlocking is grayed out is either you are already unlocked, or they installed an engineering bootloader... Better hope it's the first one, because if it's the second your in trouble. What is the output of "fastboot getvar all" (and mask out your IMEI)?

It's a temporary bootloader used by Moto Support/Repair and service centers when flashing back to stock after a failed update or corrupted ROM for some other reason, it allows them to unlock the device at a deeper level than normal, flash what they need, then relock the bootloader without tripping the warranty flag, then restore the stock bootloader.
It has happened a few times where a device has gone out with a Engineering bootloader (google it, you will see a few threads here and there) back to a customer after a repair, the problem is it's not really unlocked, you can't flash TWRP or custom ROM, and it can't be relocked or fully unlocked (we don't have the code required, guessing it's similar to a regular bootloader unlock code, unique per IMEI, but different). It is seriously annoying and the only solution is to send it back to Moto or return it to the service center which may or may not be able to rectify it. On a good note, the device will function on the ROM installed. We don't know what will happen if you attempt to take an OTA though.

[GUIDE] How to Unlock Bootloader Xiaomi Mi A2

Clarifications:
No matter the version of Android that our Smartphone has, the procedure is the same.
When unlocking the bootloadrer all our personal data and applications of the smartphone will be erased, I recommend making a backup of our personal files.
Requirements:
We will obviously need our Xiaomi Mi A2 and have a PC.
Steps:
1-Preparing the smartphone
Enable oem debugging and usb debugging:
Open Setting> System> About Phone> Press where it says "Buil Number" until you enable the developer options. Let's go back a step, and we will see that within the options of "System" a new one will appear, called "Developer options"; we enter it, and within the options we have to enable "OEM unlocking" and "USB debugging".
Then we will proceed to turn off our smartphone.
Once turned off, we will press at the same time volume - and power for about 5 seconds, until our cell phone turns on (this in order to enter the fastboot mode), if everything was done correctly, the following image will appear on your screen.
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
We connect the cell phone to the PC
2-Preparing the PC
Install Drivers
For me the best way to install the drivers is as follows (if you know a better way I accept suggestions)
Download the tool My Unlock
Extract the zip file into a new folder on our pc, double click to execute the file called "miflash_unlock", we will open the application, top right of it will be the "wheel" of settings , we click on it to enter; a new window is displayed, and where it says "My Usb Driver" we click on "Check"; a "Connect your device again" notice will appear, we disconnect and connect our cell phone to the PC again, and we will have the driver installed.
We can close, we do not need this app anymore
Install the adb tools on the PC
Download the installer
1. Run it (Require administrator privileges)
2. Press Y / Yes to install ADB and Fastboot or N / No to skip
3. Press Y / Yes to install ADB system-wide or N / No for current user only
4. Press Y / Yes to install Drivers or N / No to skip
5. Continue Driver installation
6. 15 seconds passed - finished!
3-Finally we will proceed to unlock the bootloader
Download the following folder "UNLOCK BOOTLOADER XIAOMI MI A2"
We enter in it, we will find a .bat file called "unlock auto" (we make sure to have our smartphone connected to the PC in fastboot mode) we double click to execute it.
Immediately on our cell phone will appear a warning on the screen about which we are going to unblock the bootloader. And pressing twice volume -, select the option "unlock the bootloader", then press the button "power" and our smartphone will restart a couple of times, all our information will be erased and we will have the bootloader unlocked.
Suggestion:
Once the bootloader is unlocked, I advise you to turn off your smartphone again and enter fastboot mode again, go back to the "UNLOCK BOOTLOADER XIAOMI MI A2" folder and double-click the .bat file called "flash unlock critical", this with the purpose, that when we want to restore our smartphone and flash the stock firmware we have no problems.
Here I leave a video on YouTube that is a visual guide to the procedure.

Tab A 2019 (SM-T290): OEM Unlock option still not visible in dev. options menu, ater 7 days

I'm trying to root this tablet for a collegue of mine. A while ago I had done it succesfully on my own table, so I thought I could easily repeat the same procedure.
- Install Magisk on tablet.
- download stock sw with SamFirm_Reborn
- copy AP file to tablet
- let magisk patch it
- copy file back to pc
- flash stock sw with odin, with patched file instead of original AP. (At this point I had to unlock the bootloader. I enabled it in dev.options menu, and enabled again by long pressing 'up' key when entering download mode)
Here things went wrong. Odin would crash near completing.
I tried it a couple if times. Tried other versions of Odin. Same problem every time. Then I tried flashing the stock sw. This worked, but since this moment the bootloader has been locked.
I've tried many things since. Fiddled with time. Flashed an older version (Android 10 instead of 11. Didn't help, but made the tablet much more responsive. 11 was very slow). Added and removed Google and Samsung accounts. All to no avail.
Now I've waited 8 days, and the option to unlock oem is still not back in the dev.options menu.
What can I do more? Or have I done something wrong?

I'm not quite clear on what you've done. OEM Unlocking does not unlock the bootloader in of itself, it just allows you to. You did unlock the bootloader from download mode? Flashing firmware does not lock or unlock the bootloader; this must be done manually, so if you unlocked it but never relocked it, it's still unlocked. In Download Mode, you should see "OEM LOCK OFF" in the upper left corner of the screen.
Is the OEM Unlocking toggle visible at all, or is it grayed out? If it is not visible, try checking for a software update via system settings. Once it completes the check, go back to Developer Options; OEM Unlocking should be visible but grayed out: "Bootloader is already unlocked"
I didn't have any luck patching the AP file on my T290 either. I ended up just flashing TWRP, then installing Magisk via TWRP. I'm currently running the latest AOSP Developer GSI and it's working great.
OK, maybe I haven't used the correct wording. I think 'prenormal' the the keyword here.
The 'oem unlock' option is not present in the developper options menu.

Do I need to log in with the google account of my collegue, which was originanly loaded on this device?
In the meantime I've used an account of my own? Does it matter?
I've already tried so many 'tips' I've found on google, and none of them has helped so far.

Have you gone through this proceedure? Turn the tablet off. Plug the USB cable into the PC but not the tablet. Press and hold both vol up and down and then plug the USB cable into the tablet. When the blue/green screen appears, instead of just pressing vol up, press and hold it till the next screen appears. That screen should offer the option to unlock the bootloader. All OEM enable does is keep you from having to enter the Google Account login and password after a factory reset. Of course unlocking the bootloader will cause a factory reset, So it is a good idea to enable it but if it isn't there, don't worry about it.
Sorry. This didn't work either. The option for long pressins isn't available, so as soon as you press the Up button the device goes into regular download mode.
I'm now fully convinced that this device can never be fixed again.

Try to hold all 3 buttons after plugging it into the PC with USB cable.
