You flashed the wrong ROM (other model)
Make sure about what you download and flash(read its name)(it should be for j500f)
And about MD5 error
I have faced it when my TWRP was so old
Flash the newest TWRP
Let us know if didn't work again

did you specifically choose a rom for j500fn (j5nlte)? ive had 3 of the 2015 j5's and ive never had an issue except for the error 7....
i cant find this serenity rom for 2015 j5 (nvm found it) ... but i can see that its based on 7.1.1 Touchwiz but number one requirement is
Code:
1. You should have 6.0.1 based firmware
, make sure you flash the bootloader and modem from
HTML:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-j5/how-to/6-0-1-5-1-1-bootloader-modem-j500xx-t3566801
for 6.0.1.. and if you are going to use any roms after 7..0 then flash back the nougat bootloader and modem.... though i dont understand why "its just not what i want now"... youre just going from one touchwiz rom to the other... you coulda just installed a custom kernel and root and customize to your hearts content, on a newer android version

serenity is apparently a port based on j5 2016 7.1.1 touchwiz but for some reason requires old BL and MODEM.. but the rest is correct, and md5 can be skipped by ticking the box before flashing

Bootloop ;-;
https://forum.xda-developers.com/an...overy-teamwin-recovery-project-3-0-2-t3356616
Following the guide, flashing TWRP and installing the supersu caused my phone to go into a bootloop which I managed to remedy by going into recovery and installing the j3 lite ROM found on page 100 of the thread.
I would think to avoid bootloop, avoid installing the supersu provided in the guide. Flash TWRP, pull battery, boot to recovery, install custom ROM, wipe catch.

I am uploading a stock ROM with only 480mb: v wait
I own this device , i have it rooted and TWRP.
People don't know the power of this device and it's chipset. Mine's J320m (brazil) 1.5 RAM but with 8gb internal memory.
TouchWiz UI sucks so much , i've had to install more than 20 xposed modules to make it go cleaner to look and use
also installed Pixl Launcher, HEBF Optimizer , Greenify , L Speed , Wanam Xposed , Xinternal
We need a custom rom , even CM13 or even CM12 for god's sake
Samsung blocks everything , so i think we need a new firmware at first.

But finally at reboot received the message:
kernel ist not seandroid enforcing.
It was not a problem to reinstall my backup with TWRP.
Surely I could try the otherone what was made for SM-J320M, but for this evening it wars enought stress. I hope also that there ist somebody who is so kind to work on a custom rom for J320F. It is very popular in Europe.

the big problem is the kernel , each variation needs a different kernel
what we really need is a pure and stock cyanogen version , with a ****ing clean 6.0 android , so we could use SD as internal memory
So... No j320f custom rom?...

The BootLoop is caused by installing TWRP's SuperSu. Make sure you put your own SuperSu file on the android device.
you do have brazalian version thats the qualcomm processor but we are here getting issues with spreadtrum processor (J320F)

Possible problems,
- the rom is not for your device or variant
- The bootloader is for another version of Android
- Twrp was compiled with a different version of Android so are you going to get an error.
- Your bad luck exceeds an acceptable level ... ???

You get green screen when:
1) You flash MM ROMs (based on stock Touchwiz MM) over Lollipop and vice versa.
2) You flash MM/N ROMs (based on AOSP/CM such as LOS13, AOSIP, Mokee etc.) over Lollipop and vice versa.
3) I can't confirm this, but based on your comment, you get green screen when you flash a MM kernel over Lollipop and of course, vice versa too.

For those, who -as I did - don't really understand this (see the quote)...
I had the same issue when I wanted to install a custom Marshmallow ROM (6.0.1) over my stock Lollipop (5.1.1). The solution was to download and flash a new Bootloader and Modem with Odin. See tis:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-j5/how-to/6-0-1-5-1-1-bootloader-modem-j500xx-t3566801
I just ran into this error while trying to install a custom ROM for my J500H.
My phone was running latest 6.0.1. I installed TWRP from This thread, then installed followed the instructions to install Resurrection Remix (7.1.2), but on first boot i got the green screen with the error (set warranty bit: kernel). Also tried Lineage 14.0 but doesn't work. I can still enter TWRP and download mode after getting this error.
This is my first time flashing a Samsung device. Could someone tell me what i did wrong?

Sorry, first time i didn't your post till the end.
First of all.
Restore firmware with "Samsung smart switch".
You can downgrade to 5.1.1 by this instruction.
1.Flash this firmware by Odin
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B-pt1IG7T4hmVzhuMnRyeTBjTGM/view?usp=drivesdk
(Before flashing, wipe all storages(all except internal, external in advanced wipe. If you have stock recovery, you must do both wipes)
2. After first boot flash recovery from Vince
(for both bootloaders)
3. Before flashing RR5.8.4 wipe all storages too( all, except extrnl and intrlnl)
4. Flash RR and gapps.
5. Wipe data and cache.

Because it work only with 5.1.1 bootloader.

random reboots

idk if posted some same thread but my problem is my phone suddenly reboots.
screen went off, twice vibration, then went to samsung galaxy s5 logo.
current setup: android 6.0.1 running no limits rom. all stock
sometimes it reboots then it is stock on the bootloader. i need to remove the battery and turn it on manually. using bootloader and modem of the latest recommended bootloader from the no limits rom.
(it also random reboots on stock firmware using spain which i downloaded from sam mobile firmwares)
is this a hardware issue?
edit: what i did was i upgraded my stock rom from 5.0.1 russia to 6.0.1 spain, does this affect anything? should i stick with russia?

i don't think it has to do with the battery because as long as you have power cores will work,
Do your phone gets too hot then?
I know what's going on I think. Something modified your kernel or something in the ROM is unstable. I had one that did that same thing when I used the camera. You need a better ROM. I recommend ressurection remix 5.8.3 nougat 7.1.2. No reason to be on marshmallow. And get this kernel. It fixed the camera issue and improves battery life. It's a unified klte rom.

I recommend ressurection remix 5.8.3 nougat 7.1.2. No reason to be on marshmallow. And get this kernel. It fixed the camera issue and improves battery life. It's a unified klte rom.

i am currently on 6.0.1 mm stock firmware. and still i experience this issues
That does not guarantee there's no bugs in your phone. Have you ever flashed a ROM or anything to your device?

oh okay. well as soon as i got the device it was on android 5, flashed twrp. then flashed no limits rom didnt work (cause all i thought i can boot it to mm but no) so wiped again installed xstolite rom rather, ticked reactivation locked. [i think this was the time it started]so i updraded it to 6.0.1 but i didnt know the account cos this phone is a used phone so i did was to downgrade it to 4.4 then bypass it and it worked (still experiencing issues tho). so upgraded again to stock 6.0.1 and here i am. Upgrade to a nougat ROM. It uses the same bootloader of mm so you only need to flash a ROM. Get ressurection remix or lineage is 14.1. Nougat fixes a lot of bugs and security issues. And xtrestolite isn't the most stable ROM. I had it in my s4.
---------- Post added at 06:47 AM ---------- Previous post was at 06:45 AM ----------
And then if you use rr get the kernel I showed you and flash that too. Please note these Roms don't come with gapps. Google open gapps and it comes up. You want arm 7.0 or 7.1. Stock if you don't mind waiting a while for it to download. I get nano to save time as it still installs the framework and playstore. It saves space and if you want something it didn't install play store will have it anyway.

so you mean cyanogenmod?
Cyanogen mod is now lineage os team. Don't use cyanogen. Get lineage 14.1
If none of the software fixes work, it's your battery. Personal experiance from my S3 Mini and my S5. Don't rage over it going nuts (been there, done that) but just get a new battery.

What im trying to tell is that my problem is not only installation in custom roms but i also cant install any other roms eiether from official site or some other site which means i cant install any roms accept the one the stock rom i mentioned above. And also i already tried to install MM firmware but it gives out error code 7 in twrp. I tried as i was said to install the previous version of lollipop before the update of MM came out but still i cant install them.

Which Android u r using now
Lolipop or MM
is your bootloader locked on unlocked?
just go back to stock versions for now
if u r on lollipop, download the 'next version' from asus
if u r on marshmallow, download the next version from asus
use fastboot (bootloader) mode to flash if required
when all is stable and done,
download & flash twrp
flash lineage 13, then lineage 14

Just flash global Dev. ROM from miui site, then once you in lolipop firmware, install twrp & flash the nougat rom ( no need fastboot, it's more difficult )

I don't think redmi 2 prime variant will work on this device as this device has only 1 gb ram where as prime has 2gb ram
Correct me if I am wrong..
Im using the same device 2014818 1gb variant.
It is wt88047.
U can use custom roms on KitKat firmware without any problems.(no volte)
Dont flash miui Lp coz soon when u switch to kitkat again from lp miui u will face sim card switch issue due to changed baseband. And miui lp will be slow on 1gb ram variant. But in kitkat firmware , linagge os and other 6.0.1, 7.1.2 ROMs will work.

1.For MM Stable Nx Rom by Anderson is stable and Tesla Os MM Stable.
2.Bootloader ( Firmware) There Are 2 Firmwares Available One is of Kikat and lollipop (Lp Firmware for volte ) they both are 50 mb. They can be flashed in twrp.
If ur using 2gb prime phone then flash lp firmware. Get it from xda threads.
Then flash a custom rom or miui lp and get volte function.
3. Manually set to 4g network from dialing *#*#4636#*#*
Enter into phone information and select lte , it won't go back to 3g or 2g then.
If u want the firmware links PM me.
4. Once u flash lp firmware u won't be able to work on miui kitkat. So when u flash miui lollipop the phone performance will be so slow due to 1gb ram..it isnt enough for background apps to run. So if u want to revert and go back to miui KitKat just make a backup of miui kitkat (System, boot , firmware ,Efs <- (efs is important coz it contains imei number which gets sim working) before flashing lp firmware. So u can restore easily from twrp.

Yes all custom roms doesn't provide gapps...install arm pico gapps
Mokee rom i tried few months later, it had battery draining issue.
Root access is already available in developer options no need of supersu.
Im having the same device as u have. Don't flash custom kernels it has overclocked cpus nd gpu and doesn't provide good multitasking.
