Moto G7 extremely poor battery life - Moto G7 Questions & Answers

Hello,
i got a friend of mine a moto G7 (as i always had good expierience with moto G5/G6) and after some month (5?) he told me battery life was very poor. today he finally brought me the phone to take a look...
the phone was fully charged in the morning, now (after 5 hours) it has 55% left. no data, no bluetooth, no screen time...
battery usage says the phone will run for 5 more hours with 55% left...
battery usage only lists these:
System 11%
mobile network standby 4%
Display 3% (22 mins)
standby (4h 53mins) 1%
what can i do?

Without knowing more than you've written, if this were my device I'd be tempted to backup everything and then do a factory reset.
Otherwise a more detailed battery monitor might help:
GSam Battery Monitor
AccuBattery

Hi, try to disable Digital Well Being completely. I did it and the battery life increases a lot.

What happen to my battery life?

since this weekend when i start noticing my average charge got me about 8 hour of battery life with barely any use. I've flash and updated my phone to Twin rom by myn and flashed the collin battery script. Took the phone off @ 5pm and now it 9:39pm and im @ 0% in 4:39 hr i burned through 100% battery with the phone on idle.
40% Cell usage (Time with out signal 0) allways full bar
34% Idle usage
22% Android System
4% Display

Increased Battery Life

I am running CM10.1.3.1 with the nitest 7/20/2013 kernel and FC19 modem, on an Onite 1900 mAH battery.
I used many of the tips in this post;
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2357417
10 hours overnight with minimal usage, my battery now drops to 78% and shows 4 days 15 hours of similar usage before the battery will be drained fully. I've never, since buying the phone new, had better than 26 hours of stand-by time show up with a fully charged battery. I'm now showing 5 days.
Of course, screen usage is still the big impact, so actually using the phone drains it just as fast, but it is nice to know that, if I am not using it, I don't have to keep it plugged in all the time now.
I could be completely wrong about this but...
Have you been rebooting your phone? From what I've read rebooting the phone can throw off the battery stats. Basically the battery storage and usage is all the same its just the reporting thats off. I'm guessing battery stats get readjusted over time if the phone remains powered on.

Battery Life lately....?

I noticed about 3ish weeks ago that my battery was depleting at a faster rate than before on my GoldenEye 4.2.2 ROM
Here's where it gets strange...
Regardless of my screentime I think that my battery depletes the same...right now I have had 56min on screen time and my battery is 48%
I tested how much time I could get out of my phone, and I can go from 100% to 0% with about 4ish hours of screen time....
I seriously feel that I'm getting more efficient usage by having my screen ON rather than off...
Here's my stats right now
Screen: 37% 56 minutes
Cell Standby 25%
Media Server 15%
Device Idle 7%
Skype 5%
Android OS 4%
Android System 2%
Seriously, whats going on? why is my battery being depleted so much with so little screentime???????
It's something Google did with the new update of Google services. No one knows exactly what it is tho.

Battery overnight

7% of battery overnight.
Wifi, 3G, google now and side clock on.
Is this normal?
Standby Cell=2% (5h on time)
Android OS =1% (13m cpu)
Standby Device = 1% (4m cpu, 28m active)
I too loose between 5-7% overnight (8 Hours). Although the battery life of Edge+ is pretty good while in use, I have noticed that standby of the device isn't as impressive as earlier Note variants (Yes, I'm comparing with Note series).
WiFi - ON
Auto Sync - ON
2-3 Apps with Notification ON
Samsung Pay on Screen Off - ON

Your CPU seems to be idle 95% of the time! I never checked mine but yes, mine drops that much too! I don't think that's a rare case with this phone!
Ok so it is good right?
Then why it drains so much overnight?
Depinding on my signal strenght ,i saw -10% overnight ,ok maybe i slept like 10 hrs insted of 7-8 but still . Battery info said that the juice went to Cell signal standby or something like that.

yep, same here... so maybe it depends on the strength and quality of cell signal..
will test in the next days...
I am sure it cannot be any samsung app/service as I have disable 200 of them with package disabler pro
also, location/3g/wifi/sync/googlenow always on is the same setup I had on OnePlus One, that was using barely .5% per hour
it also true that on the OnePlusOne I could also turn off the notification light during night, while with this I cannot so it could happen that the light keeps on flashing for 5 hours, draining battery
also, I have edge clock on at night, still some drining...
I thought the deep sleep or idle drain was caused by lollipop, no? I lose over 10% from a 7hr sleep, even if I turn the WiFi off. WiFi eats up a lot of my battery for some reason, and I know my connection was good too.

It's been 5 nights and I confirm it drains 1% per hour.
This is my usage really bad...
8% in 6h
Night clock on
Wi-Fi on
4G on
Sync on
I received 5 emails so notification light has been blinking for almost 5h
Don't understand, cos stats are not that bad...
Think yourself lucky. I'm losing 50% overnight.
Battery life impressive during the day though

I solved my problem: night watch...
With night watch on I lose 1% per hour at night, with night watch off I lose 2% in 6h
I was consistently losing 2%-3% per hour overnight. But once I found an overactive app (Plume) and changed from instant notifications to 30 minute polling, my battery life has drastically improved. I've also used Package Disabler to disable bloatware on my device.
The past couple days my battery has been around 97% - 98% when I wake up in the morning.

Battery drops 10-15% per hour

Hello, I got my G6 about a month ago and it's been doing very well. Battery life was good, everyone was quick and snappy. Now a month later, I'm having the same issues as everyone else. When my phone is idle, it takes up about 11-22% of battery life. I usually close other apps so the Screen and Phone Idle takes up most of the battery. I will go to school with 95% charge and find it to be 70-80% after a few hours of no use. When I use it, the battery drops 10-20% per hour. For example, It was 100% this morning at 10:30am. At 12:20pm, its now 61% with only 2 hours of medium usage. I tried all the tips but battery sucks and I cant last a full day without the phone almost dying. Anything else I can do or am I just stuck with a crappy battery life? My LG G Stylo had a better battery life with only 3000 mAh...
hard resset the phone, i think u got a hiden mallware, coin miner or something, hard resset the phone!
