Need Stock ROM, boot image - Xiaomi Mi A1 Questions & Answers

Basically, I fricked up and for some reason, my nandroid backup is stuck on boot animation after restoring it. I think I need to flash the system image again, and maybe even the boot image. Would be greatful if I got the latest (December 2019) ROM. And this is a stretch but I could also maybe use the stock recovery. Thanks!

You're not obligated to answer this because you helped me enough, but how can I flash the OTAs provided in the post? Can I just flash them using twrp or do I need to use the Mi Flash tool as I've heard?

You are probably using an outdated version of SuperSU, that apparently doesn't support latest Marshmallow builds. Try this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/supersu/2014-09-02-supersu-v2-05-t2868133

I guess it's r24.
You will then need to use vendor image from MHC19Q factory image. You can find the vendor images here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6p/general/mhc19q-images-roms-t3352781

You can flash it via TWRP. I don't think sideloading would work for flashing img files.
And BTW, this was the fastest conversation I ever had on XDA

Then flash it from bootloader, it's the easiest way. Connect your phone to the PC, while in bootloader mode. And then flash it using the following command:
Code:
fastboot flash vendor vendor.img

No need for a donation or thanks button. You just get it resolved, it will be sufficient for me. Is your ROM synced with r25 or r24? It just came out a day ago. Just cross check.

Stock recovery question/request

I was hoping someone could help me out. I searched the forums but couldn't find anything. Is there any way to extract the recovery image from the firmware zip? I tried to do so on my PC but I received an error saying the zip was invalid which I'm assuming is because it's signed by HTC. I'm trying to avoid flashing the firmware in RUU mode since I then lose root. My goal is to be on the stock recovery with root so I can receive OTA's when they are available. If not, does anyone happen to have a copy of the stock recovery for the 1.19.605.22 software . I'd appreciate any help. Thanks.

Stock Recovery - VZW - 1.19.605.22
Great thanks. Saw this tool on a couple of other sites but only for Linux. Didn't know there was a Windows version. It's pretty straight forward. Feeling kinda dumb for missing it.

Is it safe to upgrade to TWRP 3.0.2?

Hi there.
Is anyone here using TWRP 3.x? I'm still on 2.x, since I read of lots of problems with newer versions of the recovery on this device, but I'd like to upgrade now. Can anyone give me some feedback?
Thanks in advance
It works but as with multiple posts not with Aroma.
Sent from my SM-N930F using XDA-Developers mobile app
I see no reason to update if u have no issue on 2.x. sometimes upgrade is just a no go.

Try it.. It totally a new design You can revert back, if you don't like it.. By flashing the image through the new twrp itself.

If you're trying to downgrade, it means that you've flashed TWRP.
If you've flashed TWRP, it means that you already know how to flash a custom recovery.
If you already know how to flash a custom recovery, then this is EXACTLY the same thing. Just pick an older version of TWRP and flash it the exact same way you would flash any version of TWRP.
And if you don't even know how to do that, google is your friend.

I've already provided both, the stock (untouched) BOOT and the patched BOOT (v10.0.4.0).
Sorry for this silly question but what does this patched boot image include? Does this get rid of that "unlocked bootloader" warning/wall of text from showing every time I boot my device?
