Nexus 4 Camera Problem or something else?

Today i experienced a strange problem with the Nexus 4 Camera. I took some pictures of a kid playing in the park. It was the day time around 1:30 PM and the weather was somewhat cloudy. The pictures in which the kid stood still were good but in which he was running or moving the showed strange ghosting kind of effect in them. I have attached the photographs here. Look at the face of the kid how it seems distorted. Does anybody else experienced a similar issue.
The camera settings were on Auto and HDR was enabled during the shoot.
Nothing wrong with the camera, just the setting. HDR mode shouldn't be used to capture motion. Only use it for still objects/scenery
Sent from my Nexus 4
The ghosting is normal as the phone actually takes 2 pictures at different exposure brackets. If your hand moves between shots then the algorithm will have a hard time merging them.
Yeah it's HDR that's causing it.
Right, that what i was thinking. Ghosting is quite different from the effect in these pictures. Must be HDR. i did not get time to experiment with turning it off. but i'll try again.
Thanx for the replies.

[Q] Quality of Front Facing Camera

Just recently my front facing camera has gotten really bad and I do not know why. I am going to include two pictures I have taken. The first one is a perfectly normal picture and the second one is crappy as hell, blurry as can be and looks like a webcam from the 90s.
Both pictures quality is 1900x1080 just the quality is drastically different. I recently updated to 4.3 and right after that the quality of the camera was the same as the first picture... hours later I took a picture and its quality mimics that of the second one. Any ideas? It isn't focusing, obviously I'm not zooming. I don't know what the problem is.
Does anyone have the .apk for the camera i could possibly re-install??
Also here is a test i just did. I took a picture with snapchat and I saved the image, this picture is #3.
I then went into the Camera and took a picture again and this is its quality, blurry.
I am definitely starting to think that the camera is bugged.
I have noticed that noise removal kicks in on mine when taken in dim light. The ISO on the front camera is high and I find the pictures are noisy unless taken in bright light and noise removal is only applied if the light is dim enough. The 3rd picture looks quite a bit noisy and it looks like the automatic noise removal was applied to picture 2 and 4.

I have exactly the same problem with the blurred effect. Did you find the solution?

[help] OIS is not working

i just got my G2, and i took pics in night time with enough lights, and i do notice blurred lines. Is there any settings i can enable for OIS?

Ois is enabled by default. It's not a software thing, it's a hardware feature.
The g2 is horrible at night pictures regardless of the lighting so you hand has to be very calm and steady to take somewhat moderate pictures.

Camera focusing noise

Guys I've noticed when recording a video and I focus on something close the focusing noise comes through when playing the video back. When I move away from the object I can hear the camera ree focus but the buzzing is not loud. The refocusing noise is only loud when I focus on something close.
How is the camera? Can you make with the camera close macro photo's?

I have not had that experience. I just tried it now in my office and I didn't hear any focusing noise. I went from focus on a wall about 10 ft away to a water bottle maybe 10 inches away and no focus sound.
The video was not made in total silence you could hear some people moving around in the background but it was pretty quiet.
I was super impressed with how quickly it refocused though!

The camera is very impressive. The auto focus is faster than my DSLR. The picture quality is better than any smart phone I ever had. There was a lot of talk about the lack of Image Stabilization but my last phone had stabilization and i often got blurry photos in low light anyway. The 6p gets crisper shots w/o the stabilization.
You can't really take "macro" photos w/o using a macro lens adaptor. You can get rather close though. I have found the auto focus will focus on things as close as 5 inches away (I measured it).
The autofocus can refocus from less extreme distances so quickly that you can't even really see it. It is almost instant.

Thanks for the confirm that macro shots works with auto focus. How about 5 inches? How much cm?

I'm pretty sure that's the camera focusing. Not sure if it's software or hardware?
Is anyone else experiencing it?
I just took a couple of test videos and noticed that there is a slight sound when focusing. However, it's only discernible with the volume way up. At that point you're going to hear all kinds of other distracting/background noises as well (in my case the hum of the fridge and my fan). Not really a deal-breaker for me.

That you hear the auto focus in your movie you take to record is not good..

I'm pretty sure that sound is your hand moving the camera not the lens focusing.
It's definitely the autofocus. Put the phone next to your ear and tap to focus for a picture. You'll hear very fast clicks. My best guess is this is the laser firing repeatedly for laser auto focus. A diode firing can make a sound. Idt there is anything that can be done about this.

With a wide angle lens auto focus works at under an inch

Washed out rear camera

Had my S10+ since launch and hadn't really had any complaints until today.
I was taking some photos indoors and they looked really washed out and lacked sharpness Vs. my girlfriend's pixel 3. Tried with the scene optimiser and HDR on/ off to no avail.
Never had an issue with the camera and I am sure I would have noticed had this happened before.
Wondering if anyone else has had a similar issue noticed this with a recent update?
I also feel the camera quality degraded since july update

Weirdly it seems to be the vivid setting on the display, not the camera itself.
Sent some pictures to myself from another phone in the same lighting setting (bedroom lamp level) and they also looked washed out but didn't on the original phone.
Turned the display to natural and everything looked right!
Weird as everything else is more vivid with 'vivid' turned on, but it seems to wash out low light photos, especially with people in them
