Overall love - Motorola One Hyper Real Life Review

Yes, yes, it's possible to love a phone. Heck, you sleep next to it, don't you? Rate this thread to indicate your love for the Motorola One Hyper, all things considered. A higher rating indicates that the Motorola One Hyper is an incredible phone that you enjoy tremendously. You love it.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!

Good battery life smooth processor bought it in box with screen protector and two cases for €90 can't complain it's a great phone.

Are there any plans to develop for this phone ?
I just bought a One Hyper and was wondering if anyone was planning on developing , atleast achieving root . I believe this will be able to have bootloader unlock. Motorola usually allows for it .
This seems like a cool phone . I love the notch/punchholeless display and 3.5mm and microSD port . I know the SOC is a bit older @ Snappy 675 but it ought to do what I need.
I just hope there will be some devs that atleast do one rom . But we'll see how popular the device is . Lot of phones in this range these days . Honestly I just bought it for the amber color lol
Root would be sick though .

I called motorola and it looks like they are going to allow Bootloader unlock . You have to go through their hoops to do it but it will be possible. I asked if they could unlock my bootloader from the factory and they said no cause it voids the warranty but if I want to do it I can just follow the steps .

YEET BØRTHØR!!! Upon first impressions The One hyper is heavy 210gr if im not mistaken . Screen is tall but doesnt feel too narrow like the samsung a10 and a20 ect line .
Colors are bright blacks are deep . Real nice device so far . Camera is as youd expect . pretty incredible. I like the moto ui too . moto actions app is awesome I like the 2 chop for flashlight . Very cool device. So far very happy with it .

This phone is absolute trash . Wifi drops where ive never had it drop before on any phone ever . It constantly freezes up when browsing . the whole phone too not just the apps and not for a few seconds but 15-45 seconds .
My Galaxy note 4 had only 3gb ram and never froze . Not impressed . This things needs a custom rom service debloated or its virtually unusable . The free moto G6 I got did better than this POS .

Everything I've heard about this phone has said there is little to no bloatware on it (unless you count the Motorola software as "bloat"). As for the lag, maybe factory reset the phone and see if that helps?

No such issue on my side. Had many Moto phones, and that one has the best cellular signal, even on my village.
Nothing to complain about, same for WiFi.

not me . this thing is useless. no one can hear me talking during calls . wifi drops .
NEVER had any troubles like this with any other phone.
Thank goodness this is only a carry me over until my Purism Librem 5 ships sometime in the next several months.

Getting mine soon, haven't upgraded a phone in awhile. I'll report back.

I am on t-mobile. Been using it for the last 3 days and it seems fine. No dropping of wifi and no signal issues. I'm in midwest

It seems to be fine with me
The only problem is it doesn't support T-Mobile Wi-Fi Calling and VoLTE
Cam is same as Z4
Speaker is very loud

downgrading this device imho to absolute junk . Everyone told me dont get a motorola . I see why now . in addition to dropping wifi . The one hyper now freezes up relatively often.
I cant wait until my Librem 5 V.2 GNU linux phone ships . But until sometime next year im stuck with this thing . I hate it . I dont even carry it on me anymore cause its so worthless.
To think this all started from me using my Galaxy Note 4 to illuminate a faulty door I was fixing for my friend and it dropped and destroyed the phone which set me off on a veritable cascade of failphones .
Ahh well , no good deed goes unpunished. This device should be priced at 100.00USD .

You complain too much, why don't you just buy a different phone man. At least stop posting the same crap and whining

Bought this phone for the screen being notchless and 128gb storage. wifi drops sometimes, not constantly. Mostly in clash of clans for some reason but hardly anything else. 4G and calls are strong. No problem with people hearing me, volume is loud, main problem is screen brightness, even on 100% it's nowhere near as bright as my old Moto G5 on even 25% brightness.
But not had one single problem with the phone freezing or hanging. Even with multiple apps, NFC and music streaming over bluetooth.
Nice mid range handset.

My experience with the Galaxy S2 for the last 21 days

Hi all,
Im a new member of the forum (duh!) and I was brought here after searching a couple of things in google and it seems to hit this place more often than any other site, I've been using the Galaxy S2 for the last 21 days and here are my thoughts:
The design of the over all hardware is just premium, phone feels extremely great on the hand and the weight is just amazing! It does not feel plasticy at all as what some review sites say, for what its worth the feel is extremely premium. Tactile response on the buttons and home key is also great!
The screen is great but I see some flaws/technology limitation here and there or maybe my display is just faulty? Why is the left side slightly a bit darker than the right side of the display, its pretty noticeable even upto 50% brightness.
Samsung has advertized this as a 0.1ms response time screen but I do see some ghosting in some apps and also when dropping the notification tray, a friend of mine who has the original Galaxy S says theres no ghosting on the SuperAMOLED
Black levels are INSANELY MINDBLOWINGLY AMAZING!! I cant stress this enough! Being a fan of high end plasma displays, the SAMOLED+ just blows everything out of the water! I have to admit that if your using the phone just before bed time ( when all the lights are off ) you can definitely tell that the screen is powered on when displaying a black image but its extremely great! The lightning is so faint and perfectly uniform!
Performance ( speed ) is really great, coming from a lower end andriod phone the Galaxy S2's performance is just through the roof! Aside from the innate micro-jitters from andriod everything else is on steriods!
I really like how the Samsung UI is made especially the swipe to SMS/Call, its pretty simple yet very effective! Messaging and contacts are pretty straight forward!
GPS accuracy is spot on, I can easily get 10M locked accuracy on ~9 sats and locking speed is like less than 10 seconds!
Battery life is a bit lacking for my usage but hey I cant expect a device with a dualcore and 4.3" screen to last me 24hrs with all the things Im doing, I also have 3G data enabled with some facebook and twitter widgets and some personal email stuff going around, I also use the music player alot, depending on the usage I get about 16-19hrs.
Wifi strength is just average or maybe its just my weak router at home but on the same spot my laptop can get a very solid signal where the S2 loses it from time to time.
Speaker output is very acceptable, nothing really to write about.
Call quality is "just average" as everyone I've called says that my voice is either pretty low or theres a very slight echo.
Over all the phone is good ( not great ) it kinda meets the expectation, Im a little disappointed on the display since I really believed on all the marketing things they have made for both SuperAMOLED and SuperAMOLED+ , I payed about $680 for this phone and I still have a few days left to either return this and get an exchange or a full refund.
Sorry for the long wall of text and my poor english (not my first language)
Share your thoughts on the device and your opinion on what Ive posted, Thanks!!

I've never owned the original Galaxy S but I've read some posts about that, with a decent heaphones the difference is day and night, not too much of an issue for me though but I can understand the gravity of this.

Try one the "praised" Custom-Roms =) I got much more satified since using them, especially battery life improved (still not state-of-the-art, but acceptable).
But I'm also searching for a solution for the poor call-quality. Every second call i have I'm told that people can understand me hardly. Hardware-design failure?

bought the biggest one, you will need an extra back cover but it comes with
the battery 28 euros for a 2750 mAh battery which at least for me by now
works perfect is a good price i believe, the batteries seem very stable and they also have the message below stated on the site
This Samsung Galaxy S2 battery (2600 mAh, Black) contains advanced technical components and has been tested according to strict CE safety standards. The Samsung Galaxy S2 battery contains a chip that prevents overcharging and short circuiting. Next to this the Samsung Galaxy S2 battery is made from high quality cells that do not suffer from a so-called 'memory effect'.
i have been on this battery now with wifi or 3g connect at all times for 30 hours
and i have 40 % power left. fairly heavy use every morning, heavy use in the evening work 9am to 6 pm mostly screen off but checking FB Twitter newspaers etc pretty frequently.

I wont be messing with the ROM yet since im still in the grace period for a return, for the battery I dont think ill spend anything more to make the phone thicker or anything I also understand that the 16hrs is acceptable for the usage that I do.

Firstly, nice review Flightless.
Secondly, Caviera, could you please show any reference to your statement. I'm curious to know. AFAIK not so many review site truly measure audio output/quality, except GSMArena but they haven't yet review SGS2. Although in their most recent reviews, for example for the SGS+ they put SGS2 statistics in the same page for us to compare, as you can see below:

I am not very techie, but I can say the numbers do not differ much there. Or does it?
Mine totally disaster with the Galaxy S2 for the last 21 days.
Replaced 4 units within one month due to pink spot (wasn't know that's issue), easily overheating, power button hardware failure, very low mic volume during calls, and camera mechanism noise problems.
Also waited for another one month to get it repaired/exchanged to my 5th unit. Long run disaster, bad experience to own SGS2 in the first place.
Now start to use SGS2, found it really a nice on hand, useful and powerful smartphone.
My experience is that this phone is amazing... however the GPS is not so amazing. Nothing past 10m... at least navigation works with all the tweaks I've applied.

WTF, 1 month to get a new unit ?
thought that would go faster as this is a manufacturers mistake i would assume?
good thing you didnt flash any custom roms or rooted the phone before sending it back then.. unless you did and already have a jig
from first glance the unit worked flawless for me, bought it in the NL, no issues at all except for the battery drain in the original firmware and the 2.3.3 OS
I flashed after a week over to Litening v5 with ninpheta 2.0.5 kernel
mostly U/c to 1000 or 800 mhz with a little bit of under voltage aswell.
but sometimes for show off or heavy games i boost it to 1400 or 1600 MHZ also .
with a little U/V and phone is fast and stable as a Rolls Royce Phantom <)
Phone gets a bit heated when it is under heavy use or when charging,
but at least my personal belief is that the reason for this happening
is simply because there is not a metall etc bezel around this phone
like it would for example be on an iphone, surely all that metal must spread out the heat to even it out??
Phone was also heating up under stock rom with heavy use so or charging so
i believe that it is not really heating up to much
but because of the bezel thing mentioned above it feels a lot hotter.
what do you guys think?

Yes, over one month at retailer shop where i bought my SGS2 in UK. I have no ideal why they need more than a month to diagnose the phone (checked online with diagnose status). Btw, problem was found on original unrooted preloaded fw and did root the phone to solve the problem, unfortunately it can't be solved. And it's not jigged. That time was suspect hardware problems then just send it for service without thinking too much. It's still under warranty anyway. As a result they replaced another new unit for me.
Cross-fingers. Hope no more problems on my current SGS2.
I also had to wait for 30days on my 3rd replacement but I was able to use the phone till then, now processing another replacement since it has yet another defect.. waiting time is another 30days for approval.
As for wifi, even with barely any signal, i've always hit the max speed of my bandwidth during the speed test

I also realize that my SGS2 WiFi signal always at very low bar (one bar), where placed beside my laptop (full bar). And distance to WiFi router only about 5 meter away. Is it something wrong with the SGS2 WiFi module or just another software problem again. Don't tell it's hardware problem again.

Sounds like something is wrong with the actual transmitter, wireless card or what to call it, my wifi on a real ****ty sweex router has good strength and I can even be in the basement of our complex and still have decent strength, I live on the third floor so the basement is pretty far away, in the house everywhere I have full strength,.

Is the phone good?

My 15 year old nephew wants a mobile. Main use will be music and free games. I was looking at Samsung Galaxy Mini and a user suggested this phone which seems to be available in India as Dell XCD35.
Is the phone good for the price.can he download and play games? How is ram and internal memory?
Would users suggest to but this phone?
I have read there are battery drain problems. Are these solved now?

It's better than a galaxy mini because it has a better screen. Battery is as good as any other Android smartphone. 512mb ram & 512mb rom. The camera is poor, especially in low light & doesn't have any flash. Like the Galaxy mini it is a low end phone with a relatively slow armv6 cpu, so most games will work, but some of the more demanding 3D games wont work.
The ARMv6 cpu also means that it can't run the official version of Adobe Flash or Google Earth, or a few other apps.
Depending on what's available in your country & the prices it is probably the best phone for the money, but it can't compete with higher end phones (which are usually at least double the price).
yeah its a great phone
I love it. But realy you must install a custom rom because stock sucks much. Cm7 has a great battery life! I can have 2-3 days buut heavy use internet and games 1day. I love it for 130€ its great! Realy.
Thanks for the replies. I can understand that high end games won't run. But it seems a great value for money phone, the screen size and resolution are really impressive in specification, hope in reality too they are good. I will surely suggest this phone only.
Well yes, also highly recommended by me.
I bought one while my HTC was in warranty repair and first I was a bit affraid that it would be crap. After a few weeks I found it to be an excellent phone.
Now I sold the ZTE to my father a couple of weeks ago and I started to miss it a week after, ... and I have a desire HD believe that?
I just ordered one in the Nederlands for 100 Euro which will arrive tomorrow and I am feeling happy again.

Now I am firm that this is the phone to buy. Thanks everyone for their inputs.
The phone is good(I think u might have bought it by now.) But watch out for Dead pixels on the screen, speaker clipping(the speaker flutters while playing songs that have bass), the white color status bar that makes a mark on the OLED screen, no loudspeaker in FM Radio app, no LED to show u missed calls(there is a back button led but doesn't flash), The phone OVERHEATS while charging, removing the back cover is like peeling off formica(plywood- whatever u call it) from ur table...
Otherwise its a really good phone. U can find workarounds for the above problems.
And BTW u can play HD high end games...
I still love this phone!!

A couple of thoughts about that one.
Dead pixels. Haven't seen one of the 10 Blades I saw.
Speaker clipping. Well the thing is at least 5 times as loud as my Desire HD and the sound of the speaker has some body.
No led, true but also alot of other phones have the same issue.
New ones use LCD not Oled, the quality of the screen is very very good.
The back, well yes, but I rather have a back were RF signals like wifi, gps etc can get thru. Wipes the floor with my Desire HD in terms of wifi, gps, phone signal and speaker
The dead pixels are somethings u really have to look for on a black background. You may have them but not even notice. About the speaker-> listen to something like Sun Is Up by Inna and you'll see how it clips. And I might have been wrong with oled or lcd... mine is TFT(Gen 2){Just saw that on the net}.
I have to agree that this phone is value for money! Overheating while charging is not much of a problem, but it`s fact. The only thing that I think the phone lacks is battery life, its poor while playing games or browsing /especially on 3G/. I`ve seen worst 3.2px cameras, so I think its barable (Using Camera 360 improves picture quality for me). As a whole, its a great phone for a great price!
I liked this phone so much when I got it that I'm now stuck with 3 of them. Blade was my first Android phone and while it was a cheap one, it was still better than any of the Nokia phones I had previously owned. Like many have mentioned, it does lack in some fronts, camera is just utterly horrible, pretty much the only thing it's good for is barcode scanning, so if you want to take decent (or even good photos), better grab a real camera with you. The speaker in Blade is INCREDIBLY good! It's the best I've heard so far and I've had way more expensive phones.
Wow, thanks for the good reports everyone. But the budget is increasing so I was looking for alternatives.
Thinking of getting the Samsung Galaxy Y S5360 or Vodafone Smart 858 U8160 (not sure if it will work for non-vodafone SIM)

The problem with that is those two phones are much worse than the Blade. Especially the U8160, they are terrible.
You have to spend double the Blade's price to get anything significantly better & you could easily pay 50% more for a worse phone.

[Q] Should I Buy N4 ( Experts Needed Please )

Hi Xda Members
How are you ?
I have some thoughts in my mind lately, I bought last year the GNX. I really Loved it, but there was one problem ( Signal drop ), each time i call someone the signal drops. they said its Software problem but it was never solved (with me), even with different ROMS.
However, i broke it by mistake.
so i waited for the N4 , waited for Nov 13 and as all of you know, OUT OF STOCK! till now
am really nexus google fan ( I love how nexus device are built ) especially that all the buttons are touch in the screen ( i dont like the Galaxy series )
For those who have the Device or really an expert in ANDROID market :
1- Now its Mid January and no news about stocking, we don't know when this device will be available. Do you think there will be new devices in the Market soon ( HTC ... etc ) maybe ?
2- If there are some new devices , do you think buying N4 will be useless at that time?
( If there are any new Devices may come to the market soon , any recommendations ?)
About the Problems People complaining about :
I heard some complaining about these things ( For those who own the device ) i need really the truth.
1- Some Buttons ( Volume - Power ) are moving, maybe not strongly held in place.
2- Back glass near the Speakers may get Damaged because of sound ? or glass may break when you put it the pocket or scratches ( I read a thread long ago )
3- Signal Drops after using WiFi ( 3g does not work after WiFi ) you need to restart network ( what about normal Radio signal does it drop like GNX ) ?
.....
So i want some thoughts from people with knowledge, would you recommend me this device after all this delay in Stock while more device are approaching with new tech ?
Thanks and Sorry for Long talk
The S4 pro should remain top dog at least for another 4-5 months. Unless you're willing to wait roughly half a year for the exynos 5, I think now is a decent time to buy the nexus 4 provided you can get your hands on one by February. But there has been no concrete information provided by Google about when it might be back in stock.
As far as problems go, the glass back is fairly fragile and scratch-prone. I really recommend that you use a case. There is slight coil whine from the ear piece if you really pay attention to it. The stock kernel runs pretty hot and battery life without the 3g wakelock fix is poor. With a custom kernel and undervolting, heat and battery life are very acceptable. I personally have not had any problems with data or signal drops.
While build quality is so-so as far as internals go, all performance-related issues for the n4 can be remedied with software; the price for the core technology you're getting is unbeatable regardless. All-in-all, I would recommend the n4 provided you can get one in a reasonable time-frame.

I got sometimes a signal drop but it's in the same places I had it with my evo 3d so I think it's not phone's issue. Buttons are made with quality of Samsung - they won't fall out but you may hear this ugly sound when it gets pressed. And the back glass... No idea yet.

Nice reply Consolidate ^_^
So
1- Signal is better than previous
2- Some scratches may occur ;( i hate using cases i love the normal phone way
3- Some sounds may be heard while clicking the buttons
4- heat problems
5- Battery problem was in the previous nexus too , Low battery life !
I hope they solve the heat with some ROMS or they update the stock ROM
and if they stocked it in this month or februery i should buy it
I hope all the delays in the stock because LG is trying to solve these issues
Thanks again guyz for reply

I also recently upgrade from my OnePlus One to Mi A1 2 days ago. I also don't game much, and currently I am very happy with it. (Or should I say the Pro's more than it's Cons)
The most important thing you need to be wary of is the 3.5mm jack. If you use 3.5mm jack a lot, I suggest you go for their official earphones or you use those big headphones. Otherwise you will be pretty much stuck with the "hissing sound" that produce by it. Currently it pairs with my In Ear Pro HD, and very satisfied with it.
Other than that no major problems with it. Although it lacks NFC and EIS/OIS is a huge bummer. But overall it's a great device all around.

About those 3 points you mentioned. Then it's the perfect device for you. And nope it doesn't feel cheap at all, feels solid and premium (although not made of out glass, probably I am coming from all plasticity device? lol). It's like holding a iPhone 7 in your hand tbh. If no one pay attention what phone are you holding, they shud probably guess it's a iPhone 7. Very similar design. Well battery life is very good, I have it for 2 days and the factory charge still not finish yet (got around 70% out of the box now sitting at 35%). Well about system updates, as expected from Google device. So yeah
hell yes

I couldn't agree more! I am using a flipkart smartbuy rubber cover along with it and it covers up the xiaomi branding at the back and has no branding of its own.. So a couple of people at my office who saw the phone from the back asked if its iphone 7+!! Even otherwise the in hand feel, the audio quality and the potrait mode in camera are the best i have seen in a phone for a while!
And about the issues, the hissing sound issue does not exist for me.. So you might not even have it.. The lack of stabalization is a bummer but can be enabled with root access, though i wish xiaomi provides an update to enable it natively.

Currently doing the same thing you do. I am still using my Nexus 6, but the battery is slowly dying - so it wasn't actually choice. I think the A1 is a very good, and also cheap choice. If you are not into photography, though, consider a Redmi Note 4 (the 4GB RAM / 64GB HD version). The Redmi Note 4 is identical (hardware-wise) to the A1 in all aspects but the camera (worse) and the battery (better / bigger), and it is available even cheaper (60€ for me, but I am actually into photography).
Can you make a mini review between nexus 6 and mi a1 (pros, cons) after a couple of days ?! Thx

DONT buy Doogee brands

hello to every one . pls read this and think about .
I am a mobile repair specialist and seller too . in 2017I sold a few models of doogee . Each had its own problems
(fingerprint ,bad battery , not ota update, bad 4g and more . So I changed them with other brands
I decided to install them firmware again , Each one found a new problem, and some diedد
so i send few email to company . after 3 month i recived this answer ( pls check our site
Now pay attention Do not waste your money
1- doogee havent a suporter for your problems
2- Doogee havent a good sound spk and calling voice
3-Most profiles are unrealistic ( camera . battery , finger print time , ota update,.........
4- There is no definite way to install the firmware, and any problem can be foundEven if they are of a model
5- If you have this brand, forget about updating to the newer Android
6- The handsets are not even supported by Google, for example, look at the Smart Lock .If available, it will be removed after reset by recovery or it will not have a face lock . check android 7 original options
7- Go to the site and you will see thousands of problems said and there are no answers
8- I was fired by writing the brand problems. Because they could not solve, but I will write on different sites.
9- ok now , you can read and writing your comment about my idea
I agree. Bought a Doogee Mix and its trash. The system is buggy, gps overheats the phone and restarts, very very bad wifi... I dont remember more things, but I stopped using it many months ago. Trash phone.
Doogee mix is just a scrap.
I also had similar problem and finally after 4 month I have to throw away.

it is a brand to ban, no support and devices have too many problems.
The MIX smartphone is very fragile, the screen and the rear glass is broken after only two falls at low height.
The charger heats up with a strange smell and a very unpleasant whistle.
GPS is not accurate, there is no optimization, the device heats, the sound is disgusting you hear nothing in call! the double camera is false, etc...
To ban !!!
Now it's on trash
I agree, never
I agree. Doogee is garbage. I got the f7 pro when it first came out. Nothing but problems. Nothing up to spec
HaHAHa, WTF? The camera is a big big garbage, indeed. With root and a little bit tweaking, this phone rocks.
@Digo69 show me one high price gorilla glass phone, (with front and back glass) that falls to the ground from more than 50cm height and nothing is damaged. Come on. Post a video and show me that phone plz.
Because I am a pro photographer, I don't care if a smartphone camera is brilliant or not. The Doogee's one is 100% garbage. The rest of the phone is great (in this price segment) and I am a heavy and frequent user.
bit of an old thread but not to old.
Im after ordering the S90, Im really looking forward to it arriving.
I dont care about the aftercare from the company, Im after having 3 oukitel phones over the last few years and they have non existent aftercare when it comes to their phones.
I have the miracle box and I can replace screens if they break so Im happy.

The usb port is gone a bit wonky I on mine. I use the power bank anyways so that doesnt bother me. .Love the phone.

Yeah, I had an S70lte, liked it enough thought Id order the full fat version. I never got a reply from the doogeemall.com webstore. they never once replied to any messages, so I just cancelled payment through my bank. If they don't have time to address customer concerns they don't need my money. I also noticed in the delay my order sat un-filled the price of the phone kept dropping and they still didn't send mine. Tough to want to get another after that.
I brought doogee s90. the touch doesn't work. I have to lock and unlock to make it work and the phone keeps on restarting. done factory reset but no use. the company doesn't respond to query .is there any way to fix it
100% AGREE
Same for me !
I bought a S90 ,I can still make calls with it BUT if I try to install an app ,it crashes ,whatever it is !
My wife bought a S70 Lite ,working BUT if anybody try to call her ,he can ear his own voice as a loud echo ...
So I agree !
Did I get Lucky? I have been using XDA for ... since they were created and only today created an account to post. I bought a Doogee S90 2 years back. Love the phone, its hardcore rugged and lasted. Took this thing in the ocean in Mexico (vaca) multiple water rafting trips and it awesome. Soda, food spills? Just wash it in the sink. it has been thrown, dropped many times and never a screen crack or damage.Everything works GREAT. I never experience the phone everyone posts online..... not once. I added a 128gb storage, game on it all the time and more. Even now, I'm Still using the phone 2 years later. I have never owned a Phone as tough and rugged as this. Heck, even works with Cricket Wireless (my carrier/AT&T network clone).
Only issues I have had so far.... I never got the night vision or camera attachment working, that never worked. CB radio worked, fm radio worked, 5g and more all works. Phone is water proof and tough as hell.... yea throw it across the street and wash it under the sink, take it kayaking, fishing and underwater (ive done these things), no issues there.
other issue, no android support or upgrades. the Doogee company is JUNK/Crap for not supporting their software, no firmware updates. I'm still stuck on Droid 8.1 in 2021 and im now searching like hell for a ROM hack. I want to install droid 10 or 11.... but i can't find anything. Never a software patch to fix the night-vision that never worked or cam attachment.
This may be my last Doogee phone, I read all the new phones from Doogee will not support Cricket/AT&T network bands......
SO... I love the rugged phone, whats the Doogee competitor?

Hey I'm new here. I bought a DOOGEE S86 off eBay about 6-months ago and couldn't be more pleased.
Everything works great, have dropped it about 15' off the roof a couple times. It's been swimming in my pond about 10' once. The 8500mah battery lasts me for 2 days 48 hrs. and that's using it playing videos, listening to music, using tools such as level, distance measurer, protractor, all while I might have anywhere from 20 to 50 web pages open on 4 different browsers.
I'm hard on phones. Also I still have 4g LTE service when all my friends phones can't even get a signal. Loudspeaker is awesome clear and loud.
I own S68Pro for quite a few years. It's a BRICK. You could use it as a deadly weapon. Armored as hell and heavy. Still works.
But ZERO droid updates. Do not EVER expect any software update from Doogee after the initial software.
Been using it with lineage OS since almost the start. Most things work except sound hiccups when calling with someone making it almost unusable for phone calls.
Using it for navigation/internet/backup phone since.
That said I would not buy phone without software support ever again.
As written in another post they do not release kernel source so there is not much to be done about getting newer droid on it.
Hi
I have an s86pro, rooted via magisk. And, apart from a few aesthetic inconveniences the android 10, and the absence of OTA update. Nothing to report for this model. It's true that you can easily kill someone with it. I got tired of "big" brands telling you that your phone is dead because you keep it in your pocket. Corrosion. No kidding... I'm not going to take a bag just to carry a cell phone. My s86pro fell from high, lots of times, it took fleet and other liquid, 4g+bt+24/7 hotspot, and it's my daily pda, etc., etc. Nickel autonomy. So yes it is heavy but damn it does the job and it does it well. I do not know the other models of the brand, but this model I vote for. And in customer service, they don't know their products. Contacted by email for info, unable to give an answer related to the question. In short, like most customer service these days.
In any case I like this model, great ratio / quality / price.
Hi. I have the Doogee Max V 5g, switching over from the Ulefone Armor 10 5g in late 2020 when Blu was dragging its heels getting into the 5G game and the last few Vivo X models totally sucked plus I was breaking them much faster than when I initially got on board in 2006.
Apparently I lucked out with the Ulefone Armor 10 because my speaker lasted 2 years. Most complain that theirs go sooner than that AND I was able to get mine to work on ATT. While I found the speaker for the cheap price of $8.47, no one knows how to repair it.
So, based on a cnet review that the Doogee Max V 5g blew the new Ulefone Armor 18T 5g out of the water and the specs were superior, while the prices were similar and Doogee came with an extended warranty, the decision was simple.
One nano hitch: Android 12 -- one can no longer record phone conversations from native phone app. (Caveat: no matter what you see in app store, telephone apps have been blocked from recording calls since Android 9)
I absolutely must be able to record phone calls for meetings etc.
Otherwise, I love this phone!! Yup, it's heavy, as are most rugged phones. A good thing since I often drop the poor thing on the face plate several times a day!! Nighttime, infrared and under water photography is a breeze.
We'll see how rooting with Magisk to make the telephone recording available goes.
