Google Fi G7 on Sprint MVNO (Hello Mobile) - Moto G7 Questions & Answers

Recently I got a Moto G7 from the Google Fi deal, and want to use it on Hello Mobile (Sprint MVNO). I read that I had to get the flag for the IMEI changed in their database from SPCS to PLBL.
Whom do I contact for this?
1. Google Fi customer service (I still have my service active and paused)
2. Sprint customer service (I'm not a Sprint customer)
3. Hello Mobile customer service (When I chatted with them for them it looks like it's a phone with a sprint plan, and said I had to deactivate my sprint plan)
and how to best put this question so that I can get through the tier-one customer support, to someone who knows what I'm talking about
Thanks in advance!

Unlocking Sprint Apache?!

can this be done.. i live in a country that doesn't have that phone and i was thinking of buying it from the US through Sprint.. but will i be able to unlock it and use it on my country?? does it support SIM or not?
Why not use a HTC-HERMES
You would be better off getting a HTC-HERMES based phone. most of the US phones that are EVDO-based can't be unlocked to my knowledge. The HTC TyTN 3G Phone is better every which way than the PPC6700. I've demo'ed both units and I really like the new Hermes over the 6700. Not to mention that sprint is the one of the *worse* US celluar companies out there

In a conversation with a verizon rep a few months ago, I learned that, while not advertised, it is technically possible to activate sprint phones on the verizon network. they would need the MSL (master subsidy lock) code and a second unlock code. The MSL is needed to program the phone with the phone number itself. The second code is used for deeper device programming so that it would work on other networks. keep in mind that the rep said that it is technically possible and could not point to actual instances where it had been done.
on a side note...I think that sprint uses only one frequency mode, while say...verizon uses two frequency modes (but the one sprint uses is the same one verizon uses for voice and data on evdo phones).
my understanding is that another carrier will have to add the ESN of the sprint phone to the ESN block of their phones, which is something that may be difficult to do...you would probably have to find some kind, knowledgeable rep to do this for you.
No Verizon
I'm using verizon wireless now. Before using verizon, Please read the following:
* Not only does Verizon limit the type of "unlimited" use, it imposes a quota on "unlimited" use, and terminates customers who exceed it. According to the Washington Post.[6], Broadband Reports[7], tech columnist Robert X. Cringely, many wireless industry "insider" news sites[8],[9], and countless blogs[10]; Verizon advertises "unlimited" broadand service but automatically terminates anyone using more than 5G/month (166M/day), no matter what they use the service for. This is a quota of about 15 minutes of actual data transmission time... for an "unlimited" use account. A PBS investigator monitored his bandwidth during normal use and discovered it to be 184M/day[11]. .

This is very tue of verizon. Does anyone know if this is gonna change anytime soon?
You can get the MSL (unlock) code from the Apache by using Bitpim. Check this post:

It worked for me on a Qwest phone. Sprint still wouldn't activate it for me though.
no SIM but you can now change ur ESN see here.

after my post above, I tried a few things...
here's what you would need to do :
change your esn (you will need your msl) to an esn that is in the block of the target carrier (hint, buy a cheap or give-a-way) change your esn, make sure that you calculate a checksum (there are instructions and programs all over the internet on how to change your esn). program your phone with your number: ##<your msl here># and type in your 10-digit phone number. don't worry about the dec or hex, just change the esn and program your number.

I think its going to get a little bit easier, check this out:

I'll start a new thread to make sure it gets seen
You CAN NOT use a CDMA phone on a GSM network. They are completely different signals. You can unlock a Sprint phone and force it onto Verizon. You can't force a Verizon phone onto Sprint, unless you know someone inside that doesn't mind losing their job.
Again, CDMA phones ONLY work on CDMA networks such as Verizon or Sprint.

Any help on Unlocking My HD2????

How can I "unlock" my HD2? I plan to switch from Tmobile to Verizon.
And I love my Hd2, with the custom roms and the shell 3.5.5 my phone kicksass and I have no interest in the MotorolaX.
any help???
Pm me or email

HD2 (GSM) will not work on Verizon (CDMA).
Search on GSM unlock and you will find lots of web sites to unlock your device for a fee.
I have always used GSMPHONESOURCE
It is possible to do but complicated. First of all you need to get Verizon service on a BB8830, 9630, 9650. All of which are world edition phones which have gsm and cdma. You will then need to call Verizon and enable international roaming on your plan. Turn the blackberry to gsm mode only. Pull the battery out remove sim, then insert sim into HD2. Your phone will be working on the verizon network but roaming on the att and tmobile towers.
This method worked a year ago haven't tried since, but my friend is in advanced tech at verizon said it still works.
Got mine unlocked, but it's expensive
I had checked on e-bay for "HD2 unlock". A bunch of them offer to do this for around 10 to 11 $. Paid one of them and sent him the IMEI, but he could not find the unlock code in his database. He then refunded the money and recommended another seller (I think it was swiftunlock or similar). This guy charged about 24 $, but his unlock code worked, so now the phone can take and work with any sim.

[Q] Setup for Straight Talk with AT&T MicroCell?

I just switched from AT&T to Straight Talk on AT&T for my Nexus 4. I've seen scattered posts here and in other forums saying that the AT&T MicroCell works with the AT&T Straight Talk plan as long as the MicroCell is on a valid AT&T account. As I understand, the phone will show "Roam" when it's connected through the MicroCell. Unfortunately, my phone shows "Home" which means it's not connecting.
I can't call customer service, since this isn't a supported feature by either company, so wondering if anyone has thoughts for what the issue may be or if I'm just out of luck.
My steps:
1. I de-activated the MicroCell on my AT&T account and activated it on my buddy's AT&T account.
2. After the MicroCell was activated and setup on my buddy's account, my N4 with the AT&T sim connected and showed AT&T MicroCell with no issues, so I believe the MicroCell is setup correctly with my phone number.
3. I then activated my Straight Talk plan and ported my phone number over. The process was quick and easy and my phone is now working with the ST sim. It's just not connecting through the MicroCell.
I tried rebooting the MicroCell and the phone a few times with no luck. The only thing I didn't try is removing my number from the authorized list on the MicroCell setup page on my buddy's account and then re-adding it. I've seen some posts where people could not add their number because it wasn't on an authorized AT&T sim. I've seen other posts saying it was working for a MicroCell on a business account, so maybe there's an issue there, since I'm on my buddy's personal account with the MicroCell at my home.
Any help or thoughts would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Looks like you're right.
I tried removing myself from the MicroCell on my friend's plan and re-adding myself, but it wouldn't add my phone number again, since it's no longer AT&T.
I also got a message from a Straight Talk representative explaining that it's not supported.
Considering the cites I found for this working are from a random blog on July 2012 and a couple forum posts before that, it looks like it may have worked at one point, but it doesn't work now.
so, are there any femtocells that you can use for an AT&T MVNO carrier? i am using net10 and so far my home is the only place i do no get satifactory service. was considering buying the att microcell but i geuss i shouldn't after reading this.
I'm kinda in a similar spot. A friend who has AT&T had a microcell, but moved and no longer requires it for decent voice/text coverage. We were going to leave it on his account, and put it at my place, where we don't get decent coverage. My fiance is on net10. I'm currently with T-Mobile and make heavy use of WiFi calling. I'm considering switching to AIO wireless. I know the microcell won't work for net10, but I'm curious if AIO would work, since that's an MVNO that's owned/(operated?) by AT&T.
any updates to any of this? will AIO work with a ATT microcell? What about straight talk? Consumer Cellular? Any MVNO's work with an ATT microcell..and have LTE coverage when not on the microcell?

Galaxy S4 Verizon flash Pageplus

I just picked up a galaxy s4 verizon and activated it on pageplus for the 29.95 subscription.
The issue that I am having is I flashed the CDMA portion and it doesn't work with the pageplus SIM out but when I plug the SIM in I have text and data but no voice.
I had to do the 29.95 subscription to get the phone activated but want to down grade to the $12.00 plan after the 29.95 expires. I am not a big internet user just need limited voice and text.
Any help would be appreciated...

Sorry to say it, but this most likely a Net10 issue. If they won't fix it there is nothing you can do. There is an off chance that it is a bad SIM, but Net10 will just make you get a new one (with a NEW payment) anyway so...
Seriously, dump that garbage and go to AT&T Prepaid which used to be called Go Phone, or Cricket, if you have to be on AT&T's network (I get it, I'm in the same boat)... It will work.

My current SIM from Net 10 is too big for this phone. Had to buy a new SIM. AT&T pre-paid is more expensive than Net10 for similar service.
Interestingly Amazon site says XT-1687 is fully AT&T compatible!! Really would appreciate if someone would can confirm this. Need GSM for occasional International use.

I can confirm it... I have had several SIMs in my XT1687, it supports all AT&T bands... I have had AT&T PrePaid (my current service), Cricket, and H2O wireless, all in AT&T "service". I have also had a Verizon and Boost Mobile SIM (T-Mobile) in mine for testing and they all work fine.
In previous phones I actually used Net10, but after struggling for months with MMS service, I dropped it and moved away from all TracFone service and haven't seen a problem since. A few bucks more a month are well worth it in my opinion.

Thanks for the confirmation. In the meantime also asked NewEgg to confirm, perhaps the phone has a problem or the SIM is the problem. Newegg may end up sending a replacement I will hear in about 3 days. I have been with Net10 since 2013, BYOP AT&T Samsung Galaxy S2 no problems. Then again I am not a power user.
Now that I think of it - I had put the new SIM in the Galaxy S2 to experiment - same problem no phone service but data worked fine on 3G HSPA. Makes me think SIM is the problem, or Net10 did something when moving my service.
