And did You came to conclusion what is the purpose of this unactivated and still untranslated option in Chinese language?
EDIT
I have found by myself and if I'm correct it means "Extended touch-to-focus timeout".
Strange that they didn't translate this option!

To those who like me had to read OP twice to understand:
Just open DCIM/Camera (DCIM located in internal storage where Download folder is) and create empty file lab_options_visible in Camera folder.
Thanks it was interesting

Sorry, I didn't mentioned this because I believe that something like this is self explanatory, but yes, You are right, this is correct procedure to enter in this mode.
To me most interesting option is when camera app can use two CPU cores so I have been activated this option and we will see overall impact during some time.

MFNR => Multi-frame noise reduction
SR=> automatic scene optimization
Dual SAT => camera takes picture with dual camera and then combines them in one picture (every camera shoot's in her best optical range)
Anti banding option is i believe to remove bands caused from power lines (lights) and freq. in which they operate (60 Hz, 50 Hz or auto)

Just as I have been wrought in previous post on beginning of this thread it's "Extended touch-to-focus timeout" function if I have been translated this correctly on some on-line translation service.
Why they didn't translate this and include as visible option is beyond my knowledge but I can assume that's somehow connected with certain instability or specific issues during day to day work or using camera itself.

HTC TyTN with geotags in Camera working

Hello,
I've made some experiments and I've finally found a way to have an external GPS giving the coordinates to the HTC Camera software (geotags).

I will try to make an how-to if anyone is interested, but since I had to use HTC Camera 4.02 build 26156 and I've lost the possibility to use the flash - anyone knows more builds of HTC Camera software so I can try them?
Thanks
Very intersting go on and let us know.
Cab available?
Try this, I hope it can help you.
Thanks for the input, unfortunately I get an error of "not enough available storage" with that version, so I can't run it.
Here goes the changed CAB, please make sure other applications can see the GPS as an internal one so that the camera can see it too. This version also supports the front camera, but it will only work reasonable at lower resolutions
Your feedback is welcome.
Instructions and print-screens available on my blog, although the blog is in portuguese, the Pocket PC is in english, so the images can be used as a guide to the settings:
http://mobilecoiso.blogspot.com/2007/10/htc-tytn-com-suporte-gps-activo-na.html
It worked well. Thank you
BTW Do you know how it can be used with Google Maps Mobile?

Under track location settings, it should work with "Set by Windows" but if it does not work, set it manually to the port COM5 and 9600 if you've followed all the instructions on my site to setup the internal GPS.
Thanks guys this isnt too bad, the colours are a little dark though in this version not sure if thats my imate hardware.
ive turned them all up but still looks a little on the dark side. i love the new options thought like the 6 step panoramas ... Very nice!!!.
will try the GPS out when i get home later.
just one thing with the GPS area i get this stupid error when it cant find a GPS, the error doesnt seem to go away and most of the other buttons wont work. any ideas on a quick fix for that?
Yes, I confirm that bug, it only occurs if you do not have the GPS connected, the work around is to press the red key (the one to refuse calls) and you can then use the tak manager to close the process. I may change the timeout to a shorter time, maybe it works better...
It works, go for the next step ;-)
It works, very nice, just plug&play simplicity. Good work.
But now what? After bringing the photo to my desktop, very deep in Adobe Photoshop i found the EXIF info with gps coordinates and timestamp. Exactly as you said, no problem.
Is there already functionality around that picks up this data? Suppose one could upload a photo with gps-info to something like google-mobile-maps and the photo get's mapped on the map as a poi or so?
i preaty sure flickr uses it.
xdaradar: you can use those photos on Picasa, or for instance on panoramio.com or locr.com - there are a lot of services where you can use geotags.

Thx Bull, panoramio works and so do your tags. Google earth detects the exif data correctly!
PIE has limitied functionality, it doesn't work correctly in the panoramio site when trying to upload files. Don't get the button to select photo's to upload.
Do you use this and how do you get the photo's uploaded mobile via your pda?
Thanks for the hard work This will be really cool.
great work! any luck on getting this to work while retaining the flash capability yet? thanks again.

hi,
is it possible to uninstall this version and go back to original camera software ?
better, would it be possible to use 2 of them together ?
btw, there is a software named "locr GPS Photo" at locr.com.
does it have any disadvantages ?

I think this is one of the first app which make it possible to use the build in front camera However when I make a picture with the front camera it looks very broken.. Maybe you can fix that? I uploaded a newer version of the camera app for you. Maybe it helps.

Camera Problems Thread - 3 second delay removal?

All,
I find the camera the only aspect of the TouchHD that is annoying!
Symptoms:
I have turned on and off the autofocus and still when I take photos of people who are moving they end up blurry!
I have ready other threads that cover this in more detail, but I wonder if there are any fixes people could post here? I used to have a Trinity and this took a photo instantly and never had any issues other than being at 2 x mega pixels!
Solution(?):
What I think is needed is to a) turn off auto focus b) a reg hack (anyone) that turns off the 3 second snap delay.
Cheers
Dave
i share your frustration. with a camera of this many megapixels you should be able to do much more. Would love for someone to expand on this
Megapixel count is meaningless on a cameraphone sensor size. What's really needed is a properly designed 3mpixel unit - anything more than that and you destroy the ability to take pics in anything except bright outdoors.
If you are disabling the focussing ability then what do you expect other than blurry pictures? Or am I completely missing something here?
to shot at moving people try enabling this secret camera mode, sport should be perfect for this

How on Earth did you manage to do this????
Check for a key named CapKeyDelay (there will be a few, named similarly) under HTC\Camera in the registry. Setting them all to 0 will make the camera take the picture immediately after focusing.
does taking the 'review duration' off help?
The problem is the software for sure, as the camera, apart from not having a flash, is not bad at all. Unfortunately, I checked Advanced Configuration Tool and it says that the capture delay is disabled already, meaning the delay really originates from the camera software itself. I doubt a registry change can fix it.

Well, there's a key named EnableCapKeyDelay, with a value of 0, so changing CapKeyDelayTime values didn't change anything here.
In addition to that, "after focusing" is not a solution - a "focus-free" mode (setting focus to infinity) would solve at least part of the camera problem.

This setting is to define for how long the photo will stay on screen after capturing to be able to delete it etc., so no effect on picture taking.

Indeed. The issue though is which part of the software - the driver, the part that's accessible to the user, or code within the camera chip or something obscure/inaccessible like that.
BTW, what does this "capture key delay" do?
Is the camera quicker if you lower the resolution? I had a Nokia where this was the case.

It will write the file quicker for sure, but won't reduce exposure time or focusing time, which create the pain and cause blurry pictures and missed moments.

Lumos v07 has been released,
now with complete configuration GUI and a CAB installer!
See: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=450318
Will try... reserved for later feedback..
This is a nice idea!!
the standard auto-backlight thing is terrible!!
definitely trying this!! thanks for your work
wow good job man!!!! thanks for that
Will it work on the blackstone ?
I don't have Blackstone nor know anyone who has it personally, but I assume it will work, only the program resolution will be 4:3 so I expect it to have a white strip on the bottom.
Can anyone confirm that Lumos works on HTC Touch HD?
If it does I will add WVGA support in the next release.
PLEASE someone test it and if at all possible send me a screenshot of the Main tab so I can add native support for Blackstone.

PRG type means you are adding Window name (not process name).
Other options are for classes used in an application, you can view classes used in TaskManager 3 under Windows tab. I can't implement processes because this would increase CPU usage = bad for battery.
Name of the TT7 window is just 'TomTom Navigator'
I will update the original thread
Amazing job!! My compliments
Uhm, am I doingg something wrong? On my Diamond, during the setup/calibration proces, the sensor only shows 0. When told to hold it in the dark or in the light, it always stays at 0...?
The sensor is placed in the front speaker, point it directly to a light bulb from close distance and do'n cover it with your finger.
If it still doesn't work, make sure any other auto-backlight app is disabled or it may be a hardware defect.
On my blackstone, for me the calibration is fine, when i'm in a dark room it says 0 and when under a table light it says 820
But once the calibration done, I don"t see any difference when I'm in a light room or a dark room... isn't it suppose to automatically adjust the backlight regarding the light values ?
I'm also confused with the last two steps of the wizard, the minimum/maximum desired values... when i set it, the backlight do not change on the google page... and if I don"t put the same values for minimum and maximum I get a window a the end of the wizard telling that I need to restart the wizard because the values are different.... can you please explain ....

B387 update - Adds Monochrome mode in Camera

Here are the new modes they have added : Watermark and Monochrome :
Here is a quick test I've made :
The one in the middle is the "ND" filter mode, and the one on the right is the new Monochrome mode.
It's not super obvious, but I just found out that the ISO is often smaller with the Monochrome mode.
Another thing, in the Photo or Pro Photo mode, if I cover the right lens with my finger, it just says "lenses must not be covered..." but my screen is not covered and I can still take the picture.
In Monochrome mode, if I cover the right lens, I can see my finger.
Is it finally the real monochrome mode like the Huawei P9 ?

I think so! Finally we can take pictures with the secondary lens
However, I'd really like to have your opinion about battery life the update says "optimizes power consumption for extended use", so I hope there are some changes. I've had enough with the "Android System" sucking up +20% of my battery juice.

I can't say much about the battery life yet, I just got the update 3 hours ago. I will see after a couple of days.
And about this Monochrome mode, there is no settings, it's just like the auto mode. We can't change the ISO or whatever.

Can you include a few other files as well? Everything in these directories:

I don't know which of those (if any) would require root access, so if you can pull them all and upload them it would be a big help since we don't know yet what all drives monochrome mode.

Well it did for me, but still they say it might not work for every device depending on settings and use; as some use background processes limit and it makes system process a little bit slower to launch.

na cause when you back out it goes back to default and show nothing optimized again. Makes you pickes apps again. Even after reboot. I bet if you check it will correct itsself. Sorry this does not work

I am checking my claims(on my own phone lol)
Noice I did feel it being faster
got one ui 2.1 update in Pakistan...fingerprint feels hella fast than before....firmware is off course availabile on sam mobile...try it out...definitely u ll feel difference in fingerprint
What i did:
i recorded one finger a bit over 50%, then i use the same finger of the other hand to fill it up to 100%.
This procedure i repeated twice for another two fingers.
It doesn´t make it that faster, but it´s much more comfortable, because i can use 6 instead of 3 fingers.
The problem is that 8 out of 10 times it says "no match".

It only needs to match ONCE. Why would anyone keep trying once it matched?

Are you using glass screen protector?
it works and in the one ui 2.5 it is already preset not optimized, so samsung understood why the unlocking of the device was slow and they solved this problem.
anyway thanks for the guide
