Mi Watch Chinese version, can I change firmware? - Other SmartWatches

I just bought Mi Watch, I wonder if it comes with the English language, if not, in the future being an Android Wear based system, can I change its firmware to the global version?

It has basic english language, but a lot of fucntions are in chineese. We need to wait for our friends to make some mods to change the firmware

Our friends are Xiaomi or XDA?

Both Xiaomi to release global version and users to let us change firmware to global

What do you think, is it worth to buy now the chinese version hoping there will be some mods in future in order to make it global, incl. Google Pay? Or is it too risky and we should wait for the official global version? Thanks

There's a xiaomi wear beta app here and firmware for the mi watch color that allows forced update of the firmware by SD card / root of your phone. Hopefully when someone gets hold of the global.bin file we can force it onto the chinese version

MT7-TL10 B121 International Firmware

Ne firmware from Huawei Ru
http://consumer.huawei.com/ru/suppo...x.htm?id=36521&pname=MT7-TL10&pcode=Jazz-TL10
Release date 26/01
Should be for international TL10
No chance log
Has someone tested?
Just did the update. It went well, no problem, I'm yet to find any difference from the previous ones.
Does the phone, with it's very large screen, still show LESS information than a smaller phone? C'mon, the software on this thing totally sucks. I have a giant screen with such ridiculous font spacing, meaning I get less information on my 6-inch screen than I can get on a 5-inch model such as a P6. What kind of sad joke is this?
Does the new software fix this problem? If not, I have a mint Mate 7 for sale, used only long enough to see Huawei has made no progress with their software.

I'm from the Philippines and I downloaded the B121 firmware from the link above and flashed it on my phone, I extracted and put the dload folder in my external SD card and did a local update via the updater under menu options, nothing was erased after except for root, so I rooted my phone again via CWM.
By the way, I also have the MT7-TL10 32gb/3gb version and did not get any updates from the updater, i was also in B120 SP04 before I flashed the B121.

Why do you want to downgrade? I was having some thought on updating my firmware to that of the Chinese version.
You can flash the firmware manually through adb, you'll need to extract the firmware. There are other threads in here that discusses about that.
My Italian Mt7 TL10 failed b121 update
I tried locL update, from recovery and by Hisuite
All failed, didnt even start

I want to downgrade because the Chinese version has issues. I have owned many HW phones and running a Chinese load is always a PITA. I want a normal international load that does not perpetually harass me with Huawei store stuff, that does not provide its own broken Calendar and Mail app, and that lets me manage my SIM cards correctly since I need dual SIM support to work in a specific way.
Unfortunately, I read the instructions for installing an international load over top of a Chinese load. I don't want to root my device, have never rooted a device, don't know how, don't want to know how, etc. It seems I am stuck. Even if I changed my mind, the instructions are not newbie level, so I very much doubt I could follow instructions that are not step-by-step "press this", "type that", unless I devote a lot of research. I could buy a new phone for cheaper than the time I would invest in this.

I bought a russian version of the phone and after many times of ROM's flashing I ended up with chinise B122. Now I also want to migrate to European version and do not know how. It's not a problem for me to get a root and I also can try to dig dipper to figure out how to make the downgrade. Can you be so kind and provide me with a link for instructions you read, please, so I can try it myself. Thank you.

Mission Accomplished: Flashing European ROM on the Chinese Mate 9 w/ Locked Bootloade

I've been working at this non-stop for the past week, and I've finally found a way. I am not able to flash a European ROM on the Chinese Mate 9.
I came very close to bricking my device, so I'm currently making sure of the method. Here is what it looks like:
http://imgur.com/a/1ONOF
(I am long-pressing the home button to show it's fully google-ized, in both pictures, but I took my hand out of the picture for paranoia purposes)
So, how is it done? Through eRecovery. I will release the full method once I have tested it enough for public consumption, because I don't want people bricking their devices.
How does it work? It's... interesting.
The version showing up on the phone is the last Chinese firmware which was installed. It doesn't update to show what version it is. In the imgur picture, for instance, it says B109SP01, but it's actually B115 running on it. The phone still thinks it's a Chinese phone, so if you try to get an OTA, you'll probably be getting a Chinese OTA which will not work correctly. So in that sense, it's a bastardized version, and OTAs/updates will not work normally -- You'll have to flash them through a different method.
The positive side is, Google works. Completely. It comes installed out of the gate with account sync, and so on. Other than being Google-fied, some other differences include the permissions menu, the keyboard (SwiftKey is default), and a few other things here and there. The default theme looks strange, and I think it has to do with the cust partition not matching the actual model. This is something I'm currently looking into before release. I'm also looking into using version B122 (or newer if it becomes available) instead of 115.
I'm sure many of you want to get your hands on the European firmware and the method to install it. If you're interested in testing despite one-day-old pre-beta status, shoot me a PM, and I'll try to get you hooked up. In the future, because this method will require a lot of data transfer, I'm considering charging some money to people who download it, and setting up a proper server.
Anyway, for now, know that it's possible, and if you want to do it right away, get in touch with me and I'll try to help!
Update: I have now verified that it's possible to go back to the Chinese ROM. I should have something for those who contacted me wanting to test tomorrow. Since this is a LOT of work, priority will be given to those willing to make a donation.
Although I don't have a Chinese M9 I appreciate your efforts as this opens up the way to flashing other stock and maybe even custom ROM's. Well done!

Unfortunately, I think that custom ROMs will not work with this method, because they're not signed by Huawei.
Wow, That's great news.
I really appreciate your efforts.
I think that you can get a little bit of money in return for your efforts.
I would like to participate in this plan.
Please notify me when the procedure is completed.
Thanks again!
So, here's where we are at right now:
We can flash the system partition of a European firmware, no problem. There's seemingly no issue there.
Where we get the issue is when we look at the cust partition. Because we can't change the actual region of the phone from all/cn to hw/eu, for example, the cust partition has issues. What I mean by issues is, you don't get any of the default themes, various software might be missing features, and so on. Your phone's model number also appears to change from MHA-AL00 to M300-AL00 if you flash the non-Chinese cust partition. When this happens, things go crazy, and you cannot see a proper version number, build number, or model number.
I am looking into making a 'bastardized' version of something to flash, using a Chinese cust partition with an international system rom. Theoretically, this could fix the issues to an extent. It will, however, probably give you a warning upon boot-up that the system has been tampered with, and so on. I will have more information later tonight, Japan time, when I get a chance to work on it some more.
The programs which go missing on a flash of the European firmware are the following:
AutoInStallAPKFromMcc HPLegacyPlugin HwPhoneService PlayGames
Books HwCloudDrive_Local LatinImeGoogle PlusOne
ChromeHomePage HwID Newsstand PredefinedEapSim
GameBoxGlobal HwOUC OMACP talkback
Appmanager HwBetaClub Instagram_Stub Todoist
Booking HwHealthPlatform_OVE Installer Todoist_ntp
DisableTodoistReceiver HwLogUploadService NewsRepublic Twitter
Facebook_Stub HwOUCBeta ProjectMenuAct WPS
Along with all the included themes, and the auto-installer which mounts via USB when you plug the phone in.
Obviously, some of these files are more important than others. All of the things really vital to being able to use the phone can likely be loaded via a Chinese cust partition, but the versions are probably different from the european versions.
Update:
I've obtained a server and am currently setting things up to bring this to the public. The first stage will be a private test. I'm still willing to take some testers who are willing to put their phones in the line of fire! I don't think the private test will launch today, because a new International B126 ROM just came out, so I'm going to base my work off of that for now.
After all the kinks are worked out, I will develop some kind of system for the general public to use. Eventually, this system will be one where you configure your DNS to my server, log into a website, choose what firmware you want to flash, then use eRecovery and that firmware will flash to your phone. I will have to customize all of the international firmware to work perfectly on Chinese devices, and I've yet to do that, but will be working on it. If there's a need, I can expand this system to other Huawei phones. It's exciting times for Mate 9 owners.
Hi duraraa
I have just received my 128g mate 9 in France. I will be happy tomake a donation and participate to the test. Please let me know.

Sure, thank you for your interest. In the meantime, if you are currently on a version like B115 or higher, please downgrade to B106 / B109SP01 so you are familiar with the process.
Update: Now that we can install Google framework on the Chinese latest firmware, I have decided to cancel this project for now. I may keep a server alive to upload to unsupported/beta firmwares, but trying to get the European firmware working well on the Chinese Mate 9 is no longer a priority.

Just search for GMS in the HiApp store. Huawei released a google framework installer.
But the app twin functionality in Chinese handset only allows QQ and wechat. Please continue with finding out how we can install European Rom on Chinese handset so we can have twin app functionality for whatsapp.

Mate 9 from Taiwan
Hi everyone, keeping an eye on the market I found a very tempting offer on the 64GB version - HUAWEI Mate 9 64GB 4G Dual Sim SIM FREE/ UNLOCKED .
Now, my knowledge of ROM flashing is "level: what is a ROM?", but I am reading lots on the subject , but a couple of months ago I bought a P9 for my wife, chinese Al00 version, no problems to install Google Play but still many things are in chinese, the language correction for english or other EU languages sucks. That is why I decided not to go for Chinese versions unless there were exaustive guides on how to flash the mobile to an international or better european ROM.
Said all that, I wonder if anyone has found an easy way to solve the above mentioned issues - I assume everyone with a chinese version will have similar problems - and if you solved them otherwise.
Thanks for any information you might provide, and sorry if I missed key info to have this question properly addressed, but I will be happy to add it if asked.
Cheers,
Daniele

FunkyHuawei: Mate 9 Pro/Porsche support added!

Please see the original FunkyHuawei thread for information:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-9/how-to/introducing-funkyhuawei-flash-official-t3515875
If you have a Mate 9 Pro/Porsche, you can now use FunkyHuawei to recover firmware in eRecovery. Initially, we support the Chinese edition (LON-AL00), the Middle East/North Africa edition (LON-L29C185) and the Worldwide Porsche (LON-L29C721).
Support for other variants will be added as it becomes possible to do so. (If anyone has a device they can donate to me for testing, it will help! PM me.)
Please keep discussion of Mate 9 Pro/Porsche usage of FunkyHuawei in this thread.
Make sure you only flash firmware compatible with your device! LON is Mate 9 Pro/Porsche. MHA is for the regular Mate 9.

I don't have a mate 9 pro so.i can't be sure. If you would like to be a tester I can probably get it working but you will most likely have the caveat of missing a few features like themes updates exchange sync and other things that go missing when the non matching regions firmware is installed.
If you are able to unlock the bootloader and install TWRP we can likely do better though.

I see. So, i'll be correct when i assume that cross switching of rom will cause some functions to not work such as themes, sync, and updates. In this case, i feel, its always better to unlock the bootloader and install TWRP, that way i can have a fully functioning phone. Actually, the only nuisance i have at the moment is with the Mandarin characters used in HiVoice app, Magazine unlock screen, and the launcher. So my next question is, is it possible for you to pull those apps from a different region's firmware that you provide, then have them replaced onto my current phone? This should remove the need for me to cross switch and/or unlock the bootloader.
If the above mentioned is not possible, Could you kindly provide me a link on how to unlock Huawei bootloader? I'm a samsung user, so this is my first experience with Huawei, so at the moment i am very clueless.

There actually is no HiVoice assistant except in Chinese in the Chinese firmware. The English version only lets you make a call.
Regardless these are system apps and part of the firmware so it's not possible to cross install from a different version. Unlocking the bootloader and using TWRP is your best bet. For a Chinese phone please look at the getting a bootloader unlock code for the details but you'll need to stay logged in to hicloud for 2 weeks and then get in touch with Huawei support, in Chinese language

Hi all,

thanks for your work! i may wouldn't need it, but great job
Thanks to a lot of persistence from @Oweida who wanted to rebrand regardless of risk, I now have a preliminary solution to rebrand the Mate 9 Pro. We can rebrand any Mate 9 Pro to any version, but I recommend the LON-L29C636 version, which has the most firmware availability right now.
If you have a bricked Mate 9 Pro, or a Mate 9 Pro with an unlocked bootloader which you want to rebrand, please get in touch. You will need some kind of USB storage you can plug in with an mhl adapter, and knowledge of how to do things like set your DNS, and how to flash things in TWRP, etc. Right now, I am helping people rebrand to C636 spcseas version, which I can support the best in FunkyHuawei so far, but the next step will be rebranding to Porsche.
I know there were a few people in this thread with bricked Mate 9 Pro that they couldn't recover. Please get in touch with me if you want to attempt recovery/rebranding. Send me a PM, and let me know your user name on FunkyHuawei so I can set things up for you.
I might also mention that we can now rebrand the Mate 9 to any region we want, including USA, Japan, India, and even rebrand a Mate 9 to Mate 9 Pro (I have no idea why you'd want to, though.). The only problem is, there is no firmware available for most of these regions yet, so it's not something useful, just possible, at this point.

Hi,
to both of you @Itsmefreddo and @Menrix_AUT
You have two options.
Method 1
1) Since you said you bought it from china I think you might have Hiapp on your tablet.
Then you can just type playstore in search and install it.
2) I hope you have Huawei ID to login
if you don't have Huawei ID then you can register for free from this link
3) once you register. you can download play store from HiApp and install. You are set.
This is more safer method as you are downloading play store from a reliable source. Screenshots attached.
Method 2
1) open your browser and type www.aptoide.com
2) install the app and there are plenty of stores from where you can download and install apps. ( my store samavb.store.aptoide.com )
3) you can just type in google playstore in search and you can get it this way too.
I would personally recommend method 1 as it coming straight from Huawei and you will not have any compatibility issues.
and for firmware
1) After you install playstore, install an app called "firmware finder" - this is actually used for Huawei phones but I just checked and you can get firmwares for Huawei Mediapad M3 and tablets as well. This is a famous app suggested by other members of XDA so it is safe. (screenshot attached)
2) You just have to open the app after installing and it will automatically identify your model. If your tablet is LTE model then it will identify the firmwares corresponding to it. (screenshot attached)
3) Download the firmware
4) unpack
5) move to dload
6) Switch off the tablet then press volume up and down and power all together and then wait for the tablet to vibrate.
7) After that it will start installing.
But I would sincerely urge you not to do this now and please wait for Android Nougat. Once you get Nougat you will love this tablet even more. Don't do this unless you have problems with your current firmware.
Please remember, that firmware updates always come with the risk. I have enclosed screenshots for better understanding.
Hope this helps
Cheers!
?
thank you very much. for now this worked so well... and I will wait for Nougat
No neeed to do so
I bought my M3 from LightIntheBox.com, and they send it directly from China so they Sent me the Chinese Model with No Google Play Store Either.
I just installed the Google Play Store APK and now I have an official working Google Play Store.
http://www.androidapksfree.com/apk/google-play-store-apk-latest-version-download/
-
http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/google-play-store/
You can Download it Here.
I have also installed the 2017 firmware in Mediapad m3 with the Firmware Finder App, I did a full firmware rather than OTA and it Works perfect. But the Firmware it is still the Chinese version so you have to install the Google Play Store APK either way. But I have now the latest 2017 firmware installed in my M3
China version
Hi, I bought mine on a recent trip to China, easy enough to get play store installed and change the language over with the exception of the hiboard, this insists on keeping me in China and there is no way to change the region so all the news etc is all in Mandarin. If i update the firmware to the EU version for BTV-W09 will it update it or brick it?
China Version
Hey Lads,
Just got the M3 from China as well and I was wondering if I could flash a global rom in any way so that everything is in english and I can get all google services! Btw is Nougat out already? I am very new to all of this and if you could give a step by step guide i would sincerely appreciate it.
Thanks in advance!!!

Hello
There is no international firmware for the Z17.
The vendors are putting custom ROMS with multilanguage with or without google services but they have a great inconvenience, you will not be able to receive updates by OTA.
Where to download the official Chinese firmware for the Nubia Z17?
How can it be installed? From SD, OTG ... through your recovery mode?

The official Chinese firmware can be downloaded here : http://ui.nubia.cn/rom/detail/42
For the installation, there is an upgrade guide in PDF format but you need a Nubia account to access it (and my Chinese knowledge is much worse than my English one)...
How can you tell that you've got a custom rom on it from the vendor?

Taken a look at the PDF file; basic steps 1) Backup information on phone 2)copy firmware zip file into the root directory of internal storage 3)update firmware 4)if there are problems, factory reset after update
Only step (3) looks a little different from other phones; basically you should go Settings - Privacy & Security - Select "Slide to unlock" to reset screen unlock to simple slide to unlock and then Settings - Firmware Update - Local Update - Select the zip file for the firmware you want to update to
Hope this helps.

Basically we should put the official firmware on for ota updates and the possibility that they may allow Google apps?
In my Rom there is nothing related to Firmware and/or Update.

In your firmware there are Google services? If yes, make backup pls your firmware
Ok, but how do I do it?
Booting into recovery also does not Show anything related to upgrade. Only one is called boot into edload.
And it says System is root - 1 and Boot is root - 1.
Cheers

Well i checked. And i think it's impossible. Where did you buy phone? Or for which country
I bought it from cect-shop.com.
They told me that I have to wait for an international Rom from nubia, which would be APPLIED via a PC.
I do have Google Services on it. Some things are buggy.
Cheers

Hey Thomas, i ordered my Phone from the cect-shop, too and it will arrive on July 11th.
Which version is your Z17? 6/64 or 6/128 ?
It is the 6/64 Version. The 8/128 was not available.
It is good Phone but needs time to get used to coming from Stock Android.
Cheers

I'll write to them, they can tell me where they took it. Can you also write on your own?

It can only be downloaded if you have the extraction password, that it what Baidu is asking for.
You can find it also here (GeekBu...). It is the release 2.44. I didn't have a look "inside".
