Clarity/resolution - Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Real Life Review

The Xiaomi Mi Note 10 has a crazy crisp display. Just kidding, this is automated text so who knows if this screen is any good. So, you be the judge! A higher rating indicates that it's extremely sharp and clear, and that you cannot see pixels with your naked eye.

Hi everybody
Do you have the same issue like me: sometimes the rendering or images processing is too bad on my mi note 10...i mean it's like a little blur effect and poor quality
Not on images taken by the camera but images and pictures like wallpapers downloaded, images on internet sites, twitter, Facebook etc...
IS it a known issue or just my device

point: are you sure you're not running something like data saving in phone or browser? because to me seems compression to save datas as you said it's all relegated to thing downloadeds or anyway from a browser ( twitter, download images etc )
if not, try to hard reset before but if that the same thing you seen after the reset get it back and replaced.

DISPLAY: Clarity/Resolution

The Note5 has a 1440x2560 display with a pixel density of 515ppi. If you don't know what a pixel is, you should probably look it up somewhere. Clarity is insane. I can't see pixels even if I enable my superman goggles. Great screen, tack-sharp.

Videos appear quite grainy, even if they are 720p or 1080p. In some cases I can see dancing grains. Sometimes the colours burst/blow up for pictures/photos taken from different device or websites.
I had similar issues with Galaxy Tab-S, which was even worse in video and picture quality. My older Note-3 on the other hand is giving crystal clear image.
Great job with dat display Samsung.

Video appears grainy? Could it be the source? I'll give you an example. If you watch the film Green Zone, the source of the blu ray transfer from film is heavy amount of grain. NOT the phone's fault. I know this is NOT a HDTV forum, or maybe we should start one for video/audiophiles. Just because it's grainy, doesn't mean it's the phones fault. I've seen films like Sucker Punch, where the film is low grain on the film source, before the transfer to blu ray. But it's my cents about it. Either way, it looks fantastic on this phone.

YEs they did a fantastic job on this display. The clarity and resolution is very good. I'm not using displaymate or THX app or programs to do this testing. Just watching youtube vids, high quality Blu ray films, twitch, Netflix and alike. The screen on the note 3 was good. On the note 5, its beautiful to watch

Why Honor makes their icons and fonts so huge is beyond me. It's like looking at a VGA screen.
I agree that the fonts are really huuuge but everything else is great.
Screen is fine. You can adjust the font size and display zoom as required. Also making sure smart resolution is off, and 1080p is selected helps for crispyness. Replacing the prefitted plastic screen protector with a glass one helps.
I watch movies on Netflix and Amazon Prime with no issues. I also edited my last YouTube video on the View 20 again with no issues as screen was excellent to see everything.
My only wish is they had some control for icon size on the EMUI launcher. Some of the themes do adjust the fonts and icon/folder size, just wish there was a built in option.

Hey, just a quick question: can you confirm, that Netflix and Prime Video work in HD quality on this phone? I know Netflix supports HD on Kirin 980 devices, but never had chance to try it.

Hey, did you do anything to get it working? I bought my V20 today and Netflix doesn't play in HD. There's no "HD" badge next to the title like on my LG G6.
It's stock View 20, official UK distribution, I've got Nova launcher but when I opened Netflix in default launcher it didn't make any difference...
Nothing special. I also have UK stock from Carphonewarehouse. I did have a firmware update when I first used phone. I'm on firmware 9.0.1.125
In Netflix app, I did make sure settings correct.

I can't get it... I even turned off dynamic resolution change and it still doesn't work ;/ Well, maybe it will fix itself with time.
The clarity is fine. Nothing that will blow your mind. Would be nice to see honor go back to the UHD displays like they had with the Honor 8 Pro.

Low light

At the club, at the bar, or just in your mom's basement, nighttime is when you come out to play. Rate this thread to express how the LG G8's camera performs when no or low light is present. A higher rating indicates that the camera sensor "sees" lots of light in dim conditions, and that the resulting photos have minimal noise. A higher rating also indicates that when the flash fires, the resulting photo is evenly-lit without any bright spots.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
Amazon low light. Comparable to the S10 in my opinion. Utilize RAW for best results if you are familiar with processing photos.
Are you using the manual mode, or night view mode? I only see raw options in manual.
Either way, I totally agree. Night shots can look very nice with just a bit of attention.
From the few low light pics I've taken with my G8s (yes, technically not a G8, but if you are impressed with the samples I posted below then I guess you would be even more impressed with the actual G8 because it has a superior camera), I can say I was pleasantly surprised. One thing to note though, the results are waayyyyyyyy better with the Google Camera port. Like some YouTube reviewer said (can't remember who it was), LG's Night View isn't aggressive enough. It still makes a difference, just not a huge one. So yes for Low light pictures I recommend using the GCam port.

Hmm, it's strange that it crashes. Try uninstalling it and install this one instead. Don't forget to allow all the required permissions https://f.celsoazevedo.com/file/cfiles/gcm1/Gcam_6.1.021_Advanced_V1.7.190716.1800.apk
It should work without changing any of the settings.
However I recommend using these settings : https://mega.nz/#!xHRllIAI!7iKlwhrkHx_T0oxIVcj4HbuH7Z8xRsJ27XBuh9EsJPo these are the ones I use personally. To import them, create a folder named "GCam" on your device. In GCam folder create another one and name it "Configs". Copy the lgg8s.xml file to Configs. Then, open Google Camera application and quickly tap twice on the black area next to the shutter button. Now you can import the lgg8s.xml file.
Let me know if it worked.

It has super amoled display
This same display galaxy flagship has been using
No other company out there have super amoled display
Even one plus offers amoled display
The display is undoubtedly best in this price range
PPI is 401 which is same as other mid range and some other flapship phone like one plus
So until if the phone has quadhd display this is better then any other display out there

A50 doesn't support 4k natively, but you can use any third party camera to record 4k video.
The best app i found was "Open camera ".
Exynos 9610 infact can do 4k @120fps, lets hope Samsung enables 4k rec in their native app in future for Galaxy A50.
Btw, you're in a wrong thread !
Anyone else noticed some unpleasant purple/green artifacts at places where dark meets bright? see attachments
I can totally see that from a normal phone usage distance. Not sure if it's a defect or a "feature".

I have not observed any of the color artifacts you describe on the white-black interface. The picture is absolutely perfect, the Samsung display really did. Try resetting your phone or making a claim.
Anyone else can comment on this thing? Maybe I'm just super sensitive to stuff like this.
Haven't noticed anything similar on my S6, maybe because of the insanely high ppi (577ppi on S6 vs 403ppi on A50)

Try to turn off Adaptive Display because it shifts color temperatures depending on the amount/type of light received by the sensors.

Photo quality

Say "cheese", then rate this thread to express how photos taken with the OnePlus 7T come out. A higher rating indicates that photos offer rich color (without over-saturating), sharp detail (with all subjects in-focus), and appropriate exposure (with even lighting).
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
Quite disappointed to be honest. Think I will send it back. Pictures with the OnePlus app are fuzzy, not sharp at all. Installed gcam, pictures are sharp but in low light color is lost, washed out, almost grayscale filter. Coming from p20 pro. That device also sometimes applies weird sharpening/smoothing, but mostly it's very good. Had high hopes as dxomark rated the OnePlus 7 above the p20 pro. Not!
Images are too punchy and water colored, hopefully it wil get fixed soon in updates

Happened to me with different xml files. Try with another one?
Just got my 7T today and took some pictures tonight with the pro feature in the camera app with nothing but a flimsy 5 dollar tripod lol. I have to say, it's a pretty darn good camera, and that's coming from a Pixel... Don't get me wrong, Pixel Cameras are amazing and the quality on the 7Ts are a bit washed out but It's still up there with the big boys.
Here's some of my pics from tonight. Keep in mind im in NYC and it's extremely hard to impossible to see the night sky like this.
A friend and I were playing around with our cameras the other day. We were in his basement and it was kind of weirdly lit. His new iphone the pictures he would take would be completely white like the room was normally lit. On the oneplus 7t the picture was a lot darker, the shadows were a lot more noticable some to an extreme point. I took another picture with it in night mode and it looked more like the iphones picture but things like fabric looked fuzzier than it should have. He then took a picture with his dslr camera... suprisingly it looked very similar to the picture that I had just taken from the oneplus 7t. When we compared all the pictures the white balance looked better on the oneplus 7t. It looked more like the white balance from the dslr. The iphones picture looked more on the yellow side imo. So take it with a grain of salt in that one situation.

After trying another version (7.0), same version as before did not work at all. Reboot solved the issue. I guess the 7.0 version messed up the camera hal.
Took several photos around a park in good lighting and also when the sun went down and I gotta say I wouldn't be too sad if I had to stick with this as my main camera(I have a note 10+ as well). Ive had all the Oneplus's since the 3t and they have come along ways. Looking forward to more improvements to nightscape and HDR.
Took some photos yesterday. It is not the best camera there, but you can still make some really good photos.
I definitely find photos a bit too saturated... especially that I come from using Pixel device where colours are usually more colder.

Too much yellow in photos
Using the latest 7.X gcam from the thread and I got some surprisingly good results. If a camera can get sharp results in mediocre lighting on a somewhat bouncy dog then I'm happy.
No edits straight out the camera btw
