Best most stable stock alternative? - Xiaomi Mi A1 Questions & Answers

What is the best rom for stock replacement?
That is, I require fully stable rom. Good battery life. No need for gaming performance. But smooth UI navigation is needed.
Only additional thing I require is CA (4G+) support.
Thanks in advance.

Lineage os 16 , evo x 2.2

best stable is Lineage os 16 or if you want other go for AOSPExtended or PixelExperience

With root yes. But it is complicated, specially updating the OS. As I have to root and go through the process. Non root does not work on the versions I have tried. I also need a battery boost. A custom kernel may help with that. That is why I asked, if someone can mention a single ROM solution for both this problems.

You dont need root, the non-root method is working again. It stopped working after March 2019 update but after August 2019 update it is working again. I have disabled 4G+ without root on Stock Pie.

For me, it increased only 2-3Mbps. I disabled it because I did not see much speed improvements in my Area. But I got 40-50Mbps speed in Locations where less people use Jio, and my friend was getting 20-25Mbps with 4G on his Asus device. Yeah, it increases speed depending on Location. And yes, you can enable and disable (it's the same method)

I have tried repeatedly on my new Galaxy Nexus to make it work, but I can never successfully encrypt the device. It fails half way and then everything is lost... so be careful if/when you decide to encrypt. Be aware if it does not work everything will be wiped; backup everything. Sorry I don't have more useful info. If I get it working I will re-post with my comments about speed etc.
The encryption is the only thing that will allow us to use an android device at work...quite sad to see it's still in such infant state...
@nameite The full disk encryption offered in the newer Moto updates seems to work well. I encrypted the NAND only on a d2g and everything worked smoothly.

[Q] CM 11 - Performance tab question/help

Hello xda.
I installed Cyanogenmod on my Samsung Galaxy Note 3 today with no problems at all, however I've found something that seems a bit weird. (I know there is supposed to be bugs in nightlies, of course, but I thought i'd ask anyway.)
In the performance settings of the tab, it keeps the minimum CPU frequency to 1190mhz. If I put it to 300mhz, it will work, but as soon as I exit out of the performance tab, it goes back to 1190mhz. I figured that my phone was quite hot when I didn't use it, and that's how I found out.
Have anyone seen this on the latest CM11 nightly for the Note 3? I hope somebody out there know how I can fix it.
Many thanks.

Thanks a lot for your reply.
I've heard a little about kernels. The thing is, that this is the first time I've ever put a custom rom on an android device, so I'm not really 100% familiar with all this yet, however if the custom kernel won't be able to brick my phone, I sure would give that a try.
Should I go with the "stable" version or the beta version of the kernel?

I'm taking the beta version then!
- So... I just tried to flash it with Odin, but as it is a .zip file and not .tar, I can't do that.
I do have TWRP on my device, so I can use that, I am not very sure on how to do that though?
I'm sorry for the noobish questions. First time I installed a custom rom

[Q] Marshmallow stock AOSP (or near-AOSP) ROM choice

Hi guys
I'm searching for an Android 6 ROM for Mako that:
Is as stock as possible
Is as bug-free as possible
Works with Xposed (I'm reading around that at this point not all of the MM ROMs do?)
Which one do you guys recommend? I'm confused, there seem to be a lot of variants out there, each one with little differences and nuances... can anyone recommend the best choice(s) for the above requirements?

Chroma is generally considered to be a close to stock stable Rom. Don't know about xposed tho, since the dev doesn't want discussion about it in his thread.

what you look for is fake nexus rom, problem you cant root it, so no xposed.
you can try others though they all have options built-in and have root, so no idea why you will use xposed on those.

I've used a heavily customized ROM for a long time (Euphoria) but now I wanted to try the stock + xposed + GravityBox combo, see if I liked it better. So I was searching for a near-stock (so it doesn't interfere with GB)

JuSt rooted my phone (PB1 locked bootlader) what is the best ROM available to me?

I know it is a subjective question but what would you recommend? I'm hoping phoenix ROM becomes available to me. My main reason for rooting was to delete all of the Verizon and Samsung bloatware, but now I am interested in custom roms. Thanks a lot!
I'm on Phoenix ROM right now and it's really great, battery life is awful on Phoenix though so I'm considering going back to VanirAOSP

If you do not mind being on a 5.0 rom, OptimalROM has amazing battery life and is extremely stable. Viper4Android works on it 9/10 times where other ROMs have a success rate of around 6/10 (I have noticed significant abnormal status on other ROMs in comparison). If you are into Xposed, also works just fine. All S5 features work- including call recording, fingerprint, etc. I have yet to find a bug other than the S Health heart-rate bug (which was present in the stock ROM at the time).

One of them is "Enable AT Port" in case if QPST does not see the phone in DM.

Make a TWRP backup of your ROM, install 21s stock rom and after first setup boot, enter TWRP and restore your ROM.
Radio files remain when you restore your backup.
