Low quality unless you install another app, the default app even doesn't use the full resolution to take a picture.

Stock App are for Video due to Ozo Audio Feature
While i use gcam for still photography, it's so much better than stock app. The quality you get from stock app is nowhere near what u get from gcam
More Cat Photo Taken by Gcam
I have been using Nokia 7 plus for 9 days. Camera quality is decent but its live bokeh effect picture (portrait mode picture) is awesome.
Just small refesh on the topic :
Stock cam i so good so practicly I dont need to use gcam except at night amd even that 7 plus can make a good picture.
Just look at details with I took with our phone, picture is on full resolution link on Flickr :

IMO the noise reduction filter is to strong on this phone especially in lower light which can end up eliminating a lot of fine details, but there is a way to adjust it if you dont mind using another camera app, download Open Camera from google play and after launching app select the gear icon in upper right (Settings) then find Camera API and change it to "Camera2 API" this will unlock extra settings, now you can goto Processing Settings and you'll see Noise reduction ,you can completely disable NR here or choose Fast, High Quality or Minimal, personally I like Minimal.
Hopefully this helps someone :good:
Thanks for the tip. Have you compared Open Camera results with the GCam apk that's been shared on this forum?

I did shortly after posting previous comment and would have to say Gcam might be the superior app lol, there's no noise reduction settings but it still does a pretty amazing job at overall picture quality with HDR+ or HDR+ Enhanced enabled, especially in lower light, Not sure if i'm using the 'best' gcam version the one im using is GCam_6.2.030_N7P_test1.3a but if I discover something better I'll update.
I found out the camera glass is not very durable, even with a case, I'm on my third lense, and now the actual camera lense is scratched.

I'm not super picky, but things look fine to me; if you look at them on a computer at full size they're a little noisy but since I'm only really interested in quick snapshots it's good for me. I'd attach examples, but I guess there's a minimum post count for that or something.
RAW Support: Camera2 API Probe reports RAW is not supported. (I3223 model)
Anyone having issues with the camera app crashing after taking first pic? bloody annoying.
I think it's crashed once for me, maybe, but nothing repeated or predictable.
It's acceptable 21:9 ?

There was an update that came out this week, 53.0.A.4.114. Not sure if it fixed the issue yet or not but will test it out for a few day to find out. If gtg than this will be a near perfect device for my needs.

Good with my Meizu 16s I cover the sensor of the rear camera above and I see that it does not affect at all, I only see that the 48mpx works, does anyone know why? Thank you

Hi. Actually, I am in the same boat. Can't see the telephoto lens in use. BTW, I'm om chinese rom v8.20.3.26 beta, which is the latest I guess. Also, GCam 6.1.021-MI8-V2e can't use/see it neither. Any help on how to make it work would be greatly appreciated.
For everyone who is in doubt: the secondary camera is there, it's not fake, and it works. I don't know why Meizu intentionally blocks access to it, moreover, no app was able to detect it at hardware level neither. Until now! So if you want to use the secondary camera, install this Gcam mod, and in the settings, add/enable the telephoto lens(secondary cam). Works like a charm!! The exact version that is working for me is: GCam 7.3.018 by Urnyx05 Version 2.1, edited by Wichaya V2.7. It is reportedly works on the 16xs as well.
Edit: Since I'm using rarely my phone to take pictures, I did not realized that before. In PRO mode, in the official camera app, there IS, the possibility, to change/use the secondary camera. Still, what I said above, holds true. Also, the latest update from the same modder (Wichaya) works just as well. Good luck!

I can definitely answer this one. The moto camera app is very very bad. At least for the front camera, it destroys photos with noise and blur. It is in really bad shape and I got a significantly better results using Gcam. I felt the need to inform you guys about this. Mind the front camera, it's worse than g7 plus, it's worth saying it doesn't record in 4k. I'm very upset by this. And it seems it's hardware
Try the GCam! The pics are much much better than with the stock camera app
