Where is global darkmode in stock MiUi 11? - Redmi K20 / Xiaomi Mi 9T Questions & Answers

So I just got the stock MiUi 11 update and actually the only feature that was getting me hyped was the global darkmode.
I saw in reviews of the nightly builds that people had an advanced option in the display setting where it said global darkmode.
I'm on the stable version and unfortunately the feature ain't there. Or do I have to activate some other setting first?
Also lift to selfie doesn't work or it's bugged even with the option enabled.

That's because it is based on Android 9 and not Android 10. That feature will come when we receive Android 10.

I've used Xiaomi.eu Miui 11 Stable with Android 9 and now I'm using Xiaomi.eu 9.10.17, which comes with Android 10 and I can confirm it's only available on Android 10.
But to be honest that feature is still super buggy, don't get your hopes up, there are some apps that work OK, but others become straight garbage.

You have to install TWRP first Xiaomi.eu 9.8.15, once the system starts, you enter the TWRP again and flash 9.10.17. Each installation with their respective Wipes.
At least when I flash this ROM, it always changes me to the Chinese TWRP, so it's the one I use, which works pretty well.

Its worse than xiaomi.eu rom as it use global rom as base while xiaomi.eu use czech miui base or china base ! It is a tiny developer group while eu is far greater dev group ! Eu has more feature and mi-globe adds more feature to eu rom!while epic has minor changes than to stock

Mighty high IRate words.
Atleast we can respect whatever someone does. If you do not like it, then fine, do not use it.
Tiny or big, at least they are trying to do something and learning too.
What might you do mate? If you wanna criticise then look at MiUi Global Dev, and criticise them, it would be helpful. MiUi in the name of development gives crappier updates, and that too everytime they increase the OTA size.
How stupid of MiUi

Right, this ROM can be named Minimal MiUi, as it uses base MiUi ROM, along with few Globe Mi functionalities.

Are you using xiaomi.eu rom.
Clean install from cm13 latest using the recovery provided in the official cm13 thread.
I didn't get any error on flashing log & booting was successful too. But no matter what I cant login into mi account or can skip login.

Yes, im using xiaomi.eu rom 6.12.1
Try my method if you came from cm13/any aosp/cm based rom:
1. Clean install miui rom using mi flash, so you need fastboot rom. Download here http://en.miui.com/a-234.html
China rom recommended.
2. Then after comple flashing, boot phone to bootloader , then unlock bootloader.
3. Reboot phone, let it booting. It takes 15 - 20 minutes. Then your device will show MIUI wizard, just complete it. After that, do some customization into your device.
4. Reboot to bootloader from adb: "adb reboot bootloader"
Install twrp from bootloader, i'm using dadi11 twrp, link on my signature. Then boot to twrp, do not boot to system or your device will bootloop, because you're still using official miui rom.
5. Usually twrp can't decrypt data on latest rom dev MIUI 8, just press cancel if you facing it. Do factory reset from twrp to get rid from it, then select "reboot > recovery", do full wipe (cache , dalvik/art cache, system. data), then "reboot > recovery" again
6. Install any custom miui rom like xiaomi.eu, epic, miuipro, etc. Wipe cache & dalvik/art cache
7. Reboot system.
8. Done.
No error or any pop up error for me.

The thing is that the couldnt check security error is due to locale settings.
Use the required locale and also login through Mobile number in Xiaomi EU.

Need help picking what android rom to get

Yeah got a question / need for help with a P8 lite.
I have gotten this phone as a extra to my mom, but I have used it abit and im getting more and more mad on the Huawei bloat.
I have a Oneplus One with Cyanogen 13.1.2 normally and it much more easy for my mom to navigate then the Huawei.
She also liked my old LG Nexus 4 with Android 4.1.2, so I'm looking for a rom that is as clean as Cyanogen/official android (non vender versions).
I have looked at most of the roms posted but all seam to either have broken data/wifi or non functioning camera, so I need some guidance to the most working one.
I have no preference to what version of android its based on just that it is debloated and works.
The P8 lite dual sim is version ALE-L21C42B585 with Android 6 (Marshmallow) and EMUI 4.0.
I'm sorry for needing the help but I'm not sure what to go for.
PS. It would be lovely for the rom to be compatible with the flip controls mod (getting the "back" button on the right side).
Hi!
I've seen your issue, and I wanted nearby same things too, but you have only two possibilities:
1. Most compatible and working one = emui crossover
2. Most clean (newer Android version) but you've to flash gapps and CPU fix, download footej camera to record but you can't use 2nd Sim = Lineage OS
It's a big problem, in my opinion try both and see what's the best. Personally, in your case I think it's best the first:highfive:
Let me know

I think you should either flash AOSPA or slim rom. Both these rom are simple and light. The newest version don't require you to flash cpu fix or install footej camera since it is already included in rom.

So, if i understand, you want a simple phone for your mom, right?
In my opinion if i was you i do this:
Install B608 [ Need the default recovery] then my Basic version [ Need bootloader unlocked and TWRP]: https://forum.xda-developers.com/p8lite/general/rom-c432b604-ds-p8-lite-emui-basic-t3652417
Then i install Nova Launcher with TWRP like this, download the zip from bellow and copy to microSD, boot in TWRP, mount system, go to advance menu, file manager, system, app, HwLauncher6, open it, select file, rename HwLauncher6.apk to HwLauncher6.apk.bak [ to stay like a backup], go to main menu, install, select external sd, find Nova_Launcher.zip and install it!, go to wipe and wipe ONLY art and cache. Reboot.
It will boot in Nova Launcher, it have a simple UI to work.
Is only a opinion!
.
Okay will be looking on the options you have suggested. May take some time but will report back.

Because you need to deactivate Huawei launcher and you need it in system if something goes wrong in data.
Huawei launcher all gets priority over other launcher.
I say nova launcher but Google launcher is good to.
Or i can try to find a Alcatel launcher that i rebuild to work on Huawei.
This 3 are similar.

You haven't kept up. LineageOS is abandoned because Xe bricked his phone. His work ends here for this phone probably. RROS and AOSPA are 2 fully functioning Nougat ROMs right now. If all goes well by September there may even be no workarounds needed. OP choose one of the 2 if you want Nougat

Same thing happened to me with my converted A2. I got bootloop the first time, I installed havoc to have a working phone during the night. The day after I found out I had camera issue and vibration issue so I tried to install China Dev again and this time worked, but TWRP was lost. So I think issue is due to the switch from rom based on android 8 to Pie and viceversa. In order to solve everything I had the idea to Install twrp using Fastboot (formatting the phone cause twrp asks for a password in order to decypt phone) and installing a China stable based on Android 8.1. At this point i Had to install twrp again and now I'm on xiaomi.eu rom with workin cam and etc. sorry for my english, if You want help during the procecc ask me

Be cautious if you flash Mk90.1 2019318, an user got bootloop.
I flashed the latest Mokee (19/03) with Micro Gapps for Android 9.0 and it seems to work fine.
The only problem I have is that the power button launches the camera and there's no way to disable this annoying feature.

That solved it! thank you so much! It was driving me crazy all day.
Have you encountered any other issues with the ROM? I'm seeing random shutdowns/black screen every now and then.
Guess it's still unstable.

After every manual reboot it shuts itself off once but after force power on it stays on, if you use pin/password then do this..
after reboot give 1 second pause between entering each digit and let it settle for a minut.
Yes its still in beta but its the best thing till date Z11 got.
Even Nubia coudnt/woudnt offer 2 major update but our devs give it a new lease of life.

Unfortunately, it still randomly shuts down or resets.
I'm appreciative of the fact that someone put time and effort to develop this ROM, but it's just too buggy at the moment to serve as a real alternative.
Users at the 4PDA forum (where this ROM originates from) report similar issues.
In the meantime, I'm going back to 3.06.

Did you flash mentioned twrp first?
If yes then re-download the rom file and try again, it should work.

how is the battery performance, compared to the official ROM?

Yes it's safe but i dont recommend you to flash it, it has a lot of lags and bugs. Wait for some more to get more stable builds.

Have you tried It? I want to test MIUI 12 but not really sure about the Daily usage of It, It can be used for Daily Driver (until Xiaomi.eu build)? I'll install GS and MoreLocale obv.
I flashed the rom on my Redmi Note 7s from the link mentioned above via orange fox recovery (it showed corrupt zip file in twrp). It booted up but its very laggy. System app keeps stopping. Situation worsens with full screen gestures, wifi connected and more. Not good as a daily driver. Wait until they work on it a bit more.

I experienced a lot of lag, for example in the system UI, opening the notifications panel or Quick settings was very slow, and may result in a frozen screen, which became usable after some time.
I did a full wipe, data system, internal storage so it doesn't come from that.
