What 256GB Micro SD Card to buy? - Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ Accessories

Where do you guys buy legit 256GB micro SD cards? Lots of fakes on Amazon.ca.

Not all has to come from amazon, you know, go to a well stabilished store

I got mine from Samsung.com

I'm using a Microcenter branded 256GB that I paid $27 for. It's not a cheesy 10MB/S write card either, it actually is close to 100MB/S. Can't beat the price and performance. If you have a (Microcenter) store nearby check 'em out!
https://www.microcenter.com/product/508118/256gb-microsdxc-class-10-flash-memory-card-with-adapter

I have a 400gb sandisk, it's U1 but works good for movies and comics. I bought a few of these on amazon(sold and shipped by). I think were like 50 bucks on sale.

Which app/program have you tried to test the speed? I use Windows 10 desktop AS SSD Benchmark. "close to 100Mb/s" - sounds very impressive.

ATTO disk benchmark. mSD in adapter plugged into slot on my Dell XPS 9370.
I typically max out the storage on my phones so I rarely use the card any more. Back in the days when 16GB phones were commonplace, it was a requirement.
With faster (onboard) storage, UHD60 video, etc. the fastest microSD cards can't compare to UFS 3.0 on current flagships.
I capture at UHD60 at gigs and that uses a LOT of space so 512GB is a good starting point for me. I wish they had a 1TB ceramic Note10+ but it would have been expensive AF and it may have had to be UFS 2.0 so there's that.

I was hoping you could post a screenshot of the speed for that card, I usually buy the so-called well known brands so, the inexpensive and high performing Microcenter card would be a very intriguing proposition.
I have some screenshots here from different micro SD cards I've been using. The test was done through USB 3.0 bus and Lexmark adapter on Windows 10 desktop:
They always use the same sales pitch "transfers up to xxxMB/s" which often doesn't mean much.

SanDisk Extreme 400GB $99

^^^^are your posts still “Sent from the best phone ever - Note5!” @mrpickem?
This is the exact ones i bought for my notes. They have some warehouse deals that , with tax added, will be the same as the asking price of a new one minus the tax..

2GB mini SD on ebay UK

Wondering what people's thoughts are on this:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/High-Speed-2G...593065570QQcategoryZ18871QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
It's not a 'big' brand and the price seems very cheap for a 2GB card.
John
After shipping it's about 20-25 quid cheaper than retail and it claims to be a 150x (22meg a second transfers card).
Only had my Wizard a week and took me a few days to actually find 2gb Mini-SD's in stock with a UK retailer.
I ended up with this:
http://www.mobymemory.com/proddetail.asp?prod=miniSD_2048mb_MOBY_001
However, some of the card readers I have will not read the card via the provided SD adapter - I was warned of this and do have a newish card reader which does, as does the one in my laptop.
Works fine in the Wizard though and tbh speed to me is unimportant considering the speed of the devices processor.
If you get one and have success with it, please drop a note back.
I have seen the Mobymemory one, their price for the 1GB card seems unbeatable pretty much but I'm tempted by this 2GB card as I can get the postage cheaper using a Paypal code as well.
John
I had a Zynet SD card for my XDA2s. It worked beautifully, and continues to work in my digital camera.
I got A 'MyFlash' 2gb 60x mini-sd card off ebay last week. It took like 6 days tops to get here and works great, even in my tempermental in-built SD reader.
How much did you pay for the Myflash one?
Thanks for the feedback on Zynet, tempted to go for this now.
John
Came to about £80 including shipping and insurance
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7589600960&rd=1&sspagename=STRK:MEWN:IT&rd=1
I remember reading somewhere that a higher speed SD card will drain the XDA battery faster.
If you're not looking for the fast cards, some reasonable prices here as well:
http://www.mymemory.co.uk/Mini-SD
The 2G Sandisk card isn't actually in stock with them yet though.
John
1G is more than enough 4 me...-_-#
I was kinda hoping of picking this up...
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000EEZEVC/104-8849050-7307124?_encoding=UTF8&v=glance&n=172282
But I don't know if I can wait until May!
I've decided to go for a 1GB card for now, I can always buy another 1GB card so both my HTC devices can benefit from it.
John
4 gig cards are meant to start shipping this month.
OK - i know they will start at an unrealistic premium - but does anyone know if 4 gig (or more that that which is likely to be out by summer) will work in the wizard?
Seems cheap for a 2Gb memory card of any size. I'd recommend mymemory.co.uk for memory cards, and they have a 2Gb Sandisk MicroSD for £54.99.
Seems cheap to me, but sandisk's one of the best makes for memory cards.
i use the moby memory2gb minisd - 80ish quid delivered next day and works well
I think are more cheap at:
http://cgi.ebay.com/2GB-2G-mini-SD-...74095023QQcategoryZ118260QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
I will buy one!

I have used them often and they offer a good service (based in the chanel islands). However they have been out of stock of the 2 gig cards for a while now.
They have a facility whereby you give them your email and they will contact you when the cards return to stock.
http://www.mymemory.co.uk/item_out_of_stock.php?id=1239
Incidentally, I have had only one memory card fail on me, and it was the sandisk 32 meg that came with the siemens SL45 as standard.
The SL45 seemed years before its time - it seems crazy to think there were phones with memory cards in 2000 and even now a minority have them.

Cheapest place for 2gb minisd plus card reader

Im looking for something like this...
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/TOPRAM-2gb-mi...9QQihZ011QQcategoryZ96991QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
Preferably with the card reader to be able to attach to a key ring like a memory stick.
Thanks!
Seems reasonable, so why dont you buy it ?
yeah..... it is cheap.... (even the price listed is less than the postal charges .... but when the bid closes will be knowing what the final price!....)
For those in the US
I got in on this deal over the holiday weekend with free shipping. Ground shipping will add about $6 to the order. Still not a bad deal for 2Gb. I paid $69.99 plus shipping not that long ago for a Sandisc 2Gb card that I managed to lose in a drunken birthday celebration. This is an 80x replacement that holds its own against the Sandisc card.
http://shop2.outpost.com/product/4858780
http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16820233032 is what I got...I know it is a 1GB, but you can check for the 2GB ones on newegg's website...they also have cheap 9/10 in one readers there.[/url]
I use pricegrabber.com to compare prices across a variety of sites.
Do you really think thats a good price? I was hoping to sneak one for like £20 off ebay but I think I may be dreaming.
Im really after the card ready that will fit onto my key ring but cant find any anywhere :-(
Does anyone know when the new size cards will be out?
Did anyone notice the $46 shipping fee to the U.S., slightly less to U.K.? This could mark a new record for price gouging for shipping on Ebay.
...
Chris - if I was you I would stay clear of cheap mini-sd cards. If you read the posts where the card goes wrong its usually the cheap variety! I use mobymemory 2gb card - £40 but worth it! I can record 320 x 240 video using coolcamera with no slowdown compared to main memory - now that rocks!
Are Sandisk cards okay?

I beleive those were SANDISK, not Samsung. And again, I don't think they are avail yet. Should be before Xmas.

Do a search on ebay, there are 6gb class 4 cards for about $70 (the same as elite class 2). But they are the first 8gb cards I have seen.

the top memory card is always overpriced, considering the nuisance of carrying one of those tiny things and exchanging it out, especially if your running programs off it, its worth it.

I contacted memorybits.co.uk in the UK and they said hopefully by 2nd November it will be in stock. Not a bad price at £55.
And still no answer to this question:
Re: C4 or C6, does the Kaiser even take advantage of the C6 speed? i.e. I know it can read it, but can it read/write that fast to it to see the difference between C2, C4, and C6? I've asked this and no one has answered it.
I mean, why wait or pay extra for a C6 if the TyTN II reader can't even sustain that speed?
IMHO, it doesn't really matter. If you want to xfer a large amount of data onto or off the card, the extra bandwidth will be useful.
Plus, I *always* try and buy the best quality part I can. For example, I own SD card camcorders too, and it is always best to put as fast a card as possible in those.

Jomo, I agree that performance and quality do count.
However, with Sandisk surely they only produce one 6GB micro SD card?? If this is the case, why don't you e-mail them about it and ask for the detailed spec?
I've tried contacting them but they've not replied yet.
Not to sure about the speed, bit I received mines today, and I love it. I see no speed difference in reading and writing on the tilt. Mines is the scandisk.
Anybody seen 8GB Sandisk's in the wild? I.E. at Best Buy or Verizon or anywhere? What class are they?
I *just* got my 6GB class4 from Amazon today... but I'd pay the extra for 8 if I didn't have to wait...

I have the Sandisk 6GB card. it's Class 4. My question is, if they come out with a Class 8 one later, can the TyTN II take advantage of the speed? I.e. What's the Kaiser's max speed? I'm sure the festest cards would still be readable, but not sure if it would perform faster than a Class 4 if the Kaiser is the "bottleneck".
As for 8GB, I don't think they are generally avail yet, esp not in the US. I wouldn't expec tot see those available via US mail order til about mid Nov at least, and in stores like BB and CC? Not til next year I bet. They don't even have 6GB cards yet in places like Best Buy, Circuit City, and Fry's Elex...

I'm looking for a Sandisk 8GB MicroSDHC Class4. Any Idea where?

At the moment I'm using a Kingston 8GB MicroSDHC Class 4 and let me tell you; IT SUCKS.
The speed it horrible comparing to my Sandisk 2GB Class 2.
Therefore I would like to get a Sandisk instead. They are pretty cheap these days online. Amazon is selling a Sandisk 8GB class4 for only $16 + shipping. However I'm from Canada, shipping is a monster. On Ebay, most of them are fake and not even Class 4. So do you guys have any suggestion for me on where to buy a "Real" Sandisk 8GB class 4? (well, no need to be Real, as long as it's fast)
I'm not sure about the sandisk class 4 I would try perhaps Amazon.com on that. But as for Micro SDHC cards go this is by far the best card for the price. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820208453 Just in case you are wondering it is a class 6 and I have this card personally and can verify that it operates at the class 6 specs.

Amazon.com and newegg.com doesn't ship microsd card to Canada.
As stupid as it sounds, newegg.ca doesn't have any 8GB microSD other than from A-Data... and I had really bad experience with that company.
That's strange that they won't ship them to Canada, but anyways I have used A-DATA for many years now and I have never had a bad experience possibly you just happend to get a bad product which unfortunately happens sometimes. I suggest A-DATA to lots of people and trust them myself so it might not hurt to try them again. Just my thoughts (man I feel like an A-DATA spokesperson LOL)

Yes I as previously stated I have that exact card and have been very happy with it. I also have 4GB of their ram in the very computer I am typing this with. I get about 6MBs write and between 9-10MBs read I just wrote a 1GB dummy file to it and about 3.5-4 mins. My Kingston 8Gb Class 4 take about 4min to transfer 1GB as well. I find it slow. When I did a benchmark using PocketMechanics, the write speed is only 2MBs. That's why i'm returning it. Now that you're telling me it take you 3.5-4mins, I think my card is not that bad, then.
When you said 6MBs write, how did you test it?

Rank in sales means nothing if you're looking for quality. 90% or more of the time the top name in sales is NOT the best quality, just the best value. Sandisk is definitely better quality.

Need SD card suggestion

What is the largest, fastest and most budget-minded SD card I can get for this device, preferably off of NewEgg...
I can't remember if the largest "recommended" size is 16gig or 32, but get a class 10. Also, don't go to New Egg, go to Meritline.com, much cheaper on the micro SD cards, and problably even cheaper elsewhere.

So always get class 10 for mobile devices? I'm not looking for a recommended size, I want the maximum size.
Also, NewEgg has class 10's for way cheaper than the site you mentioned.
I could be wrong, but I just thought the class indicated the speed of data transfer, so I've always gone for class 10. And yeah, I never noticed the price gap being so marginal on class 10 cards between New Egg and Merit Line. I've always used Merit Line for any media related purchases. Monoprice for anything cable related (I will slap anyone in the throat I meet face to face who spends $60 on a 6 foot "Monster" HDMI cable at Best Buy), and then NewEgg for everything else.

Gotcha. What brands should I stay away from? What ones should I strongly consider?
Will a 32GB card work on this device?
I used a 16gb, but I cannot remember what the manual said would be supported. However, I thin microSD only goes to 32, I'd wait for someone else to chime in to see if they use a 32gb without issue. I've never paid attention to brand, and it's worked out for me.

Is PNY any good? Kingston and SanDisk are great in my experience.
I know PNY makes good RAM, but have never used their sd cards.

So always get class 10 for mobile devices? I'm not looking for a recommended size, I want the maximum size.

I use the "ADATA 32GB Micro SDHC Flash Card, with Adapter Model AUSDH32GCL10-RA1". It's a Class 10 device and I've had no problems with it and the A500. It currently is $63.99 at Newegg and $72.95 at Meritline (sorry fermunkey!).

How long have you used this card?
I'm using a Duracell 16GB Class 6 and it works wonders. Only cost me $25 from a brick and mortar store too, which isn't too bad. You won't notice a significant difference between class 6 and class 10 on any Android device, so personally I wouldn't bother with the added cost of a class 10 card.

I've been using it since the end of July. I've got multiple backups on it as well as movies, music, etc.
Jeff.
I am using:
WINTEC FileMate 16GB Mobile Professional Class 10 microSDHC Card with SDHC Adapter
available at Newegg only 19.99...get a couple!!
@jlary - +1 on the AData 32gb micro sd card. Bought my A500 in May and same day ordered sd card from the Egg. Has worked flawlessly ever since including all my attempts to brick my A500 lol. Got all my movies and music and pictures on it plus backups and roms.
I'm using a 32 GB in mine. I'm not sure of the brand, but it is Class 10 and it works well. (I keep my movie files on it and play them from there.)
I also have a adata micro SD card I got from newegg stressed to full and it did not fail been working for three to four months

+1 for ADATA. I use a 16GB class 10 and I am pretty pleased with the performance.
