no GTA V on PIE with Steam?? - Shield Android TV Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I was playing GTA V just fine before on my Shield TV running Oreo. Did the most recent update to Pie, and now when I go into GeForce Now and run Steam, GTAV shows a download option instead of launch and it says not supported when running it. What the heck? I can still play it just fine on my old Shield Tablet (Nougat). If this is purely because of the Pie update, I will be downgrading. Anyone else experience this? Thanks.

Nvidia delisted all the GTA games without any explanation given whatsoever.

Worked fine a few days ago.

Extreme Lag in gaming apps

I've installed full Android on my shield TV. I have an issue with extreme lag using a ps4 and shield gamepads usb wired. Its very strange because in the stock Android interface everything works flawless. But when I use GeForce Now i get extreme lag on button presses where i have to hold face buttons for about 2 seconds to get a response. But this only happens when a game is loaded. When im in the GeForce Now Menu my conttoller works and response is fine. Same thing with RetroArch. Ive tried bluetooth with my PS4 controller and I get the same result.
Also, how would i be able to get my Shield gamepad working wirelessly?? I heard something about using with droidmote client server but its not really clear to me.
Can somebody help me figure this out? I switched to Full Android for more freedom and apps but if I cant use my controllers then i will have to revert to rooted stock firmware for my shield.
You're probably going to want to go back to stock firmware then. There is no fix for getting the Nvidia wireless controllers working with Full Android. This is due to the closed source nature of the wireless controller drivers.
But what about other controllers like PS4? I heard PS4 can work wirelessy and Shield controller can work wired

Can the Mojo stream games from PC?

I was going to go and buy a steam link to play my PC games downstairs but saw that the Mad Catz Mojo is only £20 more and comes with a controller.
Doing a quick google search I found some mention of game streaming available on the Mojo:
Can't add links but there is an article on techradar.com & engadget.com saying gamestream will be included in the Mojos firmware updates.
However these both seem quite outdated and I can't see any information stating that it was implemented in the end.
Has anyone got game streaming to work smoothly on the Mojo? Perhaps through limelight / moonlight? I have a gtx 970 so should be good to go.
I use my Shield TV with gamestream in the bedroom with no issues however don't want to spend another £120 if I can get away with £60 for the Mojo.
This works very well with the splashtop software. I use antimicro zu remap the controller buttons. you can even emulate a mouse.
but keep in mind, you have to do everything yourself, the shield is a lot easier to use.
Hi,
moonlight works great with for example remix OS. As far as i know it also works on unrooted Mojo.
With LAN connection 1080p and 60fps works like a charme.
If game streaming is your primary intention, then I would recommend sticking with the NVIDIA Shield. If you buy the MOJO, you can definitely stream games at the same quality as the Shield, but it takes a lot of work to get the MOJO working at full capacity, whereas, the Shield is all ready to go out of the box.
I upgraded the stock firmware shipped with the MOJO to CyanogenMod 12.1. The stock firmware had issues with freezing and really wasn't running at the full potential that the MOJO had to offer. After upgrading it has been a breeze, with the exception of a few small hiccups. But again, this is a lot more work than getting a Shield for the extra dollars more, except that the MOJO can likely do more with regards to Emulation, Movies, Social Media, etc.
I use Moonlight Streaming from a GTX 650 on a Wireless AC network, and it works great with the included controller. I originally tried using Remotr and it lagged like crazy. The support that the controller has with the Gamesmart technology is incredibly impressive. It seems to 'just know' exactly how the controls should be mapped with basic common sense. With that said, if your intention is to stream games from Steam that already have full controller support, then this feature doesn't really bring anything special to the table.

Gamestream not working with Shield TV, but is working fine with Shiled tablet!

Morning all
I'm having real problems getting gamestream working on my Shield TV and I just cannot work out what the problem is.
My setup is a gaming pc with a Geforce GTX 750 Ti, connected via Ethernet cable to my router (Netgear WNDR3700v2 running DD-WRT) My Shield TV is also connected to the router via Ethernet.
The PC is running Windows 10 Pro and has nothing else installed on it, except for Steam and some games. Everything works fine on the PC.
My Shield TV can see the gaming PC and has a green light next to the name, it also shows the games and Steam app as available. However if I run any of them, they seem to start loading but I just get a black screen and nothing else except for the gamestream options (y for keyboard etc)
The weirdest part of this whole thing is that everything works perfectly if I gamestream to my Shield Tablet.
I am so confused right now and don't know what else I should try. can someone help me out here?
I'm having similar issues. It wouldn't work the first day I tried it, then it worked a couple days later. Now it stopped working again. I installed the Moonlight app, which is practically the same thing as gamestream, and it worked just fine.

Not compatible with Metal Gear Rising on Google Play

I'm currently on latest firmware (3.1) but Play says MGS not compatible with my Shield so I have no way to install it. Resident Evil 5 is ok though (they are both announced to be available for Shield Marshmallow at the same time).
Anyone else also doesn't have option to install MGS?
I have the option to purchase it. I'm running the Full Android Marshmallow ROM.

Any chance to have android 10?

Hello all. I've got this tablet and i like it a lot. I've been perfectly fine with it on stock use.
The thing is, I use the ps4 remote play a lot and for it to work with the PS4 controller the android version needs to be 10 for some reason.
Is there a way to make this tablet version 10?
Thanks!
