Actually I use the standard charger which came up with the phone , I bought the device in July 2019. The phone gets heated up between 36-40°c during charging which is normal but regarding battery life is what I'm facing the issue.
After it has been full the battery shows 7hrs left at 98% and later on the hours increases when the usage starts.

If your battery is bad and you try to re-flash, you will brick your device (since it will probably stop flashing about half way through - happened to me with my Wizard). Your best bet is to get a new battery... they are rather cheap either on eBay or Amazon...
From your message, everything points to a bad battery...
Good luck!
Thanks for replying
Hey
what do u think the probable problem due to which the battery got BAD?
i am using it from 1.5 years and this problem occured after that BATTERY DRAIN while i was using S2U2 2.33!
so what would be the problem as i mostly have to charge my battery from 60% twice a day so charging many times would be a problem
What do u suggest due to my big usage? Should i buy a extended BATTERY
But i want to tell u that i will take a extended battery if it fits only in the original case i dont want to buy a new case
So tell me the best option to get it also could u send me a link to buy it
it would be great thanks in advance!!!!

It could be that the battery just died on the spot... I don't believe (or at least have never heard of such an issue, let alone related to S2U2. The fact that you've had this for 1.5 years suggests that you bought it used, which means that the battery might be much older than that.
An extended battery will not fit with the original back cover. I believe that there was one (1500 mAh, I think), that it is supposed to fit, but I am not sure.
Just buy a stock battery and you will be in good shape.
hey i took a new battery still the problem occurs
It twice charged till 100% now does not charge above 70%
Same problem here
I am using Blackstone with official ROM. Its a new one. Less than one week old. Its battery is not getting charge more than 55%. Why so? I kept it on charger for one FULL night. But still its not charging above 55%. Please give me a solution for that.

Don't double post. Also, you are in the wrong section. This is for Vogue (HTC Touch and not Touch HD). You should head over to the Blackstone section and see if someone can help there.

It probably has nothing to do, but what is the output of the charger that you are using? Also, 70% is enough (specially if it is a new battery) to flash a rom. Flash the device to something else and see if that solves the problem.
hey thanks for replying
I got the charger which i go from TELUS & by the way i took the phone new from TELUS and its now 1.5 yrs i took a new battery as u said but still the problem occurs my new battery charged to 100% twice but now it does not chage above 70%
charger is having rating output- 5V - 1A

Anything really, even flash the same one you have if you want to. Just make sure that your battery is charged as much as possible. If I am correct (and I think I am), it is a problem with the battery meter in WM, and flashing will tell WM that whatever your battery level is at that point will represent 100%. Give it a go and remember to back up your stuff before doing this. Good luck!
did the same but i think the problem is wid charger
coz the battery charges with the USB connected with computer
but the orange light comes when connected with charger but battery does not charge
but if the problem is wid charger then i dont think that the battery should charge in mobile off condition???

Try a different charger then. The battery will not charge if the device is off.

HTC Touch HD battery Dead?

Hi to all,
i've a big problem with my Touch HD.
about 1 month ago batteries of my phone starting to degrade (i've 2 battery : the original 1 of 1,350mh and a second bought from ebay of 1,500mh).
At the beginning, even after a full night of charging, the battery charge was at max 70%, with the phone lasting no more than a couple of hours with low usage.
Suddenly the thing get worts and even after 1 or 2 full days of charge the battery gain max 5% of charge, with phone lasting 10/15 minutes!
I'd think about some battery problem (strange to both at the same time, but who knows?) and I've bought another original battery.
Well, THE SAME EXACTLY PROBLEM, with the battery not charging more that 5%, even after 3 days!
The salesman where i've bought the phone (an electronic superstore) said me that probably it's a Phone Software failure... It really could be? and what can i do to fix it?
Obviously, I've also the problem that at the moment a not-original bootloader + rom is on the phone, so probably HTC will say to me that warranty is now broken... Any possibilities to reload the original fullpack in any way without the battery?!
thx
You can try charging your battery with a universal Li-ion battery charger and then put it back inside HD and remove the 'illegal' stuff, before sending to HTC
I have an external charger and I've tried to charge all the 3 battery..
After few mins charger led turn from red to green... so I've checked the battery with a tester and i've found che all the batteries are fully charged...
So the phone could be totally f***ed up?!
is there someone that could have any idea on how much it will cost to change the motherboard (i've read somewhere in internet that it could be my problem) out of warranty?
thx

How many of you had your edge plus shippdd with 0 % battery? Mine came switched off

Can i ask how many of you got your s6 edge + shipped to you with 0% battery? I have had 4 s6 edge + now the 1st one came with 0% battery shipped and next 2 came shipped with 60% battery and finally this one with 0% and switched off for months in amazon warehouse made in dec 2015.
Stupidly on of samsungs Vietnam manufacturing plants ships all their s6 edge plus with 0% battery i duno why they just do and i knew this when i saw the box. It has a diff sticker on imei from my 2nd and 3rd phone which was same batch different factory.
How many of you guys got yours with 0% battery and how has it affected your battery life over the year since release?
I hope there are some battery experts on here because im.in a mess i have to send back either my repaired one which i have now or this new 1 im.furious it came with 0% battery was switched off on its own and stored in amazon warehouse for up to a year. How much damage will that cause my battery long term?
Everywhere you read about batteries say dont let it drop to 0% and switch off on its own and dont let it stay like thst charge asap and dont let it happen too often.. so how.bad will my situation be?
0% battery less than 3.5V switched off for months at least 8 in low voltage state maybe 3.3V depends samsungs cut off protection circuit is set at does anyone know the voltage?
I use this new app called accubattery it's amazing it tells you battery capacity of your phone. Really amazing and it said the new phone had 90% capacity whereas my repaired one had 92% around 2750mah out of 3000mah. After a few days tho they are about the same.
My concern is will my new phone start to fail battery wise in a few months? I've asked battery experts online but cant get a clear cut answer just that dont let it drop to 2.5V as its dangerous but i dont know what effects letting it drop to potentially 3V will do. I mean when i plugged it in at 3% it was showing around 3550mv can the voltage really jump from 3V to 3.5V in 3 mins? I was using slow charger from s3.
Im tryna guestimate.what voltage it was stored at for 8 months to see if there was any permanent damage. I dont know but definitely being in storage caused me to only have 90% capacity out the box.
What complicates matters is package disabler pro wont let me use the old . version cos the note 7 fiasco has removed all options for Samsung bloatware i need so i feel stuck. I accidently uninstalled it on my repaired 1 not knowing i couldnt install the old version again.
Does anyone know what happens to a battery which is stored at less than 0% in a switched off state and is that worse than say consistently going up and down charging wise allowing it to switch off on its own consistently?

If you are shure that battery has been stored for 8 months without charge (0%), of course that battery has already some damages I mean, it hasn't all capacities of a new one. The worst things for lithium batteries is hi temperatures and be without any charge for long periods, cause the ions loose their signal or genre. So when they are at no charge, positive ones before can take negative charge now and negative ones before can take positive charge now. These ones will afect overall charge cause they came useless forever. Understand?
the theory of dont not let it drain to 0% seem to be a myth , which i recently find out after this note 7 fiasco after all these years , but leaving it totally drain at 0% for months is another issue , you managed to charge it ?

Thank you for you reply...:good:
My Asus Zenfone Pro M1 takes almost 4 hours to charge full battery.
I tried all different chargers, Asus original, Xiaomi, also Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 and 3.0
Battery charging from 5-50% takes more than 2 hours ...no matter which charger I use.
Should I go for warranty?

I think you should go for warrenty as the inbox charger or quick charger 2.0 would charge you mobile from 20% to 100% within 2.30 hours at max so if charging time goes higher then this then you should replace the device if its under warranty
i charged my phone from 12% to 100% in 2hrs 40 mins. use inbox charger for charging it is faster then normal other chargers. it also depends if wifi is on or network data is on and if you are using the phone when charging if 4g data is on it will charge slower.

I have till May 24 for replacement.
Thanks

Sometime it does charge fast but most of the times it gets overheated and takes more than 8 hours to charge.
Well, I found out it charges best only with stock Asus charger came with phone in box.
Theoretically all chargers with 5V-2A should charge it same way, but that's not the case here.
Guys, anyone having charging problem taking long time, use only stock Asus charger provided in the box, your problem will be solved.

Only stock charger after minute or two, switches to charging rapidly, All other chargers says only charging.
Yeah it took around 2hrs to charge the phone from 39% to 94% with stock charger and latest firmware(305), also the battery is discharging quite rapidly considering it has 5k mah battery. I think the stock os still needs tons of optimization and many simple features(pip is missing, network speed on status bar, option for auto sync and many more).

My sister just bought this recently and also got an update (I think it's the latest firmware(305), the same firmware that you've mentioned), but I found it pretty peculiar, it's said "charging slow" on the lock screen even after 3-5 minutes when I use the stock charger (5V == 2A). The weirder thing is I used my Lenovo P2 charger which is the same configurations as my sister's charger and I try charging it to the max pro m1 and it did charge faster, it said "charging" on the lock screen. I'm really confused here, is it because the update?. Do I have to wait for another update or is there any other way to fix this?
Got the phone today. It was charging nicely. Then i updated it and charging got crap.Battery started draining.Might help if we can downgrade i guess.
Clear recent apps. Most importantly keep screen off. If needed one reboot and the charging is back to quick charge.....its the background apps and inability of software tweaking / background app control / battery conservation software to change from normal 2 QC. Probably the next update will b better.
I think it might just be the update ?
Huff.... I hope Asus could fix this pretty soon

You have to charge it 2-3 times from 0-10% to 90-98% so that the battery calibrates. I also found it wierd at starting but after doing this my phone charges from around 15% to 98-99% in 2 hours and 20 -2 hours 40 minutes depending on whether I've enabled the data and location. Also the standby drain is too much so I've uninstalled some system apps and use greenify to hibernate other apps, with this now it's 3-5% drain in 9 hours. Now I easily get 8-9 hours of SOT with heavy gaming also.

Same here. Battery quickly drains to 96% after unplugging from the charger. Takes half an hour max without using at all. After that normal drain.

May be new update is buggy ?
Since the last release I decided to stick with Nova Prime and no Google Companion. Before I was on stock launcher and turned off shelf. Charged to 100% and over night battery drained to 99%.Right now I am at 77% with 2 hrs of screen time and been unplugged for 16 hrs.
I would think that shelf or Google Discover is a battery drain for sure.

I don't think so. It's happening on custom ROMs as well. For me it started from one day on another. Weird thing but I think that's the ACTUAL capacity of the battery. You'll actually never have 100% battery when unplugging from the charger after some longer charging. It just shows you that.

I noticed as well. I think its because of my extended use of fast charging as isn't good for the battery. But I thought that the heat was going to the charger and you should use the charger that comes in the box.
However, from extended use of my 6T and my previous phone the OnePlus 3. Dash charging affects the battery even though heat doesn't go to the phone, it affects the battery health. And you shouldn't use it especially if you want to keep the phone for 2+ years. I've been using my 6T since December and my battery health is around 70%?! I only been using dash charge as well for both of my 6T and OP3. The reason I upgraded was because of the degraded battery in my OP3. From this, I'm gonna send my 6T back to OnePlus for a battery replacement, so that I get a brand new battery and from now on I'm never gonna use dash charge and instead gonna use quick charge 2.0 chargers as I don't have a apple 5V charger. But this should still be better for long term, even if it is a form of fast charging. All Samsung phones since the S7 have been having this quick charge standard. Using fast chargers is convenient, but it is not good for long term and it is just another scummy way for companies to reduce the longevity of your device and make you buy a new one. Tbh Dash Charging or Warp Charging or any fast charging should only be used when you're in a rush and you're phone's battery is low

Thanks buddy noticed this issue too .. while charging on regular charger it's fine shows almost 3700 as health but on dash charger it shows much lower
So i figured something interesting ...
The ideal capacity of oneplus 6t is 3700
But rated or we can say usable capacity is of 3610mah ..
So according to that accubattery is almost right ...
Hey!
I got a new device one week ago. Felt the same. As soon as I unplug, it starts to tick. Battery backup is up for 24 hours only. But I have seen many say that it lasts longer. Suggestions? ? I did one update after getting the device. That's it. Even before it was the same situation.

In the beginning I had a similar issue. Drain up to approx. 85% went fairly quick, but afterwards the drain will improve drastically. Takes some time I think

It did for me at least. Otherwise it's an app issue.
I only have the "issue" that battery goes from 100 to 96% fairly quick but I don't really care. Drain afterwards is normal and getting over 10hrs SOT easily anyway.

Yah 10+ some occasions ... So not a big deal .. and this rated capacity issue seems to be in all one plus devices .. so nothing to worry about ...i guess so

Same here. Battery quickly drains to 96% after unplugging from the charger. Takes half an hour max without using at all. After that normal drain.

Mine does this but I noticed that if I reboot my phone every morning before taking it off the charger, this issue goes away. So I'm guessing there is some sort of trickle charging happening once the batter reaches capacity. I also notice if I take the phone off the charger as soon as it hits 100%, battery does not drain to 96% quickly as well. Must be something with the way one plus software works with charging
