Is it possible to change boot logo / splash image on H872? - LG G6 Questions and Answers

I have just acquired a new H872. I have promptly unlocked the bootloader to prepare for rooting/ROMs. As you all know, unlocking the bootloader causes the boot logo/splash screen to display a "warning" that the system cannot be checked for corruption. Is there a way to replace that image? On all my Moto phones & my Xiaomi, I was able to. For the Moto phones it was a logo.bin that was replaced, and for the Xiaomi it was a splash.img.
I am hoping it is possible as well on the G6 H872, but I have not found any threads in regards to it.
Thanks!

World Cup Boot Animation BIN file?

Does anyone have the pink World Cup bootloader screen with "Powered by Android" at the bottom?
I need it as a .bin file.
are you looking for the boot logo for an unlocked bootloader? (Logo.bin) see Logo-WC-logo.bmp.bin inside -> X-LogoBins.zip (to convert or make your own see -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=53098892&postcount=355 )

I unlocked the bootloader and then re-locked it. But for some reason the warning still shows up when the phone first boots.
So I want to change the warning image to a stock boot image. I tried flashing the .bmp image, but the result was a teal colored screen with a black square in the middle. When I flashed a .bin file, it worked fine. So does that mean that the bootloader is still unlocked?

If you just took a BMP and did a mfastboot flash logo test.bmp... Yeah, that doesn't work. Unlike the CLOGO patition/graphic which is used when the bootloader is in the "out of the box" LOCKED state, the LOGO partition/graphic is a specially formatted and encoded graphic. If you use a regular BMP,at the very least the color mapping will be wrong when you boot.
As stated here -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=53098892&postcount=355 ....

(for a full update on CLOGO and LOGO, the difference, how to create, etc. see what I posted at -> http://mark.cdmaforums.com/MotoX-Bootlogo.htm )
LOGO/LOGO.BIN is used on phones which have had their bootloaders unlocked or relocked.

To be more specific and repeat something I have posted elsewhere before...
There are only 3 states for the bootloader... LOCKED (as it ships from the factory), Unlocked (if you used your unique code and mfastboot oem unlock uniquecode), and Relocked (if you execute mfasboot oem lock). We can only toggle it to Unlocked and Relocked. We can't set it back to Locked.
So if you keep getting the unlocked warning when you boot with the stock LOGO.BIN on your phone, that is normal if you have unlocked and relocked your bootloader.

Getting rid of the unlocked bootloader warning message

The way to get rid of the warning caused by unlocking the bootloader on other phones would be to flash the proper bootloader logo in fastboot using:
Code:
fastboot flash logo logo.bin
This is how I did it on my old LG Nexus 5X.
Does anyone have the correct logo for the V20? Has anyone tried this on the V20?
It's not a logo file. It's located in aboot and you can't change it.

That wasn't true on the 5X: https://forum.xda-developers.com/ne...-change-bootlogo-images-imgdata-tool-t3240052
Are you positive that it's different now?

Here is the tool that might be useful to search for and dump the relevant partition, mount it and investigate the source of the picture and text warning:
Partitions Backup & Restore
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ma.wanam.partitions
In the best case scenario, even use reverse engineering to skip the warning and its delay altogether, anyone?
Or is aboot non-writable?
You modify aboot in any way / shape / or form, and you better open a ticket with LG. When you unlock your bootloader, that stops aboot from verifying the signature of boot, laf, and recovery. XBL still very much does verification of all the other pieces of firmware. One of the first things it checks is the signature of aboot. If aboot has been modified, or wasn't signed with the same RSA cert that matches the RSA key that is in your model's QFPROM, then the phone goes into 9008 mode. At this time, there is no fixing that -- except sending it back to LG (and there may never be now that LG uses UFS nand in their phones).

I've personally looked into this and looks like it can't be changed.
I'm pretty sure the images is in the *raw_resources* partition. Look here.
It must be very hard to modify though considering LG use it for (all?) many models, since I've only found a single development thread for it, and as you'll see that didn't go very far.
@askermk2000 You are correct. Every single boot, charging, download mode, etc image is on that partition, and it isn't signed / checked, so modify away with no risk of bricking your phone.
There is an index with offsets for each image, but the format of the images isn't immediately obvious.

so it is indeed possible to change the unlocked bootloader warning?
Security wise, there is no reason that you can't change them. It looks like LG is using RLE encoding, so finding the start and end of an image is going to be interesting. There are offsets in the index, but they don't seem to align.
Also, while I don't think having a corrupt raw_resources partition would give you a 9008 brick, you might want to have a backup ready to flash if you decide to modify it. But, (and there is always a but), since aboot loads this, if aboot pukes and doesn't load, that WILL give you a 9008 brick.
If I were you, I would buy a used V10 off of eBay, and test on that since you can recover from a 9008 with an SD card.

Relocking of bootloader

I wanted to relock the bootloader of my Moto G4 Plus as now I'm in no need of root now. And even want to remove the logo which says my bootloader is unlocked.. I used the code but it is not working still pls help me out
i think you are in the wrong section but nvm. for removing the annoying boot logo you can flash the logo bin
Code:
fastboot flash logo logo.bin
in fastboot mode where "logo.bin" is the filename.bin. you can find the logos at this link
https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g4-plus/themes/customized-logo-t3451349
or if you want some more cooler ones just search around.
Now comes to relocking bootloader, you must give more info(what phone you are using) and from where you got the link and what commands you pressed. you can follow this link which uses dec update or (if you check last messages even the feb update though i would recommend dec)
https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g4-plus/how-to/stock-rom-npjs25-93-14-4-march-1-t3608138
and then use the commands given in the code OR the
Code:
OEM Lock file

but when you unlock the bootloader it changes the logo.bin and I want the stock to that I mean

Ok, so you refer to the "bootloader" logo. From what I've read on other threads every tries to change that logo or parts of the Bootloader code to do anything else, ends up with a bricked device! So the actual situation is: you have to see that ugly BL screen remembering you that your phone is "insecure". You know! But better that screen but unlocked, that a beautiful logo but locked and a dumb device!
At least, for now!

bootlogos - How to create Moto G7 Boot Images and install them?

Dear Experts,
I'm trying to make some boot images for the Motorola Moto G7.
Also the Moto G7 Plus, and G7 Power

For G7 variants
Downloaded the .bin files
Followed the instructions
It did work.
However, the resulting boot image is white.
Not blue.

logo.bin to remove unlocked warning and WITHOUT N/A! (flashable .bin + instructions)
Hello guys, I've created with the help of the Motorola Boot Logo Maker (https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g/themes-apps/app-motorola-boot-logo-maker-source-t2848667) two boot logos to remove the odd "Your device has been unlocked and can't...

For Moto Z
9 different logos in various designs, and colors.
However, the screen of the Moto Z is bigger than the G7 displays
And, some responders pointed out that after installing, it was cropped.

Also saw this by Thiago Silva in 2015.
Customized Moto logos

How to use these? For TWRP files: Just flash the ZIP in TWRP For bin files: Run these commands in fastboot fastboot flash logo_a (filename).bin fastboot flash logo_b (filename).bin

Great colors: Lineage green on black
But made for the Moto G, too small for the G7 variants.
And some people had trouble installing them.
AT least with TWRP

Q:
How can I make a custom bootlogo?
Then install it onto the G7?
Thanks a lot
