help me find this app location - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions and Answers

Hi everyone. Good day to you.
I want to use a rom but it doesn't have this feature manage app data posted in the picture. Can someone tell me how can i find it? I mean where its apk or something is located so i can copy it from one and have it in another rom.
Thanks for reading

Do you have S7 Edge Oreo 8.0 Exynos8890? For me on Oreo 8.0 BTU 2ERE8 I had this menu, now I'm on custom Rom 9.0 Pie Note FE and I also have this menu

Yeah like i said i also had on some roms like from black diamond and some others. But on certain rom it is different. Or when i change csc then it disappears. So i wanted to know where this thing is hidden so i can grab it on any rom i want.

This is probably in the cscfeature.xml or others.xml file, depending on the 8.0 or 9.0 system, which cscfeature line is responsible for this menu, I have no idea, in the seat you can replace this other.xml file with Rom where the menu works for another Rom, you only need to do the editing for a given csc, otherwise it will not work.

To be honest i did understand only this that i had yo mess with xml files. But i am no expert. If it were apk. Like replacing it with other version now that would have been easy..
And i also wanted to say it earlier. Thank you for reply

MBN Creator not working for Ativ S Neo SGH-I187!

Hey folks,
I own an Ativ S and Ativ S Neo (SGH-T899M and SGH-I187). The S Neo is an unlocked ATT branded phone.
On the S, I managed to flash roms and get MBNs working with MBN creator, etc.
On the S Neo, MBNs such as Wolf ROM 2.1, or using MBN creator doesn't change a thing. I can't even change the accent colour or time zone. Interestingly enough, when I try and change the USB mode using ##3424#, it asks for an MSL code (which I think is a CDMA only thing, which doesn't make sense).
Anyways, I'm just wondering if anyone can provide me with any direction to getting the Ativ S Neo to accept MBNs.

MBN doesn't work on latest FW.
Do I have any recourse? Can I roll back the firmware? What are we missing to make this work?

Yes, it's latest. Roll back to 8.0, flash custom MBN and then update. Unlock remains until next Hard Reset.

No such luck! I ran through the following steps, and internet sharing didn't work at any point.
1. Installed stock 8.0 rom with stock CSC.
2. Booted phone, set up, Internet sharing doesn't work at this step.
3. Installed new MBN with MBN creator.
4. Booted again, Internet sharing doesn't work at this step.
5. Used ##634# to change CSC.
6. Phone resets, CSC applied correctly.
7. Internet sharing still doesn't work.
I apologize for hijacking this thread, but did you say you have the factory image for the SGH-i187? If so, would you mind sharing with me? Several of us have phones that got bricked during a PFD update, and have been looking for the images so we can re-flash the phone.
Thanks, and I now return you to your regularly scheduled program.

If you have GDR2 rom you can also use Toast Launcher trick to access registry unlock your phone .
use GoodDayToDie capability unlock - BootStrap then update to GDR 3 and then unblock RPC Components and update again to 8.1
no need for a custom csc or mbn I think . Isn't it @-W_O_L_F- ?

Hey Bro.
I running android 6.0 beta but no new update for me ...
How update tu android 6.01
Just came to my phone as well. Downloading it now.
It would be great if someone could upload the rom if a dev could somehow use it to distribute it to the rest or maybe a system dump
It works, with a small starting issue.
Edge features are great. News (Yahoo only, can't seem to be able to change it) people, tasks, frequently used apps, stocks, tools (compass, ruler, flashlight), Twitter feed, sports scores (again Yahoo) Internet bookmarks etc.
Most everything can be customized and changed to suit your needs. One useful feature is locations and what you want the phone to do when you reach that location. I set mine to turn off wifi and BT and put it in vibrate when I reach work. I know, these things have been around for a long time but it's nice to have them in the Edge screen.
After the update was applied I was stuck on 2G for a while. Turning mobile networks off/on, swapping APNs and turning on/off roaming didn't help. I then opted to go for Automatic 3G/2G in network selection, which got me on 3G, then I switched back to Automatic LTE/3G/2G which got me back on LTE. I did not reboot, which may have fixed the issue. Just a headsup... I'm on ATT.
Smart Manager is now in Settings.
Not sure of other features... will dig some more, and of course test the battery life.
Had the 2G issue but rebooted it updated all fine.
Loving the edge features glad to see Samsung wake up and really introduce a killer feature. Now they need to keep up support, add even more cards and advertise the feature. Location feature is cool as is the compass although needs a calibration at each use.
Agenda card is awesome everything for the day and one click brings up the details.
Contact tab finally a direct call option plus lots of other options.
Only about 350MB download. OTA, its an awesome update 6.0.1 and January security patch.
is the lag still present any where on the UIs animations ?
Got the update zip for my 925F from the "/data/fota" folder.
Here is the link to the update: MEGA
Also I've managed to get the new sboot from the zip and pack it with the Tar-tool to the tar.md5 file in case it's needed for rooting.
Here is the link to the new bootloader: MEGA
Edit: changed the bootloader tar.md5, somehow md5 did not match on previous one. Sorry about that.
Link to the new one: MEGA
Battery notably better with heavy use, playing with app most the day.
I don't notice the lag but then I turn animations right down

If you mean the new bootloader, flash it with BL button.
As for the update.zip, it's not for the Odin but for the stock recovery.

i guess you may want to place the .zip file in data/fota folder and then try restarting phone, restarting into stock recovery or restarting to upload mode for SW updates.
good luck !

Welcome to XDA. This is not Facebook. Use a clear and explanatory title. We don't need clickbait here.
Settings -> about device -> software info -> baseband version. Here u can see name of your build. Now go to sam mobile.com -> firmware -> write SM-g935f -> find latest nt&t build. If it is the same, u have the latest. If it's not, you can use odin.
The firmware should be the latest 6.0.1 but the Android security patch level is May...

I checked that and indeed is different. What should I do with Odin?
1. Download the newest firmware.
2. Download odin.
3. Unpack the zip file, don't touch the tar.md5 file.
4. Take that home.tar.md5 file and put it into PDA or HOME not sure which one newet odin has.
5. Reboot Your phone using vol down + home + power, now when You see a blueish screen press vol up to confirm, and then plug Your phone into Your computer.
6. Tap on Start on Your computer and wait until it finishes
Note: I'd recommed You to backup the data that You have on Your phone, Odin shouldn't format data nor internal storage but just in case it's better to be safe .

[SM-T590] Which firmware/rom to install in SM-T590?

Hi,
I want to root it but I can't find the boot.img for the firmware I have, so I wonder if I should install a newer firmware (software update says it has the latest one... but is nowhere to be found)
So my question is, if I want to install a newer firmware, based on what should I choose it?
should it be by the region I'm in?
thanks
This is a link to the boot image for OXM_XAR version (North America). If your device says 'no updates' then you won't find a newer file to download. If this *isn't* the version you have, search for the latest of your version and extract the various images (that's where this image came from). Cheers

thanks for the reply AsItLies
the one I have is:
M1AJQ.T590XXUOARF8
which I can't find anywhere, maybe is because is from April 2018.
That's why I was thinking if it would be possible to install a newer firmware, which I can download from some websites, and so I'll have the right boot.img
But I'm not sure if I'll end up breaking the device... or what firmware should I choose (in case it's harmless to install it).

thank you for pointing to that thread, although kies3 and smart switch didn't actually gave me much help, I didn't know about the app "Phone info SAMS", which gave me the data I needed... Hi, I have a 950F (Samsung S8) and I managed to activate this hidden function (because of countries laws) by adding a line in a system file (require root). Very simple hack in fact.
I invite you search across the net about this method now that you know that it is working on our phone.

Hi. Thanks for your reply. I couldn't find any details about that line to be changed. Could you please provide a link?
Hi, I made a research on google, typing "csc samsung call recording" and i found posts like this one: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/enable-call-recording-editing-csc.3866537/
I found other posts talking about OMC and ODM folders instead of CSC folder, depending on Samsung phones / android versions..
For me, when I was on stock ROM, i used that code below (but I'm on Lineage OS now so I can't help anymore).
To activate it - you need to edit /system/csc/feature.xml file (if exists, otherwise you need to edit /system/csc/others.xml file). Just add the following line (anywhere, but BETWEEN <FeatureSet> and </FeatureSet> lines):
Code:
<CscFeature_VoiceCall_ConfigRecording>RecordingAllowed</CscFeature_VoiceCall_ConfigRecording>

So im on stock until I know the future of Magisk/safetynet what I do is flash Hades rom and select INS (India) CSC during the aroma installer, once its flashed I then flash the INS stock filmware with Odin. Once it boots it will ask you to reboot to reset but just hit "cancel" and finish the setup of the phone, you will then get a notification saying to reboot to use your sims features and its then okay to reboot. you will then have call recording. I should say that you will have the Indian filmware so some features you use may not be there or may be different none of which are important to me as call recording. (If youre not already rooted I should warn you that flashing TWRP will trip Knox and Samsung Pay/Health/Pass/Secure folder will never work again even if you flash stock, although some roms have health and secure folder patched and work)
But roms that I know have call recording are Hades rom, Duluxerom and Devbase.
