Xiaomi Mi Pad 3-SM Flash tool doesn't work - Recovery TWRP cappu 3.2.3-0 - Xiaomi Mi Pad Guides, News, & Discussion

Greetings to the whole community.
Unfortunately I'm experiencing a big problem with the SM Flash tool that doesn't work. I wanted to replace the recovery of my Mi Pad 3 table and I followed the instructions of Goayandi. I followed the method 1 of Goayandi which I quote below:
Method 1:
1. Open Settings -> About Phone -> tap 5-7 times on Miui Version to activate Developer Options.
2. Open Settings -> Advanced Settings -> Developer Options and activate USB-Debugging.
3. Turn your Tablet off.
4. Extract SP_Driver_V1524.zip on your Windows PC with (7zip) and install drivers.
5. Extract SP_Flash_Tool_exe_Windows_v5.1720.00.000.zip on your Windows PC with (7zip).
6. Download twrp-3.2.3-0-cappu-20180906.img and MT8173_Android_scatter.txt.
7. Open the folder SP_Flash_Tool_v5.1620_WinSP_Flash_Tool_exe_Windows _v5.1720.00.000 and run flash_tool.exe.
8. In SP Flash Tool open the file scatter (MT8173_Android_scatter.txt) with the yellow button on the right (Scatter-loading).
9. Uncheck all boxes, except "Recovery"
10. Press the green (DOWNLOAD) Button. After that plug your usb cable into Mi Pad 3 and wait until SP Flash Tool says FINISH!
11. TRWP was flashed successfully and is now ready to use. Turn the tablet off. Hold Volume(+) and Power Button until you see TWRP Menu
Unfortunately, however, when I get to point 9, SM Flash tool does not work, because after I load the scatter file, SM Flash tool fails to work, because the boxes remain unselected. So I can't carry out the twrp flash procedure. Any attempt to proceed is useless.
Up until point 8, I followed the instructions to the letter.
Could someone help me figure out if something is wrong or not working?
Thank you

[HOWTO] All-in-One Guide to Flashing your first ROM

This is an effort to write a comprehensive all-in-one guide (for newbies too) to flash ROMS on Huawei S7 Slim 201.
First and foremost you have to root your device (so that you can use certain applications e.g. ROM Manager, Titanium Backup). Do the following:
1. Download SuperOneClick (google it) and extract the files
2. Install Huawei Ideos S7 Slim drivers to your computer (if you have not done it already).
3. Connect your device to your computer via USB. Make sure you have activated USB Debugging on your device. Go to settings > applications > development > tick on USB Debugging.
4. Run SuperOneClick.exe. Disable your Antivirus program before running SuperOneClick (optional but helpful). If the drivers for your device are not installed, SuperOneClick will prompt you to let it find the drivers itself. Press yes and let it continue.
5. Click the root tab. (For my device I had to click root several times because the process got stuck, but eventually it succeeded)
6. After the rooting process ends, reboot your device.
Important notice: Although SuperOneClick confirmed twice that the device was rooted, Titanium Backup could not confirm root. If anyone knows of another way please advise.
Now, in order to flash ROMs do the following:
First of all, you have to install ClockworkMod Recovery on your device. (This will help you to perform many other tasks)
There are two versions of ClockWork Recovery (that I know of).
First one is v2.1.5.8
1. Download the recovery zip (201u.7z) from the attachments .
2. Extract the file.
3. Make sure you have activated USB Debugging on your device. Go to settings > applications > development > tick on USB Debugging
4. Turn off your device and connect it to your computer via USB.
5. Press the volume up key and the power key at the same time until the device enters fastboot mode.
6. Run install.bat (from the unzipped files)
7. When the process ends, reboot your device.
8. With the USB cable connected run reboot into recovery.cmd (from the unzipped files). In the window that will open on the PC, type “adb reboot recovery” without the quotation marks and your device (after a few seconds) will enter recovery mode. (This is something you will have to do every time you enter recovery mode, unfortunately, unless you upgraded to CM9 or CM10 where you can boot to recovery by long pressing the power button anchoosing Reboot> Recovery)
9. When you see the ClockworkMod recovery menu, use the volume up and down keys so many times until the message “back menu button enabled” appears at the end of the screen. Now you can use the power button as ENTER. (This is something you will have to do every time you enter recovery mode, unfortunately too)
Second one is CWM-based Recovery v6.0.1.2. (credit to WRCODE over at the androidtablets.net that mentioned it)
1. Download the recovery rar (install.rar) from the attachments.
2. Extract the file. (you will find no reboot into recovery.cmd in those files so, either use the one mentioned above, or use ROM Manager or GooManager (from Play Store) to reboot into recovery. Note: Those managers require rooting your device)
8a.With the USB cable connected run reboot into recovery.cmd . In the window that will open on the PC, type “adb reboot recovery” without the quotation marks and your device (after a few seconds) will enter recovery mode. (This is something you will have to do every time you enter recovery mode, unfortunately, unless you upgraded to CM9 or CM10 where you can boot to recovery by long pressing the power button and choosing Reboot> Recovery).
8b. Use ROM Manager or GooManager and select reboot recovery.
(this recovery version does not require anything in order for the power button to act as ENTER)
Having successfully flashed ClockworkMod Recovery, you are now ready to flash your custom rom.
1. Find the ROM that best suits you, download it and place the .zip file at the root of your internal SD Card.
2. Enter recovery mode (as explained above) and select wipe data/ factory reset. Once this is done, select wipe cache partition. Once this is done select advanced and then select wipe Dalvik cache. (very important to do all of these steps)
3. Go back at the original menu and select install zip from sdcard. Select choose .zip from sdcard. Select the .zip file that you placed at the internal SD card (make sure that it is the correct one) and press the power button for ENTER.
4. Once the ROM has been successfully flashed select reboot system now and press the power button.
If everything went ok, after a few minutes you will have your first glimpse of your new custom ROM.
Enjoy it and remember “Use the above instructions at your own risk.”
Moving to General.
usb driver for win7
hello. i've been using this tab for a while and would like to root it. sadly when i connected the usb cable to the tab the driver is not installed automatically. so i think maybe i have to install it on my own. but i can't find the driver anywhere, even the official website of huawei. (the page is available but when trying to download, it show "Service Temporarily Unavailable - The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problems. Please try again later.")
therefore i would like to request if anyone would be kind enough to upload the driver for me to proceed rooting this device.
thanks in advance.

MY HUAWEI IDEOS 201uV100R001C239B010 IS NOT OPENING GOOGLE PLAY STORE ,GAMES AND INSTALLING APPLICATIONS BUT IS PERFORMING GOOGLE AND DOWNLOADING VIDEOS AND GAMES
Device isn't being recognized on fastboot. The drivers I use has worked for all of my devices, except for this one...
:/

Bootloop Mi Logo, only fastboot available

After a restart this morning I am in a bootloop. Only thing I'm able to enter stable is fastboot.
Tried to flash the stock fastboot rom but MiFlash and manually is giving me an error when trying to write the partition.
fastboot flash partition gpt_both0.bin
target reported max download size of 268435456 bytes
sending 'partition' (33 KB)...
OKAY [ 0.006s]
writing 'partition'...
FAILED (remote: failed to write partition)
If I flash TWRP through fastboot I can't enter it with volume up. If I use the bat version to flash TWRP, it restarts with TWRP but after a few seconds in TWRP it reboots into the bootloop.
Anyone any clue before I have to send my phone back to China :/
Use Mi Flash Tool - Install stock recovery
Its a common issue while using Custom recovery. so, to get life to your mobile you have to install stock recovery.
(search google if you cant able to find, because of xda limitation on New Users i cant post any external link here. Sorry!)
Step 1: Download MiFlash Tool & download your fastboot rom.
Step 2: Turn off the device. Press the Volume– key and the Power button at the same time to enter Fastboot mode. Then connect the device to the Windows PC/laptop via a micro USB cable
Step 3: Double click on the downloaded ROM file to decompress it. Open the file folder for the decompressed ROM pack, and copy its path on the computer.
Step 4: Decompress the MIUI ROM flashing tool downloaded in Step 1, and double click on it to install (if there is security warning, select 'Run'). After installation is completed, open MiFlash.exe and paste into the address bar the ROM file folder path copied in the last step.
Click on the first button (circled out in yellow) to Refresh, and MiFlash should automatically recognize the device. Then click the second button (circled out in red) to flash the ROM file to the device.
Step 5: Wait until the progress bar inside MiFlash turns fully green, which means the ROM has been successfully installed. Then your device should automatically boot to the new version.
Step 6: Wait till the phone boot up - at first it may take more than 5 Min.Be patient with it,
Note: Using MiFlash Tool :
At first try to flash without losing data, if doesn't helps, then select Flash All. (for my Redmi 2 prime it worked with flash all). If any error let me know in comment section.:good::good:

Thanks for your suggestion kalachar.
MiFlash is giving me the same error though.
0x8000405: FAILED (remote:failed to write partition)
I managed to enter TWRP once without it rebooting, I checked everything and the problem seems to be nothing from internal memory can be mounted.
I could only mount persist and modem.
Try Full format,
Wipe>Format>type "Yes"
wait for it to complete and then reboot
if the problem still, try flash in Mi flash,.
Hope it useful,.
nothing happen after applying this method

Q&A
Q: Why did you flash miui_MIPADGlobal_V7.3.1.0.KXFMIDD_0d8dcf2bc3_4.4.zip instead of flashing a custom rom directly?
A: I wanted to make sure the repartitioning was successful.

Why adb driver? We can boot into recovery through device and flash twrp and then flash repartion zip and clear all data and flash miui right? Using adb wont be necessary right?
The last time I repartitioned, I've got hardbricked. Why is that?
I got a fairly new Mi Pad 2, with OEM firmware:

8.2.16.0.0 (LACCNDI)
Can I use this guide for mine, or do I need a different guide?
If different, any links, please?

This is only for Mi Pad 1. I own a Mi Pad 2 as well. What I did was follow the instructions from multirom.me (https://multirom.me/read.php?tid=445&fid=54) - I'm running their MIUI version + MIRU Mod. All instructions are there or in the yadi.sk folder. Good luck
i did step 15 and while flashing rom error appeared. but while restarting it said no os installed. still i rebooted to system awaiting for 10-15 minutes. sorry i wanted to revert to miui from los. can someone pls tell me how to flash miui correctly?
Hi Can someone please help me: I was redirected to this thread from

I have done exactly step by step from 1 to 11.
1. Install 15 seconds ADB Installer v1.4.3 and extract the contents of Mi Pad 1 AIO.zip to your Mi Pad's internal storage.
2. On your Mi Pad 1 go to ‘Settings’ and ‘About Tablet’ press 7 times on ‘MIUI Version’ to enable developer options.

9. Once complete, press ‘Back’ and ‘Power Off’.
10. Once Android is booted run the ‘adb reboot recovery’ command.
11. Your Mi Pad now boots into TWRP 2.8.4
But I still see MIUI recovery. Why is that? I have tried this more than 10 times. If I flash CWM and then TWRP, then I can see TWRP, but somehow my ROM flashing fails.

After installing the recovery do not reboot to MIUI. Power off and reboot to recovery. If you reboot to MIUI then the miui recovery will again be installed.
i need your help , i just flashed twrp 3.1.1.0 and it is stuck in mi bootloop when i try to boot into recovery , how should i fix this, is there any way to fastboot the stock recovery.
i will be grateful of your help :,(
Hi,
I'm struck on MI logo. I'm on TWRP 3.1.1-0. I've installed miui_MIPADGlobal_V7.3.1.0.KXFMIDD_0d8dcf2bc3_4.4.zip, AOSPExt ROM, AICP, RR ROM but every time it struck on MI logo. All the ROMs are flashed smoothly without any error. I waited for some 30 min but nothing happened. I tried flashing via MIflashtool using flashboot rom but in MIFlash tool it showed 'error: Mismatching image and device'.
Please guide me.

Hello, i am stuck with same problem, Do you have a working solution??
Much obliged,Thanks in advance
I'm at a roadblock and I don't know why. I have two of these pads and I floundered around till finally I got it back to stock and then successfully got dotOS. Sweet, now for the next Mi Pad. Shouldn't have to struggle with this one as i've done it before. Nope. It will not merge the partitions. I've tried yours and I've tried others, no difference. Any suggestions? Thanks! ^_^
i tried re flashing (merging partitons) and now my tab hangs to death after 3-4 seconds. cannot even run recovery.

Currently, I have no way of checking it. I need to revive my Mi Pad - if I succeed, I might update this guide to better reflect the current state of Mi Pad 1 roms. Mind you this is an old guide now

Seems like XDA didn't transfer attached files for the new forum. Just do a Google search and it'll show up a few places (e.g. https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=385035244224381285). Use it at your own risk.

My phone is stuck on the fastboot screen

PLeaseeee help me I have a rooted oneplus 6t. I performed a backup and wipe in hope to clear a problem and am now stuck in fastboot mode (tried to restart, power off everything). Im pretty sure as I tried to reboot it said no os detected, and then I got stuck. I have tried to install the latest oxygen os by manualling flashing 4 files. all tutorials i read have bootloader and other files while i just have - system_matrix , system_manifest , vendor_matrix, vendor_menifest (XML files by the way). I have flashed these files and rebooted only to go back to the fastboot screen. There is also a payload.bin file when i try flash that i get a FAILED (remote: Error flashing partition : Volume Full) error.

Thanks followed some tutorials on MSMtool and go it unbricked ! really appreciate it
For anyone running into a similar problem these are the steps I used
1. Download and extract files
a. Qualcomm drivers
b. MSM Oneplus 6t download Tool
2. Disable Driver Signature Enforcement by restarting your pc whilst holding shift, Choose trouble shoot, then going into more recovery ,select Advanced Options > Startup Settings > and then click on Restart.
3. Now PC will restart and Now you will see a list of startup settings that you can change. Select option 7 ‘Disable Driver Signature Enforcement’ by clicking f7
4. Now switch off your phone (by navigating through fast boot options)
5. While switched off hold both vol up + down for 5secs before connecting to your pc. *Your pc should recognise a phone is connected however nothing will be displayed on your phone*
6. Open device manager from start- Under Other devices there should be your phone (although it will be called smthn else), right click that and select update drivers
7. Browse computer for driver software and select folder with extracted QUALCOMM drivers (for me it was called unbrick).
8. The open the MSM application (run as admin tho) it should say device connected
9. Press start and you download should start- if error occurs or download stops unplug, power on, power off and the plug it again, now it should be fine.
10. Wait for download to finish and then your phone should be rebooted
