Mi Pad 1 AIO.zip (miuies_TWRP_MiPad_2.8.4_signed + Repartition_MI_Pad_1_2GB_zardMi3) [from Attached Files]
15 seconds ADB Installer v1.4.3 (https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2588979)
Mi Pad 1 Stable Rom: miui_MIPADGlobal_V7.3.1.0.KXFMIDD_0d8dcf2bc3_4.4.zip (http://en.miui.com/download-229.html)
DiskInfo: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=me.kuder.diskinfo&hl=en (to confirm the repartition was successful)
Latest TWRP version (https://twrp.me/devices/xiaomimipad.html)
Let’s get started
1. Install 15 seconds ADB Installer v1.4.3 and extract the contents of Mi Pad 1 AIO.zip to your Mi Pad's internal storage.
2. On your Mi Pad 1 go to ‘Settings’ and ‘About Tablet’ press 7 times on ‘MIUI Version’ to enable developer options.
3. Go to ‘Additional Settings’ select ‘Developer Settings’ and turn on ‘USB Debugging’
4. Rename TWRP_multirom-v2.8.4-mocha.zip to update.zip (small letters only)
5. Run the following command in CMD ‘adb reboot recovery’
6. Press volume down and choose ‘English’ by pressing the power button
7. Choose ‘Install update.zip to System One’
8. ‘Confirm install update.zip?’ select ‘Yes’
9. Once complete, press ‘Back’ and ‘Power Off’.
10. Once Android is booted run the ‘adb reboot recovery’ command.
11. Your Mi Pad now boots into TWRP 2.8.4
12. In TWRP select ‘Wipe’ and choose ‘Cache, Data, System and Dalvik Cache’
13. After wiping, press ‘Install’ and flash the ‘Repartition_MI_Pad_1_2GB_zardMi3.zip’
14. Your Mi Pad boots back into TWRP as no OS is installed
15. Install miui_MIPADGlobal_V7.3.1.0.KXFMIDD_0d8dcf2bc3_4.4.zip (there will be an error, just ignore it and let it finish). Reboot. Wait 5-10 minutes. The MIUI welcome screen will appear, complete the setup.
16. Install DiskInfo from Play Store to confirm your repartitioning was successful.
Time to upgrade to the latest TWRP version
17. (Step 2 and 3) On your Mi Pad 1 go to ‘Settings’ and ‘About Tablet’ press 7 times on ‘MIUI Version’ to enable developer options. Go to ‘Additional Settings’ select ‘Developer Settings’ and turn on ‘USB Debugging’
18. Copy twrp-3.1.1-0-mocha.img (or newer if available) to your Mi Pad’s internal storage
19. Run ‘adb reboot recovery’.
20. Once booted to recovery, press ‘Install’, in the lower right corner select ‘Images’, scroll down and choose twrp-3.1.1-0-mocha.img
21. TWRP will give you two options ‘Select Partition to Flash Image: Recovery / Boot’ select ‘Recovery’. Once selected swipe to flash.
22. You will be asked if you want to flash SuperSU – that’s up to you 
23. Reboot to recovery if you want to make sure you’ve flashed the latest version of TWRP correctly.
24. Your TWRP is now updated and ready to flash any custom rom you like.
25. Congratulations and enjoy
Q&A
Q: Why did you flash miui_MIPADGlobal_V7.3.1.0.KXFMIDD_0d8dcf2bc3_4.4.zip instead of flashing a custom rom directly?
A: I wanted to make sure the repartitioning was successful.

Why adb driver? We can boot into recovery through device and flash twrp and then flash repartion zip and clear all data and flash miui right? Using adb wont be necessary right?

The last time I repartitioned, I've got hardbricked. Why is that?

I got a fairly new Mi Pad 2, with OEM firmware:
MUI Global 8.2 Stable
8.2.16.0.0 (LACCNDI)
Can I use this guide for mine, or do I need a different guide?
If different, any links, please?

This is only for Mi Pad 1. I own a Mi Pad 2 as well. What I did was follow the instructions from multirom.me (https://multirom.me/read.php?tid=445&fid=54) - I'm running their MIUI version + MIRU Mod. All instructions are there or in the yadi.sk folder. Good luck

i did step 15 and while flashing rom error appeared. but while restarting it said no os installed. still i rebooted to system awaiting for 10-15 minutes. sorry i wanted to revert to miui from los. can someone pls tell me how to flash miui correctly?

Hi Can someone please help me: I was redirected to this thread from

I have done exactly step by step from 1 to 11.

8. ‘Confirm install update.zip?’ select ‘Yes’
9. Once complete, press ‘Back’ and ‘Power Off’.
10. Once Android is booted run the ‘adb reboot recovery’ command.
11. Your Mi Pad now boots into TWRP 2.8.4
But I still see MIUI recovery. Why is that? I have tried this more than 10 times. If I flash CWM and then TWRP, then I can see TWRP, but somehow my ROM flashing fails.

After installing the recovery do not reboot to MIUI. Power off and reboot to recovery. If you reboot to MIUI then the miui recovery will again be installed.

i need your help , i just flashed twrp 3.1.1.0 and it is stuck in mi bootloop when i try to boot into recovery , how should i fix this, is there any way to fastboot the stock recovery.
i will be grateful of your help :,(

Hi,
I'm struck on MI logo. I'm on TWRP 3.1.1-0. I've installed miui_MIPADGlobal_V7.3.1.0.KXFMIDD_0d8dcf2bc3_4.4.zip, AOSPExt ROM, AICP, RR ROM but every time it struck on MI logo. All the ROMs are flashed smoothly without any error. I waited for some 30 min but nothing happened. I tried flashing via MIflashtool using flashboot rom but in MIFlash tool it showed 'error: Mismatching image and device'.
Please guide me.

Hello, i am stuck with same problem, Do you have a working solution??
Much obliged,Thanks in advance

I'm at a roadblock and I don't know why. I have two of these pads and I floundered around till finally I got it back to stock and then successfully got dotOS. Sweet, now for the next Mi Pad. Shouldn't have to struggle with this one as i've done it before. Nope. It will not merge the partitions. I've tried yours and I've tried others, no difference. Any suggestions? Thanks! ^_^

i tried re flashing (merging partitons) and now my tab hangs to death after 3-4 seconds. cannot even run recovery.

Seems like XDA didn't transfer attached files for the new forum. Just do a Google search and it'll show up a few places (e.g. https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=385035244224381285). Use it at your own risk.

Hey guys. Thanks for the guide, I'm stuck however. I installed the latest global developer ROM in order to root and flash twrp, but there is no native option to root the ROM. What am I doing wrong? Bootloader is unlocked with xiaomi approval. Or is root China Rev ROM exclusive? If yes, the op should make that very clear, so that even dimwits like me understand it.

Hi there,
I did not use global ROM, true, don't know if possible with it.
Did you perform this step?
- Connect to WIFI
- Setting > Permissions > Root access
- Activate root access
The phone will then download a bunch of things and reboot.
After that you will be able to install TWRP and give it root access.
If not, tell me, I will update guide,
and you can reinstall Chinese ROM, to complete process, a matter of a few minutes.
Let me know
Thanks for your help! I already fixed in in the meantime, though. The permissions app only shows the root-button, if you are on the Chinese dev ROM. Which I wasn't (global one instead). Maybe you should add some extra weight to that in the guide. Other than that, it worked like a charm! Thanks buddy!
Edit: Sorry, didn't see that you pretty much already wrote all of that.

Answer from TWRP is Success, but after reboot to recovery there is no TWRP, just MI logo all the time.
Model is Redmi 3S Global
and of course:
C:\xx\platform-tools>adb disable-verity
Verity already disabled on /system

Have you downloaded the TWRP version for the 3 S? Not the Redmi 3?
I am not sure what are the differences here, but maybe the phone cannot boot if it is the wrong version.

Hmm, never seen that one,
Just to be sure, you did the following steps:
- Restart computer as per section: Windows 10 "Disable driver signature enforcement"
[...]
- Reboot to recovery, power off, power on "Vol. up" + "Power"
- Touch "Download" button (screen goes black)
- Plug-in USB cable
- Open Miflash tool... (this I know you did cause of the screen capture)
Do you have any devices identified as not properly installed in the Window peripherals?
Maybe try and install Android tools (also in the tuto) before and try to issue commands to your device.
Also, Googling "ping target failed xiaomi" I found that: http://en.miui.com/thread-354050-1-1.html
You might want to use older tool version.
Let us know
Thank you for your time.

Maybe you did something wrong cause most of the people here on XDA have no issue.
Try using an older ROM, or clean install... let us know!
By the way, this is just a guide to flashing,
Which I believe was useful for you cause you were able to change ROM.
Don't report bugs/issues on the ROM here, it is just a guide, report them on the ROM thread itself: https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-3/development/rom-cyanogenmod-14-0-t3481701
Hey guys,
I really do not know what to do.
with redmi one - i did not have problems - ok only one time
now I tried to put new international rom on my redmi 3 in holiday. I really treid it for at least 10 hours now! no success. I think, i am stupid....
flash unlock with sms and tool "miflash_unlock-en-2.2.406.5" worked.
next step is to power off and turn on with power up and power button.
If I do this, the redmi device always goes to fastboot picture rabbit and does not react to anything.
At this point I could not do anything. I always waited until accu was empty (1day) and then try it again in some other way.
Is there some really good guide? I do not know what i am doing wrong.
thank you in advance.
my redmi 3s crashed yesterday and i have the same problem now.
see here:

for redmi 3 i downloaded a lot:
roms
02 MiFlashUnlock
03 TWRP
05 Root SuperSU
TWPR and RootSuperuser i do not get installed, too.

[GUIDE] LG G Pad 8.3 [v500] Unlock, Root, Flash Official TWRP & Official Lineage OS

[GUIDE] LG G Pad 8.3 [v500] Unlock, Root, Flash Official TWRP & Official Lineage OS
I'm mainly writing this as a step by step reference for myself, but thought others may find this useful as there are some confusing older posts here. A massive thank-you to fefifofum for all his hard work, and he should feel free to correct me if I made a mistake here somewhere. The pad I used this method for was running Android 4.4 KitKat before beginning, so I did not need to downgrade the bootloader as described in this fefifofum post.
1) Acquire an LG G Pad 8.3 V500, charge it to full before beginning, have a PC with a USB (Micro) cable to connect to your pad
2) If necessary, reset the pad to factory defaults with the following hard key combination:
Hold Power + Vol Down > Wait until LG Logo pops up and release from both buttons > quickly hold Power + Vol Up + Vol Down again
Hit Power 3 times to confirm reset
3) On your PC, download the following files to a folder:
-Latest TWRP App (the APK)
-Latest TWRP Recovery for the v500
-Stump Root
-Latest Official LineageOS build for the v500
4) Boot the pad
5) Connect the pad to your PC
6) On the pad select "MTP" to transfer files
7) On the pad go to Settings -> Security -> Allow Installation of Apps from Unknown Sources
8) Copy the 4 files downloaded to your PC to a temporary folder on the pad (you may use the "Download" folder for example)
9) Disconnect the pad from your PC
10) Go to Apps -> File Manager
11) Browse to "All Apps" Internal Storage -> [Folder you saved files to]
12) Select Stump, Install it, Open It
13) Listen to the groovy music as desired
14) Tell it to brute force, and wait until it asks you to reboot
15) Reboot
16) Browse using the File Manager again to the same folder
17) Select TWRP App (not the recovery image), install it, open it
18) In the TWRP App, check all the boxes including use root access
19) In the TWRP App, Go to flash recovery from file, and select the latest TWRP.img file you downloaded (not the APK)
20) Flash that sucker
21) Reboot to Recovery (I use ADB Reboot Recovery, you could also use the hard button method in step 2 above)
22) Marvel at the beauty of Team Win's legendary creation
23) Go to Wipe -> Factory Reset, wait for it to finish, then go back to main TWRP menu
24) Go to Install -> Browse to your file folder from above -> Select the LineageOS build (a .zip file) you downloaded above
25) Install that sucker
26) Optionally, after installation, you may go to Wipe -> Format Data -> yes to clean all the LG crap off your device (this will wipe your downloaded files too FYI)
27) Reboot into Lineage OS, the best Phone&Tablet OS in town
28) Do a little dance
Hope this is helpful to me later, and to others possibly.
UPDATE: Thanks; I answered my own question, to clarify for other noobs; you need to transfer the zip file in its entirety, and twrp will unzip it upon installing!
Hi, for total noobs, the lineage os file is a zip file, does the entire zip file get transferred? or do you un zip first? If so, exactly which file do you install in step 24?
Thanks in advance.
Update:
I got to step 24, I picked some sort of "img" file to update. I have now been staring at the static LG logo for 10 minutes. How long should I wait to figure out if I did something wrong?

Update:
I got to step 24, I picked some sort of "img" file to update. I have now been staring at the static LG logo for 10 minutes. How long should I wait to figure out if I did something wrong?

You need to install the Lineage OS build at step 24 in TWRP - that will be the .zip file you should have downloaded here:
https://download.lineageos.org/v500
It should look something like:
"lineage-14.1-20180409-nightly-v500-signed.zip"
Hope that helps.
My V500 is on 4.4, totally stock, and has a 'dead' spot on touch in the center of the screen. Happened after the software upgrade to 4.4.
Will flashing Lineage OS fix this issue? It is a software issue, the hardware works properly when tested.

I'm not sure, but I know that flashing Lineage OS will give you way more current and updated software than the old 4.4 build by LG. It probably is worth trying, assuming you back up all your files etc.
By "dead spot" do you mean that the tablet does not register your touches in one area of the screen, or that there is a problem with the display?
Can the files be on the SD card instead of internal memory?

XXXXX - NVM, I went ahead and chose Grind, it then asked if I wanted to Brute Force. All is well. Thanks.... XXXXNeed a little help, please. Step 14 says to tell Stump to use Brute Force, but the app only has a button that says "GRIND". Is Grind the same as Brute Force and shouldn't the instructions mention Grind? Thanks in advance for the step by step instructions. NVM
Let's say I got as far as step 26 and then now every time I reboot (either to System or Recovery) it goes back to the TWRP boot menu. Any idea which step I screwed up?
One thing that I'm somewhat concerned with is that when I try to install lineage-14.1-20180422-nightly-v500-signed.zip or the 0429 file, the Zip signature verification fails for either. So I tried them both, disabling the zip signature verification, so it would complete.
Thanks for the write up, and sorry for what is likely a noob mistake.

There are various ways to do root and various ways to disable it and remove it.
You must write how you did root, because no one will want to answer your question clearly.
You have a long internship in this forum and you should know about XDA rules, especially 1 and 3.
Dear sarahlegs,
Thank you so much for this procedure... Easy, clear, efficient... It took only 30mn to me to proceed and to give a "second youth" to my lovely Lg Pad... !
Here are my (little) feedbacks for noobz, according to my experience :
Step 2 :
After power in your tab by pressing VOL DOWN + POWER, when the LG appears, yes, you'll have to press VOL DOWN + VOL UP + POWER (all together) until the Factory Hard Reset page appears (it's not usual to press VOL UP and DOWN in the same time).
Also you will only have to press POWER two times (not three as indicated in the procedure) to confirm the reset (just follow what is indicated on the screen).
Step 21 :
Boot exactly like step 2. You will be invited to proceed to "Factory Hard Reset" exactly like in step 2. Proceed by pressing 2x times the POWER button and AFTER that the new TRWP menu will appear (don't be afraid to perform the factory reset ! the TRWP only appears after this step... and you'll be able to go on with the procedure).
Also, I may introduce an optional "26.1" step :
If you reboot your tablet now, it will work perfectly, but as a noob you won't find any "Google Play" icon, which can be a little bit disapointing for you (or any "classic" Google tools, like Maps, Gmail, etc..).
Don't worry.
To install all (or some) standard Google applications like Google Play, you need to install the "OpenGapps" package. And you HAVE to install it NOW, before the first reboot (as indicated in the OpenGapps procedure : "If you reboot into LineageOS before installing Google apps, you must factory reset and then install them, otherwise expect crashes.").
Procedure and download links are explained here.
For your LG GPad 8.3 (assuming that you installed the Lineage version indicated in this procedure), select "Lineage 14.1 (Android 7.1)" then on next page, download your package from "ARM" as "Platform" and "7.1" as "Android" (then it's up to you to choose, Nano, Pico, Full etc... I personnaly choosed the "Mini")
Once done, enjoy your renewed Gpad, and thanks again sarahlegs for the great job he did writing this step-by-step procedure (and all people who worked on this lineage realease for Gpad 8.3) !
I have a LG tablet. I really like it, until it started giving me trouble. It has Trouble sometimes restarting etc. It just buzzes instead of coming on. If I shut the screen off, it takes several tries Before it comes back on. Someone said it might need to be flashed again. Do you think it would help it? Please give me some advice. thanks
doesn´t work on mine. Stump says unsupported device.
I have lineage installed and that doesn´t work...

Thanks for the guide. My G pad 8.3 was already rooted with towelroot so i skipped the rooting step.
Once i've flashed LineageOS it just boots back into TWRP, even if i select reboot>system it still just boots into recovery. Anyone know where i'm going wrong or can help fix the issue?
EDIT: I've fixed the issue, i had to run a couple of commands from the terminal that i found in another thread.
Thanks

I'm currently typing and dancing.
This was actually a very nice explanation.
Usually these things are too technical and you have to do research for years, but I know have LineageOS on my GPad8.3 V500 and I'm happy, happy, happy!
Anyone know if this will work on a VK810 4G model?
Can I just say a big thanks to this post and other comments - my tablet has gone from being an old and increasingly unloved device running Android 4, to become a slick clean interfaced smooth running Nougat machine. It is so good I have just bought another V500 off eBay. The OS maintainer is doing a fantastic job ( I just hope Lineage 15 will be here soon )
I've got a stock V500 running Lollipop, that I force upgraded back in the day. I'm told I have to downgrade this back to Kitkat in order to start playing with ROMs, is that true? And if so, is there a guide to do so - the link in the OP doesn't work anymore. Any advice would be appreciated!

[GUIDE][MIUI][WAYNE]How to update MIUI10 without losing data

Hi, folks, how you doing?
Today, I'm gonna help you to update your MIUI without losing your installed apps and stuff.
First of all, you have to download the MIUI rom image here. Choose wisely, because there's just one version compatible with MI A2 and it is called MI 6X - WAYNE.
----------------------------------------------------------------
A few things before you get into this:
[!]This process worked to me and can work to you, however, I can not give any garantee of how you will understand it, so, if you follow these steps, do it at your own risk.
[!]You must have USB debugging enabled, an unlocked bootloader, a converted MI A2 to MI 6X andTWRP recovery installed.
[!]CAMERA2API: If you have had edited build.prop and renamed wayne.xml to whyred.xml, you'll have to do it again. I recommend this guide.
Requirements:
1) TWRP Wayne
2) ADB
3) MI 6X Wayne rom
4) USB Debugging, unlocked bootloader enabled in Developer options
5) Platform-tools
6) Compatible USB Cable
----------------------------------------------------------------
A few explanations:
The update process has two methods: one is known as "clean update". On clean update, all data in your phone will be wiped on the process and the update will give you a fresh clean device.
The other one process is known as "dirty update". On this process, only the OS files will be replaced, keeping all that garbage (apps, pictures, music, videos, cache, etc) we love in our phones.
Today, I'll teach you how to do a dirty update.
----------------------------------------------------------------
From here, I'll assume you already have ADB installed and working in your computer and TWRP boot image placed in ADB Folder.
1) Download MIUI rom and place it in your phone's internal memory
2) Restart your phone with Power button + Volume down until you see the Fastboot bunny
3) Connect your phone in your computer using the provided USB cable
4) In your computer (Windows), open file manager in ADB folder, hold SHIFT key and right click mouse and select "Open Command prompt here"
5) In Command Prompt, type
Code:
fastboot devices
and Enter - you shall see your devices ID
6) Type
Code:
fastboot boot twrp-[version here]-wayne.img
and Enter, your phone your will restart and load TWRP Recovery.
7) In TWRP, tap "Install", it will open file manager to you choose the desired file. Select it it and slide "swipe to confirm flash".
8) The installation process will start. Take a coffee because it may take a while.
9) In the end of the update process, tap "wipe Dalvik/Cache".
10) Tap "Restart".
Your phone will restart. The first boot is a little longer than the normal (+-3 minutes), but it is normal.
will it break magisk?

Xiaomi Mi Pad 3-SM Flash tool doesn't work - Recovery TWRP cappu 3.2.3-0

Greetings to the whole community.
Unfortunately I'm experiencing a big problem with the SM Flash tool that doesn't work. I wanted to replace the recovery of my Mi Pad 3 table and I followed the instructions of Goayandi. I followed the method 1 of Goayandi which I quote below:
Method 1:
1. Open Settings -> About Phone -> tap 5-7 times on Miui Version to activate Developer Options.
2. Open Settings -> Advanced Settings -> Developer Options and activate USB-Debugging.
3. Turn your Tablet off.
4. Extract SP_Driver_V1524.zip on your Windows PC with (7zip) and install drivers.
5. Extract SP_Flash_Tool_exe_Windows_v5.1720.00.000.zip on your Windows PC with (7zip).
6. Download twrp-3.2.3-0-cappu-20180906.img and MT8173_Android_scatter.txt.
7. Open the folder SP_Flash_Tool_v5.1620_WinSP_Flash_Tool_exe_Windows _v5.1720.00.000 and run flash_tool.exe.
8. In SP Flash Tool open the file scatter (MT8173_Android_scatter.txt) with the yellow button on the right (Scatter-loading).
9. Uncheck all boxes, except "Recovery"
10. Press the green (DOWNLOAD) Button. After that plug your usb cable into Mi Pad 3 and wait until SP Flash Tool says FINISH!
11. TRWP was flashed successfully and is now ready to use. Turn the tablet off. Hold Volume(+) and Power Button until you see TWRP Menu
Unfortunately, however, when I get to point 9, SM Flash tool does not work, because after I load the scatter file, SM Flash tool fails to work, because the boxes remain unselected. So I can't carry out the twrp flash procedure. Any attempt to proceed is useless.
Up until point 8, I followed the instructions to the letter.
Could someone help me figure out if something is wrong or not working?
Thank you

Cool, enjoy. The phone is still good
A very nice and clean tutorial, thanks for that!
I already unlocked bootloader with another tutorial and for now I will leave the device on the last stock firmware. But I already tested magisk. It's very new to me. The last phone I flashed is some years ago and I only knew SuperSU.
The Note 4 is only a "second device" and I won't use it as a daily driver. But it's fun to play around with it and test some things.
@djibe89 Good hint, that I have to use an older rom as an intermediate step to avoid problem, this is new to me.
Also I wondered when I looked up the partitions to backup. There are 15 (!?) partitions (Pics attached). You are writing, that following partitions have to be backed up: System, Vendor, Boot, Bootloader, Firmware and EFS partitions.
When I flash lineage and then want to go back, can I just restore the partitions? What happens to the other partitions when I flash a rom? Will they be deleted? Some years ago a phone just had 4 or 5 partitions...
Hi @tito_puente, you can start from step 7 to enjoy a clean Note 4.
Many thanks for the guide. Worked well. Can I remove Magisk to unroot or would I need to start Over?

Hi,
Yes.
Like written in the Title, it is for the snapdragon version, Aka 4X
Ooh i did not know the only difference between the note 4 and note 4x is that the 4x uses snapdragon.
The reason I was doubting is that I got a different device ID so I thought i my phone is a different model
