Making S8+ a standalone gaming device. - Samsung Galaxy S8 Questions and Answers

Has anyone found a gamepad app that will allow you to control another app with gamepad functions?
Running Shadow (Windows 10) gives me a online desktop and i have found remote networking apps that work with on-screen trackpad, and now with the new update, i can open an app on the phone as well, but have had no luck finding an app that will allow you to use a gamepad on the same phone. With the correct app, the phone can be a complete windows gaming system with the controller on the phone screen. Anyone else tried this?

Any remote control app?

Are there any PC remote control app? Something similar to the team viewer app for iphone or another one?
Thanks!
Gmote 2.0 is kind of a remote app, mainly for media though.
It allows you to search through your files of your pc, from your phone,
and either play them on your pc, or on your phone. Has normal, play pause volume settings.
I.e. if i have an episode of family guy on my pc, i can use my phone to play it on my pc, which means i can be lazy and not move off my bed and watch it.
Also if i fancy doing it the other way round, i can stream the episode to my phone.
Only works over a local wi-fi though.
Thanks for this Phil, it's incredible and free!
It works perfectly on my Desire and Windows 7 PC (even though the installation instructions say XP/Vista).
No problemo
Only annoying thing is i cant stream most of my videos to my phone , buts that not the app fault, its fact there mostly .avi .
Great little app for us lazy people! Very useful when your watch a series of something with 20 mins episodes and you cant cant be bothered to get up and go the next one!
If any of you use MCE try myRemote, its awesome!
GRemote Pro is also awesome, not free though...
Thanks for your suggestions but I was looking for something more than just file browsing and running applications, more like having my PC desktop displayed and the mouse controllable on my desire's display.
GRemote Pro will allow you to control your mouse cursor and type etc, but won't display your PC desktop, you're talking about remote desktop software, not remote software.
For that try the LogMeIn free beta, or PhoneMyPC.

I can Highly recommend Gmote.
Tried it today on Ubuntu desktop machine and It's awesome!
Logmein is already available. Teamviewer is still in dev.
phonemypc is awesome. The execute Actions feature allows me (with the help of the app developer), to open a MS Access database on my pc with one button press. When that database is opened it automatically runs macros within Access.
I then press another button from my Android to close the MS Access database on my PC. You can of course remotely control your PC from your android. However, as mentioned above it is the ability to one button press an action that can be a bat file on your PC.
Excellent and well worth the money IMHO
If it's a remote desktop app you're after, have you tried RDP Client or PocketCloud?
UnifiedRemote looks pretty good.

TeamViewer beta 6.x both for desktop and phone work excellent! Pretty much exactly what I was after for months.
Initially, their front page ad scared me. Some Indian and Philippine fraudsters were using the same ad on their websites with a different edited product name which looks very similar overall (and the same blue website theme). They were phoning UK/US homes disguised as a legit business trying to get you to install such a product on your PC with lofty offers in return (free software, movies, etc). The product allowed them to basically take over your Windows machine without you realizing.

[Q] *WINDOWS* keyboard/mouse application

Hey just wondering I've set up my Windows PC to my TV which is about 10ft away from TV, and I play media through XBMC which is on the TV and use the dedicated Android application for it.
I'm looking to take it a little bit further though, and use the A500 tablet as a keyboard and touchpad for just doing other things on the PC while using the TV.
I've come across a few applications which use software on the PC to communicate with the tablet and send/receive keystrokes and touch input for mouse which is fine but all the apps I've played with so far if you use the keyboard bit the touchpad goes away, and you have to press another button to switch to the touchpad, and same with when using the touchpad you can't use the keyboard at the same time, I was wondering if anyone has come across an application that can show both at the same time without having to hide one or the other when using one of them.
I am not home right now to see if using the touchpad and kb at the same time works, but I use TeamViewer. I cannot see a reason you need both the kb and touchpad functionality at the same time.

[Q] Control Android TV stick with Android Smartphone/Tablet

For now it doesn´t matter if it only works with certain combinations of Stick and Smartphone/Tablet
I just want to know if it is even possible.
With Control I mean that I can see the same screen that runs on my TV on my Phone/Tablet, because I am thinking about buying a Nexus 7
and those stupid things don´t support Video output in any way
Hopefully somebody can answer me this question
As always i´m sorry for my bad english :cyclops:
I use the mk 802 III remote free from the play store to control my unrooted mk809. Works fine. If your stick is rooted, then droidmote on the play store also seems good, but I've not tried it yet. For this one you download a server app on the stick (paid) and a free contoller app to your device.
You don't get a mirror of the stick display on your phone - it basically turns your phone screen into a touchpad which controls a mouse pointer on screen - similar to a touchpad for a laptop. The only thing for the mk802 app is you need to keep switching modes for operating the pointer and operating a scroll function. Easier to do than explain, and its fine once you get used to it.
There are also remotes for xbmc if you decide to go that route (and why not!) which are a bit easier to use with that app.

DroidMote, is not only a keyboard, a mouse, a multi-touch touchpad and a real controller with six axis and 16 buttons, with DroidMote you can play also with all multi-touch-only games even if you don't have a touch screen or your device is hooked to the tv
And with the last versions you can use also your hardware controller via DroidMote Client to play all multi-touch-only games
DroidMote Client control Android, Windows and Linux

Overlay menu when you hold the Ouya bottom on the controller with home, recent, back, menu and other for easy access
Touch screen mapping like GameKeyboard, Tincore, usb/bt joystick center, Sixaxis, ...
Fullscreen
Play Store
Gapps
Chrome
File Manager
Wireless ADB
Youtube from Google TV
Netfix from Google TV
nfs
usb drive mounting
def. better multitasking

multiple user login maybe even just like an administrator login with full access and a regular user account for just playing game so your friends/siblings dont ruin all your hard work in a matter of minutes
way to list the games from the ouya store by release date so i can see whats new and not have to look through every list like an idiot
ability to unpair controllers not just turn them while the ouya still has em connected so you have to reboot cuz your keyboard is in player one slot
task killer and services manager
reboot shutdown sleep
midi keyboard support
Support for external mouse..... left click on the mouse ran the program, right click the mouse close the program, the middle mouse click caused the program settings.
Cifs support.
Ntfs write support.
I would like to see a rom that doesn't need a account to get to use your console (since sony was hacked i don't like to give my credit card infos away)
Another OS would be nice like a Desktop optimized Android (a cm 10.1 mod is already working and out there http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2348548) or a Linux distro like Debian or Ubuntu

Are there any tools to map buttons to the touchscreen?

For those games that don't support the controller directly, is there a way to map the Joycon buttons to the touchscreen? I read that the Nvidia Shield included a system-wide functionality to map buttons to touches, but I haven't found a way to install it on the Switch over LineageOS. There are also tools like Octopus or Panda, but I'm scared of potential bans on games like Genshin Impact, plus some of them require an external ADB connection from a secondary device. Is there some flashable zip or a Magisk/Xposed overlay I can install instead?
I had SOME success with Mantis Gamepad Pro. I got it working by connecting it to my PC. Started CoD:Mobile, and went into Training. Accessed the Mantis menu overlay, then I pressed "add button", and it tells you to press the button on the controller you want on the screen. So I did this with everything. Looks great.
But when I close the settings, and try and actually USE the controller, the controller the program JUST took instructions from when mapping the touchscreen buttons, it won't do anything. It's like the controller isn't even connected. Even tho it registers when the program asks you to press stuff on your Joy Cons during setup.
Could it be something about Mantis Gamepad Pro not having the right access options or something? Could you please try it out as well, and update this thread if you figure anything out.. Or if you found another solution. I just wanna play Call of Duty Mobile on my Switch.
