Ram management is good, not that much good but a little good one. Only 1 gigs of ram is free for other tasks

Having not really good experience with RAM i guess, when i listening to a bible app, it doin force close after locking the screen for a time.

Me too.
4gigs ram version here, and around 1gb free ram available most of the time.
Now I'm really curious about you guys who get the 6 gigs version. Do you get 3gb free ram?

Knowing that, now I'm thinking to sell my 4gb R3Pro and upgrade to the 6gb version.
Or waiting for Realme X, hoping it will be released in my country.

On boor around 3.7/3.8 GB is free and then after using few apps it goes down to 2.2-2.5 Gb free and haven't noticed any lag for anything I throw at it except Facebook app which I strongly believe is application issue and not phone. May be not optimised for EMUI 8 or Oreo amd sucks always. Same issue on any EMUI phone with Facebook
The v10 once again continues the Huawei/honor tradition of implementing swap via zram.
I had 3 GB free RAM and yet it set aside a swap space of 2240 MB and was using 400 MB of it - for no reason.
I wrote the first swap-killing mod for the stock rooted EMUI for the honor US launch and will be providing the same for the new phone.
Lag spikes hit everywhere and we know from experience that goes away when swap is turned off.
You have 6 GB RAM and Android has its own app caching service that works a treat.
Eventually you will run out of RAM on anything.
It's pointless to live with lag spikes just so that synthetic claims about having 2 GB more virtual memory can be made.
I have the 6GB RAM model of the Honor View 10 and it handles multitasking very well.

P10 Pro - RAM question (after Oreo)

Hi everyone
As you all probably know, the P10 Plus has 6GB of RAM.
Having looked at demo's instore, of the Plus model (running Nougat), it only shows 2.95 GB available, from the 6GB installed - with only Phone/Contacts running in the background.
(Personally I'm VERY dissapointed by that):crying:
QUESTION, after the Oreo update, how much RAM is available then?
2.87 with inly xda running. Why is that so important? Tge phone is lightning fast
free RAM is waste of RAM
what poiny of having big RAM when not fully utilized?

Back in die days of the 1st Galaxy S, I used to run out of RAM quickly.
Eversince then, RAM is important to me, especially in a flagship.
Utilization isn't always an option, hence lots of RAM is important (in my opinion) & is required.
in my opinion as i already use p10 plus and OP3T. both has around 3GB free RAM. Here i attached my device RAM. noted that i have many unclosed apps. i hope it help you. device not even fill sluggish although i open lots of apps

Great, that's what I'm looking for. I'll be uploading the photo's I took in-store to show what I mean.
Apparantly, one can use Huawei's HiSuite Windows program to restore your firmware after an update, in case Oreo doesn't play nicely.
I've attached some photo's to my post, have a look

Having no problem in multi tasking. No lag or any thing.. Using multiple apps without any problem..
I have 4GB variant and ~2.25GB is free most of the time which is handling all the tasks.

Hey there...
I wonder if that's still true. My wife also has the 4gb variant, and even with 2gb of free ram, if she opens the camera app and takes a picture, EMUI (8/9) will kill the previous app (usually games). Apparently, the camera app eats about 1gb of ram.

Thats mostly due to battery management rather than memory managemen try to set manual battery management for those gaming apps .

It's already in manual mode (see attached). Even if it were due to power management, the phone was never idle or the screen shutdown. Nor even Greenify would act that fast. It must be ram management.
Any more suggestions?
I have never had any issues with my 4GB model on the Honor 10.

Can't wait till it actually comes out.
It has 12 GB of ram in S10 plus, Multitasking and while scrolling is smooth as butter. Expecting there are no more lags in this S series.

Is it the official news or just rumour that it has 12GB RAM?
I read the TB version may have 12 gigs of ram on the 5G version. The regular 128 will have 6 and the 512 will have 8 and maybe the 1TB 10 on the 10 plus. Guess will find out soon!
how do i rate the thread?

Nothing is official till now, All are rumors. Samsung didn't confirmed anything officially. But there is a rumor that 1TB version of S10 plus will have 12gigs of ram.

I think I may get the 8 Gig 512 one. I have 64 now on my 9 plus so 128 is plenty but I also have 6 ram now and would like more 8 sounds good LOL! Is the battery the same on all 3 versions of the 10 plus? I know the show is Wed at 11am in California which will be 2pm my time. I work 2:30-11 so I won't get to watch but 30 minutes of it will they be showing it to watch after like a repeat?
I'll be getting the 8gb / 512gb 10+ model. This will be a step up from my Note 9 6/128... ??
1 terabyte and 12 GB is too much... I will probably go for the 8GB and 512gb :fingers-crossed:
512 GB and 8GB RAM S10 plus coming up[emoji16]

Turns out all 1tb versions are gonna come with 12gb ram. Think this is going to effect battery life? Maybe better to get 128 in the better colors and use an SD card?
I'm getting the 8 gig 128 so glad it's 8 gigs Just need to pick out a color and decide whether to trust Samsung trade in or go with Best Buy their doing 550 also and I have a 50 dollar gift card to Best Buy and their unlocked is 949 if you activate it that day.
From what I've seen ONLY 12GB RAM in 1TB version and thosee are only ceramic as well.
The S10 & S10+ can keep a range of apps in memory. I didn't try a multitasking test on the 10e, though I can say the other models deserve high marks.

That’s the one i went with.
It's nice that a 12/1tb is there as an option, however at £1400 I have to pass, plus that's not available on Contract
The 8/512 will suite me fine until the Note 10 drops

If you're not looking for 1TB storage then 8GB RAM is more than enough.

I ended up getting the 128 version instead of the 512, $250 extra was a lot for me. I ended up also getting the $50 discount because of the reservation. Furthermore I'm also getting a free memory card (because of the reservation) and Galaxy buds +student discount.

RAM Management is too good in Redmi Note 7 pro, I have 6GB RAM Variant there is no lag. And keeps every apps in background, It loads the app without reloading it.
Using the 4GB version, I see the RAM usage constantly is @ min 2GB even without any Apps, when few apps are loaded it is down to only 1GB free space, is this normal?
just for basic knowledge, i want to know what is the Ram type of RN7 Pro?? is it LPDDR4??
