Pie update broke clear view display - Samsung Galaxy S8 Questions and Answers

Before the update, if I closed my case and put it on its charging dock, it would display the clock. Now I put it on and the screen turns off and displays nothing after a few seconds.
I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong here. I have Always On Display turned on. I've also got the option "Don't show when cover closed" turned OFF, so I should be seeing the clock even when the cover is on, right?
All I want is my clock to display when the case is closed and the phone is docked.
EDIT: Nevermind. I think the "Tap to Show" setting for the AOD might be the culprit.

Clock display

Not sure if this has been mentioned by anyone yet...
Noticed the new dock which has just been released automatically displays the clock when phone is placed in the dock. If you actually start the clock application manually, and are on usb/mains power, then the clock will remain on the screen and the screen will not auto turn off as normally happens. After a short while, couple of minutes, the display dims and a screensaver type clock slowly moves around the screen. Touching the screen makes the main clock application re-appear. All without the dock
i heart this phone
yup, thats the way they designed it.
The 3 pins at the bottom are probably:
+5v (red)
Ground (black)
Dock Sensor

Noticed it too. Can't the screen be damaged by being on all that time?

I think thats why it's moving around to different screen positions...

Screen turning on for no reason

My lock screen keeps turning on every few minutes, I don't have any notifications or any reason that I can see why it would be turning on. It just turns on to show met that it's turned on I guess. I get a flash of the light effect, then it turns off 1 or 2 seconds later. It happens every few minutes. Any idea?
Most likely quick glance. Do you have quick glance turned on under air gestures? Does it show a quick glance of notifications and time or is it the actual lockscreen

I have all of those sensor settings turned off, so that's not it. It's the actual lockscreen. I do see a glimpse of the light effect, it's like something is touching the screen to wake it up, but I know for a fact that nothing is touching the screen!
All of my settings are off besides wi-fi, mobile data, screen rotation, and sync.

Always On Display Setting

I had turned on the always on display shortly after setting up my new G6, and then a few days later I turned it off. However the setting keeps turning itself back on, usually overnight. I had turned it off yesterday, but woke up this morning to the display being on, and the setting set to on.
Starting to think I have a gremlin messing with me.
Go into your AOD settings and verify you didn't accidentally set up something the revolves around the time for your AOD to come on. See attached screenshot
Good call. I checked the "Daily timeout" and it was setup.
Turned it off and we will see if that stops it from turning back on in the morning.
I love the AOD. I was using the digital clock, but then changed to the analog clock. I like watching the red second hand. I also use the screen saver when wireless charging, although I feel more thought could have been put into it. The screensaver seems half baked to me, but it works.

How goes battery drain with this turned on?
I don't notice anything adverse.

I don't wanna start a new thread. But can you in any way customize the AOD? I don't need the battery icon shown there as it distracts a little from notifications. Any way to turn notifications and icons on/off?
And did you guys notice any serious battery drain when turning AOD bright instead of normal mode?
Whats the brightness selection, is it the overall brightness of the AOD? I think from default it's reasonable

Got this random blue screen??

Hi there I get a blue screen the screen shows the time and date nothing else and it doesn't use the bottom 25% of the screen. Its very weird but it seems like a feature I'm enabling by accident as when I get a call it shows the pick up and hang up options. But I'm unable to get out of that mode.
I have attached a screenshot of what happens. And also screenshot of my rom ect..

It is a feature you're enabling by accident. Do you have a magnet anywhere near??
That is the transparent cover display mode, you know those cases with covers that have a small transparent window on them? They have a magnet, and there is a sensor inside of the phone. When you open the lid the screen turns on, and when you close it it locks and goes to that blue screen for some time.
I think you can disable that on the Display settings, not sure.

Samsung S10+ Proximity Sensor issue

I would like to tell you that it often happens when I pull the S10+ out of my pocket, so the display is not in "stand by" mode, it is not always on display, but it is slightly backlit. Classically, the display is black and shines only AOD. But when I pull it out of my pocket, instead of the classic AOD it shines for hours and even seconds and after them you can see the wallpaper of the locked display and it is slightly backlit. The display itself is dark, but it is slightly backlit and you can see the wallpaper. With the classic AOD, the display is completely black and I have set only hours, minutes, date and battery, and of course, the notification, if any. Does anyone know what it is, whether it can be turned off so that the display does not illuminate the pocket?
I have accidental touch protection on.
As far as I know proximity sensor is only accessible when you are in call, that's why other apps can't access it.
Samsung should remedy this. Because I always change the Always On setting in my pocket. Specifically - Rotation and Brightness Always On.
EDIT: It happens most when I tap wake-up.
