Slow/Laggy Scrolling in NFL App - Samsung Galaxy S10+ Questions & Answers

Love the phone so far, but one app I have noticed extremely slow/laggy scrolling is the NFL app. It also seems to keep "rubber banding" back to the top of the article as well. Does anyone else have this issue? Scrolling works fine on my Pixel 3XL, so not sure why it would be slow with this phone.

Could someone with an S10+ maybe download this app and just let me know if they have the same issue?

Turns out I just received a software update for the S10+ and it actually fixed the issues.

Was this an NFL app update or phone update that fixed this? I have had the same issue on my Note 8 since the Pie update and still have this annoying issue.
Thanks,

It was the March Security Update for the s10+, however since then it seems like some articles in the NFL app still have this annoying issue. I have yet to find anything that completely fixes it or what the cause is and it only happens in the NFL app.

The problem is football

Possible software update November 11?

If you might have mistakenly gone into the stock browser on your phone, you might have seen that the terribly annoying browser bar will be leaving it on the 11 of November. Does this mean a possibly software update(android L?)?
:good: 555
I removed my stock browser with Titanium Backup long ago.
I have no idea what bar you are talking about

Just disable Browser Bar app in system-apps-all. It won't annoy you anymore. No update.

Gmail app not pushing

Got my new verizon s7 sat. I can't get Gmail to push new emails, it only works if I open the app and manually refresh. I have tried wiping cache and data for the app, ensured that the sync Gmail in settings >accounts is on.... which it seems to get hung up there occasionally, I see the circle but it isn't spinning. I have turned on all the settings in the app too
**edit 4/22/16. It is working now

As far as I have seen, this problem has been around since January sometime. No it has not been fixed though according to this article they know what the issue is. I don't know what they are waiting for to fix this. I have heard Inbox is working better. You can look into that if its urgent enough.

This article was posted in febuary and states that some people at google said this:
"Thanks again for your patience on this while the team investigated the issue. I’m happy to announce that a fix has started to roll out. This fix requires no action, and will roll out globally over the next week."
It's been well over a week now.. still no fix?

Yeah, I don't know what they are dragging their feet with. According to this google forum I found it is still an on going problem.

One of the suggestions in there is to use CloudMagic. It seems to be helping with instant notifications for those of us that need to have emails notify of us instantly.
Hope this is helpful.

Well it appears to be working again, I cracked my screen already on my phone, so I got a new one through insurance. Fired it up last night and the Gmail app is pushing as normal not sure if it was an update , I had the app set to stop syncing before maybe it worked with the old phone after an update , regardless it is working now

Came here to ask the same. I'm afraid of it ruining FoxFi tethering. Can anyone that's taken the update confirm it works still?

I took it, FoxFi still works :good: Odd thing is that the security patch is dated Feb 1...I thought this was going to get us March
Maybe someone can post their "about" screens and we can compare...may have gotten a new kernel or something.

Thanks! Yeah just looked at mine (pre-update) and the security patch says February 1st as well. Well good thing they locked our bootloader to keep us safe /s.

This is what the Verizon page says...very useful, not.
I'm very conflicted emotionally about this, on the one hand I'm frustrated that I don't know what this update did and on the other hand I'm overjoyed that after a week I already have an update to a Verizon Samsung phone....meanwhile my galaxy S6 hasn't received an update since November LOL.
It seems like it is just a security patch

I'd like a damn fix for downloading pdfs on chrome from my school's page, moodle. Samsung rep said he had no idea why it doesn't work, even after a factory reset. I'll try this now, knowing it probably isn't the fix I'm looking for.
Any chance of someone injecting root into the update, or is it to early?
Trying to decide whether to push it off or just grab it. I got the update notification on my s7 edge my wife has had nothing on her s7.

Security update without the most recent security patch even though Verizon says "The current software update gives you the most up to date Android™ security patch on your device.". Lame. They probably found a root exploit and closed it.

What browser? I have no problem downloading PDFs with Chrome.
Android System usage seems to be way less after this update. As of typing this its 12%, instead of mid 20's to mid 30's.

I'm using chrome. I was at bestbuy and my phone wouldn't download the PDFs, we did a factory reset and it worked. The next day it did not.
I went back in and the Samsung rep said sorry I don't know what's wrong. We downloaded different apps to open PDF, but chrome defaulted to its file viewer and said can not open PDF. But it works fine on opera. I'm going to go in tomorrow, and if it doesn't work in going to keep swapping phones until they figure it out. It's annoying and it seems to be a chrome issue with Adobe and chrome pulling plugs, but idk. I don't think the rep should back away from the issue.

No such luck for me, if anything it seems higher.
I had never seen 30% but that's what I'm looking at now.

Mine was up around that before the update, then a couple hours after it dropped to 10 to 12. Stayed there the rest of the day. Will be keeping an eye on it tomorrow to see how it is off a full charge.
I noticed that my phone goes into doze mode better. When I would take the phone if the charger at 100% and let it sit I would not enter doze mode. The battery would lose some percentage points instead of staying at 100%. This morning I took the phone if the charging pad at 7am and checked the phone at 8:15 am and it was still at 100%.

Wonder what's in it besides security fixes?
Its about 353.7mb,but for some reason it wont download. Its downloading, just needed a restart
One thing i can tell you is that the upgrading has changed, instead of the green android showing up when its installing, its now a multi colored circle. When phone restarts from install, the final upgrade look has changed as well
Still doesn't fix messages lag since 7.0 that's highly annoying and I don't even use this line that much for it.
Also for awhile I randomly get Amazon photos has crashed, but I don't even have it installed haha

I get that as well and I have it disabled
I don't think I have gottin the Amazon crash with the newest update but I well could have I have just came to except it. :/ Before the newest update it seemed to happen most for me right after plugging in the charger. And also I have all the Amazon crap disabled so it's rather odd.

T-mobile ATE6 update really helped with autofocus issues! Check it out

So we all know the s20 series has had problems with auto focus especially in the ultra that one was really jacked up. I have the regular galaxy s20 and also have autofocus problems. I have done numerous things to try to make it better I even did a full reset which I normally never do because I would just clear cache and data of said app and it would clear things up. but not this time autofocus was hit or miss for sure and problematic. And for a $1,000 device this Just is not right and don't cut it for me... shoot my old one plus seven pro had better autofocus! and that thing was like 600 bucks. Anyway I am pleased to say that with this new update it is pretty much 100% autofocus is much faster, actually really fast. and 10 out of 10 for me focused instantly. hopefully I don't get in trouble for this if I have to take it down mods just let me know.

Auto update hasn't hit the US. Maybe we'll see it combined with a June security
update soon.
Edit: I see it is hitting T-mobile and other US carriers this morning, but still with May security patch. US unlocked got ATD1 at the beginning of the month, not sure if T-mobile ever got that one, or just skipped straight to ATE6.

Yes t-mobile dropped the update. Just updated mine Friday night May 22nd at 11pm. And I gotta say this update definitely improved on the camera auto focus. And for me it definitely boosted up my battery.

This just came in, installing now, is very fast, the fingerprint is very fast, this update size is 462 mb For the S20 Ultra on T Mobile G988U
Definitely noticing better auto focus after the update.
Now I'm looking forward to Samsung's promised update to allow native gestures to be used on 3rd party launchers. Wish I weren't so anal about small quirks of the gestures that FNG has but the native gestures are the best IMO.
Man, I hate this. I'm on an unlocked s20 ultra and tmobile somehow pushed it out before Samsung does.
Yep def improved some things with this update....things i have found are the auto focus is blazing fast now and seems like fingerprint is a tad quicker....also idk if its me or what but sound seems to have improved coming out of the speakers for sure
After T-Mobile ATE6, my Samsung Keyboard forcloses. Anyone having this issue? I had to use voice command to download GBoard from Playstore because I wasn't able to type anything at all. Matter fact, the keyboard itself doesn't pop up. I've also wiped cache and deleted data through apps. Galaxy store says it's version 5.0.21.0
the blinking light on screen when on a phone call is also gone but the Proximity is working fine.
did anybody check on that?

Do you have a custom theme or something installed?
I had this issue and it was due to hex theme. I recompiled the theme again and it started working fine.

Type this in adb connected to s20 ultra while on home screen. I use nova launcher and native gesture at the same time. You'll have to do it again if you change the navigation type in settings or if you restart the device.

Hopefully SM-G988U1 users will get it soon!
So I converted my US unlocked to T-Mobile version (never thought I’d ever say that! Lol) and yes, it’s so much better now. Camera snaps to focus very quickly. Night shot seems better also.

At least for the Ultra, an easy way to know they aren't the same: the current ATD1 software on the unlocked phone doesn't have the new macro prompt. ATD1 has been out for a month, the new improvements in ATE6 just surfaced in the past week. But ATD1 did roll out with the May security update already, I expect unlocked will get the improvements of ATE6 with June security in a week or so.
