Not sure if this is true where you are...its the carrier package that can determine the resolution of playback limited it too 480 instead of taking advantage of the full abilities of the screens resolution...

I'm in the US..
But i have the unlocked version and is connected to the wifi ....

L1 DRM is not the only requirement for Netflix. The device needs to be "whitelisted" by them. See "Netflix in HD" here:
https://help.netflix.com/en/node/23939
It looks like they did not whitelist the Snapdragon 632 processor, even though they did list 630. Netflix is annoying like that.

I cannot find Netflix in Google play store
Hi there,
I have a Moto G7 (US version) with Amazon Alexa Hands-Free – Unlocked, with its firmware totally replaced with the Stock US retail firmware. Everything is fine except I cannot run Netflix. I cannot find Netflix from Google play store. I tried to download several netflix apk files from apkmirror.com and install them but all of them failed to run with the message that the version of Netflix is not compatible with my phone.
Does this happen to you? Which version of netflix did you use? Where did you get it?
Thanks.

I found this version to work Netflix 3.16.6 build 5382 (arm) (Android 4.0+) https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/netfl...6-6-build-5382-android-apk-download/download/

Netflix

It seems the apk for Netflix has been leaked can't seem to get it to work fully but maybe someone else can.

I was able to install and launch. I can search movies and manage my queue, but I get an error if I try to stream. Looks more like Netflix is blocking it than a system error.
It would be great to get Netflix streaming.
Netflix DRM on Android
Netflix not streaming seems to be a DRM issue. More info in this thread.

Amazon Prime bought Netflix of Europe, try their 30 day free movies on their instant video page,3000 movies so far, Free!
I use it on my A7,its great. After free trial its only $79.95 yr.
That s cheaper than Netflix USA and Blockbuster.
Thanks! I am a prime member but didn't know vids could be played on my elocity.

Netflix - Amazon Prime?
I am also a Prime member and can stream videos just fine to my Mac or my lil netbook, but when I try on the A7 tab, it returns a message that Amazon does not have this set up yet for mobile devices. I've even tried signing in through various browsers to the full Amazon site, but each time it seems to recognize my device and says it's not supported.
If you are running something that allows you to stream videos, please do tell!
there are some alternatives to playing hulu / netflix on your mobile...
PlayOn makes it possible to stream from your pc to mobile/tablet.
TVersity makes it possible to stream from hulu.com (no netflix i think)
on your tablet, use something like Skifta to play the DLNA stream, it works.. i tried it with Tversity / hulu.com .. not perfect, but it works..
maybe someone got a better dlna based and cheaper solution?
Netflix app released on market work with several devices wonder how we can make the a7 look like the evo 4g.

if it rely on "DRM" , A7 does not even support it at all..
my port "Blur" do support it, but not sure if its 100% implemented correctly from my side with directories and apps running.
A7 stock firmware has not support at all for DRM media.

I'm confused. I'm able to run Amazon Prime video no problem on mine. I don't remember if there was a app on amazon or what (my fuzzy brain seems to be telling me that there was a download prompted by Amazon the first time I went to the video section).

Google Movies won't work on rooted XOOM's

I've been emailing with someone at Google's Movie support and am being told that the reason my XOOM can't download or stream movies from their new service is because it's rooted.
Is anyone else out there having similar issues? IMO, this sucks. Hoping for a swift resolution.
I think I may have the same issue. My xoom is unlocked and rooted and I get a license error (error 49) whenever I try to download a movie.

Not surprising. The first thing that I'd try to do if I had "pinned" a movie for offline viewing and I had root would be to look for the decryption key and the encrypted local file. HD movies on the cheap. Root and DRM just aren't compatible.

My HTC Incredible is rooted and I just installed the new Netflix streaming app and it works. So I don't think that rooting and DRM must be mutually exclusive.
What if you have a movie pinned for offline viewing, then root I wonder?

Netflix doesn't let you download movies like Google Movies does. Netflix also isn't doing HD. The DRM requirements for HD are a *lot* tighter and more restrictive than they are for SD content.

"fastboot oem unlock" (aka, rooting the Xoom) wipes your device.

No, unlocking isn't the same as rooting. You can unlock and not root. (Unlocking only enables fastboot's ability to flash unsigned partition images)
I wonder what happens in that case, where you unlock and not root? It might be an interesting -- and potentially expensive -- exercise to see under what conditions exactly does this error trigger.
Rooted users are actually seeing the movies listed in the market, but just can't play them right?
I got 3.1 on my non-rooted wifi version this morning and the market has no movies tab at all.
I just tried, I can rent and its in my rentals but won't play.
Edit: I'm rooted

Hi horatiopositronic,
Sorry for the confusion. An update bringing the Videos app and Movies tab
in Android Market is currently being rolled out to Verizon XOOM customers.
Wi-Fi Xoom devices will begin receiving this update (separate from 3.1
update) in the coming weeks. When the update becomes available for Wi-Fi
Xoom users like yourself, your Xoom will automatically receive the Videos
application, and your Android Market will display the Movies tab. Look
out for notifications updates in the coming weeks (bottom right corner
near your time).

I read from Droid Life that if you delete Superuser.apk and su that Movies will start working. Hence root is the issue.

I have a UK wifi xoom which I unlocked, and played around with a while back, including rooting it and installing Tiamat. I've since returned it to stock US software (just so i can get updates more quickly), and no longer have root access. However, I still get the error 49 if i try to play a movie from the market. Surely they don't block movies from devices that were rooted once upon a time!?
I have a rooted Thunderbolt and receive the same error. It has to do with su and root. I don't think this exclusive to the xoom.
(I'm posting here because i just bought a xoom and will be rooting as soon as i do the knowledge on it.)
Thanks

Netflix showing compatible in android market

Not sure if this has been mentioned before, but today when I was browsing the android market through the browser I saw Netflix and went to it as my droid x is compatible and was going to have it send to that device when I noticed that android market had my A500 listed as compatible also. It sent it to my A500 and installed. It launches without any warning about non-compatible device. Though I get an error while attempting to stream. Anyone else get this also?
tryed looking up the netflix app 4 my a500 not showing for me
I was able to install the app from the market, but when I tried to stream it says,"Sorry we could not reach the netflix service. Please try again later. If the problems persists please visit netflix.com. (11000)"

I don't understand why they would rather have it working on phones first before tablets..I can't watch a damn movie on my evo 3d to be honest
i don't even see the app. I downloaded it a while ago and when I click the app it says this version of application is no longer supported (12008)
WTH the evo 3d has netflix now. I know this tablet is way better then some of the ones they support. Lets go netflix get your mind right

Netflix HD with Rooted T510?

Has anybody gotten Netflix to play in HD with a rooted T510?
So far I've tried:
1) Hiding Magisk from Netflix
2) Running the liboemcrypto disabler module on Magisk (This got Netflix to work but no HD)
3) Running the Netflix Enabler module
Nothing seems to allow me to watch videos in HD.
Any ideas?

With all of the "stay at home" orders, we have more an more people depending on streaming for entertainment. About the only thing to do. This is causing major bandwidth problems for the entire internet. Europe has gone so far as to ban 4k streaming from providers such as Netflix. Why in the name of all that's holy, are people WASTING bandwidth in order to use something that makes so little difference!!!!!!!!!:crying:

Unable to play HD videos in Amazon Prime

Anyone else facing the issues playing HD videos in Amazon Prime. Even after changing the stream settings to Best quality it plays in 480p. It was working fine before and stopped all of sudden. Though the device is Widevine CDM Level 1 it should not have any issues playing HD or FHR videos.

I'm facing the same issue and it occurred since Android 10 upgrade.
Widevine is L1 for me too.
I ask to prime video technical support and they answered me the problem is in the phone (Xiaomi upgrade) and not in the app.
I 'don't know if it is right... but we are not the only ones with this issue.
Is there someone who could use primevideo in HD with android 10?
Does Netflix app work fine in HD or does it have the same issue?

Very strange!
In an Italian forum an user made the check on Netflix app and he could have the 1080p setting, only for Primevideo is not possible to have HD contents.
Any news about the problem?
It occurs also with MIUI 12...

Yes, in fact netflix, youtube, skygo and all other apps tried by me or by friends support hd.
Amazon customer service will open a ticket to xiaomi if someone could send to them the prime video app logs files.
Unfortunately on my phone, I couldn't collect their logs, because this operation doesn't work...
"send a feedback" function.
Could you try to call customer support and send them the logs?

I did try calling both Amazon and Xiaomi but no help. As per them the issue is with phone. Also Hardware Acceleration is missing under Amazon app for me which helps to play HD videos. Making the change in Hardware acceleration might help you.
Here they say it is a common problem with xiaomi and realme devices...
Amazon Prime HD streaming issue appears on Xiaomi devices, fix coming
Xiaomi devices facing Amazon Prime HD streaming issue even with Widevine L1 enabled is a known bug, fix to arrive in the future.

Guys , tbh if you check the history of this problem carefully, you will understand that Chinese phone companies (With widevine L1) are affected by this issue . I am a oneplus user. I got widevine L1 support. Still plaing 480p videos on prime .This is a trust issue problem by the ott platforms on Chinese devices.
I know I am very late
i also had the same issue but when I joined beta and updated it to the beta version i could stream in 1080p
