Is it safe to unlock the bootloader on Huawei P Smart (Enjoy 7s)? - Huawei P Smart Questions & Answers

I'm planning on unlocking the bootloader and flashing TWRP on my FIG-LX1
But my dad keeps saying I'm gonna break it
I already did this to a Xiaomi but it's completely different
I'm planning on downgrading it and then unlocking the BL
So is it safe? If not, what can I do instead and how?
Thanks

I'll wait for you to do it and tell me..
I'm on 8.0.0.170. but i'm not downgrading until someone else tries first..
I did that on P9 lite last year and bricked it, took me a month of trying to fix it.

After that first part I'm starting to feel bad
This is my only phone and I can't break it

... almost all the people with root had to downgrade and did it easily ...if you download a compatible stock firmware it's impossible to brick and the worst that could happen is that it refuses to flash ... nobody is going to promise you success because you have to take responsibility for yourself because people can't account for the possible mistakes that you could make ..having said that there's no reason to spread panic and fear monger with scary stories of bricking ...its not that difficult really..stop procrastinating and do it ..or don't ...but stop talking it to death in multiple posts

Huawei Honor 5X: KIW-L24 (US Region) But.......Phone Info=Model says KIW-AL10 Help?

Im nube compared to the experts but not totally. first off sorry if this is wrong posting section my eyes r tired for reading about the Honor 5X i want to smash with a hammer because it was cheap enough to do so....my inner geek says figure it out.
redirect me ADMINS to the right posting if i offend. i have a Honor 5x model KIW-L24.......says the box and laser etched into phone. my stock EMUI 4.0 says MODEL: KIW-AL10 (chinese model) obviously wrong hence why my dual sims will not work yada yada yada. Please who can remove the boulder thats been sitting on my head giving me an unimaginable migrainge for 2 days and give a young PETAWON guidence to reflash using totally stock recovery and rom back to what i should have installed factory so i can proceed from there. by the way im running 6.0.1 and emui 4.0. i have ADB /Fastboot installed on windows 10 pc. willing to brick this POS 5x if i cant be helped! thank you gents and ladies!
So this problem appeared after updating to emui 4.0 right ?
I think My whole problem started when i used TWRP Recovery to Flash something i shouldnt have. maybe i should just leave the phone as it is. give it to my kid, and move on. Im just totally frustrated with Huawei For not even allowing anyone the ability to register to the site and download an unlock code. ive been trying for days.

Is there are a risk of bricking my phone, when I update to nougat?

So I've been waiting for a couple of months to receive the new Nougat update for my Huawei P9 lite, and still nothing. I've been thinking about updating it through Firmware finder, but I really don't want to risk bricking my phone, since it's still not paid off.

Risk for bricking the phone is even on you make rebooting device...
Once you are here, i suppose you are assuming any risk...
That is happening here: experimenting, bricking, unbricking etc...

PSA: Don't downgrade from latest firmware versions (GPU Turbo)

I can only speak for MHA-Lx9C432, but on the latest build (B377) Huawei added the 02 switch in XLOADER. This will prevent you from downgrading using stock eRecovery/DLOAD, however, it will not prevent you from flashing firmware through NoCheck or TWRP...
DON'T DOWNGRADE PAST GPU TURBO FIRMWARE!
You will get a fancy brick if you do.
(You can downgrade to B377 from firmware released after this one, but not to firmware before B377)
The backdoor DC uses (hwdog) has been patched too.
This will probably be the case for any GPU Turbo firmware regardless of cust.

Please do not spread misinformation on the forum.
Your Mate 9 is "dead" because you tried to OTA .377 on a phone with TWRP, bootloader unlocked, which is something you never mention.
People with stock, bootloader-locked phones should have no issues.
Also, your credibility is kinda doubtful given that this is *not* the first time you messed up your phone and then you hook onto every single topic asking for help fixing your phone.
You ruined it - you fix it.

Your opinion and answer did not help, it's no good
Downgrade with G-Turbo is not possible,
as a result we receive a brick though I such included
It would be interesting if it would possible with HiSuite to Downgrade (if showing as option)
for those who want to downgrade..

It won't. You can't even use FH to downgrade.
Recovery checks and will not install any firmware if xloader is old (as in it has 00 byte where it's 02 on B377).
If you install using TWRP or NoCheck (HWOTA) this check is not made and it will continue installing which leads to a brick.

It will install fine as long as you flash a firmware with new bootloader, even with TWRP/NoCheck/Unlocked bootloader.

A possible root method

Hi everyone, I want to clarify one thing before saying the possible method, I had this device but now no longer because I had to lend it so I can't test it but when I read this method I immediately thought to see if it works on K10, if someone tries it and then it works, please tell them it could be useful to find a way to exploit the bootloader.
The guide is a root method for some MediaTek chipsets and the K10 one should be included.

My nothing ... the phone I lent it, having had the Xiaomi Mi A2 and being satisfied, I lent my K10 but wandering around for root exploits and bootloaders for the Meizu, I found this and thought, "Come on , let me share this guide in the K10 forum I could help people who haven't had the luck to switch phones but at least find exploits and put Android Pie on K10 "eeee, something happened, I read threads and I saw on the forums people who have successfully rooted, this will greatly help the exploit search for the K10 bootloader.
>Come on , let me share this guide in the K10 forum I could help people
That is what these forums are all about... most annoying thing is when
some first ask for help and then after receiving guidance just say "i figured
it out, this thread can be closed". WTF, come ooon... at least one should say
what helped if nothing else...
So, you have lent it. Still. it's probably nicer to have if it's fully functional, receiving updates, etc...
Mine has still Nougat in it. Haven't used it that much and there is some posts that the latest
updates makes it to drain the battery. But it might be because some mix these firmwares,
m250n into m250ds or whatever... IDK...

Same here...
But now forgive me if I go off-topic, a few months ago, around February, I bought the Xiaomi Mi A2, a whole other universe compared to the K10, the stock of the Mi A2 is not one of those poorly bugged but the custom roms have saved my phone from various problems, this means that if you manage to unlock the k10 FORSE bootloader the k10 MAY save the k10. Unfortunately I can't experiment, otherwise I'd be here to experiment.

Samsung Note 4 Sprint Android 6.0.1 no return 5.0

Hello....!
I am sorry for my bad English skills
I am using Samsung Note 4 Sprint Android 6.0.1.
It's very bad and doesn't have a fingerprint. I need to go back to an earlier version.
I've used "Odin" and "Z3X SamsungTool, COMBINATION". All failed.
I downloaded Firmware at website sammobile.com.
Please Help me...!
If you were on the n910PVP5DQ15 firmware then the sboot is fused5, binary 4 and can not be downgraded. That is most likely the reason you have a fail in Odin. The following links will provide further information and guidance. If you have questions ask then in this post, good luck

Well I hope you don't ruin it. lol The Note 4 is concerned by many as "the last develop friendly phone". The Last Spirit update (5DQ15) has made it not so friendly. Prior to loosing my phone, I was on Lollipop
4COK1 with the ultimate Note 5 hybrid (MORA) rom as my daily driver. I could flash back and forth form lollipop to Marshmallow and choose many different custom roms. However, I seldom used MM because I didnt like the layout of the OS. Hated the mock location that force an app and Google maps in Samsung settings (BIG TIME, Yea how moke is it if it connected to Google maps?). While on lollipop just set mock location and done. Furthermore, the permission settings in MM are scattered in different sections that not only adds completely in navigation but confusion as to what the F is this? All the while stating udate for you security. My security or there's? Well, no use crying over spilled milk as they say.
Being locked to 5DQ15 firmware was a new experience. Now years later, I found myself unfamiliar with the Note 4 5DQ15. The first thing I noticed was n910p xda forum was "where did everybody go" ?
