Huawei Honor 5X: KIW-L24 (US Region) But.......Phone Info=Model says KIW-AL10 Help? - Honor 5X Guides, News, & Discussion

Im nube compared to the experts but not totally. first off sorry if this is wrong posting section my eyes r tired for reading about the Honor 5X i want to smash with a hammer because it was cheap enough to do so....my inner geek says figure it out.
redirect me ADMINS to the right posting if i offend. i have a Honor 5x model KIW-L24.......says the box and laser etched into phone. my stock EMUI 4.0 says MODEL: KIW-AL10 (chinese model) obviously wrong hence why my dual sims will not work yada yada yada. Please who can remove the boulder thats been sitting on my head giving me an unimaginable migrainge for 2 days and give a young PETAWON guidence to reflash using totally stock recovery and rom back to what i should have installed factory so i can proceed from there. by the way im running 6.0.1 and emui 4.0. i have ADB /Fastboot installed on windows 10 pc. willing to brick this POS 5x if i cant be helped! thank you gents and ladies!

So this problem appeared after updating to emui 4.0 right ?

I think My whole problem started when i used TWRP Recovery to Flash something i shouldnt have. maybe i should just leave the phone as it is. give it to my kid, and move on. Im just totally frustrated with Huawei For not even allowing anyone the ability to register to the site and download an unlock code. ive been trying for days.

Rooting issue with mx4 pro meizu phone - exhausted all avenues need advice please

Good Evening
I have recently acquired a Meizu MX4 PRO from my father who buys lots of phones mainly from Ebay and Aliexpress (direct from China) - He has had this phone for quite some time but could never really do much with it because everything was in Chinese and the flyme account is registered to a completely random email address that none of us recognize. Anyhow over christmas he was telling me about it and I said that I would take a look and see what I could do as I have some knowledge of rooting, TWRP, flashing etc. After a good couple of days of trying different things I am none the wiser. I can't for the life of me root this little monkey!
I have tried the following KINGROOT APK, KINGROOT PC, ADB, TERMINAL COMMAND (little knowledge), since exhausting all avenues (I have lost track how many threads I have read) I thought XDA may be my last hope, or at least to find out if it's possible?
Is there anyway of rooting this phone without getting in to the flyme account? - it does sound a bit dodgy I suppose asking this, however it really does appear that a seller in china sold this phone without logging out of his\her account?
Specifications:
Model MX 4 PRO
Android Version 5.1.1
Build number Flyme 5.1.11.1A
Baseband version LTG_3.117.003
If its simply not possible then I will just give it back to my father and say its not possible to do anything with it.
Any help you can offer would be greatly received
Thanks for reading
Darren
Hi. I just bought one with a used flyme account (owner says nver create one....but has his name...probably just created it in the first run an doesn't remember...all in chinese xD) and rooted it easily with KingRoot (then all meizu apps went to hibernation...and no problems til now)
Try to downgrade or update to a beta and try again kingroot 4.8.1 and 4.9.5 did both the job on mine. (SuperSume not...)
You can flash the Chinese firmware with wiping the data first. When the flashing done, go to settings, format internal storage, then you can login your own account

Upgrading chinese Axon7 to Android Nougat OS

Hello! I live in the UK but I got an Axon 7 from a chinese reseller, I thought it was a good idea, I was especially looking forward to try daydream. However, I think I need Nougat for that (and some other things), which seems not to be available by normal updates. The current version says "ZTE_A2017V2.1.1B07", MiFavor 4.0.
From reddit, somebody pointed me to the chinese update from the axon7 website, which I am planning to install now. However, I was wondering whether there was any way to change my phone into something like a 2017G edition so that I could then install a non-chinese stock android version. Does what I have just written make any sense or I am not grasping something?
If you could even just link to the right thread or anything, I will it myself and make sure to understand it.
Thanks!

It does make sense, and it's a common thing to do. But a few words first:
OTA will definitely not work
You need to unlock the bootloader to do this, since you need TWRP to flash stuff
You should install A2017U firmware, or at least try both. A2017G's firmware is not very good... i have a G myself.
You have to keep the A2017 modem and install the system without changing it. I'm 99% sure that the only way to do this is using flashable system zips like the ones tron1 made.
And last, but not least... I might sound rude, but why don't you look over Guides, News and Discussions before asking? This way you get your answer instantly... I'm sure I've seen a guide on how to do this.
Hello, I have a Chinese zte axon 7 too. you need up update your b013. get the zip file place on an SD card in the root directory. from this the Android N updates will roll it.
welcome to the UK Chinese axon 7 club. let me know if you need anything else. I've had mine now for 6 months and it's a great phone.

[HELP] Huawei P9 Lite - Stuck on Test Keys - Bricked

Hello everyone! Thank you for clicking here. Anyways, here's my story :
Last year, my idiot dumbass decided to trust a forum that showed a really convincing tutorial on how to root the Huawei P9 Lite with double SD's (Won't give forum name, dont want drama..But yeah, it was one of those Indian "Tech Experts"). And yeah, blablabla did that and that and my phone got ****ed, basically it was stuck at "Launching your Phone now (!)" and it always got stuck at 5% on update or smth like that, couldnt get back in on it. Well, months after i saved some of my money to take it to a repair shop, i recieved it again today...They said that they searched alot to fix it and install a new update on it for it to work, or something like that.
So, i get back home, dandy'n' happy because i got my phone back..I go to enter the Wi-Fi password and what do i see? There is no keyboard...Only google voice activation thingy, i do some more research and go into settings and see this :
About Phone :
Model NR = Huawei VNS-L21
Build NR= NRD90M test-keys
EMUI: 5.0.1
Android version 7.0
I've been searching everywhere, all the tutorials..But i can barely understand what people are saying, i am not that tech savvy with phones...And i'm looking for some help please, a defined step-by-step so i don't brick my phone again.
Thx!
Lol , they installed the bad version on it.
You can try to rollback , but I can't help you because I never used the rollback method

Samsung Note 4 Sprint Android 6.0.1 no return 5.0

Hello....!
I am sorry for my bad English skills
I am using Samsung Note 4 Sprint Android 6.0.1.
It's very bad and doesn't have a fingerprint. I need to go back to an earlier version.
I've used "Odin" and "Z3X SamsungTool, COMBINATION". All failed.
I downloaded Firmware at website sammobile.com.
Please Help me...!
If you were on the n910PVP5DQ15 firmware then the sboot is fused5, binary 4 and can not be downgraded. That is most likely the reason you have a fail in Odin. The following links will provide further information and guidance. If you have questions ask then in this post, good luck

Well I hope you don't ruin it. lol The Note 4 is concerned by many as "the last develop friendly phone". The Last Spirit update (5DQ15) has made it not so friendly. Prior to loosing my phone, I was on Lollipop
4COK1 with the ultimate Note 5 hybrid (MORA) rom as my daily driver. I could flash back and forth form lollipop to Marshmallow and choose many different custom roms. However, I seldom used MM because I didnt like the layout of the OS. Hated the mock location that force an app and Google maps in Samsung settings (BIG TIME, Yea how moke is it if it connected to Google maps?). While on lollipop just set mock location and done. Furthermore, the permission settings in MM are scattered in different sections that not only adds completely in navigation but confusion as to what the F is this? All the while stating udate for you security. My security or there's? Well, no use crying over spilled milk as they say.
Being locked to 5DQ15 firmware was a new experience. Now years later, I found myself unfamiliar with the Note 4 5DQ15. The first thing I noticed was n910p xda forum was "where did everybody go" ? Next thing I noticed is all the bricked devices and fails in Odin when downgrading the 5DQ15. Thats when I decided the safest choice to begin with was the

I was very pleased it had completely with xposed firmware and models. Although its really a great rom, I still missed my old customizations in 5.0 roms.
Reading threw the forums at that time provided very little to go by and the information posted by members seemed to conflict. Some said you you can on 6.0 rom and others saying the opposite. All the while lioking to purchase another n910p with a lower bootloader which lead me to visual prof of custom roms on 6.0 are compatible (maybe). I still needed to flash to be 100% sure. I also felt like you "Its an inexpensive device and Im going to take a risk".

It is difficult to find someone with hobby of editing phone software.
Now just to be perfectly clean, I am in no way suggesting that anyone purchase a pre rooted device. Never

To all , You never know what has been installed hidden within the system when purchasing a pre-rooted phone.
If thats not enough, consider the developer of the rom that has put in all the work, cheated out of there donations.

Not that difficult to find someone with the skills to edit Android devices. I'll simply say XDA
You are using Z3E tool and Odin are you not? Well then why not buy a newer phone?

I could buy a new phone but the newer models of have locked bootloaders. (us versions).

Nokia 5 TA-1053, original 7.1.1, got TWRP Recovery adapted by Can Xin from Chinese 7to forum, but stuck now

hey there,
just a quick recap:
The phone is still on Android 7.1.1, I"ve got a script with ADB from 7to Forum through 4pda.to, got the custom TWRP working, but after getting root through flashing magisk, it got stuck on boot. After I got the official 7.1.1 zip, it is back on official recovery and I gave up... (Link to 4pda, which I got my inital files from - it is a link to google translate, so you could read, what it is all about
The forum here on xda-developers for Nokia 5 is really messed up and there is no real guide or any help which could help me out, I don"t know any valid source of official ROMs, there are no tools - nothing.
I planned to get on Android 9 with ROOT through MAGISK, so I"ve got a unlocked bootloader and wanted just update to Android 9, so I could install MAGISK through TWRP.
but none of that worked, I got only the unlocked Bootloader....
maybe someone could please help, I just don"t know where to start now - I have some knowledge about Android, because every single smartphone of mine got rooted (HTC EVO 3D, SAMSUNG S5, HTC MI8), as I love AdAway and Viper4Android, but this phone for a family member got me started..... This phone is brand new, never used, got it from the grandmother of my girlfriend, wanted to get it to work and give it to someone else in need of a smartphone, but I got stuck...
Thanks it advance
I've managed to update it to pie, with some obscure errors, but it works flawlessly, but I'm on 6.12 now, want to update it to 6.19, but it doesn't work through the recovery, but I'm on it.
Maybe I will write a little tutorial after all, for someone, who has also those problems like me - it is getting harder and harder to get things done on older devices...
