Does it do it if you manually turn off HDR in the camera app?

Personally, I always take photos and videos with the main camera app for best and full quality.

He's having problems with all apps that are NOT the camera app.

Yes I understood that, Hangouts and Snapchat I think don't use HDR, my theory is that there's a cracked solder joint on the main camera unit and with HDR turned on in the main camera app it is compensating for the lines.

Stock camera from SGS4 and HTC One Google edition - with working Photo Sphere

Source
Also boot animation and awesome live wallpaper.
Just tried the camera, everything works, including Photo Sphere. It gets hot! Haven't played with the settings, but i think stock XZ camera has better image quality.
Does it have the s4's camera interface or aosp interface?
Sent from my C6603
AOSP, it is a "Google edition" after all.
Does it have HDR?
How's the quality of the images compared to the stock camera?
Scene, white balance, exposure, panorama, photo sphere, video recording, front camera. All it has, pretty simple. The only thing it may be useful is photo sphere or if you like the interface. The stock gallery is also included.
about google cam .apk
first of all, many disadvantage:
no storage choice between internal and memory card, photo are stores in internal. no customizationz

Then don't use it. I haven't installed it myself, but the article says it runs alongside your current camera anyway, so you're losing nothing.
I'm sure quite a few people will install it just for the photosphere mode that Sony didn't include in their 4.2.2 camera in any case.

The 'Camera JB+' that costs £1.49 on the Play Store? I don't see how that pertains to you saying that the camera linked to by the OP has lots of problems.....

But this camera replaces the original one or i can use both of them?

I have been playing around with this camera app for a few hours now and aside from photosphere it is quite a poor app in comparison to the quality of photos it produces. I will still keep it installed as I will use photosphere occasionally. It can never replace Sony's app in my opinion.
Edit. Also volume key takes photos which could be useful.

What are you talking about? How does this have anything to do with what you originally posted and I replied to?
Please don't post any more nonsense about unrelated apps as I will not reply.

this is a really neat app in that it does photospheres and timelapse, it's not the same as the camera jb+ as that also has the video effects enabled..
Nothing wrong with having different tools, for different purposes
Been playing around with app.
Seems scene settings are slightly messed up and picture quality is not as good as stock camera. No HDR option. But photosphere works.
As for volume key for taking pics, there is a mod already that does that with our stock camera and even can quick launch the camera. (needs root)

indeed, quality of photosphere is good, but not as great as expected (not optimized for xperia Z)
no links?

Selfie quality

Current have the note 3 coming from nexus 6 due to a horrible front camera. Looking to purchase this phone how's the front cam. I use snapchat alot which is why the camera is my main focus.
It's very good, more like a rear camera. Sharp and large photos.
You should be good..my girl uses Snapchat and she loves the camera..
No complaints and she was coming from the HTC m8

I don't know if you guys used nexus 6 so it nothing compared to the 6. The front camera picture looked like there were from the 1980's all blury and pixeled.
I still have my nexus 6..my 6p won't be here till tomorrow and the 6p camera is leaps and bounds above my nexus 6.
It blows mine away
Selfie camera is awesome, but in my opinion it doesn't beat S6 edge's front cam. S6 edge has by far the best selfie camera I've ever seen on any phone.

have you got the 6p? If so is the front camera good and not blurry and pixelated ?
Selfies are great when I take them with my kids, especially when using HDR the noise is greatly reduced.
6P had great front camera for selfies...

Is there any noise in the photos on apps like snapchat or instagram? my v10 has that problem and if the 6p doesnt that would be the only reason to switch over lol

Camera samples?

I plan to buy this phone soon, but I'm curious about the camera quality.
Can someone upload camera samples with the original size and quality? Thanks!

I was a little disappointed at the zooming and quick snap pics. I took pictures of everything I was around yesterday. I'm coming from an iPhone 6s, so it's not apples to apples in my opinion.
Some reviewers are liking the camera, and some users are disappointed - perhaps we need some 3rd party DEV magic and come up with a great camera app, because, with the same sensor in this camera as the one in the Galaxy S7 we should be able to get some great results!
This video I recorded today was pretty much a dealbreaker. That was some pretty bad pixelation

This was on a Facebook upload. From experience something gets messed up when uploading to Facebook. I haven't had any issues like this when stored on my phone of through Google

To be fair, Facebook artifacts the heck out of videos so that is Facebook's fault not the camera.
Does facebook force the camera into the vertical position when filming?

Are you seriously trying to tell us that's from a Moto G5 Plus? That doesn't even look remotely similar to any videos I've taken.

These photos were taken on a recent business trip to Las Vegas. All my photos are set to backup to google photos then delete the device copy (no need to have multiple copies of the same photo). I have my google photos set to back up at the lower resolution. As you can tell...they are still pretty darn good for the price of the phone...and I am sure the originals would be even better at full resolution.

Why you shouldn't use the new panorama UI (gcam6.1)

Currently I am on vacation and used the new panorama function a lot.
Sadly when editing the images I noticed that they have a very low resolution compared to the "old" photo sphere modes.
So if you care for high amount of detail in your panoramas never ever use the new panorama UI.
It just creates VR shots.
Since I learned the hard way, by wasting my time and a lot of beautiful shots, I wanted others to be aware of that.
Kind regards,
Reawo

Wow. You're totally right! Super low resolution and there's no option to adjust like before. Hope they add a toggle or something to choose VR photo or Panorama.

I don't know about that. Regular pics look good to me and Max even points out some ever so slightly less grain in low light shots:

The Google Camera app is the same eversion for all Google phones. They'll probably update it in Play store when they release the phone
think he talked about the leaked APK on XDA article.
Enjoy the new camera app.

Just think of it as a continuous 30 fps burst.
With audio.
On the Pixel 2 the app crashes the instant you attempt to use the slider to manually change exposure.
have you checked out gcam repo? they have modded gcam apk's, there is a nearly fully working for the old htc 10, im sure newer phones have a better chance of finding one
