I dont think u can. U have to unlock your bootloader and then install a rom from xiaomi.eu which is basically a multi English rom with Google integration

Hey! first I apologize for my bad English. I use google translate.
I'm a new one when it comes to Xioami, and want to buy a Note 7 from the internet, but it's with the china rom, so I have to change it to the global rom.
I have read a lot about how to do it, but I am still afraid to do so, but if I write a summary of what I understood:
1- I have to unlock my mobile. (360 hours wait)
2- Download global room from this page! http://en.miui.com/a-234.html
3- The room must be "fastboot file"?
4- I enter global rom with "Mi flash"
5- Can I relock bootloader after that?

2. Download fastboot file rom
3. Must be fastboot file (file end with .tgz extract it use mi flash tool point to folder contain extracted files)
4. Yes
5. Don't do that if you want brick your phone
6. Yes if the flashing is suspended

You can buy directly a global rom version now, I see it in AliExpress.
It's more simple [emoji6]

I've heard that Xiaomi is been doing something to it's latest devices that doesn't let you relock the bootloader after changing from China ROM to Global ROM.
EDIT: Here's a link with all the info you might want: https://en.gizchina.it/2018/09/xiaomi-lista-modelli-brick-miui-global-china/

This risk is if you do not know what you are doing. At the end of the page there is a explanation how it will brick your device and how to prevent it. So i guess if you use twrp or miflash with "flash_all" only selected you are good to go.

Thanks for the source link. That's an interesting read and wasn't aware of this. I own some of those devices and could have sworn that I accidentally locked the bootloader on one of them and being forced to go through the unlock process (not because it was bricked, but because I wanted to test a different TWRP build).
However, I can't recall which phone that happened to. I own the Mi Mix 3, note 6 pro, note 5 pro, among others. I will look into this further.
Thanks again

but it only happens when the bootloader is relocked. I only see that limiting those who aren't rooting and using bypasses to bootloader detection (magisk).
and they still have to go through China's firewall, so they'll still be monitored.
this doesn't seem government related at all. seems to be another way for Xiaomi to attack resellers (similar to the bootloader unlock time limit)

By the way, is there diferent region P8 premiums?
I bought one in Portugal...is there any problem if, for example, the latest firmware version is available in Asia or Russia?

This is the official Marshmallow rom for the middle eastern region(C433), you will find the same download package for many countries like(Tunisia, Jordan, Algeria...). Not sure if the Russian rollback package from Marshmallow to Lollipop works for your region though in case you want to go back to Lollipop. Anyway Marshmallow is way better than Lollipop in my opinion.

I suggest you stay on the chinese rom you get updates faster that way than any other region, more stable but the down side is the missing google services as you mentioned. There isn't a tested method for our device model of doing this but there is an old method that worked for another Huawei device if you are brave enough to attempt it. http://www.carbontesla.com/2015/09/how-to-change-region-of-your-huawei-honor-4c-root/
Some ideas that might make this work in theory( This can break your phone, so do this at your own risk and don't forget to backup the original files and restore the default permissions when making changes):
1- Follow the link until procedure: step 2.
2-You can try step 3 or another way i guess you can try: Revert back to an old chinese Lollipop rom on you phone, then download an asian Lollipop rom(ex: Malaysia) extract from the rom the "OEM Info File" needed. Then on your phone go to "/dev/block/hi_mci.0/by-name/" notice the location of these files might be different in you rom but they are there you have to search for them though. After finding the location of the folder copy and replace the files form the Malaysian rom to your phone. After that try to install again the same Malaysian rom and see if it works but this may break your phone. If this works you can then proceed to download a Malaysian Marshmallow rom and install it.
Just wanted to give my 2 cents

I have the exact same phone, bought in Portugal too. You have to use the GRA-UL10C432Bxxx builds. This is the latest build available (Marshmallow)
http://www.carbontesla.com/2016/02/huawei-p8-ul00-b317-marshmallow-update-preview-europe/
I know the title says 'preview' but it is not. It is the stable version from Huawei, and the one i am currently using.

NXT L29CxxxBxxx VERSION CROSSFLASH *no root* DISCUSSION

Hi to all NXT-L29 owners.I have open this thread to discuss about crossflash between '''C'' versions of L29 models links with new updates in one place (full or partial) but only on completly stock situation, no root, no unlocked bootloader.
The versions we will talk about is:
L29C185
L29C432
L29C636
L29C900
My version is L29C636 and my curent rom is updated from B103 to B170, no with OTA but with full dload method
First questions that must be answer from owners(i will take as a sample my version C636:
1.If i update my ''C636'' version with exaclty the same "C636'' version NO OTA but with full rom ''dload'' method will i be able to revieve OTA updates in the future?
2.Can i update with ''dload'' method my ''C636'' with another "C432-C900-C185'' full version(with no root)? If yes what is going to be the results to my old C636 version? It will change to what ''C'' version? The global ''C900''?And ofcourse with no OTA?
3.If the above question is yes, when i crossflash from C636 to C432 do i have to find a spesific FULL C432 update to start with or any (the last one) FULL C432 update?
3.If all above can happen (from C636 update to C432 or whatever and my new ''C'' now is "C900''or what ever if i install back again the ''C636'' version(that was the version that i bought the phone) will it change ''C'' version back to normal(C636) to take OTA again?
L26C636B170 latest update with great battery, missing Huawei Health app & cloud, notiffication problem still exist.
http://update.hicloud.com:8180/TDS/data/files/p3/s15/G1076/g104/v43716/f1/full/update.zip
C185 is a african/middle east version
C432 is a european version
C636 is a asian version
C900 is a global version
The diferences is in the /cust
C185 use cust meanaf
C432 use cust eu
C636 use cust specseas
C900 include all cust
To view the cust of your mobile, you can entry in engineer mode *#*#2846579#*#* go to network information query, and later, pulse in vendor country info to display your cust.

I have a similar question... I do have this C636B103... but i'm thinking about flashing my phone to C900... BUT
1) What's the newest build? B???
2) How to flash it?
Thx for the help in advance..

The question here is can you from C636B103 flash a different coast like C900 without root?
If YES then the newest version for C900 is B170... This might be the newest from all "C" coast but the link for download is down for the moment.
If NO then the newest version for your version (C636) is the B170 that I have in first post but is older from C900B170 and doesn't solves the notifications problems

I haven't got either with all of them... I have problems with stock and 3d party mail app and only lockscreen notification, as all the rest of as that hasn't got the official update from Huawei that says about 'mails notification problems fixed".
If you make a test with stock mail app (leave phone with close screen without interruptions from SMS, calls, mails etc for more than 20 minutes and then send a mail from other source like PC) you will understand what I'm talking about....As for the settings this is the first think we all do... We have been Huawei's specialist technicials
To let everyone know....
I have just crossflash from L29V636B170 to L29C432B170 with simple dload method...everything goes very well and fast.
THE NEW CAST/VERSION IS FROM L29V636B170 TO L29C900B170 that means that you can flash C636 version with C432 but this will efect cast file so that you cant recieve OTA of C636 or C900 i suppose!!!
Lets see naw how the new rom can manage notifications!!!

Heard I have to deactivate Fastboot function from device's settings (here and there, but nowhere in the device's settings is such option.
Stuck right now it seems. If any of you have something worthwile to say please do so before I turn it into a shooting target

Well, FRP is other thing related with a locked data for Google from old owner when it is registered a new account.
That is a piece of junk I´m totally agree, I used just for 8 days aprox and got rid of it.
To enter to fastboot mode is an easy job, I don´t remember exactly if it prompt for a code to unlock bootloader cause is a device with mtk SoC.
Just enable in developer options OEM unlock and USB debug (if developer options is disabled type 7 times in build number in "about device" section) then connect your device to pc (download first a minimal adb and install it) from the adb folder open a terminal like admin and type "adb devices" to see if pc recognices it, then type "adb reboot bootloader" (a special pre-fastboot for locked devices) (be attentive that your device will ask for granted permissions) once you are in fastboot mode just type "fastboot oem unlock" (without quotes) and if it is doesn´t ask for code just confirm the unlock option with pwr up.
Although all said you don´t need unlock bootloader to flash custom recovery so you can flash it through SPFlashTool with your scatter.txt and after to flash it first you have to do is reboot to recovery before to reboot device to avoid that be overwritten; you can put Supersu.zip in your sdcard and then flash it if you want to root it.

Global Rom Is Now Available!

Global Rom is officialy out!
it turns out 9.6.4.0.OEDMIFD is a real global rom with a broken modem.
just update to newer releases that might fix the issue.
You cant just flash the global rom over an Antirollback rom as the global rom doesnt have Antirollback. (it will brick your device)
Guide to installing global rom on antirollback devices & installing global rom with fixed modem (for calls and internet) over china rom (no ARB): here
Download Links for Official Global Rom: here
Antirollback information: here
Thanks and have a great day!

Hello there people!
our lovely new Mi Max 3 is now available for purchase on many websites.
These websites sell you a "MULTILANGUAGE rom" or "Global Rom".
The version that they sell is 9.6.4.0.OEDMIFD
Unfortunately this rom is FAKE / Un-Official and is dangerous for your device!
Why? because to install this shady rom they need to unlock your bootloader unofficialy and install a rom which was not originaly designed for Mi Max 3! this rom bricks some partitions of your device and may cause a lot of issues later! Some say that this rom may cause damage to the ability to flash roms and more onto your device or to move to official rom / xiaomi.eu rom
THERE ISNT ANY OFFICIAL GLOBAL ROM AVAILABLE FOR MI MAX 3 YET!
I suggest not to buy the Mi Max 3 with a "MULTILANGUAGE rom" or "Global Rom". (Please notice that some people that have asked not to install the fake rom got their devices with the fake rom even though they asked!)
Be patient and wait for official global rom from en.miui.com
Have a great day!

I suggest flashing the latest china beta rom using fastboot mode
MAKE SURE THAT YOUR BOOTLOADER IS UNLOCKED

after that flash xiaomi.eu rom
tutorial: here
Why do you need to flash both the china beta rom and the xiaomi.eu rom?
The flashing of xiaomi.eu does not delete everything previously installed anyway?

Fastboot china rom will wipe all partitions and reinstall them.
Xiaomi.eu recovery rom only changes the SYSTEM partition, remember you are coming from a fake rom so you might not want to have broken partitions from the flashing of the fake rom.
My Max 3 comes with this so-called "Global" ROM.
I checked my bootloader and it says Unlocked. So yesterday I downloaded CN ROM and flashed it via fastboot.
Ok, I understand. "fastboot china rom" means it should only be installed through fastboot? or its also possible through custom recovery?

MAKE SURE THAT YOUR BOOTLOADER IS UNLOCKED BEFORE DOING THIS OR YOU WILL BRICK YOUR DEVICE
Fastboot roms are flashed through a special tool by xiaomi which can be found: here
You also might need adb drivers which are found: here
1. Open the drivers file and click "y" for every option that it asks for.
1. Install the fastboot tool tool
2. Download the fastboot rom that you wanna flash
3. Unzip the rom to a folder on your pc
4. Open the tool and in bottom right corner there will be 3 options, select "clean all"
5. Click on the "select" button on top left corner and head to the folder that you unziped, select it.
6. On your device enable "USB debugging", "install via USB", "USB Debugging (security settings)", and disable "verify apps over USB" (Developers options are enabled by going to "about phone" then spam clicking the "MIUI version" until it says that your are a developer. then go to "additional setting" and you will find "developer options")
7. Boot your device to fastboot mode by holding down the vol- + power key together until you see a bunny with fastboot sign.
8. Connect your device to your PC and click the "refresh" button on top right corner. (your phone should now appear in the list)
9. Click "flash" and wait until your device boots to the MI logo and 3 dots. (DONT DISCONNECT YOUR DEVICE BEFORE THAT!!!)
10. Wait for your device to boot up
11. Enjoy!
Hi, So if I buy with China ROM (Outside China - I live in Thailand) I can download and change to Global ROM once it's released?
China ROM will still get updates, though right?
Sorry for numpty question!
This is the ROM on my girlfriends Mi Max 3.
Thanks for the info but it would also be good if you posted up how to check if the bootloader is unlocked seeing how important it is before doing any steps.
Also you state that for the people to put on the fake ROM they had to unlock the bootloader in the first place so would they then relock the bootloader? Won't all phones with fake ROMs have unlocked bootloaders?

Thanks for the advice and I really appreciate your help but could you give some clearer step by step instructions as many people are not coming from a Xiaomi world. I come from Note4 and for me to install TWRP I do this using Odin but;
1) In simple step by step guide, how do you install TWRP on the Mi Max 3?
2). How do you unlock the bootloader - I go to https://en.miui.com/unlock/ and it starts in English then the next page is in Mandarin so not good to me.
These and other basics instructions are needed to be clearly detailed in a thread as there will be many people following me with the same questions/issues.

2. You need to create a mi account on global forums and then use them to apply, assign the account to your phone in developer settings and unlock your phone after you got perms. search for a vid on how to unlock the bootloader on xiaomi devices on YT for a better guide.

Excellent, thanks that is much clearer.
I checked this video on youtube for checking 'locked bootloader' and also how to unlock.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zL2omn9PGc4
I did not need to unlock becasue as I rightly guessed the bootloader is still unlocked. (pic attached). This is on both the Mi Max 3's that I have.
So I'll just start the process of flashing the Chinese ROM (to make sure of partition integrity) via Fastboot and then installing TWRP, and then flash the Xiaomi.eu ROM.
OK omer919, thanks to you I have flashed the Chinese MUI10 Fastboot ROM.
Unfortunately the link to the TWRP instructions is not good at the moment as the TWRP link in that thread is not working and the thread is now closed.
Do you (or anyone else) have a working link to TWRP for Mi Max 3 so I can install the Xiaomi.eu ROM?

VNS-L21 Telenor hu stock Android

Hi, all.
I found my old P9 lite, which i want to mod just for the heck of it. Sadly the EMUI version of it is stuck on 4.1.3 with no way to upgrade it. I recall there being a website that hosts the stock roms but it's down (it's under the cloud.huawei domain iirc)
Does anybody in the forums have a copy of the stock firmware with perhaps an update?

Your FW is incomplete or incompatible, C128 is regional variant of Telenor HU.
Try to install this {Mod edit}. Instructions can be found in ReleaseDoc folder.
Then, unlock the bootloader and rebrand your phone to C432 eu version. With C432 you have a real chance to upgrade to Nougat.

First of all, you must have the correct build number (i.e. the correct FW in the phone). With the C900 region you won't get the bootloader unlock code using DC-Unlocker (maybe with the PotatoNV method, I don't know).

That's fair and I certainly acknowledge your dilemma especially as you're known to me as an always helpful member with a mindset that reflects XDA's spirit. But you also find criteria for not accepted links in rules no. 11 and 13 even if they were the only source.

Okay, try this way out:
- install TWRP 3.0.2.0
- 1. google how "HuRupdater" is used
2. Download HuRUpdater
http://www.mediafire.com/file/r14sor2g4cbugzw/HuRUpdater_0.4.zip
- Download 3 .zip files VNS-L21C432B391
https://mega.nz/file/YpV1jCxS#fcKQJiasn4mQKjeW9AUeSLcSvI7at01N6ReJh6BRhCM

https://mega.nz/file/gkUFHQwA#O0Xi32sWEW6R9Z0RMU7AsPmEwcvsxZOmLbWmwu39JB0
Create a new folder, put the VNS firmware (3 files) and HuRUpdater-0.4.zip at that folder. Copy this new folder to SD card.
6. In TWRP flash the folder (tap on HuRupdater_0.4.zip and swipe).
7. Follow instruction on the screen (!)
8. Factory reset in stock recovery.
