Standby drain - Samsung Galaxy A50 Real Life Review

When you sleep, does your phone sleep, or does it stay up all night and crunch 1s and 0s? Rate this thread to express how you deem the speed at which the Samsung Galaxy A50's battery drains under standby conditions. A higher rating indicates that when the phone is not in use, the battery drains minimally.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!

Unless your device has been under the Singapore sun all this while, it doesn't seem normal. Using the log from Battery Monitor Widget Pro, I see that my Tab can go up to 39⁰C when charging from AC. And while it might go as high as 37⁰C under more intensive use, it usually goes only to 33⁰C or so. And it stays 26/27⁰C in idle (in air-conditioning) or 30/31⁰C outside. Might want to check if there are intensive processes running in the background.
okie thanks alot it improve significantly after killing off those apps running in background.

Yes, my battery now drains even after a night in airplane mode. Hope this will get fixed soon...
No change. Exactly the same 2-3% per day when in standby with WIFI always on.

After first install battery drained fast. Charged overnight and wiped battery stats while on AC. Now drains 2-3% in 10 hours standby with WiFi on.
Exactly the same for me too, I suppose it was going faster initially, as it's like having a new toy again and I didn't want to put it down. But now, it's as it was on Honeycomb.

For exemple in cwm: reboot to recovery --> Advanced --> wipe battery. Or use an app like BatteryCalibration.

you can do it much easier... just unplug charger and android OS will reset this file for you.
Deleting this file will do nothing it terms prolonging battery life...

So I let my tab to discharge completely, then I recharge it and unplug the charger?

Where does it say to let your tab discharge completely?
My battery after the update runs out faster then on honeycomb. I fully discharged and charged the battery again but it didn't seem to work.

I was asking, did you notice the question mark?
The answer is: No need for discharge.

4.04 battery drain faster than 3.2 with my 7500. After checking with Cpuspy, it always stays at 261MHz, can't get in deep sleep. Any idea?

ICS has definitely been a battery whore to my 7510...Battery life so far was best with the CM10 ROM

Hi guys, I found out what could be the problem. I installed CPU Spy, charged full the tab and let it over the night (airplane on, wifi off). battery dropper down 11% for 10 hours. BUT, when I looked in battery setting, it showed me that gallery was using 33% of the battery !!!
So gallery is not the problem, it's the new google+ app which is set up to instant upload photos, so I think gallery is trying to upload photos or sync but it could not. I turn the instant upload off, so now I will see if this is the problem, otherwise I will uninstall the stupid google+ app.
So give it a try if you want...

You probably have a battery drain. Try this: charge your battery till 100% before you go to sleep, leave it in standby over night and see how much power you loose. My 9005 goes from 100% to 96% in 9 hours of standby, which is pretty good. If yours loses much more, you probably have an app keeping your phone awake. A first check would be the location tracking settings in Google maps. Switch location report and location history off. They are famous battery drainers.

Wifi. I was pleasantly surprised myself I didn't try heavy screen usage yet, but with normal use including telephone calls, navigation, note taking etc. I get through the day easily without extra charging. A normal day for me lasts from 7:00 till midnight, with 30% battery left at the end of the day.

Sorry, probably I was not helpful. Just saying I am running an SG3 on CM and that is exactly what my battery usage looks like, I hope you get it fixed an d I hope it is not indicative of the SGN3 that I'm getting my hands on tomorrow. Cheers.
Not to rub it in, just to show you that a good battery life ís in fact possible: on 4G/LTE the battery power went from 100% to 98% in 2,5 hrs.

All reviews I've read online have said that it'll last the day easily which is all I need. Extreme Power Saving Mode is a handy feature too.
Off the battery at 7AM EMT, so far at 94% with GPS and wifi on. Doing well! I wish I could check on screen time though...
EDIT:
As of this post, it is 9:27AM right now.

Use Gsam battery monitor to check on screen time.
I forgot I purchased that a while back. Thanks! Hopefully I don't need the root companion to it..

Phone was just released yesterday. As with all other battery powered devices, give it a few days and break it in. That's when you see just how good or bad it really is. One day later does not give you a definitive answer.
