Cell Standby drains battery

Hey guys,
Had my phone fully charged last night, went to bed, and 7 hours later the battery was at 19%. Quick check on what's using the battery revealed Cell Standby was the major power factor, using 60-some% of the battery.
Any one else experiencing this issue? The X10 is rooted, Android 2.3.3 installed.

Too much updating/synching going on maybe
Try increasing the time between sync on you running apps( weather, facebook, email, etc)

How is your phone reception/signal?
Cell standby usage is high for me as well, but that is due to the poor signal at my house.
The poor signal will drain your battery
Signal is good.
The syncing hasn't changed. mostly battery lasts for quite a while. I think it may be caused by the Facebook app.

Install CPUSpy, leave the device for a while and see if there is derp sleep.

Battery drain with 3g on terrible

Hi guys,
Is anyone else get terrible battery life with 3g and data on even on standby? I believe the phone function drains the battery and it lasts only 2 days or so on standby. I constantly have the tab on flight mode with wifi enabled and battery is much improved to about 1 week standby. Anyone else? I am on stock 4.0.4.
Thanks
Wtf r this guy even serious? I wish i had 1 day standby, what a joke

Hi Iong. We are talking about a tablet here, not a phone. Tablets should have 1 week standby at least. The battery drain with 3g and phone on is unacceptable. I think the reason is the connection to phone signal which is constant.
Mate 1 day pr 2 day standby is a lot, given the fact you install many program and it constantly connect to tinternet to check for updates notifs etx. You dont have 1 week standby whatsover, forget it. Big tablet big baterry big screen. Ot all goes scaling together

So 'l2_hsic' and 'batt_work wake lock' are the 2 processes keeping my table awake for 5 hours in total since yesterday. Any idea of what these do?
Thanks

most likely is that one or more of your apps is causing the problem. try a reset and see if the problem goes away. if it does, install apps one by and and check which one is the problem
Use juice defender ultimate in tablet mode. I can go several days idle time and lose almost no battery.

may be change firmware?

i9505 draining too much battery on 4G

Hi guys. My Galaxy S4 is draining too much battery when 4G is enabled.
It runs warm 100% of the time and it drains 10% every hour on idle and even more when I start using it.
Once I disable 4G and let it only on 3G the phone goes back to normal temperature.
It drains only 0.5% every hour on idle and lasts for a day with 4h 30min screen time. I can't do that with 4G enabled.
I tried stock ROM, Cyanogen, Google Edition. They all have the same problem.
I would really like to enjoy my 4G 100% of the time but at this rate it's impossible.
Does anyone have the same problem or is it a hardware fault?
Thanks in advance for the help;

My 4G signal is very strong most of the times and I get 80mbps of download easily.
I just wish I could use it without draining too much battery.
Actually, what bothers me the most is that it drains a lot when idle which it shouldn't.
Do you have sync on? if u have a lot of apps syncing maybe that can happen ... tbh even on wifi with sync on u get increased battery drain evenwith just google apps syncing let alone in 4g which is already power consuming as it seems ...
Had the same problem in Germany. It's caused by 4G, fallbacks to 2G if you call somebody and by the search for other cells by the Galaxy S4. I also switched to 3G and have an awesome battery time.

My experience is quite the opposite. With 4g on, standby time is amazing. 1% in 2-3 hours. Same as with the S3 4g which I use as a second phone.
Before I got a 4g phone I was really worried because I read that 4g uses more battery than 3g, but for me had been the opposite.
Maybe try a factory reset or flash another rom. 10% is way too much.

Using Ripper rom + Perseus kernel on the S3 4g and stock but rooted and some mods on the S4. Signal strength also plays a big part but still, 10% an hour is too much.

very bad standby time ..

Hi i'm loosing about 4% in 5hours in standby .. is that normal ? My signal is very good ! i'm using only whatsapp and some games.. Sync is disabled , location too .. I don't understand why i loose like 1% every hour ... my phone was litteraly on my desk and didn't move !
1% battery drain in 1 hour.. I think it's okay..
It's perfect. What do you expect from a quad processor and a lot of sensors? That's about 100 hours or 4 days of stand by time. It's really ok, you have no reason to worry. Enjoy your Smart-phone!

With my nexus 5 everything stock which has a bad reputation with battery life, standby time was something like 0.33% for 1 hours ! (same configuration as my S5, sync off/location off/almost same app) i was loosing 2-3% over night.. that's why i'm worried

Screen on time is a huge difference though. I had a Nexus 5 too.
