Hy to all ! I have a problem with my A50, about 2 moths ago I bought 2 A50, one for me , one for my wife, all good, i updated both to may firmwire OTA, but 2 weeks ago I change the way I was charging it, from fast to normal when I realized that it took a long time to charge so I swith it to fast charging. Today I put both phones in charge, mine was at 59 % and the other one at 49. After about one hour, when I checked, mine was 94 % and the other one was full. So how can I fix the charge to be normal again ?

If i understand you correctly
This is not a problem i think
Its normal and charging speed depends on background apps you may have on your phone

Not convincing, if i turn off mine, I bet it will charge slowly then my wife with 3G on and 5 apps in background, so another oppinion ?

Have you checked so that you still have fast charge enabled in device care/battery/settings?

Come on ...I'm not a kid, sure its enabled !

I never said you were and well, you did ask for suggestions on how to fix it. It was just a thought.

Charging speeds are great as it smartly slows down charging while using to reduce heat and charges in fast pace while idle. It has an option in settings of phone to opt fast charging or not.

Hi people... i think that Samsung has got a little of troubles of making batteries and charging philosophies.
I has got two devices that are the last technology from samsung, the nexus s and the galaxy s2 right now.
The nexus s has got a very strange trouble (until now not fixed) that battery never reach full 100% state in charging. And much very very long charging time.
The Galaxy S2 reach 100% but takes too much time to charge. It's possibile that never one has think about modifying this?
Where we can start to mod this ? Inside the kernel? Inside bootloader?
I think it's not only a mine trouble
i think its the battery charger not the phone, which makes it so slow

Mine finishes very quickly. about 1-2 hours when it's at 25 percent. And you cant fix charging. Remember that it is a big battery.
Ever tried using an adaptor for a device that has a lower rating than the adaptor? Ever heard that pop and the smell that follows?
Learn to be patient. Last thing you need is for the battery to blow up and destroy your phone.
protip: turn off your phone while you're charging with AC and not USB.
it could be your USB (and by extension, your PC) is not providing enough power to the USB ports. It happens.
My phone charges in 4 hours with AC when the phone is off. 5 when on.
6 hours on USB, phone off. 8 phone on.
It can be "fixed" in the kernel.
Samsung made it charge slower so that it charges better.
Faster charging = more heat = more dissipation, and potentially other problems.
Even though its a safety feature, its ridiculously slow. Phones takes AGES for a full charge.
these new phone are strange
my old i8910 HD charges full in like 30 min
and stays without a charge for 3+ days
Mine charges slower than htc but no too slow.. I'd say 2.5 hours full charge

too much slowly. I prefer changing battery every 2 years but have a more speedy charging, specially when i'm in middle of day (usually i charge it in the night, but sometimes can't last the entire day)

Do you guys not get more than 3-4 hours of sleep?
Do you guys exhaust the battery to the point where the phone turns itself off before plugging it in?
Can you not plug your phone in before you go to bed?
I always plug my phone in before I go to bed (usually with 10-20% remaining) and I don't remember a time where I wake up in the morning and the phone isn't 100%.
I'm not trying to be cynical...just curious what other people's routines are when 3-4 hours to charge a phone becomes an issue.
A complaint like this wouldn't even cross my mind.
I need a faster charge too. Not because I'm impatient but because the phone can use more current then it can charge, especially during car navigation.

Well, the issue here is obvioisly not when sleeping (and yes I slept 3 hrs last noght and got a full charge...bit when on car or @ work, lunch time etc...those little precious weird moments u get in a daily basis when u arent using ur phone and got a charger at hand....maybe it would be possible to make an app which would allow toggling fast charging or slow charging, that way we could have both....fast ( on the run) and slow (night) modes....that would be really nice......but wait....winmo had this remember?

Battery drains when playing games while charging

Does anyone have this issue? I got an RMA and its awesome nothing wrong with it. But i noticed that it doesnt seem to charge as fast as the old nexus i returned according to a battery moniter that monitors the mA going into it. My old nexus charged in about 3 hours from dead even while using the phone except when gaming and this one seems to take closer to 4 hours or longer depending on what im doing and when gaming even on none intensive games it charges very slow and sometimes loses charge. I dont remember experiencing this on my old phone Could this be the phone or the charger? or is this normal? Any insight would be helpful thanks!

I use the original LG charger and the battery is full in about 2 hours, and yes with extensive gaming you can use more power than the charger can add. Gaming and charging at the same time will heat up the device pretty much also, that may not be such a good idea. So i guess its not the phone, its the user in this case.

Are you using the phone while you get that quick a charge and from 0? And dont say its a "user issue" im on francokernel M2 and undervolted and lower thermal threshold so my phone and its at a lower maximum clock speed 1.2ghz so it doesnt overheat plus i dont game extensively when i charge it i just happen to want to game for like 10-30 mins when its charging thats it and it still goes up and down in mA while charging and i think it is pretty consistent (I dont check everytime though) And that still doesnt remdy or help me see if its normal that my phone takes quite a long time to charge when using normally (it seems to charge at higher mA's when its closer to empty and when it gets closer to full the mA's drop)
Any more people care to throw in there experiences charging on how long it takes and if they lose and gaing charge while gaming

2 HOURS .. WTF ... U rooted ?
Mine takes 3.5 hrs since day 1
Out of 24 hours in a day.. It takes 3.5 HRS in charging. Which leaves 20.5 HRS of usage in a day only.
What's with different charging times with all N4s?

How long does your s8 take to charge full from around 5%?

I have the feeling my s8 doesnt really fast recharge even if it's enabled (i'm on 2nd charge now)... how long does it usually take you guys to charge it full when its very low, around 5%? And how long does it say it takes on the notification? Thanks!
About 1h50 or something with normal charge, not fast charge.

Mine definately took longer to charge than that the 2nd time (the first one i was asleep so i dont know) and with fast charge. Does it matter which side you plug in the cable or it's the same? I'm getting worried.
The side of the cable does not matter. I normally charge my phone when it's about 15% and with normal charge it takes around 1h40. Next time I charge it around 5% I will check but I think it's about 1h50 to 2h. My S7 was definitely faster in charging.
Takes about 90 minutes with fast charge
Around an hour and 20-30 minutes, a bit slower when I'm using wireless fast charging.
Did you notice a substantial difference between normal charge and fast charge? Lat time I checked it was about 10 minutes difference until full charge. I expected more, it was much better on the S7.
I think that fast charging got capped by samsung after all the note 7 exploding battery horror stories. And it got capped at 2.45amp fast wired charging and around 1.35 with fast wireless charging since the nougat update on the galaxy s7. when it was around 2.8 fast wired and 1.8 fast wireless charging on MM
Beside the charging rate cap, the fone is much cooler while fast charging now as it used to get crazy hot reaching temps above 42c while now it never gets over 36.smthing.
So while its slower i guess its a much better bet for the battery health and your safety.
Normal wired charging didnt change between MM and nougat and its around 1.7~1.8amp
These are my findings using the s7 and s8 exynos international versions and the statments above are purely my own opinion and experience which could be different for everyone.
I noticed that mine never goes over 1060ma while charging using Ampere. It takes about 1 hour 40 minutes to "fast charge" but it is cooler than any other phone I've ever had while charging.
The sad thing is that it REALLY takes longer if you are using the phone, like barely increasing its %. I even tried changing cables, chargers and places but now I know I'm not alone and this is how it works.
I have an Exynos.

IMO ampere is crap and slow to report, you need an app that can report as fast as cpufloat. As once you turn on the screen the charging rate will default to ~1amp regardless of the charging mode your using and thats when ampere starts to measure.
Use cpu float for info at glance
Or
Use accubattery to even help you distnguish which charging cables your using gives you the best charging rate.
Hope this helps

Back when I had my Galaxy S4 I used "CurrentWidget: Battery" which was really nice but is not working anymore so I installed Ampere.
I just tried both apps you mentioned and both gave me the 1050am right away. I'll try later on since I was at 90% and if I remember thats the point where it starts to throttle down the current.
I like the AccuBattery 80% cycle though, not sure I can really use it since I prefer to go with a full battery for the entire day.
Thank you!
Mine takes around 1hr 30 mins , The other night i turned fast charge off as i was going to leave it charge throughout the night but i actually forgot i had turned it off and had been charging for a few days with fast charge off..... surprisingly i noticed no difference! It still took around the same time to charge haha

You hit it on the nose. They slowed it to avoid the whole exploding battery problems just to play it safe. Also why they didn't cram a bigger battery inside it to keep heat down.
They lost a lot of money because of that. The only thing that really saved them was that some iPhones were blowing up too

Bear in mind that the charging rate will default to 1050ma whenever the screen is turned on no matter what charging mode your using.
To use my method in cpufloat app, open the app n keep it floating on your screen. Turn of the screen for awhile ( lets say 5 seconds) and n turn the screen back on. You will have a split second to read the current before it updates to the 1050ma. ( you can slow the update rate in the app settings btw.
Accubattery will have 2 readings, charging rate when screen on, charging rate with screen off.

Yup, I noticed that, thanks!
Accbattery showed me a maximum of 1156ma obviously it was charging with the screen off. From there my test starts since this charge was done using a multi-usb charger and had something else charging and wasn't using the original cable. We will see
Thanks once again!

What other difference you want?
The charging issues on the Galaxy S8 seem to be widespread. I was hoping the most recent software update would help resolve these issues but it hasn't. Extremely slow charging (71% charged, 3 hrs 17 mins to 100%) and random connectivity (wireless charging paused) with Samsung's OEM wireless charger. What I've found with respect to the wireless issue, if I leave the phone on the charging pad after a few minutes it will eventually engage to a slow charge mode. Direct charging with the Samsung 2.0 Adaptive makes no difference, still a very slow charge. The normal Fast Charge Notification which should appear at the bottom of the display has never appeared and the tab remains grey in the Advanced Battery Settings even when enabled. Prior to purchasing the phone I had read and was advised by a Samsung tech the phone was suited to accept Qualcomm's 4+ Quick Charge. That seems unlikely at this point. Just got off a live chat with Samsung Support, not surprising the tech offered no solutions which I hadn't already experimented with. Booting up in Safe Mode to see if the app(s) were the problem, clearing system cache, app cache, using a variety of adaptives and cables, updating software, checking the C jack for connectivity. The S7 Edge I had previous to the S8+ was a great phone, no problems whatsoever. I honestly feel that Samsung is dragging their feet and haven't yet gotten their hands around these issues. Seriously, do they really want to experience another wide ranging battery concern? I think not. I can get a refund or replace the S8+ (SM-G955FD) but I'm wondering if the problems may be so widespread it could easily be an issue with the replacement phone. From the research I've done these issues are popping up on all models, regardless of the manufactures location.

Fast As The Flash (or Superman)
This was 24-100% in 70 minutes. If this is not fast i don't know what is. :silly:
I got 5% to 100% in 1 hour when phone is turned off.
Really fast, from 5 to 100% in 1 hour for a battery that lasts 1.5 days with normal usage.
0 to 90 in less that 1 Hr and full charge in ~ 70 min
my mate 10 pro can last about 8 hours of usage

I bought my mate 10 Pro last week. And since the very beginning, I've started to notice that while connecting for charging (original fast charger and cable). the phone drops out of supercharging quiet often. Though the charging starts off with logo and animation suggestive of supercharging, after a while (within 5 minutes) icon changes to normal charging.
This happens at least once in four times I connect for charging.
These are the different scenarios I tested when I notice that phone shifts into normal charging:
1. I remove and reconnect the charging cable: resulting in supercharging, this may or may not fail.. often continues in supercharging.
2. I just switch the plug power off and on: usually goes into supercharging.
From the above scenarios, I'm not able to pinpoint where the issue is. Did anyone face the same issue?
Should I take the phone for a replacement or is this common for all supercharging phones.
that animation is just for startup of supercharge. switch to magazine style unlock and check if there is supercharging text above clock on lockscreen. it usualy charges fast till about 80-90% and then slows. anyway if your phone is charged from 5-100 in about 1hr 20mins its ok. you can always order voltage and current meter for usbc and check.

i checked the lockscreen as u suggested. If shows just "charging" not supercharging like usual.
i havent used any other charger or cable.. should i ignore this or should i take it for service?
If u charge 0-100% in 80min he could write Santa Clause charging for all I care
But rarely use Supercharger....i never manage to empty battery before sleeping so I connect it to regular QC3.0 charger which charges slower, 2A tops....
extraordinary

There is no kernel for honor 9 lite yet
honor 9 lite 2 weeks old, working fine, night before last it showed a notification message 'Battery temp. too low, functionality of phone may be affected'.
Since then it has rebooted, reset and all totally wiped back to factory reset, however now the phone when I plug into charge past 2%
Any ideas please, 2% charge is limited to what I can do within the phone and wont stay on long enough when connected to laptop through USB.
Saw someone mention the battery calibration etc, can anyone help please?

Charging speed for this device is not very good. It's frustrating to wait the device to get fully charged. Do not ON mobile network, it's will get even slower.
