I agree a trillion times with the bugs part bhai.

There is nothing exciting to look forward to the Pie update for Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 .
No Pie gestures, no Pie features.... Just a pie skin. Don't expect much upgrade and keep high hopes. You will be disappointed.

Well, since Lenovo tookover Moto, they have been the same as well, Stock android with lazy updates. When Asus announced this device, I thought they would be serious with midrange phones, but alas, same old Asus. Fake promises, Lazy updates, poor customer service.

There's no confirmed date so far. However, here's a listing that indicates that the Asus Zenfone Max M1 Pro won't be updated to pie anytime soon.

A pie beta program is released. You need to sign up.

We should get a CM 12S ROM via OTA. The newly announced ROM is for places like India where cyanogen and oneplus have have been having issues with agreements. It will most likely be available for all for download though.
Good cause a big reason I bought this phone was to have cyanogen as stock ROM.
We can probably stick with whatever ROM you're using and you'll get OTA for it. But if you're already on CM and want to switch, I assume you'll need to flash OP's ROM before you can get OTA from them. I don't think there will be a CM -> OP ROM migration path.

Definitely not.
Let's see if they do what they say.
They've leaked some screenshots of OxygenOS, nothing too exciting--just the app drawer and weather app.

If that screenshots are real and that will be the official OxygenOS appearence, i will bet all in CM12s. At first looks, it's ugly IMO.

Can't really tell that much from the pics to be honest. Im guessing you could probably use nova and an icon pack if things dont look that nice. Plus in the pics it looks like the hardware buttons are being used, would like to see the dock and nav buttons. Will probably being going with the one in the video below anyway this, guessing that this is CM12S as it looks a lot more like stock 5.0.

Asus Zenfone2 M timeline

The timeline is out on zentalk app saying M should be available in Q2 2016. It also says that ZenUI will replace some of their default apps by google ones and that there will be monthly security updates. I cannot post the link because this is my first post and the rules don't allow me do to so.

Two years of scheduled automatic monthly Android M security and software updates.

I think so. And it's logical for Asus as our device is over the 18 months window soon after we receive M.

The majority of people upgrade their phones on the average of 2 1/2 years and the companies know this.. And even if asus let's go of the official support for Zen 2 doesn't mean the end of development for it.. As it already has a great deal of supporting developers and their love... Which isn't something that even all flagships can boast.. So.. Don't fret.. And simply enjoy this magnificent phone as long as you own it!
Q2 ???
I will not taste M as i'm gonna turn to mi5
This is awesome news...I can now rest easy ...I wasn't a big fan of ZenUI, i liked the swipe down from anywhere to bring down the notification panel but that was about it. CM13 is awesome i'm sticking to it until the official release date.
Fantastic, happy to hear that official news is out now and I look forward to the image release in Q2. The 2 years of security updates is, quite frankly, spectacular for our devices. Even if we don't get any other OS-level updates, that means anyone who owns it can rest easy to not be long suffering if another stagefright-style issue is discovered or, worse, be forced to buy a new phone to get over those issues.
Good on ya, ASUS. And good call on getting the Google Now launcher to replace ZenUI launcher.
Waiting for that moment....
" Android M is Rolled Out for Zenfone 2 " ...
Thank You for the Gre8 News... :highfive:
That company ridiculous to release an update. We have arrived in the market losing customers. I do not recommend this company to anyone.
Hey, I am happy with what I currently have on my ZF2 so getting the solid news about M is just icing on the cake for me.
I just don't understand all the hating and dissing of Asus, though. The ZF2 is not a top tier phone and we all knew that going it. It is a definite "bang for your buck" piece of fondleslab but it ain't a S7 Edge. For what it cost the ZF2 has been an awesome phone to me and I am one who usually starts shopping for my next one three months after getting a new one, but I have had mine since the US release and am still great with it. When I do decide to move on my wife and her mother will have to duke it out over who gets my ZF2.
It's good to have the Stock ROM but I'm happy with my CM13.
I love how people complain that they bought a $200 or $300 device and are pissed that there budget device doesnt get the updates at the same speed as someone elses $700 device. im happy with this device, and even if this device never sees 6.0 i will still recommend this device to anyone cause its STILL the best device for money even without 6.0.
The new update will be Marshmallow 6.0 or 6.0.1?

Great news. Getting rid of three ASUS apps in favour of their google counterparts is good. Although why stop at three? Browser, contacts, calculator and dialer should join them imo. They definitely shouldn't duplicate the ones that currently have both (mail, browser and music). Getting swipe to google now into their launcher is also great - this is the main good thing about the otherwise overly simple stock google launcher. Hopefully the end result is a launcher that takes the best of both and looks a bit more stock material design than it does currently.
And the 64Bit kernel src too

So, no idea when there will be official release, but it seems stable. It is very similar to the P10's firmware at this point.
Update: The chinese version includes Google Play Services out of the box. Interesting.
Then Huawei's statement about "Phones on EMUI 5.0 won't be getting 5.1" is utter bull****? Nice going there Huawei! >< Are there any changes in the Camera App, enabling the Pro Video mode? Would you mind seeing how it does the GPS, with Galileo as well? Does it see more, then 1 EU satellite?

Thanks, work with that German fella from the GPS thread to log the output and see if it's changed. To test the camera, well try zooming 1.1x and see if the quality and sharpness improves. Was a 'bug' on some firmwares.
any idea when is going to be available for the chinese version non rooted?
Do you know if it will include Android 7.1.2 for final release??
i was comparing emui 5.1 to my mate 9 pro emui 5.0 and i don't really see any visual differences. even the new gestures on one hand ui is already in emui 5.0.

Yes, I am specifically looking to have the ability of
Hiding apps,
Removing the navigation bar when using the navigation circle,
Double tap when driving,
Customisation,
Better Dock and home screen,
and Softtouch
as this gem is capable of all of them. Otherwise for a few "Bugs fixed" and "Security patches" wouldn't wanna see another 1GB of storage and memory wasted.
Plus the Chinese version has a different story and nothing to do with the international version. That is why it matters.

Honor beta testers recruitment for Nougat and Above- official form India only

Hi Folks,
Sharing the good news about the honor beta testers recruitment. Got this Google form for the same through trusted channels and is prepared by our fellow member Abhishek @amulbaby on XDA. A big thanks to him in putting his efforts in preparing this form.
Did someone just say EMUI 6.0 :fingers-crossed:

Form includes below devices so wish we get for all of them, at least future Nougat bug fix updates and security updates if not Oreo.
Honor 5C
Honor 6X
Honor 8
Honor 8 Lite
Honor 8 Smart
Honor 8 Pro
Fill out the form and Enjoy.

Even though limited to India but as India variant may get the update, we can wish others will get as well.
So others can fill as well, it wont harm anything
rip india only.... but atleast they will port it then to other variants also 5c is in list so it will most likely get it right? also lastest 5c update kinda make apps unstable, randomly just shuts down like once in a week.... not big issue but if you do banking and stuff its kinda annoying....

Oreo update confirmed by Honor CEO

In an interview with Honor CEO, George Zao, he confirms which devices will be receiving the Oreo update, including the Honor 8.
Unfortunately I can't post a link, but here is the confirmation below. You should be able to find yourself the link online, or it is available on the Honor 8 Reddit forum.
MONDO MobIT: Which models will Android Oreo come in yet?
George Zao : "The tests are in progress, and the device list is not final, but we are trying to expand it as much as possible. For now, I know that Oreo will soon be on Honor 8, Honor 8 Pro, Honor 9, Honor V9, but also some other Honor smartphones. "

All Honor and Huawei Devices will get treble support because Huawei already seperates driver etc. And the OS on two different partions("vendor partion") So its very easy for them to support treble. Other manufacturers like OnePlus and Nokia dont do that, thats why they dont get treble support. But we will get treble support for sure.
