Rooted - can't set up PayPal in Google Pay - OnePlus 6T Questions & Answers

I'm rooted and have bot PayPal and Google Pay hidden in Magisk hide. When I try to set up PayPal in Google Pay, I receive this error.

Have you renamed the magisk app to a random app in magisk manager settings also

SafetyNet check passes in Magisk?

PayPal support on Google Pay isn't yet available in some countries. Is there any way to find the american or deutsche apk with this function yet available? Or any way/ideas to bypass this problem?

I've the same problem from 3/4 days, I've paid Until last week...but from today Google pay not works...it tell me the same screenshot in your first message
Has anyone found a solution?

This is a known issue since the last Google Play Services update a few days ago. Check here for a temporary workaround: https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/discussion-google-pay-magisk-discussion-t3906703

Thank you @ierger . I Hope in a definitively solution soon...but for now thank you for the temporary workaround ?

I've installed the 18.2 canary release version of magisk and I can now add a card to Google pay. Won't be able to test payment until tomorrow.

I got that error last week and all I had to do was:
-Hide the main Google app using Magisk Hide (the one just called "Google" in the app drawer)
-Clear data for the GPay app
-reboot
After that, everything worked fine again.

OPen Magisk > go to MagiskHide > Select your banking app (In your case PayPal) > Try again (It should work)

There is always some kind of problems with PayPal. That's why I just refused to use their service anymore. There was a lot of headache when I was with a visit to Moskow and discovered that I can't use PayPal for paying for stuff that I need. Then I discovered https://baxity.com/. Well, actually, it was a friend of mine who recommended it to me. Good payment system, despite the fact it's new. And have some features for business. As a businessman, I like it very much.

Google Pay with Paypal worked for month on my rooted Op6T with Android 10.
A week ago payment was denied in a few stores...
I deleted Paypal in out of Google Pay, checked Magisk hide status and added Paypal again.
Worked for 2 days, now Paypal can be added to Google Pay, but as account only and not as valid payment option.
latest Android with Magisk canary, any surgestions how to fix?

My first question is why are folks adding PayPal to their Google accounts instead of running it as a separate app...Anyway as you can see in my picture, that the only thing I have "hidden" is Google Play services and I think that happens when you install Magisk anyways...
But in my case I have both PayPal and Google Pay working just fine, I am rooted and in the lastest stable Magisk, all I did was updated my Google Pay to the latest as the app is already installed on our phone , cleared the storage and cache for the app and playstore , added my cards and all works great, though no can update the app through playstore as u get app no longer compatible with my device but it works fine...

You can use Paypal as default payment methode in Google Pay. All my other bank accounts doesn't support Google Pay by now.
So Paypal is my only choise to pay with gPay by NFC.
I got both apps, and both are working well - but Paypal can't be used for payment by Gpay any more.

Market Server Error

Anyone having an issue with the market where you can download apps etc. But if you try and look at "My apps" or "My downloads" it gives you a "server error has occurred. Retry, or cancel and return to the previous screen?"
Started last night, tried everything I can think of.
Anyone see this before?
Ditto for me. FYI, my market app was an apk install. I didn't wait for automatic update.

Tried:
Fix permissions,
Clear cache/data of market app
Clear davlik cache
Clear cache in clockwork
Install apk of new market app
Uninstall updates of market app
Market doctor in titanium
Nandroid to my last known good configuration
Anyone have another idea short of factory reset/flash new rom? That's my next step but I wanna give it a few days to see if it possibly could just be a Google server error for me.

I've been having the same problem since yesterday with different roms and new and old market.

I also have this problem, tested on every Rom in Rom Manager. I believe the problem us that I am using google as apps for my main email address. I tested with a factory reload with my gmail address and the market worked. Then I tired adding an credit card to my google apps account from my pc without any luck.
I previously made purchases with my google app account, but am no longer able to even view previous transactions. The problem is on google ends, but I have no ideal in to fix the problem or who to contact.
To complicate things further any new google app account works in purchasing apps, just the account that had previous purchases before google upgraded google apps to allow google apps account to work across google products

Good to know its not just my issue. And FYI, im using a regular Gmail account, not Google Apps account, so at least it doesnt appear to be an issue limited to that for me.
Had the same problem running Redemptive rEVOlution 2.1.3. I just started yesterday. I didn't update the Market, tried clearing cache/data/dalvik cache. Also on 3g and on wi-fi. I did update the kernel a couple of days ago and can't remember if I accessed the market since then (I think so though). I finally gave up and decided to flash to a different ROM today. Going back to SR for a little while. I am also not using a Google apps account.

Did that fix your problem? flashing a new rom?
I've been using the same ROM and Lou's #4 kernel for a couple weeks now. Only recently I've notice issues with the Market. I'm sure future updates will clear things up.

For the most part. I see it sometimes but I can hit retry and it eventually goes through. I also loaded the new market though.
For the record, I have the same issue on my Desire HD.

I installed the market early myself. Regular Google Account.
I was receiving the market error as well but about 30 minutes ago it started working.

Same here.
I got to work, tried it on both WIFI and 3G, appears to be all good now.
Must have just been a google server side issue after all.
Edit: and I did get automatically updated to the new market once I went in the second time. FWIW

[INFO] Apps not working on Pixel XL due to Nougat 7.1/Root/Partition + FIXES

I think most of us are coming from non-Nougat phones.
What has your experience been so far with apps working or not working on the Pixel XL.
I'll try to keep a list going if anyone thinks it's a good idea?
If so, let me know what app doesn't work and if it's related to root/dual-partition setup/Nougat or some other reason.
Then let me know when it finally does work and I'll update the list.
List of Apps not working on PIXEL XL
Due to Nougat 7.1, Root / Dual Partition or Other Reasons:
[*]Ad-Away ---(flash the developer build and enable systemless root in settings)
adidas Confirmed ----Does not work with root?
Amazon Underground ----(reported as "funky")
Ampere ----(works but does not correctly calculate 9V charging levels?)
Autostarts ----(app must be updated for root/Pixel's dual partition setup)
Black Mart Alpha
Busybox variants ----(fastboot workaround: "mount -o rw,remount /system_root")
Flashfire
Garmin Connect (for smartwatch)
Glide ?
iFont
Inspectorade ----(app must be updated for root/Pixel's dual partition setup, maybe??)
Navigon Select ----(?)
Navigon USA ----(works for me, doesn't work for some others?)
Ninebot
SElinux Changer ----(correct me if I'm wrong?)
[*]Secure Settings Pro ----(app must be updated for root/Pixel's dual partition setup) Here is the fix
[*]Snapchat ----(beta version is reported to be working if install prior to root)
Sony Play Memories
Sportacular
[*]Tunity (edit: 11/05/2016. Now working if you sign up for and install the beta version)
Wawa ----(app must be updated for root/Pixel's dual partition setup)
Wells Fargo ----(older & newest versions reported working)
USAA
Snapchat is still using the old permissions model *face palm*
Sony Play Memories (which lets me copy photos from my Sony camera by wireless to my phone) is not compatible with Nougat.
My ninebot app that goes with my mini-segway doesn't work with 7.1. It originally didn't work with 7.0 and they updated it about 2 weeks ago, but now that I have 7.1, it's broken again. I don't know what's so different between 7.1 and 7.0 that would break it.

Navigon or Navigon Select?
Navigon USA is working fine on my Pixel XL.
I'm not familiar with "Navigon Select" but it's definitely a different download than Navigon USA:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.navigon.navigator_select&hl=en
I still prefer Google Maps over Navigon USA though. By far (just my opinion).
And am still annoyed with myself for paying $39 for the Navigon crap.
Especially now that Google Maps lets you download offline maps for when cellular data is not available.

I definitely prefer Google Maps, but sometimes I won't know when I will lose data (traveling through Nevada for example) and unless I know to download in advance, google maps will fail. It also only allows you to download relatively small areas, where I can download entire states on Navigon. Again, I use Google Maps nearly 100% of the time, but have Navigon with surrounding states downloaded as a back up.

Try wiping cache/data for the app and uninstall it.
Then reboot and make SURE you're connected to WiFi because Navigon initial setup is often picky abou that.
Then re-install Navigon and try to set it up?

I tried all of that, got the same register screen and then when I submit, it says error occurred. If I choose skip, still same error occurred.
Dangit, Secure Settings Pro isn't working.
This may actually be an issue with Root more so than Nougat.
Sucks because I use it with Tasker quite a bit.
Anyone know of a good alternative for Secure Settings?
I emailed the developer but the app hasn't been updated in over a year so I'm not holding my breath.
The Wawa app hasn't worked for me since I rooted. I get constant Force Closes.
ifont does not work either, getting a error code 7 ....
sorry about that, ifont only works with root.... and its not working
and Air Audio is not working either with root.....
Yep, please do specify when it's an issue because of root so that I can differentiate in the OP. :good:
I have Snapchat on my device and it works just fine. I think I signed up for beta testing though. So for those who can't get Snapchat working, maybe try the beta? I'm also not rooted, so I'm not sure if that is causing it to not work properly.
Add Autostarts to the list. Even with root it can't make changes. Says it needs root.

VPN on Fire Stick with Alexa.

Hi;
I have a fire stick with alexa.
I would like to use Prime Video, but I can not because I am in Spain.
I have tried several VPN apps, but none works for me.
Can you help me?
Regards.
What VPN are you using? I use PIA and Prime works fine on the UK Southampton gateway but it's blocked on the London one so it might be worth trying a few different gateways.
I tested FreeVPN, TurboVPN, Hola VPN, SuperVPN and Ultrasurf. None worked.
PIA I have not tried it because it is paid.

Never used this service. But the only free option I can think off is WindScribe VPN free 50 GB monthly thru SD's code. You will need an offer per device & you can only use an App to access it. No OpenVPN on the free accounts.

I've never used them so can't comment on this possible solution specifically. So let us know how it goes & if you find any roadblocks, etç
Just checked & the Android APP & OpenVPN are only for Pro/Paid accounts. They do promise to release a version for a free account on Android by the end of (2nd Quarter) June 2017.

Another option I have thought is to configure in a router with openwrt one VPN account. Do you think that would work?

As long as Amazon has not blacklisted that VPN's IP addresses. It should. We mostly hear of Netflix aggressively targeting VPN's. Don't remember hearing much about Prime & VPN's.
I would try to get the 50gb free account(S) now in case the free upgrade code becomes inactive by June.
Thank you. I registered and used the code to get the 50gb account.
I think I'll wait for the app for free accounts.
Thanks for all.

np, remember to share your experience once you test out their service/app/solution here.
I have bought PIA and it doesn't work.
I have tried the UK Southampton gateway and the New York gateway.

Are you blocking updates thru your Router or OpenDNS ?
I think I know where the problem is.
I pay the premium account in Spain, and when I try to watch a movie, I get the error message because I do not pay the US premium account.
It is curious, because I use the application from the mobile, pressing the option to "play a movie in firestick" and works perfectly.
I tried to update the Prime video app for the one that is in the Play Store of Spain, but it does not let me update.
From what I've read, it cannot be root this device.
Can sombody please tell me why all the links for sports does not work for me or is there something i can do to fux this. Everything else works fine just anything to do woth sport the gear comes up then go away and nothing please help

Way to get "non Android TV" Apps I paid for on Shield?

I'm searching for a way to get paid apps on my Shield that I have paid for and use on my phone (same google account).
Pushing them via Google Playstore Website doesn't work, states that Shield Tv is not supported.
Also tried unpacking the archive with apk in it, that I created via titanium backup. App shows as not paid (Tasker in this case).
Using Yalp store it seems I could logg in via my google account to download and install paid apps, but yalp store states it probably isn't a good idea to log in with the google account so I didn't.
One idea I have left is install titanium backup on the Shield, tranfer app backups made on my phone and restore them. Problem is I can't seem to get titanium backup working with magisk, it fast closes. See my other post here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/shield-tv/help/titanium-backup-magisk-t3904195
Any ideas are welcome. I mostly would like to have paid tasker and titanium backup apps working on my Shield.
I'm fairly new to the shield myself but the way I get not supported apps onto the shield is a combination of 'Send Anywhere' on the phone and 'x-plore' on the shield. With Send Anywhere you can send any installed app from your phone to another Send Anywhere client, and it just so happens that x-plore has Send Anywhere built-in. The only issue is that x-plore itself isn't supported by the shield so you need to copy the .apk over and install that first.
Where does it say for yalp store that its not a good idea to sign in with your google account?
What I found was this
By default Yalp Store connects to Google services using a built-in account, so you do not have to own a Google account to use it. Using your own account lets you download your previously purchased apps, leave reviews, participate in beta programs.

Once you untick "login with fake google account" you get a warning/info.
Can you confirm it's possible to get your paid apps on the Shield this way?
Oh, do you think I need busybox for titanium backup to work? I have it on my phone but not on the Shield.
Can you confirm the busybox module in magisk is working on the Shield? Or is it better to use the busybox app for the Shield?

Fairly sure it does
I can confirm yalpstore works, purchase on another device or web browser, then login with yalpstore and download. I think the warning is to do with the fact that using anything other then the playstore is against their TOS, forcing people to use their propriety software.
Oandbackup on f-droid store is an app that backs up apk and data just like titanium, with less features, but works well for what it does.
Im curious to know what stops you using titanium to restore your paid apps when it works okay for free apps, i would have thought that if one works so would the other, has nvidia/android introduced something new recently?

Yeah saw it after I tried the app.
But yeah you should be able to get paid apps.
I'm pretty sure titanium backup needs busybox, and i'm running the one from magisk.
But I would delete the titanium backup you got, and get the paid one through yelp, see if that works.

[SOLVED] Amazon/Alexa Apps SSL certificate Error

Hello
Hello, i'm facing some issues with the following apps:
Amazon App: "please check internet connection and try again."
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
This occurs when I want to login, after I put in my login details.
Alexa App:
"Certificate error. Please update Google chrome."
This one after opening the app.
New XDA Forum App:
And this one when I want to look at forum thread.
I checked my time settings, wiped cache in recovery and wiped app data of chrome/webview. I also deleted chrome with magisk debloat and installed it again via play store.
Anyone knows how to fix this? In chrome I have no issues, everything working in the browser. I'm rooted on the latest oxygen 11 11.0.2.2.
Thank you.

Do you have adaway running? Others have been saying this is related to the webserver in adaway. I turned that off and this seems to have gone away for me.

I turned the integrated webserver in adaway off and now everything is working as it should.
Thanks for your own followup. Saved me some search time ! I tried installing both certificates the "new" adaway app proposes but to no avail so I also just stoped the webserver (which never caused such issues before the "new" adaway)

Amazon app error when web server enabled (5.0.10) · Issue #2266 · AdAway/AdAway
Describe the bug When using version AdAway 5.0.10 with local web server enabled when the user attempts to browse the Amazon app, an error is displayed after the home page loads. To Reproduce Steps ...

Seems we can reanable and just whitelist amazon a'd xda
Thank you, this did it for me as well. I searched google and ddg for a couple hours with no luck finding the suggestion of turning off the integrated web server. Alexa nagged me about Chrome needing it's certificate updated, Amazon shopping just kept on saying an error had occurred. A little more verbosity from the programmers when an error occurs would be nice.

I was resigned to the fact it just wouldn't work.
I turned off Adaway ad blocking and the Alexa app works
Absolutely sick and tired of Amazon.
The amount of money that guy makes from people buying from Amazon and he wants adverts to be forced or things don't work.
He reminds me of the bad guy from Ready Player One.
A complete douche kebab.
PS: yea the fix is to disable adaway, but I pray someone finds a way round that.
I absolutely loathe ads.
If anyone is curious, you don't have to turn the integrated web server off to use Amazon. Just add *amazon* to the Allowed list, hit apply and reboot.
