Had you upgraded before? I am 100% stock and did not want to upgrade until 100% sure it won't screw my phone as it's essential for work, I'm being offered this update today as well and am nervous.

Yes upgraded to pie OTA without VPN and bands were missing. This morning's update is to me perfect. Can't find any bugs so far.

Got it here in Belgium. Checked and band 20 is back ?

Phew, thank for that, took the plunge and all is good

I have just checked and update available in UK.
Will hold off a day or two but looks good according to @davwright

Downloading too .. in South Africa

Five hours in now with new update and all ok. Seems a lot faster too

[Q] How to check if LTE is working with I9506 CM11 from solk2?

Hi,
I'm running the userdebug build from this thread. Now I wonder how to check whether LTE works? Should there be an "L" somewhere? I can only see the "H+" for HDSPA+. With the Samsung Firmware there's a big "L" when LTE is available.
Ok, I have selected preferred network = LTE in the system settings. According to this FAQ (hXXp://cyanogenmodlog.wordpress.com/faq/) it should show "4G" which it doesn't.
So I figure it doesn't work
ok, so it does show "LTE" when I move around the area a bit. Apparently the area is not fully covered here.
so everything's good

Just got official update to 5.1.1 for N900T (DOK2)

So, I got a small update just now for my N900T. The changelog says OS 5.1.1.
I'm installing now. Will update when it's finished.
Edit: Added screenshot.
Build number is N910TUVU2DOK2
I have a update downloading as well, lets see how this goes. You meant to type N910T I presume?

Yes, I know the N910T3 has had 5.1.1 for a while, but no, this is for the N910T.
Unfortunately I am not rooted, so I can't provide any firmware dump or anything else that would be of help to devs.

When the install finished downloading, it asked me to confirm the install. That's when it showed the changelog. I should have taken a screenshot of it. Probably had good info. Oh well, too late for that now.

My phone just started downloading an update as well. Couldn't find what update it was downloading until I came here. Hopefully no issues?

Haven't played with it enough yet. Time for bed. Have to go to work in a few hours. But the install went smoothly, and the first boot was fine.
Let's hope it stays that way.

Thanks. Security update. Yaaaaaaay!
As for rooting, I'm sure the usual suspects from XDA will be on it in no time. They'll probably have root before I get home from work.

I hope this leads to a fix for the finger print bug in ROMs. This is my first device that has a finger print scanner and I don't like giving out passwords lol.
Just got the update as well on a non-rooted N910T.
Really hoping for some improvements in speed.
Finally. I've noticed better reception so far. I'm at the Dr's office which I never get signal in the waiting room but I got 2 bars. Hopefully it fixed reception that 5.0.1 messed up for me

Might not mean much but having any signal vs no signal is an improvement.

And so many wonder why the general public bemoans updates. Not that I used it much but it was nice to have if it is in fact gone. I hope they didn't change much else.
The real update I see is that the Stagefright exploit is fully patched.
Most of you on this thread might not care but if you install this update, there's no going back to KK or Lollipop.

Android Auto

So Huawei devices have been having a lot of problems with Android Auto, the Mate 9 and Mate 9 Pro inclusive. They cannot connect and leave the screen in the car black after a connection attempt has been made.
Huawei is working on this and it should be fixed in OTAs, which some users of other devices reported to be the case for them.
Since I'm stuck on the European version C432, I haven't gotten any OTAs since B156. Is anybody on newer firmwares able to test if the problem has been solved for them?

Yeah, it's great news. Doesn't seem to work for the Mate 9 Pro yet, since it doesn't have a SD card. But there must be a way around this.
Hope updating to newer firmware will fix the problems with Android Auto, since this is my biggest concern with this phone.
Thanks for the answers

Really? Damn.. there doesn't seem to be any consistency to this.. what model do you have?
Which version of Android Auto are you using?
No problems whatsoever for me either. Mine works perfectly.
However, when I had my Note 4 I had to jump through a lot of hoops to get it to work. It took weeks of investigation and trial and error. It's simply a very inconsistent app. And from my experience, type of car and google services version play as much of a role as your phone's firmware does. Visit any other phone sub forum if you need proof of that. It gives problems on all phones.
Actually, once AA refused to connect. Only way to fix it was to redownload and reinstall Android Auto. Make sure you're on the latest version too.
It didn't leave the screen black though, just refused to connect.
Latest is 2.2.710804, and you should probably get the arm64 version.
I had to get it from apkmirror as it's not released in Sweden yet.
I guess it's worth a shot to reinstall/update.

Oh.. then it doesn't make sense.. might still be the case, as I have the Mate 9 Pro.
Any change? Just got a vw golf with android auto and am mega frustrated. Black screen because the phone keeps switching from USB data using mtp to USB charge only.
Mate 9 with uk firmware
EMUI 5.0.1

Check for updates says there isn't one.
You can and are supposed to use charge only for Android Auto, not mtp.

I definitely think that is the update that's gonna prevent samFail root method and being able to roll back to previous fw. Thank God I'm already rooted and can't take that update. Hopefully someone will figure out a way to pull the Calling Plus feature from this update so we can take advantage of the VoLTE.

To be honest since I switched from HTC to the Note series I haven't missed rooting and flashing much. I use package disable pro to disable apps and now use Disconnect Pro to block ads.
I'm happy to have simultaneous call and data back. Just used it and it worked as advertised! One thing I noticed is the calls did not connect as HD voice calls.

Dang I just rooted my phone 2 days ago and I love having root! Can't live without viper audio lol so hopefully we will get root on this firmware soon
Holy rooster poop, this call plus is awesome. I longed for the day when i could take a phone call and use my hotspot at the same time..Heck yes i did!
That time I envy not being on the Sprint version just happened.. waiting on the unlocked update lol anyone have the unlocked version and flashed the Sprint version yet? Data while on call is game changer
Now we just need the built in samsung caller id lol
Almost worth losing root to get this update. VoLTE is something I really want lol

Well i have found a weird issue, and i don't believe it was there before the update. Microsoft Word will not open(crashes instantly) same for Excel, and MS apps. Then i notice my icons frame option is greyed out and i haven't a clue.
I have the unlocked note 8 with the Sprint firmware flashed to it and I got the update yesterday. I did not notice any bloatware being added after flashing. But I did get wifi calling and now have calling plus after the update.
Root and calling plus working for me have to move a few files around but it works

I even removed and then redid the update, nothing! Not a happy camper!
Guys this is a staged rollout even once you have the update until google turns on the feature server side for you you don't get it. So chill and relax it will eventually work.
its here, i have it right now, w/o the hack
I got the notification today. Running beta 2 on Android p
