How Can I Hide Root on my Rooted HD 10 to Get Some Apps to Run? - Fire HD 8 and HD 10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all! First, thanks to all for the hard work in outlining how to root the HD 10! :good: I followed the directions and successfully rooted my HD 10 with the offline method. Before rooting I wasn't aware that I would lose access to some apps that check for root like the Spectrum TV app and even the Weather Channel app. I kind of understand why Spectrum would not like rooted devices, but The Weather Channel app? In any case, I'd like to know if there is a way to cloak or hide root so that some of these apps will start working again. I haven't tried setting up Xposed or anything, but is that a way to do it? Does Xposed have a module that's safe to use on the HD 10 for hiding root?
Thanks in advance for any help!!

Is anyone out there who can help answer this question?

You'd need to use a systemless root manager like Magisk or SUHide-lite which are not compatible with the HD 10 root solution.

Delete the su binary and app from your ROM zip and flash it? Of course, you'll have no root access...I've never tried it, but it might work. I'd like to know what these apps are looking for in order to decided whether or not you're rooted?
Ordered my Nexus 4 on the 13th. Still waiting.
You can try a temp unroot via superSU pro. A word of advice though: banks don't allow their apps on rooted phones because of the risks involved. Custom roms are more often than not less secure than stock ones, putting you at the risk of banking credentials being stolen or remotely siphoned or pished or extracted via adb. If you ask me, I'd say don't look for a work around. The restriction is there for a reason.

Easy root for 4.2.2 Tab2!!!

Hi Many peoples of the world! :victory:
Not sure if anyone clocked on to this but I've been trying to root my tab 2 for ages and since the 4.2.2 update I've wanted root even more, But I never plucked up enough courage to risk all my data by flashing that CF Auto root thingy using Odin.
So for the past 6 hours I've been googling my A** off to try and find a way to Root.
:highfive: And I've finally succeeded!! :highfive:
I found this post while on my travels, apparently this is to root a "Root Protected" phone so I thought why not, So I followed the instructions and what do you know, I got root!
This might be of use to a few people who were in the same situation as me, If not well I cant do much about that.
Many thanks to Abhiraj4u who's post it was

Haha!
I know its not designed to work on tab2 but the end result is that it does, And Perfectly as far as I can tell!
All you need to do is connect your tab 2 with USB Debugging enabled and hit start on cydia impactor, after that you have to install a superuser app of your choice from the playstore, I prefer SuperSU.
P.S. Quick question did you loose data when using your method to gain root?

A way to dual boot S7 Edge to run Good for Enterprise?

Here's my situation. I have a stock rooted S7 Edge but I need to use Good for Enterprise and my employer does not allow root on their Good policy. I have toyed with trying to hide it but it doesn't seem that there is a reliable way. My only option appears to be to load another stock rom via dual boot and to run good from that.
Does anyone know if this is possible - I have searched a lot.
Also does anyone know if there's a reliable way to hide root from Good. That would really save me some hassle.
Well im not if it will work but look for old gfe version that support the xposed module that hide root from gfe. There is a thread here in xda on this.

I work IT for a company that uses the new Good Work. I have tried for weeks and lost tons of sleep trying to get that crap to work. I couldn't crack it on my jailbroken iPhone and now the same for this. If you find out a way please let me know...
There may be a way to Dual boot, But it depends if the Dev adds support for our S7.
I used this on my other Galaxy series including the Note 3.

use hide my root mods and apps (especially Xposed Versions)....no app can find you are root...google it
i'm using RootCloak
I'm in a similar boat. My corporation uses Outlook 365 and an app from Microsoft called Company Portal. This app scans for root and other alterations of the system.
I'm also using RootCloak and systemless root and xposed which keeps the Company Portal app happy.
Another option that has worked for me was using systemless root and renaming the "su" binary to something else (and also uninstalling the SuperSu apk). This allows root access from the adb for things like debloating but doesn't allow root apps to work so it's more limiting.

Pokémon GO 0.37- Root and a fix? {SOLVED}

Hi.
Have you been able to play the latest Pokémon GO 0.37 on a Note 3 with root?
If so, can you please tell us how you did it in detail?
1. How?
2. What rom are you on?
3. Can i ceep my rom in my sign?
Yeah i know, Pokémon GO is boring, pointless and soo Juni 2016. But we are many that still wants to play it
Thanks for not telling that you are not going to play it in this thread.

It works with root now.
Follow this: Magisk v6
Remeber, if you have xposed then you need to uninstall it.
Here is the right one.

Do a complete unroot in superuser first.
And for how.. it's in the OP under Instructions.
Hmmmmm
ok
I don't play pokemon go, but I hate the idea of not being able to if I would want to, just because I have root.
I have the same problem with an app for a Swedish operator, this app would be great to have, but "nooo, you can't have root".
Makes me so angry.
In short.. thanks for the great work and taking the power back ???

Search her http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...rom-note-5-s6-edges-marshmallow-port-t3314857
I think i saw someone with Phronesis talking about it.
Anyone have luck with jasmine rom?
Running "full unroot" in supersu settings just gets spinning uninstall animation endlessly for me.

common apps and root

Hi,
More and more apps are not working when your phone has root. Does anybody know if there is a solution to that? For instance a Bank app will not have all the functions with root or will not work at all. Please do not answer with the fact that unroot my phone will help, lol. Thanks.
