What Magisk modules is everyone using? - OnePlus 6T Questions & Answers

Now that a lot of folks are getting their unlock codes, what Magisk modules are you guys using? It's been quite a while since I've had a rooted phone. So I'm not sure what the latest and greatest modules are.

I'm running Vanced and the Goog framework (so I could download the dialer off the market) and waiting for the more interesting stuff until TWRP hits. Too much trouble backing up and restoring right now.

In magisk under downloads look for Google dialer framework. If you click on the module it should give you instructions on how to install.

Yep, the Goog dialer. You don't need to install the entire framework, as mentioned above there is an up to date framework for just the dialer. Search framework in Magisk, you'll see it. Sometimes after installing the framework I can see the dialer in the play store, other times I have to go get the APK and install that way. I don't know why it doesn't show at times but once you've installed it in either fashion automatic updates from the play store should work; mine does. I'm in the beta because it has the dark mode now.

Yep, I downloaded the beta for the dark theme. But my question is, what's better in the Google dialer than the stock dialer?
Sent from my ONEPLUS A6013 using Tapatalk

Much better spam blocking, caller ID, and the local search can often be the fastest way to find a phone number for something nearby. For example you wanna call for a pizza from a local place you know, start typing the name and it will usually pop up immediately (assuming a decent connection) and you can dial away. In some respects the stock dialer is actually better but it cant overcome those things in my case. I use the local search for numbers of places nearby fairly often, less spam is better, caller ID never hurts.

reboots were most likely caused by greenify GCM push notifications. On the newset xposed and greenify beta I havent had a reboot in almost a month :good:

Hello, my first post here, so be nice to me!
I'm also wondering about it as well. I've got it, and with 6.0.1 Marshmellow MMB29P, and are wondering if you guys would recommend the 2.7 experimental1, or the 2.6.1? A friend of me rooted the phone for me, but i want to have xposed for customizing. I've now got Nexus Root Toolkit, so it should be a Piece of cake to fix it.
Sorry for my english, i really suck at english gramma.
So I flashed Xposed from the one you guys recommended. I don't see it on my phone? Is it under settings menu or an app?

You're welcome mate. It's my first time rooting anything today so this is a really neat feature i must say!
I would recommend you look at these and see if any the modules here is useful for you: makeuseof[DOT]com/tag/12-best-xposed-modules-customizing-android-6-0-marshmallow
The most neat feature i've found by now is Battery Home Icon, GravityBox [KK], Xposed GEL Settings (MUST have if you want to customize the default luncher) and XPrivacy.
XPrivacy i'll have to read me up on how works and how to use it correct, it is a powerful tool to control witch app can do what.

Wanam Xposed and other modules.

Anyone know if Wanam works or have a list of working Xposed modules?
The only modules that I have installed and confirmed working are AdBlock, GravityBox, and Pandora Patcher.
Edit: confirmed that Wanam works, but not all modules.

Pixel Launcher

Hello all
the OnePlus 5 will be my first "not google" smartphone - since now I had always Nexus phones with google stock launcher or the incredible pixel launcher. I saw several screenshots and videos from unofficial pixel launchers here in this forum but none of them were like the original pixel launcher (with the searchbar and latest news when you swipe left).
I would just like to know whether it is possible to have a pixel looking design with my new OnePlus. I can download the original pixel launcher via playstore but can I access it with a OnePlus too?
Sorry if this sounds stupid but as I said it's this is my first change of manufacturer with android devices.
Thank you very much

To use the Pixel Launcher from the playstore you need at least android Nougat which OP5 does come with so yes. OxygenOS is very similar to stock android anyway.
Thx for your fast reply. I know the launcher was pixel exclusive for a few months and I was not so sure if it is still the case.
Have a nice day
To have it running properly (with all Pixel features) it needs to be installed as a system app, needing root.
I'm think I'll just go for the good old Nova Launcher I mean.... who can live without Icon packs ?

I could have sworn I saw in one of the YouTube OP5 reviews that the Oxygen stock OS has an icon pack changing feature in the settings. This article is for the OP3/3T but I doubt that feature has been removed "How to Change Icon Packs on the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T".

Having the same issue here, rather than on reboot (as thats what fixes it for me) it will just randomly stop processing when nothing is playing.
It's a common problem with viper for awhile now. If you just hit the menu at the top right and exit the app then re open it should start processing again.

You must have Busybox installed and install the last version of Viper, in this version they have fixed the not processing audio problem on andorid Pie.
I've solved this problem only in this way.
P.S. Be careful not to install the drivers from the app otherwise you risk a bootloop.

I've installed drivers Straight from the app, but I went into bootloop...You should try to install the 2.6.0.6 app as an update above the magisk version, i must install the new apk.
In this way you should keep the drivers already installed (they are the same) but have the new version that works.
I haven't tried yet since after the bootloop has However retained the drivers ...
Sorry for my bad English ?

Probably can't. I assume they're signed with different keys so you can't do an update.
I just used the app. It's installed as a user app and I just minimize the notification.
Maybe the user who said they installed it over the magisk version can say what they did.
If you can't install it like an update, you must install the APK over magisk, like a normal APK, then after install the raccomanded driver inside the app.
unfortunately he sent me to bootloop with this procedure (just one case probably), so I do not feel like taking responsibility in case of bootloop.
Make a backup of your data before :')

You must open the app, when you see the notification in the notification bar of Viper, it means that it works and Is processing
I have been trying to get this to work and have been unsuccessful. The steps i followed was downloading the latest one from the telegram group listed above and installing it just as a user app. But it just says not processing for me. Any help would be appreciated. I am on the latest version of the OS by the way.
Edit: It randomly just started working in the middle of me listening to songs.

I'm having intermittent issues with it also. Sometimes it'll work, sometimes not. Then, other times, it'll apply the speaker settings to Bluetooth or vice versa.

It really sucks because when it was on it was amazing.
Just rooted my 6t and installed this module for viper and it works like a charm. Made specifically for the 6, but works great on the 6t. No AML or anything else needed. All credit goes to Mentalmuso for the mod.

Also his dual speakermod works great with it as well.

Google pay not working

I have a converted oneplus 6t from t-mobile to Android 10 and Google pay is not working and my device is not rooted or does not have an unlocked bootloader. What can I do to fix the problem.
Your device is probably not certified. Check this in Google play parameters. If it is the case, in system parameters> applications try to clear cache and data for Google Play and Google play services then reboot.
If the above solution fails, another one is - ironically - rooting. First test whether your device passes SafetyNet with this app. I'm on A10, international version, rooted and mobile payment works. I'm not using GPay though. I did just notice that my device wasn't certified so I added everything related to 'Google' and 'Play' to Magisk Hide and now it is (see screenshot below). I wonder if there's a way of testing whether GPay works on a device without actually using it.
Oh and if you decide to walk this path, do be careful with a T-Mobile converted device! I've seen a lot go wrong with them (see official OOS threads, do some reading). Make sufficient backups before proceeding. There's a realistic chance you'll end up MSMTooling it.
Best of luck!

I check and it did show that it was not certified, but then I clear data and it stopped showing that. Google pay still does not work. I need to find a way to fix it with out going back to stock tmobile.

You will not get it certified till this type of device - TMOBILE 6T that is not the same as OnePlus Regular 6T) will get A10. So if you must have Google Pay get back to pie and wait till T-Mobile updates there phone to A10.

Hello,
Download the MagiskProp Config in Magisk then flash it.
Then download the Terminal Emulator for Android by Jack Palevich in the playstore.
Then follow instructions in the video link below :
This worked for me.
Yeah you are going to have to root and use the safety module. Only way it'll work
Believe it or not, it's a known bug that began with the beta but got resolved some time after. Apparently, this bug came back. OnePlus is aware of it and they are working on a fix. I already contacted support.

Funny how a company with an annual revenue of $1.9 billion and 2700+ employees (source) struggles with a problem that free and open development has solved ages ago. I'd like to take in these moments to stress the importance of communities like XDA. We're freaking awesome! #NeverSettle

Unfortunately can not do that - I have work profile on the phone and maas360 mdm will discover the root (tried to hide it in any possible way).

Thanks for that however I can't do that since I don't have magisk installed and I don't want to install wtrp or root my device to get it. If there is a way to install it without that I will do it otherwise nope.
