Call quality heavily relies on the service provider you're using.
I am currently using Vodafone D2 with HD-Calling option enabled.
Its (compared to Axon 7) pretty good.
The only negative thing I have to add: Because of the small screen-border, the earpiece is pretty small too - which makes finding the right angle for a call difficult.
A little bit too low: no sound - a little bit too high - no sound either. You really need to hold the phone exactly at the right spot in order to hear the sound clearly.
But nevertheless, the overall quality of calls is excellent.

No complaints, the phone delivers a crystal clear voice quality. Does best what a phones supposed to do.
Well, I have no problems with call quality even with weak signal. My previous phone (SGS II) was really "noisy". My Moto G5S (XT1794-RU) outputs outstanding voice quality.
I do experience an slight lower call volume output in my earpiece even with the volume slider maxed out.
Please don't think I am blabbering amongst the phones I've used, this is the one with Lowest call volume. But the speaker phones is quite fine though.

I've had supper clear audio, compared to my Nexus 6p. Honestly been the best ever.
The call quality sounds a like a landline! And my friends tell me that I sound clearer as well.
My brother is constantly muting himself on the G6. It's like the screen is so sensitive to touch that when in calls, he apparently activates the mute accidently. If I didn't know it was accidental, I'd think otherwise because it happens over and over consistently almost each and every call l.
Call clarity is unreal when talking to my wife - me on G6, she on G4

I just got the phone and noticed when I called someone - that then they talked where was some background noise (white noise) which might be quite normal. But when they paused - it was like the background noise disappeared. I have not noticed it with my old phone - a Huawei. Is this normal or?
Update:
I returned the phone for replacement. The new phone had the same issue – it was however better than the old one – but still not satisfying for a phone with a price label of € 1,200. So, I have returned the phone asking for a refund. I had my brother trying the phone just to make sure that it was not me who was the problem
Call quality is really good for me, I find the oppo has better antenna design compared to my last phone (Samsung note 9) and as such have better signal strength indoors.
It also supports HD voice and WiFi calling here in the UK (Vodafone).

Only issue on speaker people struggle to hear me unless I keep top microphone next to my mouth.

The Freebuds3 from the bundle sometimes output low volume voice.
Talking through speakers is a nightmare. Conversation partner can't make out much plus there is a strong echo of his voice. Normal calling is good.

The Call Quality is Amazing the noise cancellation is spot on it even reduces the wind noise to some extent and gives a crispy clear calling experience also it can get fairly loud even without speakerphone.
Have not had any troubles whatsoever with calls, either with carrier or internet calls (mainly whatsapp - skype - zoom). Clarity is very good, but I found that this mostly depends on the other end´s microphone quality, or if they are using a case that might muffle the microphones.
There seems to be a minor lag or muffling at the beginning of a call made/received? Any one notice this?
