problem with capturing images using flash - Samsung Galaxy J1 Questions & Answers

hello guys,
i have Samsung Glaxy J1 2016 SM-J120F
i noticed a problem with camera, when i try to take a picture using flash on a dark place, i turn flash on or auto and take a picture, the camera start using the flash light then focus and finally take the picture, but i get a really dark image ! it's like there's a problem in delay between when the flash is triggered and when the camera attempts to capture the image, i tried some solutions like, clear data of camera app, safe mode, factory reset and wipe the whole data and trying another camera app. all of that not helped !
i hope if someone could help, thank you.

Galaxy S GT-I9000 Camera Failed - Green screen

I have used my camera here and there on previous firmwares but since using XXJPO i havn't checked but earlier today i went to take a picture and all was well until it focused and then went take picture. It allowed me to aim it and all that but when i hit shoot it made the noise then said camera failed. I then enable review and noticed it was just getting a green capture. What could be the issue? i went into the camera firmware menu and hit phone to cam fw write and shut it down, removed battery and turned back on. Still no go...
What do i do?
Flash back to your original rom, and call tech support for a replacement

Umm actually glad to be proving you wrong here, all working fine now and i unlocked it at the same time since i needed to downgrade to test the camera was working fine so here goes what i did for anyone else who gets this issue.
Flash XXJM1 with odin and 512 pit
Be sure to clear all data on reboot into recovery or it will just get stuck in a loop
Then in dialer type *#*#34971539#*#* Select "Phone to CAM FW Write" and "YES"
Reboot phone and the camera should now work
Using Kies flash the latest update which is currently XXJPO in the UK

I had the same problem get voodoo lag fix if you have any other lag fix un do them before running the voodoo it works rember after you do the lag fix it takes a long time to boot
check that
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=9314303&postcount=3
My camera worked until I did the OCLF. After that -just like "Hydrouk" - preview ok, but after taking photo (only with main camera and photo -mode, front facing camera and main camera in video mode work just fine) I get the "Camera failed" notification and Camera program exits.
"Camera Firmware" size is 0.00kb
Disabling OCLF did not help, haven't done a firmware update or tried voodoo yet.
Any more info on this?
I'm having the same issue with my Nexus S (GT-i9020) and can't find a solution
hydrouk exactly which ROM did you flash back to? I've just tried XWJM2 from samfirmware.com
That's:
PDA: CODE_I9000XWJM2
Phone: MODEM_I9000XXJM1
CSC: CSC_I9000OXXJM1
And still having exactly the same problem after re-flashing the camera firmware using the code below - I get a green screen or "Camera Failed" message every time I try and start the camera application.
Thanks,
Ben.

hydrouk - many thanks for your help, this problem has been bugging me for a few months but finally you have solved it. I am once, once again, a very happy Salaxy S user

Format cache in recovery mode and if this doesn't help then do a factory reset and install your rom again on your defy.

Camera Focus not working (Manual & Auto)

So since I updated to OxygenOS 2.1 my camera focus has stopped working, I've tried the stock camera app, Open Camera and Camera360, none of them can use the focus, neither manual focus or auto focus.
I've tried both wiping the cache and a factory reset, neither of which worked. So what do I do now? Is it possible to roll back the OS to 2.0.2 or 2.0.1? Should I install(reinstall?) 2.1 again? I'm very noob when it comes to tinkering with my phones OS in this kind of way. I really do need to get this sorted, so if you tell me what I need to do either give me a noob-friendly description of how to do it or link me to a noob-friendly guide for this stuff. Really out of my comfort zone here, so afraid of bricking my phone(first nice phone I've let myself buy in years).
Phone is not rooted.

Oneplus Two Camera issues ... Hell lot of Issues

M facing really weird issue with Oneplus Two Camera.
1) Sometimes not frequently when I open camera app the screen is black and it crashes with an error stating "Camera unknown error".
At tht time if I use other camera apps i.e. Snapchat, Google camera ,etc..they show black screen too.
Even Flash doesn't work at tht time.
So I hve to restart to solve the problem.
2) When in a dark room or so, when I take picture with flash mode on...the camera screen goes blank and I hve to lock and unlock it to solve the problem. But if happens again when I take another shot.
Is there any solution ? Do I hve to worry ? Is it hardware or software problem and if its a software prob...will it damage my camera hardware or any other ?
I really love this phone ...so even minute errors bugs me
Do I need to replace? ...I don't want to spend my time replacing it coz I hve already replaced it ...I mean ..I bought it from Amazon India and due to a small dent on my OPT on the right upper corner I replaced it and it took me 15 days with lot of calling at Amazon ...so I don't want to do all tht again
Please help
I am on Oxygen OS 2.1.0
Rooted
Titanium restored from a backup of my previous phone I.e. Nexus 4 <--- is this causing the prob in any case?
Have you tried doing a factory reset? Did this happen on OxygenOS 2.0.1? Have you tried other camera applications (google camera) to see if the issue is software related? Do you have a custom recovery?

If you are rooted clean flashy the ROM
Non rooted -
Wipe cache partition from stock recivery
And most likely I think the problem is titanium backup of previous phone

i just flashed exodus, stock kernel, opengapps, reistalled my titanium backup, and everything works, no camera issue. so i doubt it's a titanium problem, either... but sorry, no idea how to help
Even after factory reset
Not rooted phone. Did factory reset in recovery mode and tried third party camera apps also, still problem persist
This happens for my OPT too. Whenever I try to take a shot in the dark, it just froze. Until I lock and unlock it again. Weird!
I have met the issue 2 as well. When I take picture under dark environment, the screen will be dark and I have to unlock it again. I am using oxygen 2.1 stock camera app. So I think it should be software bug.
One plus 2 camera issue
I was also facing the same issue but now it is resolved.
Steps. Before clicking a pic in dark just maximize your brightnessto 100% and off the optimization of screen in display.then click a pic..the screen wont get dark..and tje picture will be clicked.i hope it will be resolved in future updates with low and automatic brightness too

A3 2016 SM-A310F Camera flash doesn't work properly

Hello everyone,
In russian segment of the internet many cases that camera led flash is not working properly.
But i didn't find any similar issue here. So i am trying to describe symptoms below:
1. Firmware - latest 5.1.1 [A310FXXU2APDC SER]
2. Torch is working perfect
3. When you tried to make a shot with flash enabled - autofocus is working properly and led flash are working, but when it makes a shot - flash is blink on the 5% of power for short period of time. Video was taken by someone from 4pda forum: _youtube.com/watch?v=zEAtzw7Knj0
Photos after that looks like black square of Malevich.
Wipes - don't help
Flash firmware + wipes - don't help (i tried 1 file fw and 4 files fw)
Did anybody face with similar case? How you solve this? This is a really strange bug, because LED is working good, so it looks like software issue, but changing firmware is not helping as you can see above.
Thank you for any help,
BR Alexey.

it doesnt happen all of the time i think but a lot..
Fixed it with the following:
And now the very solution to the problem:
I continued those that put the phone on charge, I go to the camera, I turn on the flash, press on the side rocker (to take pictures), and while the camera focuses - pull charger from the outlet, and voila, the phone now makes normal images with the flash under all conditions as before.
Here is an unexpected decision.
how to overcame this problem?

Hi, I updated my Samsung A3 (SM-A310F) to Android 7.0 recently. At the beginning everything worked fine but maybe 2 days ago I started to have a problem with camera taking pics with flash (same as described in first post). I cleared cache for camera app, gallery app and cache partition as well. It didn't help. I used method posted by "cobr" and it worked straight away. Huge Thanks to cobr

Hello, i have the same problem, and the solution cobr posted didnt work for me. any ideas?
Cobr's recommendation worked!
Connect the charger to your phone. While charging the phone, launch the camera app.
Press any of the volume button (up or down) to take a shot, immediately the first flash comes up, quickly disconnect ( yank) the charger from the phone.
njoy!
Thank you cobr
I did it and it works
Thank you so much.
