PROBLEM SOLVED How retour to official Roms galaxy s8 from a custom Rom??????? - Samsung Galaxy S8 Questions and Answers

Hello everyone, someone among all those present and absent could inform us of how to revert to the official OREO firmware to a G950F with TWRP and OREO custom Rom ????.
I guess the first step would be to flash a stock recovery and remove the root since it seems that the error is given first by the custom recovery and maybe also the supersu.
This problem we have many users of the S8 that, for trying or for not being satisfied with the custom rooms we want to return to the official romm.
Any advice is appreciated in advance.:fingers-crossed:
Since this topic does not have any "solver", I had no choice but to try to solve it myself and at this moment I have installed the OFFICIAL version G950FXXU4CRJ5_G950FOXM4CRJ3_PHN which is the last one to date from the Samsung ovens.
The only necessary material is the file "] "RMM-State-Bypass.zip" flashed with the TWRP after having deleted the root. That is the solution that has allowed me to return to the official Rom.

you can download your version on the internet if you search and flash it with Odin....look at S8 Guides etc...

Out of the game for a while advice welcome

The last time i flashed a rom was about 6 months ago and the last time i had to get my hands dirty in a root and recovery process was even longer, probably as much as 2 years back with my old S2.
With this in mind i was hoping for a little guidance on a couple of things.
1) I'm not too concerned with triggering knox that i heard could be a problem in the early days for the note 3 as it's nearly 2 years old but I'd prefer not to, what is the best way and the best order to root, flash recovery and then flash a rom?
2)i know there isn't much love for people asking what is the best rom but what i would like to have is a stable rom even if it isn't the most recent and i do like touchwiz. However i do like the idea of extra features and tweaks. So, are there roms around that meet these requirements?
Cheers guys.
There are ROMs.. but Xposed is still not stable for Lollipop Samsung phones...
I'm not a fan of Touchwiz either but Lollipop Touchwiz is awesome (coming from a CM Fan)
Also ROMs like AryaMod are promising
cheers mate.
any other advice for the rooting and recovery processes from anyone?
You are not out for long enough to forget stuffs Welcome back anyway.
Rooting can't be more easy. Just flash any custom recovery (TWRP/ Philz), and flash the SuperSU zip package which can be found in Chainfire's website from it, https://download.chainfire.eu/696/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip
Done, you are rooted.
And for stable ROMs, well some are out there, but my favourite is AryaMod. It is based on stock TW ROM and comes with lots of customisations. If you are looking for purely stock based ROMs then just download those cooked ROMs by Alexandar (pardon if the spelling is wrong), they are as close to stock as you will get. And I don't like S6 based ROMs, I have a Note 3 and I want it as a Note 3, but there are few out there which will give you some S6 features. But the ones I mentioned are purely Note 3 based, you won't find any other phones' feature in them

1. I triggered Knox ages back so haven't kept up on things but if you flash a custom recovery, AFAIK you WILL trigger it. There are ways to flash custom ROMs etc without triggering Knox but I think you have to flash a pre-rooted ROM. Do some reading around - I've seen a number of threads about it.
2. I am currently on Temasek's CM12.1 ROM and have been for some time. I occasionally try others but have always come back to his - it's everything I like. Even on stock though, I run Nova launcher. For a stock-based ROM I'd recommend Sparx's Alliance ROM - I used it for months and it is easily the most configurable ROM I have seen - you don't need Xposed or other app to mod things, it's all built in.
You'd be surprised how much i could forget haha
So, would it be - 1) root (which method and how?) 2) flash recovery (which one and how?) 3) if I'm to use arya rom it says I'd need a stock lollipop installed first so would i do this before the root and recovery (again which one and how?)
Thanks guys for advice and patience.

1,2- Root: Simple as I said before. Just head over to Development section and find TWRP recovery. Flash that via Odin. Then go to Chainfire's website, to download the SuperSU zip package, 2.46 I believe is the latest version. Have that zip package copied to your internal or external memory, enter Recovery (I am sure you remember Vol Up + Power button combo will help you to enter recovery) and flash that SuperSU zip file. Just reboot the phone and you are now rooted.
3- Yes, you will be needing to flash a stock Lollipop ROM to be able to use Arya. I am not sure but I think its because of the bootloader. If you want to flash a stock ROM, just head over to sammobile.com and download any Lollipop ROM you want and flash it via Odin. Then download Arya ROM, it will be a zip package, and install that from TWRP, just like you would flash that SuperSU zip for rooting.

Cheers mate, i think I'm nearly there. Flashing the stock lollipop will wipe out root won't it? Do is it best to first flash the stock lollipop, then flash twrp then root then arya?
Lastly, when i looked on sammobile there were many different regions of it. I'm in the uk on an unlocked international model which i believe is btu. I know btu hasn't had it yet so which one is best? I know I'll be flashing arya over it but would like it to be the right one as i might try it out for a few days before flashing arya.

Yep, you got it right, you should flash the stock Lollipop ROM first, then flash TWRP, then root the phone (SuperSU zip package from recovery) and then flash AryaMod. That way you won't have to repeat any steps, cause flashing any stock ROM will restore stock recovery anyway, but I am sure you've already figured that.
About the ROMs on sammobile.com, well I can't really say which one you should download. I once downloaded a German or UK ROM (can't recall really) and it wouldn't flash on my UAE Note 3, someone told me that mine is 32 gigs phone and that ROM was meant for 16 gigs phone, since then I really didn't put much thought about those ROMs anyway, and obviously I had found Arya by then. You can ask in on the UK only topic in general section, they should be able to help you. The ROM from sammobile which worked for my phone was Polish Lollipop ROM, but again, it worked on my phone, so you get the point.

Correct flash order for rooting a stock firmware?

Hi guys
I recently moved to the note 4 910F from another device.
As I have always favored custom roms ( regardless if I was using a samsung or LG or another brand device ).
The problem I am facing now is that the xda Note4 forum seems to be incredibly messed up. There are literally tens of threads with useless information and whole new threads just for one download link or something.
If someone new like me comes to the Note 4 forum he will not know where to start. The previoux device I used had a beautifully organized XDA section.
Anyway. What I did until now was to flash :
1. flashed cf-root over the stock firmware and verified that it worked
2. installed busybox
3. tried to install TWRP as I have always used it . But , Their page said to make sure I have the correct bootloader installed.
So, I got back to the rom page that I wanted to use and the dev had links there for the correct bootloader and modem. Downloaded and flashed them with odin. Now my device was restarting every 1 minute or so and I no longer had any IMEI and baseband version was unknown
I fixed it by flasks the stock firmware with odin
Can you guys help me out with some correct information on how to be able to flash a custom rom ? I know how to root it but what bootloader do I need in order to install the custom recovery and flash a new rom ?
Thank you in advance.

Updating firmware confusion

Can someone please explain to me the importance of updating firmware?
What exactly is firmware that only Motorola can touch?
Why can't this be included while installing a ROM?
Does Motorola somehow have the capability to touch a certain partition that we cannot?
If you flash official Motorola stock ROM, how does it differ from flashing custom ROM?They cannot do the same thing?
Lastly, if the Samsung galaxy S3 is already running 7.1, then why must we update "firmware"?
I know for a certainty Samsung stopped pushing updates long ago for the S3. Please help I'm very confused by this! I've never known to do this in all my years of flashing yet you all keep mentioning it here! Only thing I've known to flash outside of ROM was the radio/modem/baseband whatever you wanna call it. And that was a flashable zip.
How can old phones get new custom ROMs if there are no official releases for current "firmware"? Thanks all! Links and input appreciated!

Updating the firmware is necessary because the firmware brings a newer version of bootloader and for it to be compatible you need the latest version of bootloader (B1.03 right now)
Other phones need firmware or driver updates too. Sometimes they can be baked into the rom or an additional zip. It's up to the manufacturer how they deploy drivers.
Also the well known sim on/off switch is a driver inside the modem. And if the manufacturer don't release the source you cannot see the changes and need the stock rom/files to flash them prior the custom rom to get newer drivers.

Don't discuss here, ask your question in the thread you're following the instructions to upgrade to nougat please. BTW Your given information is not specified enough to help you out.
Thanks everyone for your assistance! I appreciate the information.

S7 Edge roms, twrp, etc

Hi everyone I'm new to samsung devices but definitely not to android in general since I come from years of htc devices, root, flashing and so on.. still I am facing a bit of confusion here so instead of writing in every single thread I'll ask you here my questions:
1. As I read on TWRP official thread "it's incredibly hard to brick a sam device"; anyway I understand that this is never a risk free process but reading the comments it seems like people on nougat firmware are facing some kind of trouble so my question is: Is it safe to flash twrp on nougat firmware? And which one? 3.1.1-0 latest version should be fine right?
2. Let's suppose I'm now on twrp but instead of rooting the stock rom I flash directly a custom rom, I still need to flash "dm-verity and force encryption disabler"? After some reading I see people that flashes this after every new rom, someone suggests to use 2.2 version but the latest is 5.xx and the content of the zips is different between this two versions (5.xx contains a chromeos folder, the other one no??)
3. "Update modem and bl" , this is meant for those who want to flash a rom based on a higher firmware right? I'm on the latest (may security update) so there's no need to update modem and bl at least I think (?)
That's all, I'm sorry for this long post and my bad english!

Old Note 3

Hi all,
Thanks in advance.... I had my Note 3 since it was launched and I think it's high time I root it & try to use it with custom built rom as the original standard rom is getting out dated & sluggish.
I read a few threads about rooting this phone and the more I read, the more confuse I got as I am not sure which is the best way to do it now.
So, if there is any kind hearted soul out there, can you point me the right direction to which thread or way that is best for rooting my Note 3.
Lastly, which custom Rom that is currently best in terms of stability? I prefer rom that is as clean as possible without those bloatwares or unnecessary apps that usually comes standard on the original rom.
My unit should be international model as it is not tied to any Telco, I am in Malaysia.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thank you
Flash TWRP custom recovery .
Use Supersu zip to root if needed .
Best rom
https://forum.xda-developers.com/search/forum/2494?query=best stable rom
If you intend to use a custom ROM, there is no need to root the phone before flashing the custom ROM if you install TWRP first.
Confirm the model # of your phone in download mode before flashing TWRP as Samsung made several models of the Note 3.
Thanks so much guys, great stuff, at least there is something I can look forward to do this Christmas break....
Thanks again... Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to all!

Hi, so what you are saying is if I install the right copy of TWRP first, it will do the rooting as well & put in the supersu for me?
Thanks again.
What I mean is that there is no need to root the existing stock rom with supersu if you intend to go straight to a custom ROM after flashing twrp.
Flashing supersu with twrp is needed to get root on a stock rom if you intend to stay with a stock rom.
