Is it possible to port Android One from the G7 to the G6? - LG G6 Questions and Answers

Heared about the release of Android One on the G7, it looks like its just a stock AOSP ROM, I'm curious if it could be ported, or used in a way to add voLTE to already existing AOSP ROMs for other LG phones, any thoughts?

The AOSP rom is buildable, but its pure AOSP with no mods stuck on android 8.0

I think he's talking about the rom of the G7 One, i.e. 8.1 Android One.

Yeah, I'm aware that there are AOSP ROMs on 8.1 already available, but there is no way to get voLTE and some other weird bugs with 5GHz hotspot and some other things, I was wondering if it could be possible to deconstruct the android One ROM to help solve some of these, or port the complete ROM.

[POLL] KitKat-based LBL ROM choices

So, @neXus PRIME wants to make a locked bootloader-compatible ROM, aside from his wonderful AOSPA port. Now it's your choice, so choose the ROM you want carefully.
Huh one choice...
But one is not enough .-.
I know, but my hard disk space is not enough.
I have currently PA and aokp sources.
I am planning to replace aokp sources with the one you guys pick here. I can do a third too but then i will have to delete ccache space... But that is not good.
I'd like to see MIUI get updated to the latest version and see how that runs on our device because the MIUI interface itself looks pretty slick, and if possible a port of multirom would be a nice thing as well (if possible: don't know if our device is using fstab or rc)

I agree too
Like Paranoid Nexus, there is the chance of chosen rom to work with unlocked bootloader?
I can choice easier if I know which rom has what kind of features.
Actually MIUI seems like a good idea, plus it's a bit different when compared to the AOSP bunch.
Yeah MIUI would be cool, but if not i would love to see carbon or pacman on LBL.
@neXus PRIME
i appreciate your hard work buddy
instead of which rom you compile,i think we need advanced custom kernel like doomkernel...i'm currently using pacman 4.4.4 and none of cutom kernel present on forum does'nt works
Can we have avatar rom!
Avatar, Chameleon, AOSBam, Sonic.....wtf.... so many kangerzzz
But why is PURE AOSP winning out???
Don't know why but vanir being a ubl ROM is really fast and smooth, is it in the ROM or the optimisations by the dev??
In the feature code, ahe has mentioned many compiler optimisations, isbit because of them or the ROM????
I would have said Slimkat if bagyusz doesn't update it, but as of now i don't know if he will.
An update to the latest MIUI would be lovely, locked or unlocked BL is a matter of secondary importance for me
Apart from that Carbon, Vanir and PACman on a stock/stock-based kernel would also be nice

I think that some peoples want to have the android L version. Also they choosed Pure AOSP. This day, Google push the sdk of the android l version.
For android kitkat based, you can do MIUI Rom or if you want an AOSP, you can choose the AOKP.
The problem with android L is we'd have to check the LBL kernel modules we have work on it otherwise its another big job to update (if its even possible).
No L possible. End of story. Just vote the available choices
Well, when I was adding AOSP to the poll I didn't even think of Android L. Maybe I should have written it more precisely.
And yeah, there is a lot of work to do to make L work on LBL. The first thing that's coming to my head are Adreno drivers from 4.3(we are using them in KitKat, so it's not clean and fully working by any means). The second thing is power saving mode in L: we don't know if that's a kernel or OS feature... And there are many things that may result in a complete incompatibility between our kernel and Android L, and changing ramdisks won't help in that case.
Aren't the sources for L coming out in September? Why even talk about it now, wait till the Cyanogen team start to push the first nightlies, then we can put Android 5.0 in the conversation

Is it possible to downgrade Nexus?

I'm now using Android Oreo, but I'm considering installing unofficial Android system to my Nexus. I'd like to try Android Oreo or android Nougat. But the thing is I'm afraid that my phone may be laggy or buggy.
According to the post for Nougat port, the camera doesn't work well on the system.
So I'm wondering if I can downgrade to my Android Lollipop in case I can't stand the new system.
Thanks!
You can switch ROMs back and forth at any time, just make sure you make backups and always do a clean flash. Custom ROMs are always a subject to bugs so go for the most stable one you can find which would be Lineage OS.

There are many rock stable Nougat ROMs available for mako and you can easily find them on xda. Even some of the Oreo ROMs are stable enough to be daily drivers...
And yes, you can downgrade or upgrade the versions as you wish (that's the benefit of having a Nexus phone, isn't it?)

Best rom ?

Hi there guys , there so much diferents ROMs here
And wanted to know what are the best 5, in terms of fluidity, battery and functionality?
Well, there's no best, only favorites. A ROM that runs great for me on my device may be a problem for others (VertexOS is a good example).
For the record my favorite on the Axon 7 is Dark ROM.
ZTE Axon 7 A2017U, Dirty Unicorns UNOFFICIAL v11.7.2 ROM, Tapatalk 4.9.5
With the exception of MIUI 9 I have tested just about every ROM that's currently in development for the Axon 7. I always end up coming back to DARK ROM because it combines the simplicity and smoothness of LineageOS with a few extra features, such as OMS support and bypassing the PIN unlock on reboot.
ROMs differences.
Instead of creating yet another thread, I'll just hijack this one if that's alright with you guys .
Can somebody give me a rundown of the pros and cons of AOSP and LOS based ROMs in comparison to stock?
I know that camera apps won't work properly on custom ROMs and that there used to be some issue with the DAC, but that seems to have been patched since then (on LOS at least), is that right?
Thanks in advance.

have tried many rom's, last one was lineage14.1 (full of bugs) and now i'm very satisfied with '' Stock 7.1.1 B02 based for A2017G. The "We can do it better than zte" ed. ''

LineageOS was utter crap back in February, but it's gotten a long way since. I believe Lineage + BeastMode Kernel is awesome for performance (not so much for battery though)

Which is the best ROM for Moto G5 Plus ?

someone who has tried custom roms could tell me which is the most stable in android 8.1
They are basically all stable, just try them and see what you like.
RR-Oreo for me so far

60fps video option does not works.:good:
For me Lineage 15 with Alizee Kernel 24 man running as fast as flash puré android

ROM Pie based on stock.

Does any developer think of working on a ROM 9.0 based on a stock ROM?

Since there's no 9.0 stock rom it's not possible.

That's exactly what I mean, working over a stock rom of another model from the same manufacturer.
