My S8 (G950U) is stuck in a bootloop and cannot access download mode - Samsung Galaxy S8 Questions and Answers

Hi i tried rooting my device a few days ago with odin and it failed. When i tried to reboot it got stuck on the sprint logo. I tried reflashing the stock firmware and now when i try to access download mode it says "An error has occurred while updating the device software. Use the emergency recovery function in the smart switch pc software." I figured it would be an easy fix but the smart switch app on my pc said my device is unsupported. Odin still knows when my phone is connected but Im second guessing my abilities to do this on my own so any help would be much appreciated. Thank you.

[Q] AT&T Galaxy S4 will not boot into recovery! Help!

I attempted to flash a new modem into the Omega 7 ROM through Mobile Odin so that I could get working mobile data.
The flash was successful, and the phone rebooted.
However, upon rebooting I was welcomed with the "System software not authorized by AT&T has been found on your phone."
ODIN will not work. The process to reflash fails at "apnhlos" mark. I have no idea what this means.
Can anyone PLEASE help me?
UPDATE: Problem has been fixed. I was able to reboot into Download Mode, plug in to Kies on my PC, and reinstall the official AT&T update. This did unroot my phone, but putting it all back was not a problem.
My advice to those using locked bootloader phones (AT&T and Verizon) is to make sure a project can actually be done on your phone.

Download Kies for your PC, boot into download mode, and reinstall the Official Firmware. It'll unroot your phone and set you back to ground zero, but the phone will safely boot and you can restart from there.

[Q] How do I unbrick my galaxy s4???

Ok. So here's what happened. I wanted to root my verizon galaxy s4 and put stock kitkat on it. It was on 4.3. So I rooted it. No problem. Then I tried to put on CWM so I could flash AOPK. But, once I put CWM on, I could not get it into recovery mode. It said that unauthorized software was on my device, not approved by verizon. The only way I could turn on the phone was to put it into download mode and then hit cancel. I wanted to unroot the phone at that point and try again. Also with downgrading it. So I downloaded ODIN and tried to restore my phone to samsung stock 4.2.2. So I tried it, it worked for a while and then ODIN said that it failed. Then when I turned on my phone, it gave me a message saying "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies and try again." So I opened Kies, connected the phone, and tried to do emergency recovery, but it did't recognize my device. So I selected firmware upgrade and instilation. It downloaded and everything but it said "this devices version cannot be updated." So now I have no idea what to do. I can only go into download mode now. Please help me! What should I do?

Not an easy one this one, but can be solved.
First step: get the right firmware from SamMobile. (phone/operator/country).
Uninstall Kies (and USB drivers).
Reinstall Kies.
Obviously, phone removed all the time form PC!
Shut down the phone (it should be fully charged before, using the normal power adaptor).
Get phone to download mode. Still not connected
Connect phone and wait for the drivers to install.
Start Odin and flash the right firmware (watch for the blue button in Odin, it means the phone is connected OK).
IF it does not work, try another USB port (maybe even a different computer).
If it does not work the first time, in spite off all the above steps successful, don't despair. Shut down the phone (keep pressing power button) and restart in download mode. Repeat Odin procedure.

I think i bricked my new Samsung S7 edge help please ;_;

So i was rooting my phone with TMWP then my phone was encrypted so i used Odin with an original AP of my samsung device
in the progress of doing that i canceled the progress.

Use the Emergency recovery function in the Smart Switch Pc software. so i did that but now i am at this step, telling me to put the phone in recovery mode but when i try to do that it keeps giving me the same error (An error has occurred while updating the device software. Use the Emergency recovery function in the Smart Switch Pc software.)
Im freaking out right now if you guys could help PLEASE.

Probably the phone is not detected?
Sent from my SM-G925F
How are you getting to recovery mode?
Should be Vol Down + Home + Power all at the same time
Are you able to power off your device?
If not, press and hold Power + Vol Down until it vibrates or you see it turn completely off, then hold Home (while still holding Power and Vol Down).
Give that a shot to get to recovery.
I had this problem when i tried messing around with TMWP. I dont belive there is one for the S7 egde US models to my knowledge or at least not for att currently due to the us and international models having a different processors International having a Exynos 8890 and US models having a Snapdragon 820. Im pretty sure because of those having different processors TMWP needs to have a build for both processors to my knowledge fix me if im wrong.
Heres what i posted on another thread about trying to flash your phone back to stock and it not working.
Post:
So I would suggest going to this post here and downloading the ODIN 3.12
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2711451
I was trying to unroot for a clean root and this one worked for me the one made by PrinceComsy did not work for the flashing the stock ROM but it did work for flashing the ENG Boot ROM. I used 3 out of the 4 file to flash the stock rom I didn't select the BL file at all but you can if you want.
If this help you or you need further/help assistance please feel free to reply to this post

I had the same problem. It is a screen that says something along the lines of 'Update failed' or 'an error occurred during update'. It turned out for me that that actually was recovery mode just with the error screen. Plugging it into Kies on that screen allowed the emergency firmware to work and fix my phone.

Bricked phone

Hey XDA Community,
So recently i was formatting my phone through TWRP, using exFAT, but the command kept continuing for an hour, and it wouldn't stopped so I force turned off my s7 edge. And then it came up with some problems. Firstly: My phone when I started it kept stuck on the twrp logo, and kept getting really hot. After a day of trying and hoping that it would work again, the screen changed. Instead of the TWRP logo, I got the error message: An error has occurred while updating the device software. Use the Emergency recovery function in the Smart Switch PC Software. So I tried, and the drivers didn't work but after two hours of trying I finally got it to work. And I had another problem when I tried to use the emergency recovery function, I don't have the serial number anymore. Is there anything you suggest doing me? Already thanks.

Use the emergency recovery option" and I can't get into download mode. Whenever I start device that same error comes up and phone won't turn on. I've been told I need the full firmware G892AUCU4BSC1 but I can't find it and I can't even get into download mode to apply it.

If you can find the firmware you can fish from that screen. Boot download and when error pops up you can see it connect in Odin. The issue is finding that firmware

Thank you, very good to know, i need this firmware now
Phone still broken. Attempted to flash active-G892AUCU4BSC1 firmware just to have it running and odin 3.13.1 fails everytime. It gets to the end and just fails. Still don't have answers
The BSC1 firmware is linked 4PDA, in both AT&T and unlocked form.
